Hope your first week at home with Eva is going well sassy and hope lil Jacob is on the mend too xxx
A full house of poorly folk here recently. Jack has had the classic post mmr cold symptoms but didn't think much of it really as he seemed really happy but then was really, really wobbly all day on Monday and Tuesday and did some stinking nappies [slurry pit emoticon] Was off his food and doc said he had water in his ear and was really chesty. He does have a new tooth (no. 8) so I think teething/cold combined. Thennnnnnnn....... I all of a sudden felt horrendous on Monday afternoon [hsad] had to miss my gorgeous goddaughter's first birthday and stay in bed all day between puking toilet trips. DH felt the same minus the vom! [hsad]
Anyway..... feel loads better now but J is still shattered and very chesty so hopefully will perk up before his lil Hallowe'en party on Monday Grin

Wonder who the next bump announcement will be!? I dreamt last night but not saying who it was! [hsmile] not me by the way!!!

Lumpy you ignored me too!!!!!! [hwink]

How's things going sassy34264? Hope you are all settling in well and you're healing well.

No advice on poo Debs75, Luke's changes colour depending on what he's eaten but haven't noticed a difference when he's ill.

Speaking of what he's eaten he ate a stone yesterday, partly my fault as I tipped his head back a bit trying to get it out of his mouth and he just swallowed it and carried on! Hoping to see it in the next few days!! He seems to have a new cough and cold and is back to waking up really crying early from his naps. Takes a good couple of hours before he's back to his usual self.

I'm thinking of taking Luke to the dr as I'm worried he has a slightly herniated belly button, it pokes out much more than it did before but maybe I'm being silly? He is now saying 'du da' which I thought was daddy but it's to everyone who coming or going and accompanied by a wave so guessing its bye bye! Still says that or there I'd he wants to go somewhere or wants something. But no sign of mumma :(. Quick question about teeth, those with molars did they take a long time to one through? Luke has the top two but only the side bits have come through and seem to have stopped. Can't remember with ds1.

Hope youre ok JodeyBogeyPicker, can't remember hearing from you since Harlyn's birthday. How's part time going at work?

I think it will be Dixiebell, comixminx or you beaditAli as you three have talked about it most I think. Have you heard from SeaChelles? How's she doing?

beaditAli · 27/10/2011 08:52

Not me until maybe spring next year cinnamon [hgrin] Going to Center Parks with Jack for a week then and want to chase him around like a loon so don't fancy being pregnant then but might decide to try on the trip [hwink]
Just in time to be too big to fit my bridesmaid's dress already bought for August! Hee heeeee heeeee
Not heard from chelle and she's been quiet on FB too so probably flat out with Olly training for the Olympics and work etc etc [hsmile] Hope she's doing ok.... do think about her.
Debs Mum and Dad had Jack last week when they said he did 2 stinking beige poos but I didn't see them so cant comment really tho he did and still has the snots.
Marathon jewellery making day today so happy nearly Hallowe'en lovelies [hgrin]

Debs orlaith often does beige poos but I hadn't worked out any link to anything. But she's had it the last 2 days and has a very minor cough and runny nose today.

I was going to ask you all, I know this might sound crazy, but for the last 9 months I've had really strange spasms in my belly which are just like baby kicks. It's so odd and I've been getting them more recently. At first I thought it was my muscles getting back to normal but it can't still be, surely! Confused And it definitely is not a baby in there as I've still been having periods although they're irregular. And if it was I'd be about 12 months pregnant by now going by how long it's been going on! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 27/10/2011 17:19

I love centreparcs beaditAli, never stayed but my friend used to work there so we used to go for the day. One day we will go, the elveden one is less than 5 miles from my house [hgrin]. Spring next year is only 5 months away!

I have it sometimes too saoirse86 but no idea what it is or why it happens, quite annoying at times though.

Debs75 · 27/10/2011 17:46

We did centreparcs last spring and it was glorious. We went to the one in Cumbria and it was very hilly so wouldn't like to be chasing ababy and pregnant.

My periods have just come back so no baby news from me(ever). Only my 2nd period now in 45months. I hate them and I am going to hate buying sanitary ware for me and dd1 as well

Lucy's poos are still pretty beigelike but getting a bit darker so hopefully back to normal soon.
She is also walking to us now. She can do 5-10 steps but gets very excited quickly and then flops over

Dixiebell · 27/10/2011 18:30

I get the tummy spasm thing saoirse, no idea why but I agree it feels just like a wriggly little kicker!

