Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ILovePonyo · 04/08/2011 12:45

Aha so I wasn't being unreasonable then, ledkr I barked at him from the bathroom "Don't talk to her!" I just think does he not notice what I've been doing?

Borg aquarium sounds good, I am hoping to take dd to sealife centre in a couple of weeks, I love those places anyway and hopefully it'll be nice for her to have a look around. Although I predict she'll just sleep the whole trip. I agree with the organix wotsit type snacks and rice cakes, I was very up for pureeing and spoon feeding but dd much prefers grabbing snacks and shoving them into her mouth herself. Some puree she'll eat but she mostly tries to grab the spoon and chew it Hmm

delia wow your dh took the 7pm bedtime very literally didn't he?! You couldn't make it up could you, it would be funny if it wasn't so annoying Grin I'm still just using the car seat with the pram, hardly ever used to carrycot bit of a waste really Angry

ledkr good luck with moody 9 year old, sounds fun Hmm

reastie · 04/08/2011 13:39

You will all have to wait for the granny endorsed outfit until the christening I'm afriad Wink . It's not too bad I think as I had chosen the dress already, I was just looking at shoes/jacket/necklace to finish it off.

borg I can defo endorse the carrot organix things - I used to take them into school to have for my lunch sometimes Grin Hmm Grin

sounds like maison ledkr was interesting last night Hmm

FWIW ponyo my dh does the same re: talking to her etc when he should ignore her. And then he wonders why she won't settle

delia we have a quinny zapp but haven't used it yet as alice is too small for pushchair yet. We have got it up and down a couple of times and it is such a pain to do. Most people seem to have mclarens for easy to transport pushchairs I think. We have a quinny speedi as our main travel system and I heart it lots. It has all terrain wheels and is so easy to push. I was talking to a woman in the lift in boots yesterday who had the same speedi and she was saying how much she loved it too. It really isn't very lightweight though so maybe no good for you.

Alice is now making fart noises with her mouth non stop and spitting everywhere Shock [sigh] . I'm rather embarassred to go to the post office this afternoon as she makes it sound so loud and realistic Confused I'll get funny looks from everyone thinking it's me Shock . Still, I suppose it's better than high pitched ear piercing squeals

Sure I've forgotten lots of replies I was going to say Blush

chocoroo · 04/08/2011 14:52

Afternoon all,

Not sure I can remember everything that's been going on but here goes...

ledkr Ella's tantrum sounds amusing if nothing else. Do you think it was the stress of cooking dinner that brought it on :)

reastie we get the fart noises too. R tends to charm the old ladies i. The PO though, and saves the fart noises for when DP gets home. Several times he's asked if that was me! Oh, and meant to say, turns out I was super efficient while nesting and put all the spare linen in the loft in a vac pack. I do still intend to get rid so I'll let you know whe DP I get it down.

borg I'm definitely an Organix crisp thing fan. R loves feeding herself but I get scared. They kind of melt so are perfect. I even tried rice cakes with hummus this week and they worked well, but the mess!

ponyo Sympathy on DP. My mum was here at the wkend and every time r messed about with her bottle she shouted from the other side of the room "drink it up" or some such. Because that really helped and didn't make her turn around and grin. Oh no.

Delia welcome home!

Jane Although I'm glad the swi is going well, I have just got a little Blush at your sore comment!

puss I sympathise too with the childless, skinny and interesting friends visit. I often feel like I have nothing interesting to say at all!

Throwing it down here today and finally getting a bit cooler. I've been hoovering and cleaning all day and would deserve a cake if I could be assed to go to the shop!

Might need yor protection soon....particularly wiggles and ledkr. Iosted on a thread asking about how much people got in compensation for whiplash injuries. I mentioned that I should maybe have put at least some of the cash away for future physio as my neck is still a mess ten years on, but being a reckless 22 year old I went travelling in Australia instead. I'm now being blamed for the price of insurance premiums going up! Hmm

ILovePonyo · 04/08/2011 15:35

choco I just posted on that thread.

Love the babies making fart noises, A still does high pitched squeals which are cute, its only the whinging which is annoying.

Better go and do some cleaning as dp has taken madam out for a bit...

PussInConverse · 04/08/2011 17:20

Visit with friend was lovely Grin

Car had to go to garage though. Had earmarked first back to work salary for clothes household essentials, but instead £180 for a random car part it is.

Love those organix things too, but prefer wotsits!

