janedoe25 · 02/08/2011 22:13

manged? managed - see told you im not a proper mumsnetter my grammar is pants!

wigglesrock · 02/08/2011 22:18

reastie can I admit a snigger at you eating the carrot organix Grin, I nor the girls have ever tried them but am buying some tomorrow, my best friend swears by them.

NeedToSleep white trousers, white trousers you say Shock I wouldn't worry I have a few waterfall cardigans which apparently are like soooooo last year, they're from M&S as well (prepares to receive slap on wrist). Its my Nana (my mums mum) who is cancers nemesis Grin

jane hope you enjoyed Zumba, one of the local gyms near us does Zumba for kids, it's really good fun.

debka Grin at Imy at your mums wig, my mums best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer, just got all clear a few months ago and she hated the wig. My dad has a very short buzz cut hair cut (he doesn't have much left tbh) and him and my mums best friend made a vow that when her hair was as long as his, she wouldn't wear the wig anymore. She didn't know he kept sneaking to the hairdressers every week to get his shorter quicker Grin S frostbite should be away for the morning, S&O live on lollies and always get a red mouth Blush

ledkr thanks for advice re "growing pains" I do pretty much the same for Sofia

wigglesrock · 02/08/2011 22:20

jane fandabidozie, that's so much money, well done x

tadjennyp · 02/08/2011 22:45

Well done to debka's Mum and Jane's zumba! Lots of good weaning going on. Smile

Job fell through after all that, so nothing to report on feeding during breaks.

I was prescribed citalopram when ds1 was 51/2 months specifically so I would stop breast-feeding and not feel so guilty about it. I hope you find something that is compatible knitta.

How was your gourmet meal ledkr?

I live in America which often gets a pounding on MN, so no chance of becoming this breed of person known as MN royalty here! Grin

Hello to everyone else and sending lots of sleepy vibes to babies.

debka · 03/08/2011 05:49

Worst night ever here. Bed at 7. Up crying 9-11 with me getting increasingly desparate and her increasingly overtired. Feed at 3. Up for the day at bloody 5.15. I am done in. 5.15. WHY??? WTF??? She's yawning so she's still tired now too.

Last time she did this awake in the night thing she'd just learnt to sit up. Yesterday she rolled over for the first time. Do you think it could be related?

Imy was vile yesterday, tired and whingey, if she's the same today I'm going to die, I'm so tired. No more bloody kids for me, can't wait till they're old enough for me to send them to school.

wiggles freewer burn stil there, stupid baby (stupid mummy)

jane well done you on £££ for sands :)

tadj sorry your job fell through, were you really disappointed?

tadjennyp · 03/08/2011 07:01

Sorry about the lack of sleep debka, my vibes clearly didn't make it across the Atlantic then. Hmm Can you have a DVD, puzzles and colouring day? Crayola.com have some good colouring sheets if you have run out of the cheap books. I was really disappointed about the job, debka. It would have been a whole 16 hours in one week but that would have been the most I have worked in four frigging years. Oh well, can go to the spin class on Thursday instead then! Hope you get some rest, debka.

janedoe25 · 03/08/2011 07:23

debka sorry you had a rough night with S. Hope you have an easy day with the girls, if Imy is out of sorts you could put mr tumble on the bbc i player (yes i am aware of the special powers Justin has over toddlers!). No idea if S sleep is related to her sitting up? Hope you are ok.

tad sorry to hear about the job, you never know something better might come along.

Zumba was very funny, a few of our male friends came along was Grin at them trying to keep up with the moves!

Four4me · 03/08/2011 08:38

Sorry about the bad night debka have a nice easy day.

Well my friend had her baby! Yeah, last night at 10.15 Hattie Grace she was 9 lb 2. Can't wait to see her!

About to go fill the paddling pool up for a day in the garden!

janedoe25 · 03/08/2011 08:55

four4me im glad your friends baby arrived safely, hope they are well Grin

PussInConverse · 03/08/2011 09:12

Yay, nice baby news four.

jane I LOVE zumba - only been once, but it was hilarious. Am so shit though!

debka hope S rewards your hard work with a nice long nap later today!

