Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ledkr · 16/09/2011 13:22

Thanks all i have spoken to dh and we are going to stick with it cos its affecting us all.
wiggs that sounds exactly like Dilly but its creeping up to be more than once which im concerned about esp as going back to work is on the horizon, also for a few weeks after the op she wont find bottles easy so need to sort her out. I have been waking her up if she falls asleep on the bottle but she is a monkey to get off to sleep then.
mizk yes i aggree i am Shock too,i certainly dont remember the others being like this.I should be easier by now surely.

I met a friend as planned in the local playbarn. We were a bit Hmm but felt we should make the effort like real mums. As it happened there was a monkey music class which we attended,Dilly was sleepy so just sat there in shock but it was anice little group so we will be doing it again. Lots of Sophie the girraffe Mums there and me and my friend with our wacky dress sense stood out a bit. Also a Da was there with his wife and he was prancing about the place looking moronic. My friend whispered she'd never be able to shag her dh again if she saw him doing that,i nearly peed my pants trying not to laugh.

reastie · 16/09/2011 13:36

mizk and ponyo loving the piccie and Envy at the hair

d if this helps at all when we have hired foreign cars before (we've done it online before going) there was an added extra option of do we want a car with a child seat as if you can rent one with the car for a bit extra. Might be worth checking out altho I'm not sure re baby seat
/toddler seat etc. Re buggy I know at airports they have a special place you have to check in bulkiy/odd shaped luggage as we've had to do that before with other stuff (altho reading wiggles post maybe i have that wrong). They tell you at check in where to go but you have to get rid of it before you go through customs etc. I know planes must take them aas a well traveled friend of mine has a buggy she calls her 'travel buggy' specifically for taking with her when she travels the world Envy

american rapido-o-what? do tell Confused . btw hope l feels better soon

ledkr Shock it tok that long for her to get to sleep? poor you/her. this cc thing so if they scream in the night you just leave them? how do you know they don't need a change/feed etc Hmm

debka · 16/09/2011 13:59

ledkr poor poor you it's grim :( I always find it's worse when you go in, it's like you give them false hope Grin. Yy you must stick with it and it will get better and easier, she will get the hang of it. S had a weird episode last night, cried a bit and I foolishly went in and fed her, she wasn't hungry and I just disturbed her really. Then when I left she really bellowed! I left her for a bit then gave her some calpol and put her down again- she was asleep withinj minutes Hmm Confused

Hello everyone

Hope all the poorly little ones are on the mend, big and small. M has been really whingy this week, I do wonder if it's tooth o'clock at chez 40. He is usually so placid, wonder if that's Dilly's beef ledkr

Delia I second what wiggles said about travel, you can usually put the car seat through the large and bulky items section - we flew Monarch with a buggy and they take it from you just before you board plane and stow it in the hold. It sometimes comes out at a different point to normal luggage too (depends on airport) also good to note that the buggy has to go on the conveyor belt with everything else through customs so not ideal if bubba is napping as you have to hoist em out - we found this out the hard way! hth

So, are all other babies sitting up now? M not even remotely interested. I have to feed him in his bouncer (can't find Bumbo, goddamit) Although he is getting up on his knees.

In other news, ds1&2 are eating me out of house and home. Growth spurts or worms!

Deliaskis · 16/09/2011 16:07

Thanks for advice re travel folks, that's reassuring, buggy at gate, car seat at check-in. Hoorah, I'm going on holiday finally!

Dx

wigglesrock · 16/09/2011 16:32

40Weeks I can't keep up with S&O on the food front either - if I hear "just a wee snack" one more time I'll throttle them. Anna will sit all day on her arse but what she likes doing more is having a gurn until some soft touch Mr W will help her stand up at the edge of the sofa Grin

deliaskis vvvvvv Envy, where in Spain are you going?

A has refused to sleep all day and is now conked out Hmm.

janedoe25 · 16/09/2011 16:48

ledkr hope you and dilly are ok.

Hpe all the poorly babies feel better soon.

delia No advice re: car seat travel. I am very jelous you are going on hol, where in sunny Spain are you off to?

Mizk Lovely photo of Anya and Cassia. ponyo Im loving A's hair!

