i'm fine just a little fed up. Don't speak to il's so i don't worry about then. My sis takes advantage a lot and just turns up and expects me to babysit and if i say no i get the emotional blackmail. She only ever turns up when she wants something. Had a run in with my ex stepmother and her vile daughter yesterday. As i ignored them and refused to talk to them the troll that used to be my step sister shouted abuse after me. I don't know what else they expect after what she's said to me. I'll be fine just lots of things running around in my head that i don't seem to have space for.

ledkr · 10/07/2011 23:17

blimey hubbard what a nightmare, just look down your bloody nose at their commoness,as my gay friend would say "you dont go brawling in the street when you've got a vagina and a nice handbag" Grin
Must be hard to cope with an extra child, ive not even had my dgs yet since dilly came.
Sorry tarlia ive missed something, whats up with little Z?
we;ll done on the prep jane.good progress.
Reastie do tell about the stalker,do you want me to get him?
Hope they all sleep ok,especially mine Grin

hubbard86 · 10/07/2011 23:23

stupid cake fell apart as i was taking it out the tin, perfect ending to a crappy weekend

Tarlia · 10/07/2011 23:29

Urg, Hubbard, what cows, poor you! Im sorry your sister plays the guilt card, thats so tough. I hope you are ok, we are here if you need to get things off yOur chest. I hope you can try and block it out for a while, so you can enjoy your special day.

Possible teething, led, not entirely sure he is incredibly sad and not himself, had hot cheeks this morning, but not afternoon, not really any other outward signs.

Tarlia · 10/07/2011 23:30

Oh no! Sad So sorry.

40Weeks · 10/07/2011 23:47

That's rubbish Hubbard what nasty specimens they sound like

Went to bed a half hour ago and it's like someone pushed the "alert" switch with the kids. Each of them has woken up, at least once so I am now watching "in her shoes" as sleep seems pointless. Nearly euthanized the cat who decided to sleep on the stairs. In the dark. Cow.

Another busy weekend on here! I'll have to write notes just to keep up and remember everyone's news. Wink

It was indeed a radio flyer wagon, americanexpat! I have a cheap one from Target which is worth its weight in gold for lugging tired kids home from parties, round pumpkin patches or to the pool! A did look very cute getting all woozy from the meds, lying in the wagon. It has been hard work getting her to drink and E has struggled with all the attention she's been getting.

Hope the pox lifts soon 40.
Congrats on the bridesmaid dress Jane.
Sorry about your dsis hubbard and I hope you have a wonderful birthday today.
Glad Alice is sleeping reastie.
Ledkr has convinced me to get the Wire out on DVD, one episode down, don't know how many more to go. That Idris though..... Wink

I hope all the babies are still sleeping and you have a great start to Monday. Apologies to anyone I have missed. I have been reading this literally all day!

tadjennyp · 11/07/2011 04:27

Sorry, missed the second page entirely. That's crap hubbard, sorry you have to go through that. Can you make trifle with the cake? Failing that, warm with butterscotch/chocolate sauce and ice cream?

byronicheroine · 11/07/2011 06:21

Yay, happy new thread :)
missed a few pages due to DP's work BBQ yesterday where I passed the baby around and managed to sneak in a few Wine
hubbard happy birthday :o hope you have a lovely day. You know that the cake will still taste the same which is surely the most important thing (sorry to all you super duper cake decorators out there!). Also yy to choc sauce all over it, maybe some ice cream, noone will care! Hope you get spoiled rotten
reastie hope you had a repeat sleep performance
ledkr glad you had fun at the meeting, would love to see some big brother style footage from that (complete with comedy voice over "it's 9 pm and MN royalty getorf is sinking drinks with relative newcomer ledkr....." and there my imagination fails. You'll have to fill in the details)

byronicheroine · 11/07/2011 06:26

Also, so tired i forgot this: I had a bad back for a while and so perched the baby bath on the loo and filled it using the shower. You can see where this is going, right? Got distracted by MN something important and cue water all over the floor. Sure there's more I've done ;)
tarlia I've heard amber is great, and also iris root Hmm if you can get hold of any. Hope you are both feeling better today

we've started on Luther as of last night you bullies useful lot, loving it so far

janedoe25 · 11/07/2011 07:35

hubbard happy birthday! Hope you have a fab day. the ex-steps sound like outstanding citizens! I agree with ledkr you are so much better than them! As for the sister, i have one of those too. Really hope you are ok and DH spoils you today

