Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
knittakid · 02/08/2011 10:12

Hello everyone. Sorry have not read posts since yesterday (two pages!).

Could anyone tell me if they feel completely out of control with their emotions? I go from extreme anger to feeling nothing at all in minutes, have the capacity to ofend and infuriate dh in ways nobody new possible, and just hate living with myself. Obviously today is a bad day. And just to make me feel even worse, p actually fell off the bed last night, he's fine though.

wigglesrock · 02/08/2011 10:20

knittakid hi sweetheart, sorry today has started shit for you. I know that I swung from unexplainable rage to huge depths of nothingness when I was depressed, it was horrible, I felt worthless and didn't understand why anyone would want me to be with them. Have you plans for today?

I wouldn't worry about P falling off the bed, there's been quite a lot of baby having head banged, hitting themselves with toys etc. I'm sure a few of us will be about most of the day, just keep posting, talking. If you don't want to talk on the thread, I don't mind if you want to pm me xx

ledkr · 02/08/2011 11:32

knitta, yes i do. My pmt is out of control,i am picky and unpredictable and downright nasty at times,i feel tired all the time but cant sleep well and miss my old life. So there Grin are you on medication cos i flipping am and feel loads better.I trained as a psych nurse if you want to pm me about meds etc. Are you able to meet up with a friend today?

ledkr · 02/08/2011 11:37

i cant even sodding lift le cruset stuff, whats wrong with a bit of ikea?fgs

wigglesrock · 02/08/2011 11:40

But then you'll be the same as everyone else and won't have that lovely cooking utensil superiority feeling Grin

reastie · 02/08/2011 11:48

I have one piece of le cruwhatsit which is orangey-red. It was my great grandads so I didn't actually go out and buy it. They are blinking heavy arn't they ledkr? I have a posh kettle and toaster so I get my kitchen superiority from those Grin Wink

Btw wiggles why do mners hate brown leather sofas so much? . I have one brown one which was dhs and one tan one which really doesnt count as brown anyway

knitta what you and wiggles said about how you are feeling encapsulated how I am at present, but I don't know if how I am is 'normal' - I can't think everyone feels like I do. When is that counselling apt of yours?

mizk great idea re: before and after piccie. Shock at bil btw. Can't believe your sil didn't say anything

44me any news?

ledkr · 02/08/2011 12:04

miz k its women like thst who give us all a bad name for putting our foot down,i dont even like dh going on those weeknd stag do's,too much money and a bloody cheek. I would book myself a nice raucous break if he had one Grin

wiggles I am watching idris at the mo in a film called obsesion, his co star is Beyonce so no hope for us then.

Emski76 · 02/08/2011 12:05

Wow ladies, you talk so much, I've had to make notes!
Sponsored shred sounds good.
Ponyo and Jane, I have a tattoo on my tummy , it's only small. Ben often asks me what the writing is on tummy. Oh and the other day Ben looked at my tum a d said mummy why is your tummy like that? All lines and stuff? I didn't know whether to be mortified or laugh!
Reastie, gl with your weight loss scheme.
Knittakid, when is your first counselling session? I think your feelings are normal if your feeling down. That was one of the main things I looked at during my CBT sessions. I finished the sessions two weeks ago and can honestly say I feel loads better. Have you got anything planned for today?
Debka, I'm so pleased your mums got the all clear. What fantastic news!
Four4, keep us up to date with your friends progress.
Ledkr, I loved the thred you linked to, how do the threads get to that point! It's madness!

Well, I went to the stay and play group today which is always good, but I always seem to feel a bit out of it. Possibly because they go to other groups I can't go to as Ben can't go to them. But as I left the group and heard them talking about meeting up on Friday I thought to myself, well I've got my mnet friends!

Ok, I am the new official bad mummy, while I've been writing this thread, Noah has been laid in front of me ripping up a magazine, I looked up to find him chewing, and had to extract a big ball of magazine from his mouth!

wigglesrock · 02/08/2011 12:17

emski Annas' favourite thing is an envelope especially if it has a scrunchy window Grin Some of the mummys in Sofias' primary school class meet up. I'm not invited free on those particular days Grin

ledkr Beyonce - she ain't all that, big thighs that's all I'm saying Grin

reastie I think it's because they're easier to clean Shock

Four4me · 02/08/2011 12:37

Have only skim read while the children run riot play nicely together.

hubbard hope you get back to normal very soon.

knitta big hug!

Loving the crazy mn theories on life!

So sorry of I've missed anything significant, will be back tonight.

