Sorry Meglet if you wanted to start the thread with your title but I thought I'd best do it while there was still one space to post the link to this one on the last one.

Becaroooo · 22/09/2011 17:09

Yeah....wasnt too bad, didnt have much waiting around.

Debs75 · 22/09/2011 17:37

14 blood tests? Do you have any left Bec?

Becaroooo · 22/09/2011 17:46

I know Its nearly an armful!!! (sorry)

Made a complete arse of myself at hospital (quelle surprise I hear you cry?)

Had to do a wee sample. Nurse gave me a cardboard bowl type thing to catch the wee and a sample bottle and directs me to the loo. So far so good.

Cue becaroooo dropping wee bowl into the toilet.
Go back out, explain to nurse, ask for another wee bowl.
Go back to loo and, ahem....collect wee.
Decant into sample bottle.
Drop lid of said sample bottle under sink.
Swear a lot.
Nurse asks if everything is ok
"Oh, yes, fine!" I answer.
Crawl on floor to find lid, bang head on said sink
Swear a lot.
Nurse bangs on door this time.
"Honestly, I'm fine"
Finally get lid on bloody sample bottle.
Wash hands.
Dry hands on disposable sheets attached to machine on wall.
Dispose of them in the loo, then realise there arent supposed to go in loo, flush and run.

Sigh. I shouldnt really be let out on my own, you know.

Grin Bec (sorry shouldn't laugh

M's b'day tomorrow, we go round different houses for lunch on a Friday so I'm hosting tomorrow, then DD1 insisted we have a birthday tea with a couple of M's friends, then her party on Sunday - should all be fun ...

Becaroooo · 23/09/2011 09:43

3 parties??? Thats good going ninja Grin

Toby is having a b day tea but is full of cold, bless him Sad so think it will be pretty low key

StarlightMcKenzie · 23/09/2011 14:59

BeC PLEASE tell your hernia story here. I was literally wetting myself!

Becaroooo · 23/09/2011 16:05

star so was the GP!! Grin

hang on......

Becaroooo · 23/09/2011 16:07

From other thread:

Took ds1 to the GP about his umbilical hernia.

GP was explaining to ds1 how, if he had it repaired, he would be put to sleep, have a small cut and have his hernia stitched back together and then go home.

Ds1 looked horrified and said...."you mean a Dr will chase me round the hopsital (sic) and shoot me with a dart gun and put me in a crate!!??" (Ds1 has watched far too many nature dvds!)

GP was wiping tears away!

ninja · 23/09/2011 22:14

Bec that's classic - how do we nominate quote of the week?

2 cakes done - I couldn't cope with 3 birthday cakes so I made lemon and lime drizzle for my friends at lunchtime and put a tiny bit of pink icing a sparkles on - it was yum Grin

Her face was a picture when she got to blow out the candles though, she looked like she couldn't believe it was actually her turn.

Leaving the bike to open until tomorrow so will attempt another picture then.

DebiTheScot · 24/09/2011 07:36

Bec those are 2 of the funniest posts ever! Smile

Happy birthday ninja's DD!
lol bec!!
We had DS's birthday tea yesterday, was lots of fun, DH initiated a paper aeroplane competition where the parents made the planes and the children had to line up and throw them. DH also made the most amazing cakes, which were clearly recognisable as "Mater and a Nee Naw monster truck". Unfortunately in making the cakes I spilled flour all over the breakfast bar and my camera, which now no longer works :( I took photos on my friend's camera, but have no way of getting them off the sim card onto the computer coz camera won't even talk to computer, and we can't find our sim card reader. My parents are on their way for the weekend and mum's lending me her camera. I thought I'd have to wait til christmas to get a new camera but thankfully mum has seen the gravity of the situation (missing 3 months of DS2's baby hood and scrapbooking potential....nooooooooooo!) and has hinted at an early Christmas present
We only ate the nee naw cake yetserday so Mater will be saved until the actual birthday tomorrow. Then we're going to the beach to play and have fish and chips, although DS has started telling people we'll be getting ice creams too...sneaky lad, bet we do as well!
Ooooh DS2 is actually awake for once, better go and see him!