God i do daft stuff all the time and i can't blame it on a baby! Yesterdat i drove 4 miles with the handbrake on whilst i was wondering what the hell the beeping sound was!

reastie · 11/07/2011 07:55

happy birthday hubbard - hope your dh has behaved himself so far and you will have a lovely day with lots of baby cuddles. I agree with cake usage suggestions (although it isn't quite the same as having a 'proper' bday cake iyswim). I'm going to add baked alaska into the mix of things you could do with it Grin

jane I Grin at your handbrake story. I did something similar a couple of weeks ago on I had left the door by alice open (as in looked like it was closed from the drivers seat but was completely unlocked and nothing except good luck kept it closed). I didn't realise until i was nearly home and felt terrible Blush

byron love the big bro style voiceover idea

ledkr yeah - sort out the stalker Grin no idea who or where in cheltenham he is though. maybe you should just walk around town looking really menacing and mumbling something relevant which might scare him off Wink

40 dhs cat used to do the same thing re: sleeping on the stairs - drove me mad. i wonder how many cat/human fatalities/injuries there have been from this. Btw must have been something in the air around us re: waking up last night as alice woke up and screamed/moaned for TWO HOURS last night Confused [shattered]

wigglesrock · 11/07/2011 08:03

hubbard Happy birthday xxx

chocoroo · 11/07/2011 08:18

Happy birthday Hubbard! have a fab day.

Got up and realised house is a total tip - I tidied everywhere on Friday, went away over night on Sat and have returned to a total mess again. Does anyone else feel really resentful to their DP over things like this? He did what he wanted all weekend (with the exception of or load of washing) and I can't see that I'll ever get that again. Rahhhhhhh!

ILovePonyo · 11/07/2011 08:20

Happy birthday hubbard! Hmm to your ex stepm and her daughter, best thing is to ignore, they sound vile. Sorry to hear about your sis too, not what you need when you;ve got a little one, hope you have a fab day today and get some nice presents :)

tarlia i've not heard of amber for teething,. where did you hear about that? Let us know how you get on!

reastie sorry to hear about A, 2 hours how do you do it? Which reminds me, the other day I was with my 2 (childless) friends and dd had a massive screaming fit for about 5 mins b'cos she was hungry whilst I was getting bottle ready, the look on their faces was priceless, they've never heard her cry like that before Grin

byronic I;m also loving the big bro voiceover, now we just need ledkr to fill in the gaps... Wink

Is anyone using 'normal' buggy yet? Does that even make sense?! I'm still using car seat on buggy but might try changing to proper buggy soon, don't know if there are any guidelines as to when you should...

ILovePonyo · 11/07/2011 08:22

Yes choco, dp is a teacher so I am not looking forward to the mess that will accumulate every day when he's off for 6 weeks soon...

Emski76 · 11/07/2011 08:24

Happy Birthday Hubbard. Enjoy your day and sod everyone else!
Tiredness mishaps, I bought a pack of spoons for Noah, took one out and put the rest somewhere. Don't know where as have searched the kitchen and cannot find them. Am thinking I put them in the bin. Also drove Ben to nursery once without strapping him into his car seat! Only a short drive but blimey did I feel bad!
I've recently bought Amber anklet for Noah. I don't think he's teething yet so let me know how it works Tarlia.
Off to in laws today with the boys to meet up with dh cousin who's baby was born three weeks before Noah.
Have good days.

