banan have a hug.
I am not looking forward to Uni and I won't be going until Lucy is 3. I stayed at home with the elder 2 and loved the whole taking and picking up from school and feel quite sad that I will miss bits when I start retraining. Ironically it is knowing that they will cope fine without me which makes me more upset.
If only I had won the Euros last weekSad

cinnamongreyhound · 20/07/2011 18:37

That's rubbish Dixiebell, hope things improve soon.

I have a coil Debs75, so should be no more pregnancies at the moment. I have 3 1/2 yrs between my two and it's quite nice, plus it gives me more time to work on dh as he doesn't want anymore!

That's :( bananacurry I know exactly how you feel and see lots of hugs. At least it's only 3 days and you said before you love your job. I went back so much more when ds1 was 6 months and I didn't really enjoy my job anymore.

I can't believe how much more agile Luke has become the last few days. He moves so quickly from one position to another and is up and moving so quickly! He was up at 5 last night and cried for 30mins no idea why, he had lulled me into a false sense of security with quite a few 6.30 get ups!

JodeyBogeyPicker · 20/07/2011 19:00

GUTTED! My wicked trip was double booked Angry.

The theater staff were very appologetic and gave us a refund, London eye tickets to entertain 150 very dissapointed year 8 pupils and another Wicked trip for September including a meet and greet with the cast!

Harlyn was restless between 8 & 11 waking twice and just crying I think it was wind though.

bananacurry · 20/07/2011 19:49

The meet & great with the cast is probably worth the disappointment of missing out today Jodey and you've still got it to look forward too!

Thanks Debs and Cinnamon Yes I do love my job & I do want to go back. Just not keen on the 3 days thing! with Toby when I went back I used to do split days!

sassy34264 · 20/07/2011 20:51

Big hugs banana i would be crying too. xx
That's awful jodey how can they double book for that many students? or was that a typo?
I've started a thread in the names section as we are struggling. Bad idea to give Jacob and Isobel the other two names we picked as middle names!

mapletrees · 20/07/2011 22:35

Typical! Yesterday I posted that Louis isn't nearly walking yet, so today he starts crusing Grin

dixie I hope Arlo is having a better night.

Sad banana

Dixiebell · 21/07/2011 06:53

Thanks maple, we had one waking at 11pm (just as I'd dropped off!). DH went in and just told him it's bedtime, gave him a kiss and left. He didn't stop crying, but after another 10 mins or so he managed to settle back to sleep. So think we'll stick with that from now on. It's hard not to stay in longer or pick him up when he's so upset but it obviously doesn't help.

newmum001 · 21/07/2011 08:21

Dixie your a stronger woman than me (or dp to be precise) we've been going through this for nearly 2 weeks with 2 or 3 wakings a night! I'd rather let her cry (poor choice of words but u know what I mean) but dp can't stand it so we've been going in to settle her. It's been a bit of a culture shock to say the least I'm not used to getting up in the night at all! Glad you had a better night!

Debs75 · 21/07/2011 11:40

Lucy is now bum shuffling in circles to get where she wants. I've never had a bum shuffler before and she looks very cute doing it. She wants to crawl but can't get over her leg. If we put her on her hands and knees she just cries

bananacurry · 21/07/2011 20:06

Debs ds1 was a bum shuffler. I was gutted when Olly started crawling!

newmum001 · 21/07/2011 20:25

Where is everyone? I am very bored and would appreciate you all telling me about what exciting things you're up to!

I have lost half a stone!! I'm so happy, only about another 80 stones left to go!

bananacurry · 21/07/2011 20:29

I'm here! Just eaten a bag of dorritos! That won't help the weight loss!
Drinking Sloe vodka too!

newmum001 · 21/07/2011 20:47

Drink enough vodka and you'll throw up those dorritos therefor not consuming any calories Grin

I've just ordered grace's christening cake, I ordered one the other day but my friend has just emailed me some new designs she's come up with and the one I've picked it so pretty! Very girly!

