WeAreBorg · 04/08/2011 22:34

Ooh, we say peepo unless I am singing the peekaboo, I can see you song. Beebo is wrong, obv. Cuckoo actually makes a bit of sense, Mr W is faultless as ever.
ponyo hope you have a lovely time, I'm very jealous.
Good idea wiggles about the playmat. reastie is right though, I did sort of want a carpet....

Rubbish he seems to be awake again, byes

wigglesrock · 04/08/2011 22:37

WeAreBorg Mr W has gone to bed, having consumed a few glasses of wine and fallen asleep on the sofa - be still my beating heart Hmm

chocoroo · 04/08/2011 23:00

Peepo round in our house too, although sometimes peeeaaaaakaaaaa BOO! I'm northern. Not heard Beebo ever before.

"reastie" Your articulate comment probably doesn't mean to much if I let on I didn't even notice you'd made a word up!

"Borg" I'm jealous of the aquarium trip. There's always 2-4-1 tickets for the Sealife centre on the bullring car park tickets. I probably have enough to take a whole school! Might investigate in the autumn.

ponyo Enjoy your trip. Am well jel :)

Knackered now, DP didn't get home til after 9pm and R only settled just before then. She's been rolling for weeks but has only now decided to do it in the cot at bedtime.

We're on hols soon, just the lake district, and I was wondering whether it's worth buying a stroller to take rather than the Oyster which takes up most of the car. Does anyone have any recommendations?

WeAreBorg · 04/08/2011 23:20

Hmm, N keeps waking up and sounds a bit croupy, hope he's okay.
choc can I come with you to the lakes, they're lovely. No idea re strollers, don't use Which to decide. I know, I hadn't heard articulatory before and just assumed it was a very clever word, although reastie it's not coming up on my spellcheck! I think it is a word!
N does the spinning round on tum, and crazy swimming thing. He is madly diving for toys, usually has about 3 goes then gives up. He still doesn't really roll much, just by accident I think Confused.

Right beddie byes, hopefully he'll stay asleep for a couple of hours.....

ledkr · 04/08/2011 23:28

Just ignore me then borg Grin
chocco the oyster makes me laugh as i fold it and its so big,i go on the bus sometimes and those signs say you have to fold buggy if a wheelchair needs to come on,its no smaller folded is it?I take wheels off anf fold buggy seat in half for hols.

Not read back yet but wanted to share with you the most stressfull day ever.

So tired from crap night i decide on the aquarium.
Internet mega slow when looking up directions and trying to get a discount ticket.
Find ticket printer wont work.
Dilly screaming as i try to get out.
Pick up dil and gs.
Sat nav breaks down and no directions.
Get massively lost.
Arrive at last to find gs ha lost a shoe, hes 23 months.
No shops near so cant buy any,
Pay for me and Ella to get in even tho free ticket for her on net but couldnt print.
Walk shoeless child around pretty crap aquarium.
Go for tea and gs is tired and vile and keeps crying.
Pay 8.50 for the car park.
Drive home but take wrong turning and end up going wrong way for 20 miles then having to turn back.

Tomorrow i will stay in Shock

Dilly was mega hard to settle, this is becoming a habit.I used cc for a while cos really need to sort her out.It wasnt too bad but not sure what to do as has been waking in night crying.May give water, not sure.

Night all xx

debka · 05/08/2011 06:17

ledkr sorry about your rubbish day, really hope Dills gave you a better night. S is becoming a terror at night too, I don't know what to do about it.

So I thought the other night was the worst ever? Well, last night LAUGHED in the face of that night.

7.30 bed
9.20 feed
11.20 feed
12.20 bit of a cry
1.30 wakes up and I pace up and down with her for AN HOUR before she goes back to sleep
2.30 back to sleep
3.30 wakes up for another 1/2 hour
4.00 back to sleep
6.00 up for the day.

You will note that I had approx 4 hours sleep in this.

My nipples are killing me, my back is aching, the baby is still yawning and I have a monstrous toddler to look after today.

WTF do I do about her terrible sleep?????

I think i might have to do cc, i'll have to send DH and imy round to my mums for a few nights though.

peepo or occasionally peekaboo here.

Emski76 · 05/08/2011 06:54

We say peepo, or peekaboo, but then Bens nursery is called peekaboo.
Can't remember who asked, but our wedding anniversary is April. Next year it will be five years married and ten years together so quite a biggy. We don't normally do anything as were not the most romantic people.
Debka, sorry about your crap night, could she be teething? Thats the only thing I can think of.
Ledkr, sorry about your crappy day yest, sometimes I really do wonder why we bother going out! So much packing to do and so much to remember!
Its looking quite sunny here so am off to hang our some washing, exciting!

reastie · 05/08/2011 07:24

Glad I'm not the only one who says peepo and I am right and dh is wrong as always re: the beebo Wink . Never heard of using cuckoo though Hmm

wiggles the peepo book is great - it's by one of my fave childrens book authors janet and allan ahlberg

ledkr shat a shocker of a day for you - bet you wish you'd never bothered Confused

deb mucho sympathies for the bad night. Ours wasn't as bad as yours but DH was up with alice non stop from 10:30 - 1:30 Shock - any time he got close to putting her in the cot she screamed Confused . I took over at 1:30 and by 2 she was sleeping in her cot Grin . Poor DH though he actually dumped alice in the cot in the end and went downstairs mumbling things like wtf, fgs etc. She was up at 5 too so tired house here today. Trying to put it down to something and we are wondering about teething (couldn't find the teething gel Angry ), hunger re: weaning and maybe we need to step up the food a bit or clingyness as she's been really clingy to me recently and has started wanting to go to sleep only with/on me, which she's never done before even as a newborn she never really slept on me that much Hmm . We have done some cc but tbh have no idea how to properly go about it and how long to leave her etc.