I had a wee settling in session today with new baby mindee, he is sooo cute got the chubbiest cheeks ever and tonnes of blonde hair!

americanexpat · 16/09/2011 16:59

Delia - when I traveled to America with L last month, I gate-checked the buggy so they took it off me as we were boarding and it was waiting for me when we got off. It meant I didn't have to carry him around the airport but we went through huge airports.

reastie - it's from a Kingsmill promotion, W&G are on a motorcycle, it has a little pot for preserves and winds up to run across the table. Cheap tat but I love it. Grin I was just wondering how structured fat fighters is.

MizK - lovely photo of A & C, am quite jealous of A's hair too.

L has been hard work today. I chucked him in the car at 1 because I couldn't take the whining and crying anymore. I think we may be going back in the car soon.

ledkr · 16/09/2011 19:04

Sad I feel all left out of the meet up,like when your friends "go off" at school Grin Lovely pictures tho.

Well we have truly fucked things up now. Ella had dancing 4.30-6.30 and i went for a wander around town then to pick up dh,of course Dilly who hasnt slept all day went to sleep so now she has just had tea and will have to go to bed really late,we thought that at least we may get a stretch of sleep then.

At least she is eating now tho.Has just eaten a massive portion of cauiliflower cheese which i dumped on the highchair tray and she shovelled in,i swear there is hardly any on the floor.

I have spent the day stopping the bottle when she falls asleep. Its funny cos she sounds just like Anna Wiggles and now i feel guilty for not just going along with it but she did seem to be getting worse than ever.

american the car is always a winner with D,but i cant always do it.

jane baby sound cute, will be an expert by the time baby doe 2 comes along. How are things on that front?hmm?

Oh damn,Ella has been waiting all week to see a Disney premier film, its on now which means for the next 2 hrs she has commandeered the sky Angry ill have to watch the soaps upstairs.

wiggles when you say gurning do you mean pulling faces or moaning? When does pc wiggles go back?

janedoe25 · 16/09/2011 19:14

ledkr Hope Dilly behaves tonight.
We took a forced break with the ttc this month, df has been working away all month and was away for his stag. I feel better for it though and it means I can get steaming drunk enjoy some cocktails on my hen night!

Im wating patiently for DF to come home, he is driving up from London should be home around 10.30pm - so excited! Grin

reastie · 16/09/2011 19:45

blimey, I'm ducking away from the education threads for being slated Shock . Does anyone else ever write something on a thread not really deeply thinking about what they've said other than it's what they think they'd do at the time they wrote it only to regret what they've said? Cripes. I'm going to steer clear as I'm not here for an argument and if I try and defend what I said they'll always find something to pick on me about Confused

ledkr I'm keeping all fingers crossed here for dilly tonight and hope you don't have hours of crying

jane hope you have a nice evening with DH (wink wink nudge nudge)

american I'm not sure how structured other things like fat fighters are to comment. We've got a little folder and have been told to eat at least every 4 hours and to aim to lose 2 - 4 lbs a month which apparently is the best for long term loss.

wigglesrock · 16/09/2011 20:26

americanexpat I loved the car when O was a younger, I had only learned to drive and I used to throw tenderly tuck her in seat and drive for ages until she fell asleep, then park in a carpark and read the paper.

ledkr Mr W went back yesterday, he is on night shifts (5pm-3am), but was in court yesterday morning so he was away from about 10am. Hope D is easier for you tonight. When I say gurning I mean whinging Grin.

reastie We've all done that Grin, I lurk on the Education threads a lot, they can almost be as shouty as AIBU. I was on the original thread in Chat or AIBU this morning.

jane enjoy DF Grin

wigglesrock · 16/09/2011 20:34

Meant to say A crawled a bit today, she was crawling towards an empty bottle, there was me worrying about her parentage with the long legs and blue eyes and she just got up and crawled towards an empty bottle - she is my child Grin

janedoe25 · 16/09/2011 20:43

wiggles Yay for Anna crawling, but an empty bottle? Surely a full bottle is better?

Deliaskis · 16/09/2011 20:53

expat looks like I can gate check the buggy too, which is good, otherwise very achey arms and fractious Claudia would ensue!

jane and wiggles we're going to see my parents at their apartment near Murcia, so we're flying to Alicante, and then driving about 45 minutes to their place (they're out there for a month). A number of advantages, for our first hol...M&D already there, so they can shop for formula and nappies etc. we know where we are going and what's there, M&D there so plenty of help with C, so all in all, an easy first hol. We still haven't made it out to our own place in Austria (failed in July due to DH work, ended up in a caravan in Llandudno instead), so that's the plan for January, but this will be our first 'proper' holiday yay!