ledkr · 11/07/2011 09:23

Hi all, well the key is in the late nap,d napped 4.30-5.15 and then bed at 7.30 and slept till 7am,phew,the only thing is i feel i am now locked into a strict routine.
Happy Birthday Hubbard. If nobody goes out of their way for you take control, when i was on my own i used to get my hair or nails done on my birthday and treat mnyself to a nice dinner.
Jane when i lived in crete i hird acar and drove it miles with the hb on,i waas cursing its slowness too!*
Choco Did you catch my post re when i came back from the meet up? He had done nothing and was "too tired to get undressed" he was late inlast night so no bedtime help and then i heard him agree to play football tonight which he can strangely finish work for, which leaves me to cook, bath kids and do bedtime AGAIN im simmering quietly and intend to cook for me and ella and not for him,he can get his own, bloody p taker.
Get orf didnt come im afraid,i was gutted. We didnt really talk about mn we were too busy drinking.
Re the wire. The first few series are a bit slow, you have to get into it and then you'll be hooked.I was loving the new law and order last night and 40 In her shoes is my fav film,i just love it,always cry too.

chocoroo · 11/07/2011 12:00

ponyo I'm not sure what's worse...at home only in the eve or all the time! Make sure you give him at least one daily job

ledkr OMG! Too tired to get undressed?! Mine was on a stag do on Sat eve and managed to lock himself out. Fool. He's usually good but he plays football twice a week already and if he goes out one might too the house is strewn with dirty cups, mucky kit and plates. I'd leave it for him to do but I have to be at home all day in the mess. Maybe we should put them in a bag together and shake it hard!

reastie · 11/07/2011 12:04

keep forgetting to say was it ponyo who said they did a thread on cot matresses and was hers too bouncy? that made me Grin (but in an understanding way as I do the same sort of things Wink )

I have no idea what an amber anklet is but I'm imagining a piece of baby jewlrey Hmm

bored now as was due for a mums meet up from one of my classes but now cancelled as one of them was in a car accident Shock . might go shopping for shoes for alices christening after lunch Grin

ponyo we use the car seat in buggy base too. We actually set up the 'big girls' buggy bit a couple of weeks ago but she was way too small for it - it was quite laughable how she looked Grin . but obv mine might be different to yours so not wanting to put you off.

I know I came on here to say something else but just can't remember now. Oh well.

reastie · 11/07/2011 12:07

oh yeah - the beckham baby called harper seven beckham Hmm . seven?! and it was a good sized baby too at 7lbs 10 (i think, from memory). I'm suprised victoria managed such a well sized baby as she is teeny tiny and looks like she never eats more than a lettuce leaf . right, must stop celeb gossing chatting, cleaning to do Grin

ILovePonyo · 11/07/2011 13:17

Yes reastie it was me with the cot mattress, people were very nice about it and didn't make me feel like a twat for asking! Grin

Might set up the pram and try her in it, she prob is too small tho.

I've just been cleaning for ages whilst dd has been asleep as and soon as I've started typing this she's woken up Hmm shes grinning at me though so I don't mind too much Grin

Oh yes and I like the name Harper (reminds me of To Kill a Mockingbird) but Seven?! I felt sorry for someone on the other thread who said they'd called their dd Harper, I'd be well annoyed if they'd named her Anya :)
Is 7lbs 10 that small for 4th baby though? I thought they got bigger each time (and am judging VB for being so skinny Wink)

reastie · 11/07/2011 13:24

they get biger every time? didn't know that

chocoroo · 11/07/2011 13:35

Harper was on our list, it didn't go so well with DP's surname though so didn't make the final cut. I love it! And the Seven is his shirt number...I always say middle names are either family names or the ones with the good story. Although, I'm not sure Seven classes as a name at all!

The getting bigger thing is one of (a multitude of) reasons why I'm not convinced on having another!

ponyo Guess is depends on pram. We've had R in her buggy thing for about 6 weeks - it's an Oyster. But she is huge!

Feeling better now as have done supermarket shop, washed and line dried two nearly three loads, done the weeding and made soup. DP can be as lazy as he likes but I'm just going to rise above it!

40Weeks · 11/07/2011 14:37

Wow chocoroo you can have today's award for busiest mum!

M is still in his pram ie the flat bit but will move to the push hair bit soon as I think he would like to be able to sit up.

And my babies have got smaller. Thomas was the first and biggest (9lb7) but was two weeks overdue. Owen was 8lb14 and one week over and Mikey was 8lb7 and 2 days late. If it was a planned c section I guess she wasn't full term anyway. So don't despair that they always get bigger!