Just on way home from first day back at work, only an hour on the train Hmm. Think it has made me determined to plan tge next maternity leave...so maybe it will be me! I think I'll stop pill once this last moth runs out, then see what happens. However mine and DH's, ahem, couplings, have seriously been rather sparse since Arlo arrived so I might have to put a bit of effort in if I want anything to actually happen!

Arlo seems to have weaned himself all of a sudden. He didn't want morning or evening bf from me yesterday. I had been worrying about how to stop evening one but although he cried when I put him down, he flatly refused my offers of bf and went to sleep without in the end. DH gonna try tonight as i won't be home before his usual bedtime. Will be first time ever not being put to bed at night by me! Made me a bit sad yesterday him deciding he didn't want me any more, especially the day before I went back to work!

cinnamongreyhound · 27/10/2011 21:21

Get a mooncup Debs75, one off purchase and imo much easier to use.

In some ways it's nice that he's stopped without being forced Dixiebell but I know how sad it is. Ds1 weaned very easily and I was sad about it but better than a struggle and him being unhappy, he was 15 months and still didn't walk so was very much a baby then! Nice that you are so clear about wanting another baby, will you go back to work after a second? Still at least it's only 1 day in the office :)

Dixiebell · 27/10/2011 22:15

It's not so bad at work. But I do like spending time with my boy! And yes, the arrangement I've got is great. I'd need to go back to work for the money, and I wouldn't want to give up the stability of this job - I've reached a good level, pension etc. Haven't thought practically about how much childcare for two is though!!

newmum001 · 28/10/2011 19:19

Grace made her first cupcakes today, well me and my sister made them and grace swanned in every now and again to eat cake mix them wandered off again! But she did stand on a chair for a while and helped me to mix, it was very cute! They were supposed to be halloween ones but I opted for a betty crocker cupcake mix so did strawberry and chocolate ones instead! They are very tasty though!

Going to a halloween party tomorrow night at dp's cousins house so grace is staying with his mum overnight! I still get nervous about it even though she's slept over a couple of times now :( I am looking forward to a night out though!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! And sassy I hope things have settled down for you and jacob is feeling better!

Saoirse Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I was going mad! it definately feels like baby kicks!

Olly had his first lone sleep over on wed night! He's never been anywhere without either me & dh or ds1! He was fine althought i felt a little odd. I have to say tho, a 3 year old is sooooo much easier than a 1 year old!

I'm going to center parcs in jan with the girls from my village. 12 mummys husband and childless for a whole 3 nights! I'm so excited!!!

comixminx · 28/10/2011 20:18

Missed congratulating sassy earlier - though with heartfelt thoughts about Jacob too... hope it all becomes easier very soon, sassy. And hope you get a chance to enjoy Eva more. xxx

Debs, I second the mooncup suggestion - you do need to get used to them but they are great once you do. And just a one-off cost as cinnamon says!

Poor wee Aphra has been sick twice this evening - she was under the weather for some of the day, especially in the early evening before i got back from work. When I got back she had a nice feed but about half an hour later she vomited copiously and watery. It was on the kitchen floor which at least cut down on the mess (and on me, but clothes are easy to change). She seemed back to normal, pretty much, and had a bit more of a feed, but was sick once again about 10 minutes later. No other vomitting yet but she hasn't had another feed - she's just had her bath and then I'll feed her to sleep. Have given her water to sip though, o course. Waiting a call back from NHS Direct though I expect it's nothing much, especially as she has been under the weather today - quite likely it's something going round nursery, but it's all a bit worrying. Hope she is alright in the night, poor mite...

saoirse86 · 28/10/2011 22:08

Well I'm glad it's not just me who's crazy! Wink

Debs I've been quite lucky with my periods because they're irregular but very light. I keep meaning to try a moon cup too.

Comix I hope aphra's feeling better soon and you've been reassured by nhs direct.

You're all selling these center parcs to me, although if I got my way I'd be pregnant too! It looks like there could be a few pregnancies looming! Grin

Debs75 · 28/10/2011 22:30

Ok have just looked at the 'how to use a mooncup' video with dd1 and she was a little freaked out but not totally put off. will try to buy one, website poofed on me when I went to checkout. Anything will be better then what we use now though.