Good plan! Whats the cake like? When's the christening?

sassy34264 · 21/07/2011 20:59

well done newmum
nothing exciting to report really. jacob has started to cry whenever i leave the room, but he also lashes out at my face when i do something he doesnt like! chloe was such a good child in comparison, although i think something has gone wrong somewhere cos she is a nightmare now. first day of hol and we have been at loggerheads all day. i had a midwife appointment this morn (all is fine and i have been referred to a physio for my back) and she was being such a little witch, that i made her get out the car and walk back. only from top of our road but it is a long road. argh.
also mil came today and told me that dp's nan is in a hospice and has been read the last rights (last thurs) it is dp's dad's mum so he should be telling me but considering he has only seen jacob and isobel twice im not altogether shocked. fecking asshole
anyway, rang the compassionate board for the armed forces and was told it will be discretionary whether they let him back or not as grandparents are not counted as immediate family!!! in who's world are grandparents not considered immediate family? i think most grandparents spend a third of your childhood bringing you up. mine did anyway as both my parents worked full time (still do) and they where the ones who looked after us in the school holidays. anyway, waiting to hear from him. i think he will be gutted as she is his favourite grandparent. im just hoping he can get back before she dies but i doubt it.
debs i'd never seen a bum shuffle before until i went to playgroup and a little boy called edward did it. it is extremely cute.

JodeyBogeyPicker · 21/07/2011 21:05

Yes, it was that many students! They basically booked us into the evening performance by mistake but somehow managed to still print off matinee tickets! Can't see how the computer could print off two sets of tickets! Surely the technology for west end shows should be better.

I didn't get back till 10:30pm and was shattered! Went to bed and then suddenly the crying starts. Harlyn didn't stop sobbing unroll 12:30 ish. Poor thing was really snotty. I think he may be cutting another tooth.

Not sure if I mentioned a few wks ago that he had a couple of spots which I thought was the start of chicken pox. He didn't get more than 4 spots so I assumed I was wrong. Anyway, just found out that his cousin has it now and Harlyn spends a lot of time with him. So I'm wondering now if it was????? Well if it wasn't, he may get it soon. I've never had it so dreading it! I'll keep u updated.

I saw my friend from work today who had twins 8 wks ago. They are super cute but I just thought to myself that I'm so glad I'm not back there again. With Harlyn's colic and reflux, the first 10 wks were such hard work. I love the stage he's at now. So interactive, cute and funny. I can't imagine having two though! Sassy, you must need eyes in the back of your head with two on the move.

Hope everyone is well!

1 day to go.........YIPPEEEEEEE

cinnamongreyhound · 21/07/2011 21:19

Luke is also a bum shuffled and so many people comment on how cute it is!

I remember the same with my work when my nan died sassy34264 I couldn't have compassionate leave had to take holiday as grandparents aren't close enough :(

cinnamongreyhound · 21/07/2011 21:23

X-posts JodeyBogeyPicker, me too! I visited my friend who's baby was early so she's 4 weeks old and I thought I don't miss this. She has been told she's lucky to be alive as it's the worst case of placenta accreta the consultant has heard of. They have taken photos and sections are going to use her case for training other consultants!! Maisie is very cute though but only 6lb 7 at 4 weeks old, much smaller than mine at birth!!

newmum001 · 21/07/2011 21:28

My grandparents were as good as another set of parents to me and my brother and sister we spent that much time with them. Especially my grandad who I absolutely adored, I'm still devastated that he died and it was 5 years ago. He was such an amazing man I miss him so much. So for grandparents to not be considered immediate family sounds so wrong to me!

Banana it's a 2 tier pink cake with a baby in a towel sat on the top with loads of decoration. I'm shit at explaining so I'll try and post the picture of it! It's beautiful! The christening is on 4th september!

We had a shit shit night again last night I'm utterly exhausted!

Dixiebell · 21/07/2011 21:40

Arlo's not moving on his own at all yet - no crawling, cruising or shuffling! He does, however, want to constantly walk around holding my or DH's hands. I can't wait for him to be able to do it independently as my back can't take much more stooping to walk him! Yesterday I tried demonstrating crawling, looked like a maniac crawling madly around the living room while Arlo just looked at me sceptically. He generally just cries when we put him on his front.

newmum001 · 22/07/2011 07:08

Grace slept for 11 and a half hours with not so much as a peep out of her all night!!! First time I've had a good nights sleep in 2 weeks! She learnt to putt herself up to standing and how to sit back down again yeasterday as well.

Jodey is it your last day of term today? Have a lovely day if it is I bet you can't wait for a few weeks off!
