wandering I have been known to contemplate the what would MNetters do but then I tend to pick the opposite way Grin I can't think where Olivia gets her stubborness from Hmm

Right off to place the Tescos order, must remember Fruit Shoots, frozen pizzas, jars of baby food, fizzy juice, formula and lots of bright pink toys for all of the girls Grin

WanderingSheep · 01/08/2011 21:12

Choc I'm a nightmare when watching programs that feature newborns! They're just so tiny and scrunchy and it makes me want another, I'd love more babies, just not more children (if that makes sense)

Wiggles don't forget the Findus Crispy Pancakes - I love them, with Birdseye Potato waffles, mmm

reastie · 01/08/2011 21:32

thanks ledkr - I'm picturing my nhs ww as a cross between victoria woods exercise sketch and fat fighters from little britain Confused [slightly scared] . I found out about it as I saw a leaflet for a council scheme in a visitor centre about 2 years ago and thought Hmm 'that's good they offer all that for free' but was vaguely fit and healthy then. After Alice I looked on my council website and it took some hunting but I found the scheme. In my area it's called 'why weight?' and btw if you're looking for sth similar they don't advertise it too obviously - maybe they are worried too many people will go on it. Oh - and you have to be something like at least 3 stone overweight in my area to join Blush which probably rules most of you ladies out anyway Envy

ledkr have you done them on a high temperature on a really good cotton wash? Our cotton wash cleans things soooo much better than any of the other washes which I sometimes shove a mixed bundle in. You can get milton was washing machines too - that might help.

My mum used wiggles method of postponing me to get my ears pierced with the 'you're not allowed that until you're 11' line. I think I had them done on my 11th birthday - I was so desperate Grin

yes wiggles alice was weighed - she's 14lbs 1/2 oz (that half oz is important you know Wink )

ledkr what did you have with your sweet potato mash in the end? [lurker]

byronicheroine · 01/08/2011 21:36

Yy I too think "what would MN say?" and I've also been known to write posts in my head while doing something boring like hanging out washing!

I had my ears pierced for the first time on my 9th birthday, which I think is quite early but didn't do me any harm... Hmm I then had them done a couple more times and my belly done at 16. I still have that in btw, but don't get it out anymore for fear of scaring small children not sure why I kept it really! Sentimental reasons?

ponyo think us oldest kids get it worse as we have to trailblaze for younger siblings. I tried really hard and broke all the rules but my little sister was a goody two shoes well behaved!

Ok, won't get on much for the next couple of weeks I expect, but know that I'm thinking of you all and will expect a full catch up :)
take care

40Weeks · 01/08/2011 21:43

Ello

debka great news about your mum, I can't imagine how you/she must feel, just brilliant.

ledkr Ha ha at shell suit wearing fat specialists, really made me laugh. Why oh why are you all able to see each others threads so easily? Now you have hidden it, how can I find it, I want to read it wiggles did you get MrW on the case?

ponyo I have two tattoos and really want one more - I also used to have nose and belly button peirced and dh had tongue done in early twenties. What a picture I have painted. What are you thinking of having done?

hello wandering good to see you again

Mikey been a right old pickle today, doesn't know what he wants, poor love. Owen on the other hand has nearly brought me to my knees with his tantrums. He screamed so much I put him in the garden, I just don't know what to do.

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 01/08/2011 21:55

40Weeks pet, ledkr has hidden the thread from herself, its still there in Chat, page 4 Should it just be Mums who get flexible working hours? She hasn't actually made the thread go poof Grin I don't know how Reastie does it?

byronicheroine you're right I'm an older sister, bloody younger sister got away with blue murder Grin Have a fab time.

Four4me · 01/08/2011 22:01

Wow you have been very chatty!

Excellent news deb so pleased for you.

Hiya knitta it is me justonemoreplease hope you are doing ok? These ladies will look after you on here.

Hello everyone else sorry just quickly read through, so chaotic here with trips out etc etc. The children have been really good, it is just full on! Knackered by the time i get sat down on an evening! Archie is having some baby porridge with fruit purée for breakfast and some veg at tea time but I think he is having a growth spurt as he is feeding a lot in the day.