Quick update:

My friend still in hospital, had sweep last night, stayed in, they tried to break her waters at 7.30 this morning but couldn't as they were to tight around babies head. The last I heard was at about 9am they were going to monitor her as she was 3 cm dilated and possibly put her on a drip. Her dh is with her so am just waiting. Don't want to keep texting and be a pita, sooooo excited!

knittakid · 02/08/2011 13:17

Sorry can't pm from this phone. Ledkr, my gp adviced against med due to bf, how would it affect it?

wigglesrock · 02/08/2011 13:24

knittakid jump on the breast feeding thread and ask what meds you can use, or just have a search, there have been a few threads on this - you can deffo use some. Ledkr will have much better info but just incase you want a nosy.

PS Apologies for my single white female reinactment re pms Blush Grin

PussInConverse · 02/08/2011 14:24

Am a bad mummy too - J fell asleep in her jumperoo while I was mnetting!!

She's in her cot now, so will read at my leisure. I also have a tattoo (a small and easily coverable one). This thread seems to be the most normal one on MN - off to read ledkr's crazy link now.

Oh and thanks to whoever recommended those Organix wotsits - she lurves them Grin. Every time she starts grizzling, I hand her one. Pure bad mummy magic!

janedoe25 · 02/08/2011 17:35

Hi ladies, baby mindee has gone and was had work today, poor wee thing is teething. Her mum gave me spag hoops to give her for lunch, i couldn't bring myself to give her them so gave her sweet potato mash instead. Is that bad of me? I just thought she shouldn't be having the hoops with all the salt in them.

Im off to have an early dinner, got to get ready for tonights zumba, i'll tell you all how i made an ass of myself later. Grin

ILovePonyo · 02/08/2011 18:40

jane I was reading today (on the mail online shh) that babies are getting too much salt b'cos parents are giving them things like spaghetti hoops, baked beans etc so you did the right thing. This will make me sound a bit thick but I wouldn't have known there's too much salt in things like that until I got my Annabel Karmel book in the post woohoo!

Enjoy zumba, I'll be back on later have to bath dd (who has been a big old grump today Hmm)

NeedToSleepZZZ · 02/08/2011 19:03

phew, sitting down for 5 mins before bath and bed for B and me.
had to laugh at the other thread ledkr, well done you! i'm an english teacher and have to correct grammar etc but for the life of me can't think why people want to do it on here!

knitta hope you've found out more about anti depressants and bfing, it's the reason I had to stop but that's only because I needed Prozac as had tried the ones that are allowed with bfing and they didn't help me in the past but everyone's different so fingers crossed for you Smile If things get really bad then having a rant on here seems to help me as someone on here has normally gone through the same thing. This being a mum is so much harder than I ever expected, I can't imagine how teenage mums cope at all now.

jane sounds like you've had a tough day, I hope your mindee's teeth come through soon, they get so miserable with it don't they? I hope the mum was pleased that you went to the effort of making fresh food for lunch.

Okay, think I'm in the running for bad mum of the day, B has had his first taste of chocolate. I put clean linen on the bed on Sunday and OH dropped chocolate on it (it's white as well Angry) last night and I couldn't be bothered to change it. B came into bed with us for his bottle this morning and was rolling about when I noticed he was sucking the chocolate out of the duvet cover Blush. Am I banned from mn now? Surely it's the same as giving him a fruit shoot Hmm

Have ordered the shred dvd, is everyone in agreement to do it for September then? I was thinking reastie (and anyone else that can't do the dvd for whatever reason) that maybe you could get your personal trainer (very Envy Grin) to recommend something or go for a 30 min walk each day?

okay, this has now taken me 1/2 hour to write as had to do bath and bedtime but he's asleep now!!

hope everyone is having a good day, I'm off to read all the posts I haven't caught up with yet!

ILovePonyo · 02/08/2011 19:48

I'm back, Needto dd had her a bit of Flake today off my finger, thats worse than sucking it out of a duvet surely? Wink
Agree with you about that thread, surely unless someone asks its just rude correcting grammar?! I knew from reading the op it would kick off. It reminds me of Ross and Rachel on friends when she writes him the long letter - "you're means YOU ARE! etc"

deb great news about your mum, really happy for you. Now you have tantrums to contend with!

Good god put dd to bed 10 mins ago, just checked on the (fab) video monitor and she's managed to wriggle right up to the top of her cot and is sideways kicking the bars, little monkey.

knitta know what you mean about the emotions thing, I found it has evened out for me know luckily but used to remind myserlf it was just hormones - sometimes this worked sometimes it really didn't! Good luck with anti deps, hope you find something you can take whilst bf-ing. Oh and dd bashed herself in the face with a toy today and now has a mark on her cheek - I'm taking her to get weighed tomo hope they don't report me Wink

wiggles I fail at the mn test too as I have all the same things as you except the leather sofa - mine is ikea!

Right dd is awake and making a noise, better go and sort her out Grin Btw did a dream feed at 9.30ish last night - went ok (she had 4oz and didn't wake up) but didn't mean a lie in this morning, boo!

ledkr · 02/08/2011 19:58

trying to remember it all and post quick as Ellas Bistro is open.