choc have a good holiday Envy

borg glad you liked my apparently clever word Wink

ILovePonyo · 05/08/2011 07:52

Morning all, what a crappy night deb, I am not speaking from experience here as never done cc but think sending dh and Imy away for a few nights is a good idea, I think first night is the worst then is (hopefully) gets better by night 3? Hopefully someone will have some more experience - have you tired or searched the sleep board?

ledkr Shock to your day, you're brave taking D and gs out! Enjoy your day of hopefully doing nothing today.

choco can I be well cheeky and ask if you have a spare 241 sealife ticket?! If not don't worry, but worth an ask as the Birmingham one is nearest us. enjoy your hol, lake district is lovely.

reastie your night sounds tiring too, up at 5am too, yikes. I am clearly wrong re: beebo peepo, poor dd teaching her funny words Grin

Right better go and pack, I have done dd her own suitcase for my mums with about 10 changes of clothes in and a pack of nappies for 2 days, so pfb Grin

ILovePonyo · 05/08/2011 07:55

how ironic I put "tired" instead of "tried" there deb :)

Deliaskis · 05/08/2011 09:38

Morning ladies, so sorry to hear about more crap nights for Deb reastie and crap day and night for Ledkr .

reastie C does that thing on her tummy too, she flaps arms and legs off the ground but can't figure out that if she's got it the wrong way roung and limbs down but tummy up would work much better. It looks funny though, I am often tempted to spin her round in manner of spin the bottle while she is balancing on her belly. I wonder how far she would go?....

Ta also reastie for your comment on the Zapp. Every review I have read has commented on what a PITA it is to fold, so if MIL wants a parent facing one, then we will be getting something different I think. Ta also for other buggy recs, we're really after something more lightweight now so shopping around. Found a great thing though from Red Kite, a Jogger style buggy, basically a rip off of the BJCM, but for £75 including bits and bobs. Quite tempted.

Oh and it's peepo of course, wtf is beebo?

Ponyo enjoy your trip.

random I don't know the peekaboo song [wails]...

Borg your baby guided tour of the aquarium cracked me up. Sometimes I find myself saying the most random and ridiculous things to C, having a baby does make one somewhat insane I think.

choc that's the kind of thing I'm looking for. Something smaller and more lightweight, and folds smaller than what I've got now. Nobody tells you when you spend hours shopping for a pram when pg (which admittedly I didn't as big sis donated hers) that all this 'suitable from birth to 5' thing is mainly crap as once they're not lying down sleeping in it all the time, then you can get something that weighs about half the weight, and folds down to a third of the size than your initial full on pram thing. I asked the pramaholics on the pushchair section of mn and the Baby Jogger City Mini was recommended by many people and the reviews are very good. Then one of them also spotted this which seems to be a cheaper version www.preciouslittleone.com/product-information/22/12574/red-kite-push-me-urban-jogger---blaze/#reviewtab . So just mulling it over myself.

Anyway, C has woken up (early, how dare she?) so best be off.

Hope today is a good one.

Dx

ledkr · 05/08/2011 09:39

ponyo you can get those vouchers online or i have one. WARNING the brum sealife gets very busy in school hols, the queue is often hours long.We went once and didnt even get out of the car.

Not caught up yet but will now,Dilly had afab night after my tough love t bedtime. Slept till 8.45 so me and dh are all bright eyed for once.

deb i reckon you are going to have to implement some form of cc.
Id have a good nosey at tecniques and plan what you are going to do.
When i stopped Ella from having night bottles i decided not to try and sleep, just read my book and had aflask of tea.
Do you do a good bedtime routine? I went for the shush pat method last night, she cried for a bit then i went in and said "go to sleep" and patted her chest or back and said shush really aggressively loudly.
I dont like the pick up put down method as i think its confusing.
I only did it at bedtime but it worked.Poor you,can anyone do a night for you so you can catch up,id do it myself if i could, bless you having the worst baby and the least helpfull dh Sad

ledkr · 05/08/2011 09:57

Just had aquick catch up,and just wanted to put you all right, its boo! Not any of those twee words Grin
We are off to the woods for a bbq today,Dilly will be strapped to dh cos its not pushcjair terrane haha.See ya later

debka · 05/08/2011 11:03

Just a quickie to say DH took the screamer Imy out this am and i've had 1.5hr kip whilst S slept, think he recognised breaking point when he saw it!

WeAreBorg · 05/08/2011 11:36

debka glad your DH is being slightly less useless today, shame he waits until you are at breaking point though. What a terrible night, poor you. I can't suggest anything as I have a crap sleeper too, ledkr is very experienced though.

ledkr glad the shush thing worked, you may need to expand on your description of what to do though - 845!!

delia peekaboo song goes - peekaboo, I can see you (repeat 3 times), then hiding in your cot/cradle/pushchair/unsafe bed under a duvet or wherever they are at the time.

Nate not so well, seems to have a really croupy cough and a temp. He woke at 5am and only managed 15min nap since then Confused, hope he gets some rest poor thing.

wigglesrock · 05/08/2011 14:35

Have started new thread. Apologies for the crap title, the pressure got to me Grin. Can someone younger cleverer than me post a link!

reastie · 05/08/2011 14:39
