yeah wiggles that foot trick doesn't work with alice Confused we've done alot of night time nappy changes in the hope it helps her but alas open feet never shut her up

Watching X factor now as dh one to bed. Alice rolling around everywhere and refusing to sleep.....again

ILovePonyo · 01/10/2011 20:19

Welcome back reastie! Have some Flowers. Boo to non sleeping Alice, was hoping the change in routine might mean more sleep for you, clearly not Shock

choco hope your day has got better and you managed to have a shower Grin

Needto heres hoping for a better night tonight (fingers crossed)

I am jealous of all the clever babies clapping and copying, dd showing no signs of any of this but she did eat a flower today Hmm Borg apparently I didn't get my first tooth until I was aout 18 months so we can have a competition - dd still very gummy Grin

I have spent 3 hours today getting tattooed, tis very beautiful and I'll get a pic up when the swelling goes down on my arm Shock

A went to bed so sleepy and cute tonight, probably because she had a sleep until 1.30pm and then NOTHING until bedtime - I'm amazed we managed to keep her awake to be honest (she was whingy as per) and am hoping for a good night tonight, though I know these things can backfire can't
they...

I have been reading and lurking. Is it ledkrs big night out tonight? Look out birmingham!

wigglesrock · 01/10/2011 20:20

reastie sshh don't tell the others Grin, they think I'm on to something!! I too have the Jonathan Creek boxset!!!

debka · 01/10/2011 21:09

REASTIE!!! WELCOME BACK!!! I missed you! Blush
Sorry to hear Alice has been giving you grief. You need to talk to wiggles, it is foot related! Glad you had a good time though, you had the best weather for it.

needto 6am that is unspeakably awful. I am sending very sleepy vibes your way right now.

My girls were both done in by 4.30 Shock, had tea at 5.30 and in bed 6.30, that's early for them. Really hoping I'm not up at 5.30 tomorrow.

Yes I've started SW reastie, couple of others on the thread are doing it too I think. I've stuck to it religiously so far and although they say you should never be hungry I still am. Think I'm missing fat! BTW reastie we all had the lurgy here and DH was in bed and just getting up for frequent toilet trips. He didn't get dressed that day so every 30 mins or so Imy and I were rewarded by his willy jiggling about on the way to the loo and bog seat imprint on his arse on the way back. We giggled at him each time!

DH finally left about 4.30, thought for a while he wasn't going to go, but he did. Enjoying a lovely quiet evening now.

debka · 01/10/2011 21:15

ponyo didn't see your post first time round Hmm. S doesn't do anything impressive either, but she can beat a flower- she ate almost an entire 99 at the seaside yesterday Shock, pinched it off her sister! Looking forward to seeing tattoo pic.

wiggles I just watched episode 5 (I think) of the last series. It's lovely isn't it. Have to wait till DH is away, it's not war or cars so he's not interested and I can't enjoy it with him moaning in the background.

OP posts:
reastie · 01/10/2011 21:23

deb I hope Imy didn't get nightmares at that jiggly sight Shock Wink Grin

ponyo forgot to say leaflet received thank you v much Grin . Can't wait to see the tattoo

Will try and upload a couple of holiday piccies if I can as I'm bored

ILovePonyo · 01/10/2011 21:47

Oh reastie I meant Thanks oops. Glad you got the leaflet ok :) Looking forward to some holiday piccys!

deb Grin at S eating a 99, she has good taste! Your dh does sound like a grump sorry, hope you don't mind me saying that. Mine is too but in a funny rather than annoying way, I can take the piss out of his grumping, its just the mess thats annoying with him Hmm

I've never watched downton abbey, we have one episode of the killing left to watch - I want to make sure I stay awake for it as the last few we've watched I've ended up asleep on sofa at 9.30 and missed the end of it Confused Speaking of which its bedtime for me soon, dd has not stirred so far...

ILovePonyo · 01/10/2011 21:49

Awww! Look at A in the photos, reastie I say this everytime but she is such a cutie, love her little face :)

WeAreBorg · 01/10/2011 23:28

reastie really cute photos, she is so gorgeous. Is that a national trust blanket btw , looks like ours.

ponyo the killing was brilliant. I actually looked online to find a jumper like hers, and it's over £200! Think the 2nd series is on soon, yay. Can't wait to see your tattoo.

emski not so keen on the creek either, there was that creepy american (no offence expat) magician who seemed really pointless. And JCs weird hair.

