forgot to say, eva was born on the wed at 9lbs 15oz, was weighed again on the sun and was 9lbs 14oz and was weighed again today (sat) and weighs 10lbs 6oz! she is a guzzler!

cinnamongreyhound · 29/10/2011 21:38

Sounds like ds1 sassy34264, he was 8lb 12 at birth and 5 days later 9lb, such a chunk!! Glad Jacob is better and sorry to hear about the impetigo, it's horrible. No advice for boobs I'm afraid, was told not to express at all until 6-8 weeks so you dont upset the supply but if you're that uncomfortable perhaps give it a little go?

saoirse86 · 29/10/2011 22:43

Beadit the other day a city mini went not far from me for £37 and I bloody well missed it. Just completely forgot to increase my bid. Angry

Sassy orlaith was 6lb 14oz at birth, 6lb after 2 days (cue panicky mw's) but 9lb by the time she was 3 weeks and has been big ever since! Grin

saoirse86 · 29/10/2011 22:48

Oh I forgog to say sassy, orlaith had impetigo a couple of months ago and had all the horrible side effects with fever etc. that was awful and I only had her to look after and no wounds of my own!

How can you want another one?! We might have to have you committed if we hear you're trying again! Wink

sassy34264 · 30/10/2011 00:33

if i didnt think it would damage jacobs emotional well being- i'd let you saoirse i could do with the rest! Wink
definately no trying. not now or in the forseeable future. i think id want a surrogate and a full time nanny, before it would happen again. ha.
went to bed at 10pm but dp just back from his friends wedding reception and now im wide awake, while hes fast asleep.........argh.

lumpylumps · 30/10/2011 19:35

What do you give yours for lunch??? I'm really struggling. Ds1 has always eaten anything & everything & very rarely refuses anything. Olly on the other hand will only eat jam sandwiches. I'm struggling with that one cos I've never seen jam sandwiches as a proper sandwich, its probably just me but jam is sweet, not a sandwich filling. Its nursery that have got him onto them! and while its good because he will now eat a sandwich, i can't give him them every day. If i give him anything else he just throws it on the floor. Won't even try it! So my lunch options for him are beans/spagetti shapes on toast or a jam sandwich!

newmum001 · 30/10/2011 19:44

Sassy you crazy lady! [Grin]

Lumpy grace tends to have sandwiches with various filling although her favourite is tuna and she doesn't like ham! She also has baked potato's with various fillings or tuna pasta! She's becoming a fan of soup as well! Or things like waffles with beans/spaghetti etc. Also did a packet of pasta 'n' sauce the other day (hadn't been shopping and couldn't think of anything else) and she loved it!

Yeah, he like pasta in sauce & had soup today. well, a bit of soup & a muffin which he had 1 bite of and threw on the floor so i put jam on it & he ate it!

Hmmm, i wonder if i do a baked potato with different fillings he might get the taste for something i can then put in a sandwich!

saoirse86 · 30/10/2011 20:18

Lumpy I have issues with orlaith's eating. She'll try anything, but chucks everything on the floor after a few mouthfuls. I had really started to worry about it, but I'm telling myself now that she's not tiny and she's not going to let herself starve so I'll just keep perseveringly. She will eat far more if it's mush and fed to her and that's what everyone thinks I should keep doing but it doesn't seem like a long term answer to the problem to me. Please tell me I'm right! Grin

sassy34264 · 30/10/2011 20:20

lumpy if i were you, i wouldnt give him any more jam sandwiches at home now at all. have you ever watched programmes on freaky eaters? a little girl the other day would only eat chocolate and 1 type of crisps, and ive seen one where a little boy lived on custard creams. definately need to nip that in the bud. i would be a bit bothered by jam sandwiches for lunch???? maybe im a bit neurotic over zealous about trying to give them healthy stuff- but where is there any nutrition in a jam sandwich?

im similar to newmum jacket potatoes with either cheese, tuna or beans with cheese, ham/cheese/chicken salad sandwiches, fish and beans, scambled eggs, omelette, and sometimes left overs from night before.

i tend to give tuna pasta, mash, sausages, potatoes, veg, corn beef ash/lobbies, veg bake, salmon, tuna steaks, fish pie, spag bol etc type things for tea.

ive made home made pizza as well. pitta breads, tins of tomotoes with herbs in and cheese- he might like that.

sassy34264 · 30/10/2011 20:40

saoirse i have the opposite problem with isobel- she wants to feed herself all the time. but when its something in tomato sauce, im a little reluctant!

i think perserveance is the key. dont give up trying.

lumpylumps · 30/10/2011 20:55

See Sassy, thats my point exactly about the jam in sandwiches. The nursery they go to is fantastic, they both love it but I do have a bit of an issue about the food! snacks are 9 times out of 10 biscuits, sandwiches are always jam & puddings are always high in sugar too!
I've seen the freaky eaters thing but i also for the first time saw another programme where a 2/3 year old would only eat sweets & yoghurt. His mum was told to just give him that & she did. gradually she introduced different things with them & he started to eat them!

Saoirse Olly also eats better if its something on a fork/spoon. I load it, he feeds! I think you're doing the right thing.

He has no problem with tea which is always the meat & veg, bolognaise, fish pie, that kind of thing. Its the snacky lunch type things!

I wouldnt ever give a child a jam sandwich but not sure why, happy for them to have jam and toast for breakfast! I would say something to the nursery personally lumpylumps, one of my minded little boys always wants a cheese sandwich but he doesn't get one every day. Luke's favorite sandwich is tuna and sweetcorn, he won't eat ham either newmum001. He has sandwiches, pitta with houmous, left overs, beans on toast for lunch. Luke is fussier than ds1 but there isn't anything he won't eat ever just doesn't eat everything always! We had toad in the hole, mash and veg today, last time we had it he ate everything, tonight he ate 1/3rd of it at the most. He prefers finger foods and had a faze of wanting to feed himself but is happy to be fed at the minute which makes life easier.

I feel so crap the last few days an it's starting to get to me now, dh thinks its a combination of the end of the cold I've had and my period but I hope it goes soon. Have been nauseous every morning and am really tired and headachey by about 6 in the evening, just no energy at all!