J loves to squeal/high pitched scream too. And also raises her head and slams it on the wood floor. She doesn't seem bothered, but ow! Have put a cushion there pfb

janedoe25 · 04/08/2011 18:02

Sorry if I embarrassed you chocco I shall keep those things to myself from now on. Smile

wigglesrock · 04/08/2011 18:13

God you've all been chatty, did I not tell you you're not supposed to talk if I'm not here Grin

Puss glad you had a nice visit, my car eats money Shock

chocoroo posted on your thread Wink

delia lovely to hear from you again

Well funfair/park/seaside/Hell with bouncy castles was bearable great, weather held, S&O were ok with the amount of rides, gos on the bouncy stuff they were allowed but we are all knackered. S&O tucked up watching CBeebies in our room and I'm about to bring up midnight feast Grin which will consist of juice, crisps, chocolate, cucumber and banana, have been inspired by the exceptionally judgey parenting thread Grin

chocoroo · 04/08/2011 18:25

ponyo and wiggles thank you for popping on to the thread. I didn't want to be eaten alive! Sorry to hear about your accidents though, especially you wiggles with the girls in the car.

puss R slams her hand on the floor too. I've started surrounding her with cushions. I'm totally pfb!

jane No posting on here...off you go to get sore :)

Agh. Wakey baby...better go!

Agh. She's waking up

WeAreBorg · 04/08/2011 19:22

choc and puss Nate slaps his hand on the floor but mainly on his thigh so I just need to get him some leiderhosen to complete the look. He also slams his heels and head on the floor and I have been even more ridiculous and PFB than you as have ordered carpets to cover our nice wooden floors. TBF it was freezing this winter and wind was howling through the gaps so I've at least got them for that reason too.

The Squealing , aargh it's ear-splitting. Can't wait till he gets a new sound. He said Piss today which I liked though.

wiggles sounds like you've tired to girls out!

delia we, and I think ponyo does as well have a M&P sola. I got it as was highly recommended by Which, but it steers like a supermarket trolley. N seems to find it comfy though. I want some kind of jogger thingy but can't justify buying another one especially as keep randomly buying carpets

OOh, N sounds like he is refusing to settle to sleep, off I go.........

WeAreBorg · 04/08/2011 19:31

It's okay, DH has gone.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the weaning advice, have bought the organix thingys and will try not to eat them myself. ledkr you're right, I'll keep on with the baby rice and get him to eat a bit more of that then move on, I'm happy with how he's going, just random friends and relatives keep accusing me of starving him Hmm

Aquarium was nice, was rather disappointed with Ns reaction, he's usually really nosy and interested in everything, but he wasn't really arsed. I must have looked like a real tit though, I was reading all the info to him and pointing everything out. He just sucked his thumb. He is only 5.5m old. He is unlikely to be interested in the fact that an octopus has 3 hearts, blue blood and a beak. But I was!!

ILovePonyo · 04/08/2011 20:06

Ahh borg thats really sweet, reading all the info to N! Bet you didn't look a tit either :) dd keeps slamming her heels onto our wooden floor too and I wince every time (pfb too) She's not that tough, she boos whenever her head bumps on it.

I am the other person with the sola and you summed it up perfectly with supermarket trolley Grin

wiggles midnight feast, what a great idea! You noticed the judgey thread too then Confused Fascinating reading. Well done surviving the fairground.

puss boo to the car, mine had its mot recently and passed no problems, I was amazed! If something needs fixing its never cheap though is it.

I'm away from fri to sunday (incase you all worry about me and wonder where I am Wink) mum is having dd fri and sat night (OH GOD) and me and dp are going to chichester for little break. Am really looking forward to lie-ins spending time with dp but I am worrying SO much about leaving dd. And I can rationalise it - I know my mum can cope etc etc - but that doesn't help. Plus she's been fussing on her bottles and just gone to bed only having had 2oz. Oh dear - any reassurance welcomed!

On another note, have just sprayed some fake tan in a can on my leg and it went orange Hmm that was a waste of money

Emski76 · 04/08/2011 20:08

Borg, I was very interested to learn those facts about octopuses.....hope that makes up for Nates disinterest!
Noah also does the screaming and shrieking, usually when he's tired or frustrated. Very embarrassing when in public. He also makes a clicking noise a lot. Very funny but strange.
Choc, I can't believe these threads end up so confrontational! All the op asked for was figures she could expect to claim and some dickhead comes on with their opinion on claims. Sometimes I find mnet so aggressive and unpleasant, rant over. Btw, I have also claimed after a car accident, guy behind went up my backside on the motorway and basically squashed my car in between his and the car in front. I got £2500, it bought me a new car after he wrote off my car! Fair do's I say!
Glad you had a good day Wiggles. It was pouring with rain this morning but brightened up nicely this afternoon, thank goodness. Nothing worse than being stuck in with two kids!