Little one whining, off to rescue...

WeAreBorg · 01/10/2011 23:29

By JC I mean Jonathan Creek, not Jesus. Jesus has lovely hair.

reastie · 02/10/2011 03:59

Anyone else here up? Confused I'm so fed up with Alice - the bad sleep has continued now we're back home - in some kind of misguided hope dh and I had hoped she would be better when we got home. We are going to try cc tomorrow hopefully as not sure what else to do - she screams when she smells the cot and is impossible to settle. We are at the end of our tether - DH been up since 11pm and now I'm on duty. Did ledkrs attempt at cc work? And while I'm ranting just to add my pmt I've been putting up with all week and horrible cramps that meant I got through 2 packs of nurofen while on holiday are not helping my mood Shock . And breathe. Gosh I've missed being able to rant here --bet you haven't- Blush

Emski76 · 02/10/2011 06:48

Oh Reastie, you poor thing. I don't know what to suggest to you apart from cc. I would advise you to do it for daytime naps first maybe. Debka has successfully done it with S so expect she'll have some tips. Will look at your holiday pics in a mo,

Sorry to those of you who like Jonathan Creek, I think it may be his hair and the way he talks, or it could quite simply be that I hate it cos dh loves it!

Ponyo, looking forward to seeing your tattoo!

Emski76 · 02/10/2011 06:49

Yep, Reastie, Alice is gorgeous! Naughty but gorgeous! Hope your ok

reastie · 02/10/2011 08:24

thanks ems think I was a little tired and hormonal last night Blush . I've been reading up on cc so fingers crossed that works. I was thinking start it with day naps too ems but something I read said start in the eve but it didn't say why. deb any advice cc guru?

ponyo how long before we can see the tattoo? [excited and impatient]

re: the killing - we've finished watching it and (not giving anything away) feel Confused by the ending. I read the original (is that what ponyo is watching?) has a different ending and so I'm now thinking of watching that version as it seems a bit different and might be a more satisfying finale.

borg Grin to the j creek vs jesus mix up

WeAreBorg · 02/10/2011 09:18

So cross with DH this morning. N was rubbish last night, but also woke up at 530. He usually has the decency to wait until after 630. Tried to settle him but didn't work, so got up, breakfast etc. and brought him back to bed at 8. He slept for 30mins (usually manages a 90min nap), and I may have raised my voice slightly. DH whips Nate away and says that voice scared him so imagine what it did to a baby, N not safe to be left with me and ordered me downstairs. Cheers, I do over 95% of the night wakings, have him all day, take him to all his classes, BF him, cook and give him all his meals, but DH is apparently super parent because I had a slight wobble. Twunt.

reastie poor you, N is hopeless too (see above), I usually manage okay but did snap today. I'll be watching your CC with interest, really hope it works.

I watched the Danish killing, I think they start off very similar in the first few episodes then differ quite a bit, the Danish one is worth it for the wonderful Sarah Lund - she wears the same clothes every day, never smiles, has greasy hair - it's like looking in a mirror Smile

40Weeks · 02/10/2011 09:24

morning reastie I have done cf with all my boys at some point, out of sheer desperation and would always suggest trying it in the daytime first, not sure why some suggest nighttime, you are far more able to cope in the day, I find. It is hard but stick with it, it does work. Just keep telling yourself that this will male things better! Good luck.

ponyo what's the tattoo of, can't wait to see it!?

Morning everyone else

deb what's for brekkie today on SW ? I feel eggs and bacon are in order. Made a lovely beef curry for tea last night and doing a shepherds pie for tonight with organic lamb mince - fancy

reastie · 02/10/2011 09:51

borg I forgot to say, it's not a national trust blanket, just a cheapy one from the garage Hmm . You can tell it's cheap though as not only is it thin thin thin it's also really small so there's barely enough room for the 3 of us to sit on it. Angry to your dh btw - maybe you should kick him alot a bit in the night so he gets up and see how calm and perfect he is then

Will start cc with a nap at some point today - will let you know how we get on Confused

debka · 02/10/2011 09:59

reastie you poor girl :( Alice you NAUGHTY SAUSAGE Angry. If you do CC and see it through it WILL work and your life will be a million times easier. I would say once you decide to do it, do it all the time, might as well jump in with both feet. I'm here for hand holding :) S has slept through the night every night since we did it. Last night she slept 6.40pm- 6am.

borg that's totally unreasonable, stupid man.