Ledkr hopefully D will sleep tonight, and congrats on enormous cauli cheese eating feat. C has been off solids for a couple of weeks due to being a bit poorly, and is suddenly ravenous again, and has stuffed her face the last two days, and done very grown up poos to match Confused.

reastie not been on education really but now going to see what controversy you have caused...

Dx

wigglesrock · 16/09/2011 20:59

jane it was a water bottle, had it been full of anything else, I would have beaten her to it Grin

deliaskis lovely - our first holiday with Sofia (11 months) and with Sofia and Olivia (almost 3 and 7 months) we went to a villa with my parents and sister, it was great, my mum and dad had a brilliant time and Mr W and I got out ourselves a few times.

Deliaskis · 16/09/2011 21:04

reastie just read the thread LOL, there's no getting out of that one. You're have two choices, you can step away, or you can toe the mn line, which would mean.....suggesting that kids only get unruly because perhaps they were not BFd until the age of 7, suggesting curing each and every discipline problem with some kind of star chart, and of course, falling back on the line about how nobody would ever do anything bad and all would be well with the world if it were not for the Nasty Tories.

Hmmm...I would step away if it were me.

Dx

Deliaskis · 16/09/2011 21:07

wiggles that's the thing, my Mum & Dad are out there for a month so I don't feel like we're wrecking their hol, they will dote on C and DH and I will get some time to chill. Perfect.

Dx

janedoe25 · 16/09/2011 21:07

delia sounds fab, a holiday with babysitters!

Is it strange that I actually feel proud of all the babies "firsts"? I often say to DF "A can do this" or "d can do that" he looks at me like I'm a loon! Grin

wigglesrock · 16/09/2011 21:25

jane I do it too Blush, in fact I have been known to say to Mr W "you know my friend....." and he just looks at me Grin. Although you do realise when we meet, you will always be Jane to me Grin

reastie don't worry about it, one of my first posts on MN, before I was on the Feb thread, I made a comment which was not taken well - I think I may have questioned someone who was on MN waaaaay before time began Grin

reastie · 16/09/2011 21:25

Grin d yes of course we are all in this mess because children arn't bf until they are 7 Wink . I'm ignoring it so goodness knows what they are (or arn't) saying about me but I don't care Grin . I didn't mean anything sinister or rude about it, just that was what was popping through my head at the time Hmm . It's all hypothetical anyway as it would IMO never come back anyway Hmm

jane love how you get excited by the milestones but also feel :( for how hard it must be for you.

delia wil shall expect hol piccies when you return and you cant use your phone as an excuse this time Wink

reastie · 16/09/2011 21:26

we not wil Blush

reastie · 16/09/2011 21:30

ha yes wiggles I remember when I first joined mn pre pre feb thread I put an 'x' at the bottom of a message. I was quite Shock at the uproar at this Confused

chocoroo · 16/09/2011 21:48

Quick wave from me....have throat which may be on fire but have finally stopped sweating, phew! R is all snotty and snuffly now though so I can join the bad sleeping gang.

reastie What have we told you about wandering off and causing trouble on threads. I've just been a bit controversial on one about VB and suggested she's perfectly normal. But noticed wiggles was also suggesting something similar so I know she'll join me in fighting people if necessary!

Jane I'm always telling DP things that the babies can do. I term it vaguely enough that it might be people from RL but I think the fact that I dong actually know anyone's RL name gives it away!

Delia Am well jel of hol. Humph. Have a lovely time though, you deserve it after all the sickness and work!

ledkr R practically inhales cauliflower cheese too! I dn blame her though. Hope D sleeps better.....

ponyo and MizK So cute to see the girls together. They are gorgeous. I also have Envy over A's hair. Proper baldy we have here. Am now wondering if I can sneak to Notts next time you meet up.....

American Iam still a little bit confused about something which you wind up that delivers jam to you? WT actual F?!

Right. Think I'll go to bed. Finally getting some time to myself tomorrow, it's been a long old week and DP has been late home a few days which hasn't helped. He did assume I would join him at R's 8:30am swimming lesson tomorrow until I laughed at him - what kind of morning would that be?!

Any idea on what I can buy DP for his birthday next week? Nothing big as I have booked us into Heston Blumenthal's new restaurant in London so that will cost the best part of a month's mortgage if it's anything like when we went to the Fat Duck!

ledkr · 16/09/2011 21:51

reastie Take no notice,im not sure who people think they are on here sometimes.I just tell em to feck off usually,im off to try and find the thread now.