Waiting to her from my good friend who is 5 days overdue, she has gone into hospital to be monitored as baby hasn't been moving much. Feel so useless sat at home. She texted me earlier to say they have sent her for a walk then they are going to monitor her again and hopefully give her a sweep. She has been really struggling in this humidity, swollen hands and ankles. Fingers crossed I'm an Auntie four4me very soon!

reastie · 01/08/2011 22:02

how I do what wiggles ?

Forgot to say but v important - good news re no active cancer Grin Grin . is she feeling a bit better now chemo has finished?

janedoe25 · 01/08/2011 22:06

four4me hope everything goes well for your friend.

wigglesrock · 01/08/2011 22:11

reastie find people on threads, re sweet potato.

Right, off to bed, going to read and luxuriate in our child free bedroom, we worked it out, this is the first time in almost 4 years that we haven't had one of the girls in with us at some point in the night Shock, what's worse is that the bedroom seems too big and quiet Blush

40Weeks · 01/08/2011 22:12

Sorry wiggles I was looking for it under her threads for quickness, you mean try the old fashioned route, ah ok.

OP posts:
reastie · 01/08/2011 22:12

blimey you can tell i'm tired - meant to put that last remark to deb [yawn]

44me will you let us know how your friend gets on? hope all is OK.

reastie · 01/08/2011 22:13

I think I do it the same way as it sounds like 40 does it - click on the name of the person on the thread and the profile shows the last few threads that person has posted on [stalker]

wigglesrock · 01/08/2011 22:18

Ah, I see, you big bunch of stalkers Grin, time to hide any rude ones I've been on Grin. Night, night

ledkr · 01/08/2011 22:39

deb great news, are you planning anything nice to celebrate?
wiggles thanks for the support, ive never been called classy before, the shut up sassy made me giggle for ages, very any fucker i thought. I was so defensive of dh who despite my moaning does absolutley loads for Dilly and Ella,he gets up in the night and early even if has work at 7,he is just not a person who likes to make a fuss as you and mr w said it is just not deemed acceptable for men to do it. psst- i actually believe if you choose a job like emergency service or child protection you should expect to work shifts as that is your (well paid) job! id get slaughtered.
I also started aschool holiday drunk thread which was very well recieved.

Ella wanted her ears pierced from about 6 and i said no no no,however she had to have a piece of tooth root removed last year and was very scared and said no for ages,it was very painfull then one day she asked again about her ears,i said well if you cant have a tooth out how can you get your ears pierced, she said she would have the tooth out and did,so im afraid i had no choice but to stick to my word, she was 8,dont think dh will let Dilly untill shes about 45.
Reastie ill pm you back tomorrow.

Dilly wouldnt settle tonight and ended up sat in her high chair trying to make us all laugh while we ate. Dh has got her off in her pram so we will move her soon.

ponyo Dilly sometimes falls asleep without her last bottle, ive never found it makes any difference.

Four4me · 01/08/2011 22:48

Thanks will let you know what happens, haven't heard any more she was going for a walk and then back on the monitor at 9.30. She hasn't had the smoothest of rides as far as parenting has been it took 4 years to have their dd (4years old). Then after a few years of nothing happening again she went on Clomid and the first month worked and baby was due like us this feb, sadly she had a mc. Then a couple of months of it not working then this preg. Luckily it meant she was preg by feb when she would have been due and also when Archie arrived which she said made it a bit easier. She was a rock to me when Thomas was born and has been through all my highs and lows with him. Hopes she has a nice quick and easy labour very soon.

hubbard86 · 02/08/2011 00:04

still under quarantine here as freya still has the pox. Can't catch up on the gossip as you lot talk too much. My bff had a baby boy last wed, went to see him today a cutie but with a definate old man face. You really do forget how little they are as charlie is about the same weight as freya was, maybe even slightly heavier. Didn't even get broody while i looked after him so his mum could nap for an hour. Hope everyones keeping well xx

ledkr · 02/08/2011 07:28

Thought this would amuse you. mumset at its best.I dont get going till the 2nd page but the whole thread is priceless. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1271418-Not-to-let-my-DS-to-play-because-they-have-a-problem-with-me-DH

sorry you are still poxy hubbs-grin,cant be long now?