Had a lovely day today, dp's birthday so took all the kids for dinner. DD2 still not eating much Lucy loved her spaghetti and jelly. Then home and me and dd1 decorated dp's cake. Had a small tea and cake then Lucy puked all over me. I got us both changed and she did it again. she had some milk off me and then did it again. She then fell asleep and is now on the settee snoring. Her poo is almost back to normal but the 'bug' is obviously working at the other end now

beaditAli · 29/10/2011 09:33

See now I want to go to Centreparcs NOW! [hgrin]
We've been to all of them twice except Elvedon..... been once, but March will be the first time we've been with our own child (very embarrassing stat to own up to) so I cannot wait! Got to get to the swimming pool more between now and then to get Jack used to ducking and diving [hsmile]

Last night i read bits of a thread about moon cups....... It made hilarious reading! Will try and find the link.......
Just don't think I could bring myself to use one though....??

Debs Hope Lucy will be better really soon... poor little thing. Jack's still really chesty and waking really early which I can't cope with Grrrrrrrr
Lots of poorly babes around us at the mo.

Moan........ Jack was driving me insane last Sunday and I missed a bid on a Maclaren Techno Xt buggy on ebay! CAN YOU BELIEVE it went for £16.00 and was nearly new! ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH so annoyed still

Found it! here tell me the feeding the plants bit is just totally WRONG!!

OP posts:
comixminx · 29/10/2011 10:41

Ha ha, beadit, yes, I'd not be feeding the plants myself! It does take getting used to and it's not going to be for everyone (as a teen I would have been too squeamish I'd think, but am much more at ease with my body nowadays!). But people say that their periods are lighter when they use a cup, and while I dunno if it's something that would have happened anyway, I think I agree. And of course you don't have to throw tampons/pads away so that's better too.

Debs, you can get them in Boots too, at least in the larger branches. Sorry to hear Lucy is pukey too! Aphra is much better this morning, back to her old self, but obv we are keeping a close eye for the next day or two. Hope L is better very soon! Along with everyone else too.

saoirse86 · 29/10/2011 11:18

Grin beadit I've gone all squeamish just reading some of that thread. I can be terrible with things like this sometimes. When we had our antenatal classes at the hospital I very nearly fainted thinking about how this enormous head was going to come out of me. Blush

And a nearly new xt for £16?! That's ridiculous! I hate it when that happens. I often email the seller afterwards saying if they get messed about I'd be interested and pay £x and collect straight away. It has actually worked a couple of times.

All these poorly babies Sad I hope they feel better soon.

newmum001 · 29/10/2011 16:26

I've just read a bit of the mooncup thread, it is hilarious! I've seen them mentioned loads but it's usually people saying how great they are! I must admit I don't get it at all, the thought of what it does and having to empty it makes me feel a bit iffy! Also if you google it one of the images shows a person holding one and the size of it compared to her hand made my eyes water a bit. It looks massive! Definately not for me!

beaditAli · 29/10/2011 19:27

Oh saoirse I did that but it's already been collected by the evil winning bidder [hsad] and a Baby Jogger City Mini is about to finish in Cambridge for £40.... with no bids!!!! CAMBRIDGE! Why on earth is it there and not here!!!! [hangry] They listed it slightly wrong so I doubt many people have found the listing. It's such a bargain........ buggy hunt continues for us.

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 29/10/2011 19:32

That was a scary thread and 2 years old too, I obviously don't use mn to its full potential! Mine leaks sometimes and not others but it's so much more comfortable than a tampon which leaks with me too. I don't have problems emptying just squeeze, remove and tip! Did try several different folding techniques to get it in right though.

Well on your next trip to elveden pop in for a cuppa beaditAli Grin

I'm babysitting at the moment for a 5 month old baby, she's so cute and so good!!!! I want one Shock

hi.
thanks for all the congrats and well wishes. jacob is almost back to his old self......thank god- although he is still all for daddy. but i dont mind as long as he is happy. his eczema is clearing up too, but the drama contines im afraid. both chloe and isobel have impetigo. chloe has bites that she has been scratching and has passed it on to isobel. trying to zap it at the minute with creams and anti b's before it goes back and forth. and ive managed to hurt my scar and now have two little gapes either side of the section. so not good. trying very hard to not make them worse, but its not easy with 2 toddlers climbing all over you!

im with newmum mooncups are definately not for me. im far too ditzy and would forget to empty it, prob whilst wearing white pants and in the middle of tesco! Grin

eva is sooooo good. she sleeps eats and shits for britain! ha. she poo's more than j&i did combined! only down side is she loves to cluster feed and then sleep for hours- meaning my boobs are rock hard and bursting by the time she wakes up. any advice?

you never know, it could be me- i want another..........Wink