Emski76 · 04/08/2011 20:12

Ponyo, x posted. Enjoy your nights away, dd will be fine, honestly. I'm sure your mum is prepared for anything! I'd love a weekend away! Not til mine and dh wedding anniversary next year! Have a fantastic time!

wigglesrock · 04/08/2011 20:13

ILovePonyo - A will be absolutely fine, your Mum will love it, it will be a special time for the two of them. She will not fuss with your Mum and if she does your Mum won't view it as fussing. Even if A doesn't sleep the best, your Mum knows its only for 2 nights. You need time for you and dp, enjoy catching up on your sleep [wink wink nudge nudge]

Borg Mine always loved the Aquarium, but they were always really quiet and almost zoned out, think it was a sensory thing, it was always darkish, cool and the water always cast really cool shadows, God I sound a bit druggy, must have been at Annas' teething powders.

We put rubber jigsaw style playmats from ELC for our wooden floors, 4 big squares, Anna can sit and she has discovered putting her hands down in front of her just before she face plants. She had a great time earlier playing with all her bits and pieces and trying to eat a Barbies hair Blush

reastie · 04/08/2011 21:25

ponyo you will have a fab time (and I was thinking wink wink nudge nudge like wiggles Wink ) and A will be fine I'm sure, and, you're only a phone call away in the unlikely event of your mum needing to check about anything.

choc not to worry re: bedding but if you hunt any out and it's going in the disposal pile you know who to contact Grin . Btw I read your thread but I didn't have any experience of knoweldge to be able to comment. I thought you came back with a response to the comments very articulatory though.

borg I too found to octopus info v interesting thanks Grin and love your excuse to buy carpet Wink

Alice is desperately trying to move on her tummy now - she lifts her arms and legs off the ground and looks like she's trying to swim Grin . She can sort of gradually pivot herself round in a circle but that's as far as it ever gets.

oooohhhhh - can you please finish a argument debate between dh and I. You know when you hide your los face behind a muslin/blanket etc and then when you remove it you say 'peepo' very excitedly? (hoping it's not just me). Well, do you say 'peepo' or 'beebo'? DH thinks it's beebo but I'm convinced it's peepo. He says his mum always said beebo but I think it's just as she cant talk properly her accent Hmm Wink

wigglesrock · 04/08/2011 21:29

reastie we say peekaboo Grin That's exactly how Anna moves, she can do a great tummy spin. Mr W swore she was trying to crawl in her cot yesterday but I think he was being a little Precious Third Born Grin

reastie · 04/08/2011 21:30

articulatory??? i think i mean articulately Blush

i keep meaning to ask ledkr if she's in contact with pinkie still and how she is?

PussInConverse · 04/08/2011 21:32

reastie It's peepo. Or pee poo according to my aunt Hmm.

emski we have the clicking here too. V bizarre. The high-pitched screaming is when she's excited or happy. The neighbours hate us, I'm sure!

reastie · 04/08/2011 21:32

the argument thickens wiggles - peepo, beebo or peekaboo Hmm .

I think I say peepo as I had the book 'peepo' when I was little if anyone remembers it

ILovePonyo · 04/08/2011 21:41

Oh dear, I say beebo but thats what my mum says too (west mids).

Thanks for reassurance re: dd, I know she'll be fine but that won't stop me worrying! SWomething I'm very good at Hmm
Am looking foward to reporting back and saying how good its all been (oh and wiggles and reastie with your dirty minds... well you're right haha {wink])

wiggles jigsaw pieces for the floor sound like a good idea, I'll be checking out ELC next week Grin

emski What month is your wedding anniversary? The scary thing is I imagine it'll be next year before we know it Confused

ILovePonyo · 04/08/2011 21:44

Just noticed, you lot will be on a new thread by the time I'm back from my mini hol!

wigglesrock · 04/08/2011 21:45

Have conferred with the oracle that is Mr W - he says cuckoo!! Neither of us have ever heard of beebo or peepo, thinks this is one of those jokes you play on me like when I had to ask what an icandy or bumbo was! Grin

janedoe25 · 04/08/2011 22:04

wiggles i say "peekaboo* too! The only peepo i have heard is a childrens book.Grin

wigglesrock · 04/08/2011 22:09

I knew it jane, I've never even heard of the book and I'm good with books Grin

ledkr · 04/08/2011 22:28

Borg.which aquarium were you at,i was in Bristol and saw loads of babies Dillies age to make me feel guilty for leaving her