rubbish night here, els screaming with leg ache at 4am so came in with me and dh to spare room.Dilly woke before 6 proving the point that late night/no naps = early morning.just waiting for her to nap so i can crash out on sofa.

wigglesrock · 02/08/2011 09:23

Four4me hope your friend has lovely news this morning.

hubbard86 Poor Freya and poorer you! Hope pox lifts soon Grin

ledkr I saw that thread last night, but stopped looking at it just before you posted, think I had my fill of it when a poster told the OP she should go to NetMums - I hate that kind of snobbery. I got involved in a big hoohaa a while back about someone rewriting a post so that the more refined Mumsnetters could read it, I think I may have had the temerity to call a long term poster condescending. If you can't read it, move along, no need to make someone who is posting for advice feel like a dick. Rant over, see what you started Grin

When you say Els had leg ache, do you mean what my Mum would call "growing pains", Sofia is absolutely tortured with them at the minute, usually around evening times, would make her cry. Do you give Els anything?

jane have you any mindees this week?

MizK · 02/08/2011 09:25

hubbard sorry you still have the lurgy at your house, at least you're getting it over with, adults can get really ill if they havent caught it as a child (every cloud and all that...)
wiggles I cannot take the collective mumsnet approval seriously after reading a thread in which they were deciding which colours of Le Creuset were common. I think I passed muster with having red otherwise I would obviously have launched the whole lot into the bin.... Oh also another gem was one woman explaining quite seriously that she dressed her linen cupboard...ie tied bundles with ribbon and decorative lavender sachets....there are no words.
debka what fab news about your mum, I bet thats a huge relief.
reastie how good does your weight loss thing sound! Maybe take some before and after pics a la celeb slimmers!
BTW a little tale to make us all appreciate our DPs - my SIL has just had a baby boy, and her DH used his paternity leave to go on a 3 day golf trip. The baby was 5 days old when he went and bear in mind she is BF and has a 3 year old son who is insanely clingy especially since the new baby arrived. She didnt even bitch about it! no wonder DP thinks I'm a dragon with such submissive women in his family. I would kill him if he tried anything like that.
Hello to everyone else!

MizK · 02/08/2011 09:39

PS ledkr just read the thread you linked to.... the level of sanctimoniousness is hilarious! Sorry Heather feck off to netmums where you belong....too funny. My favourite part was you pointing out that crocs are a definition of the word unpleasant. To that I say: Amen, sister. Some mums at school have pink ones bedazzled with little jewel things....

wigglesrock · 02/08/2011 09:42

MizK I read that thread too, Grin, thank Christ they weren't blue. I already fail the Mumsnet test because I have vertical blinds, wooden floors, pleather leather sofas and Ikea bookcases. I also use words like toilet instead of loo, have been known to use the word settee instead of sofa, but worst of all - all my childrens names end in the same vowel Shock Grin.

Angry and Shock at your bil.

janedoe25 · 02/08/2011 09:44

ledkr well done on putting the others right on that thread! the snobbery on mn is shocking at times.

mizk excuse the lanuage, but i would have strung him up by the balls! Bloody golfing trip on paternity leave!

wiggles i have the baby again today, just waiting on her arrival at 10 am.

hope everyone has a fab day Grin

debka · 02/08/2011 09:54

Well done ledkr, stupid snobs not looking any further than bad grammar.

mizk my le creuset pan that I got in the sales is yellow, do I pass?? Grin

Early start here too, 5.15, but only one night feed and I was in bed at 9 so I don't mind.

Imy is a proper little madam ATM, we are having screaming tantrums all over the place, it's exhausting. Had to put her in her bedroom for 2 minutes this morning for hitting me as I picked her up from the floor where she was screaming because she didn't want to get dressed. Now watching the sainted Mr Tumble with some juice.

hubbard hope you have a nice garden you can escape to relax in, being house-bound.

debka · 02/08/2011 09:56

mizk meant to say Shock at your bil, but if he's like my DH she might have been glad to get rid of him for a while!