Meglet · 25/09/2011 22:14

marking my place....

CappuccinoCarrie · 26/09/2011 13:00

DS1 is three!! He had a great day yesterday, we went to Scarborough and had ice cream, a great time playing on the beach, then fish and chips for tea.
Urgh, DS2 has just woken up!

CappuccinoCarrie · 26/09/2011 13:25

DS2 now back asleep after a feed, I've just uploaded cake photos, DH did good! :)

Debs75 · 26/09/2011 15:25

happy birthday to babyCarrie. Loved the cake, your dp is a very clever boy.
Can't believe you ruined your camera but nice of granma to buy you an early christmas prezzie.

Robyn has turned her nasty cough into a full blown cold and then passed it to me. I ache and have headache and could just do to sleep all day.

Becaroooo · 26/09/2011 15:40

carrie Sounds lovely!

debs Toby and ds1 have awful colds/coughs so Tobys b day was a rather restrained affair! Smile Had a b day tea for family yesterday and balloons and cake and Toby wheeling around on his new bike and scooter Smile Was a very snotty happy boy.

Ds1 off school today as he has caught Tobys lurgy.

Had the Report back from the Ed Psych and, lo and behold, ds1 has dyslexia. Have been telling professionals this for 3 years....now maybe they will listen???

sigh.

StarlightMcKenzie · 26/09/2011 19:01

BFP

Becaroooo · 26/09/2011 19:11

Whoo hoo!!!!!

Congrats star

Very very happy for you x

StarlightMcKenzie · 26/09/2011 19:36

I'm happy too, but must admit to feeling a bit sick about the idea of it. What with everything going on already.

It's what we want though, and I have to come on here and tell you lot because dh is a bloody party pooper and says that his eye sight isn't good enough to see the red line (it is faint to be fair) and that he';; only really believe me when he sees it on a digital test with the word 'pregnant' Hmm

But I know what a red line looks like, and I can see it clear enough.

Becaroooo · 26/09/2011 19:44

Men!!!!

If you say you can see it, its there!!!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 26/09/2011 20:25

Popping in to say congrats to star for bfp! I know what you mean about DH, if he's like my DP. I charted my temps and so I knew I was pg as temp shot up the day before bfp. I think blokes don't want to think it's real until they see the words on a stick!
Hope all goes OK.

Happy birthdays to all the LOs recently. Sorry for being a stranger, it's been a nightmare few weeks. I am now on IM No2 after the first one (who, IMO, should bugger off back to the nhs) dropped me from a great height after agreeing to look after me and take my deposit then emailed to say she wasn't happy with my risk factors (wtf - we talked them through to death before she said yes).

Anyhoo - best thing in the long run as I've found a better IM who was willing to take me on at the price I'd agreed with the 1st one, even though it was much less than her normal fee. She is fab - loads of experience of high risk HBs, incl VBAC and high BMI etc and she is very chilled.
She even said she'd take a room in a hotel near my due date cos she lives a good hr away from me.
Have been able to give hospital 2 fingers and am picturing a very calm water birth at home in the lounge :)

Twas quite stressful as I realised that for a few days I had no midwifery support at all.

Not much else to tell - C is usual self and has now started answering back in spades, giving DP more stuff to get wound up about.... and we were doing so well on the discipline front.

On the plus side, I have won a birth to potty washable nappy set on ebay, so I'm well chuffed (well, DP won it technically). I have washed them all and await the next few weeks!

DebiTheScot · 26/09/2011 21:27

Congrats Star Smile

I hope you got your deposit back MrsA?

Happy Birthday littleBec, littleCarrie and any other little people I've missed who've been recently.

Fantastic Star Grin Grin lovely to have some good news

Bec glad you've got the diagnosis, there's should be some really good suport out there, I hope the school take this seriously.

Missing my kids today Sad, also feeling in bad mum mode.

On the positive side my food cupboards are organised and clean and I've been to the gym