Knitta have to admit you have me stumped,i there must be suitable ad's cos of pnd iyswim. I am finding prozac amazing i am so much happier and less inclined to feel irritated by people breathing. I am not bothered about giving my email out tbh so if you like i will.
wiggs All my kids had leg ache and so did i.I aggree its growing pains but also tiredness. I always give paracetamol-calpol when younger, and rub them.It must be agony for them.
I dont get invited to the posh Mums do's-as if id want to.I did once and got really drunk and was waffling on and flirting with all the college boys,i ended up asleep on a stool Grin
needto what p'd me off was the woman who was saying it made numerous mistakes and kept on swearing,do you think she's given up?
jane id absolutely aggree with the no salt thing.I make all dillys food in a big cook up,and buy her fruit and creamed porridge. Btw the giant carrot watsits and tomato disks are 4 for 2 quid in sainsburys.
We just went to the pub with the girls and had a beer in the garden it was really nice, had one of those "life is perfect" moments which was soon halted by a poohy nappy and a 9 year old opening a bistro Hmm

Emski76 · 02/08/2011 20:14

Need to, I have to admit I chuckled quite loudly at the story of Ben licking the chocolate off the duvet. Hilarious!
Went for a run earlier, just had a delicious tea and now watching law and order on sky plus with a beer, lovely.
Hope you've all had a great day

NeedToSleepZZZ · 02/08/2011 20:18

debka, such good news about your mum, it's so bloody brilliant to hear good news stories re cancer which is why it's good to hear from ledkr and about wiggles's mum.

Sort of wish I hadn't read some of the posts now, I don't think I'm a true mnetter at all apart from being neurotic about having a clean house and not wearing crocs! I even wear white linen trousers which is apparently A BIG DEAL on here Confused. Oh, I don't have a leather sofa but then almost all my furniture is either from second hand shops or hand me downs Blush.

Oh, and choco please leave a bit of McNulty for me to lick if I ever get to see him!!!

debka · 02/08/2011 20:45

Thanks for all the nice comments about my mum, she is starting to pick up again as well and has been dressed nearly all day today! Imy is sweet, she knows Granny is ill, when she saw her today she said: 'Granny all better now?', she is also fascinated by her wig, this morning my mum had her hat on which Imy pulled off so they talked about her hair growing back, then this afternoon she was wearing her blonde wig and Imy asked if her hair had grown!

Just watched an episode of House which was horrid, about a mother who killed her baby boy, was really upsetting, had to check both my girls that they were ok.

Lucky babies having chocolate, S had 1/2 a rich tea biscuit today and though she was darn lucky Grin

Really wanted to get S weighed this week but not sure if I can- she was sucking on my ice lolly yesterday and today has a red mark all round her mouth- she's got FROSTBITE, poor mite! Any one have any idea what I can do to help it?

reastie · 02/08/2011 21:37

needto most of my furniture is second hand/hand me downs too except my pride and joy sofa . The items I've bought new I can count on less than one hand Hmm

deb Grin at imy and the wig. I had a lecturer at uni who we all swore wore a wig and it just looked wrong but then every now and again his hair would look like he'd had a hair cut. In the end we decided he had 2 wigs, one shorter than the other to make everyone think it wasn't a wig Wink . Frostbite? Shock . No idea I'm afraid Confused

I took alice in the garden this afternoon and laid her on a towel under the trees with no clothes and no nappy - she loved it Grin

jane sounds very good of you . There are hidden sugars and salt in everything - when you start looking on labels it's quite suprising.

ella what did you eat chez ella?

Can I admit that I love those carrot organix things and have been eating them for a few years? Blush . I first ordered them accidently on online shopping and didn't realise it was a baby food but found them quite nice and Grin as they are gluten free so quite often have a pack Wink . I used to feel a bit odd rummaging in the baby food section for them but now I have no shame a baby it's great Grin

puss i've seen many a photo on fb of fb friends' babies falling asleep on their jumperoo/similar so don't worry

baby olympics at baby sensory today. Alice got a 'congrats you are a winner' type certificate (as did all the babies) and when dh saw it and found out everyone got it he had a rant about how bad it was as they have to learn they can't all win everything and there always has to be winners and losers Confused Hmm

phew, I'm going to shut up now

reastie · 02/08/2011 21:43

haha I mean ledkr not ella Blush

janedoe25 · 02/08/2011 22:11

needto i was laughing for ages about B sucking chocolate from the duvet. Grin

Did you enjoy your bistro dinner ledkr?

I am most defo not a true mumsnetter, i have a leather sofa and ikea furniture.

Well, the zumba was a success, i manged quite well im a bit proud of myself! We raised £200 for SANDS! Grin