40 one weetabix and a mushroom omelette and an apple today!

Hot hot hot here again today, can't believe it's October!

debka · 02/10/2011 10:00

BTW reastie there is no way CC could be any worse than what you're going through ATM. :)

NeedToSleepZZZ · 02/10/2011 10:14

Hello there

Phew, B was a bit better last night (only woke up 5 times Hmm) but has only just fallen asleep for his nap so now I'm waiting for him to wake up so we can go out.... Hmm Think it's a combination of the heat, teething and 8 month regression, can't believe he's 8 months now Shock. WHat age do molars come through? I thought it was about a year but he's shoving my fingers and anything I leave laying around down the side of his mouth.

reastie so sorry to hear about A STILL not sleeping, other than cc not sure what else there is to do but sending you a big hug as I'm still recovering from the other night. How are the naps going? Is she still only sleeping on you? Might be worth asking HV (controversial I know Wink) about any tips, they have sleep thing for babies here and I almost put my name down for it when B was younger. Oh, and why can't I see your pics of A, should I take a hint? Wink I can only see your handmade bits which are gorgeous but would love to see A too! Grin

ponyo come on, let's see the tattoo! My OH has loads of them (friends with a tattoo artist) but I'm too chicken.

40 and deb please stop making me hungry with all this food talk! I've officially started my wedding diet!

borg I'm Angry at your DH too, why is it that when they do ONE thing it makes them superdad???? If he wants to take N then can I suggest he has him all day and you get to have a lazy Sunday? Smile Thanks for the round up btw, very good!

Hope you all have good Sundays!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 02/10/2011 10:15

Oh and ems, YABVVVU about JC, I love Alan Davies and used to love the JC with Caroline Quentin, now love QI Grin

Emski76 · 02/10/2011 11:00

Shaking head at all the JC fans! Tut, tut, tut......

Reastie, Ben used to only nap on me then when he was 5 months i did cc as he was starting nursery to days a week at 6 months. It was hard but worked after a few days. I think starting with naps is better as your not so tired. It will be tough but keep strong and you will see a huge difference. You could even try gradual withdrawal instead if you think cc is too tough

Borg, am shocked at your hubby, give him a kick in the balls for me!

reastie · 02/10/2011 12:05

needto I've added you Blush . Think I wrote all my mn mates in from the stats a while ago which you must not have been on at the time

well alice not had a nap yet to test out cc. I'm sure she's tired but dh claims otherwise Hmm

Bad news this morning - my granny (as in the one with gdad who recently died) is in hospital and has terminal cancer and been given a month left. It all happened while I was on holiday Shock . And my mad aunt is being a nightmare as usual (she is grannys DIL) - she actually went around grannies house and told her in hospital what things of hers she has decided she will have when granny dies not caring about what Granny wants/how she is etc Shock Shock Angry

janedoe25 · 02/10/2011 13:20

Oh reastie I am so sorry to hear that. Your Aunt sounds like a prize twat, poor Granny. I am here if you need to talk or vent .

40Weeks · 02/10/2011 18:03

Oh no reastie that's so sad, I am so sorry to hear that. That's all you need. Did you attempt any cc? How does dh feel about it?

Borg how is dh now? Are you allowed back in the parenting club? Might I suggest a sharp nudge during the night when N wakes and advise him that you feel 'on the edge' again so he'd better take over Wink

deb how many weetabix constitute a healthy extra? My book says 2?

Did I mention M woke up 3 times last night? I know its not as bad as Alice and Ben but it was between 1am-6am so still v v tired and most put out. He is desperate to crawl and keeps shuffling about yet still can't sit up. Should I be worried?

Another dose of Gary and Robbie tonight - could almost forget I am on a diet Grin