SIL and MIL are babysitting J for a couple of hours today - first 'proper' time, they've had her for the odd hour, and for a hospital appt before. Guess how I'm spending my 'me' time? Taking car to garage, proofreading (paid at least) and tidying the bedroom. Glamour central.

ledkr · 03/08/2011 09:55

deb poor you, what have you planned?Im not sure its always best to be indoors as you crave a lie on the sofa and it never happens. How about a picnic in the park and maybe S will sleep and moany pants will play? I really feel for you esp as dh doesnt help you much, could be growth spurt or maybe teeth?Im sure dilly is teething as she is not napping long and waking up really tired and half asleep and grizzling,i bought teething powders yesterday.Could you give her some calpol at bedtime,it wont hurt her if nothing is wrong.
jane well done on the Zumba, ive never tried it,im finding it increasingly hard to even walk in this heat.
tad shame about the job,its a worry with work isnt it?They have already mucked about with our pensions and this month have taken our "essential car user allowance" off us,£80 a month for me.I have one case in Devon 140 miles and anither in north yorkshire,i am going to refuse to use my car.Rant over.
wiggles tis funny, when Ella gets growing pains she actually does appear to grow, she is so tall and thin unlike me.
I didnt know mn frowned upon white linens-id wear them if i could get them on grrr,i like them but only with a calvin klein flesh cloured thong.

we had pasta carbonara but with lemon in and a lovely dressed salad with pancetta on,then chocolate ganache and little biscuits. It from the Jamie meals in minutes book, can highly recommend the pasta it was so nice.We ate it late as Dilly slow to settle.I actually felt so sick i considered throwing it up Shock and then thought that was adangerous road to go down.
Was dh turn to get up early with d,he came up late, his phone was vibrating at 1am cos low bat,had 2 pees and then when dillys monitor went off switched it off and went back to sleep. I shouted at him "i hope i never die" haha sometimes its as if they are still children.

Knitta can you let us know you are ok?

Off to the pool today with lots of fruit to cleanse haha

WeAreBorg · 03/08/2011 10:18

Hi all, Blush sorry I have only read the last page so may have missed much excitement, but believe that there is some great news about Debs mum which is brilliant.

Knitta there are a few meds you can take but some GPs might be reluctant as I don't think they are licensed in BF, but apparently ones like sertraline (similar to prozac) have v low levels in milk so relatively safe. Other option is to FF, you have BF for nearly 6m which is great so no harm at all in switching. Not that there is any harm in FF from the start but you know what I mean! You may feel a bit more free ? if you FF too. Hope this doesn't sound like I am pushing FF (I am BF) but sometimes it is so restrictive, I have a few friends that got really down co they could never leave the baby.

I'm meant to be at my exercise class which I have already paid for but N asleep so I can't go. Boo.

Well I went out for the first time ever last night. That's right, in the evening, without the baby! N also only woke at 3 for a quick feed then 7, then at 7 he just sang in his cot so I didn't even have to move then. He was up every 90mins last week so no idea what goes through his brain Confused

WeAreBorg · 03/08/2011 10:21

Sorry wrote FF about a million times in that last post.

BTW so what things do MN say we're not meant to have? DH, bless him, has a vase of twigs and bowl of pebbles from his old flat which I am not allowed to remove. DH also got v excited about a pretty draught excluder last week, and made me buy an oilcloth with little birdies on rather than the dotty one I was going to get. Should I be worried?!

WeAreBorg · 03/08/2011 10:28

ledkr loved the link to that thread. I have never known where apostrophes go but seemed to have managed to function in life. Kind of.

Right, that's me. Don't write a post for ages then 3 come along at once.

wigglesrock · 03/08/2011 10:30

Nooooooooooo to the vase of twigs WeAreBorg apparently its a lot worse if there are twinkly lights in there as well Grin

debka sorry about the shit night, been there [big hug], Sofia is also being a bit vile at the minute, its her tone, I do realise I sound like my Mother Grin, but I can just hear a whatever vibe running through it!! Hope today goes better for you all x

ledkr yummy dinner Envy Mr W is off from now until Fri night but has had to nip in to drop some paperwork off grrrr. It was Mr Ws turn with Anna last night and she had the best sleep she's ever had!! bloody daddys girl Grin

four4me lovely news about friends baby girl, will be lovely to have her and Archie so close in age.

tad sorry about the job.

wigglesrock · 03/08/2011 10:51

ledkr knitta is ok and off to GP this morning.

WeAreBorg · 03/08/2011 11:33

wiggles Shock I put twinkly lights in the vase for Christmas. It was pretty.....I think DH would be upset if we lost the vase. I don't like leather sofas though, they stick to my sweaty thighs [nice]

Forgot to say deb I did hear that the bad sleepers tend to be quite sensitive to new developments. Hence we've had a nightmare 4months, and I am expecting the 8month one to be hell too. Hopefully now she can roll she'll relax and sleep? [hopeful]

reastie · 03/08/2011 14:57

deb I hope you are now napping. How are the beanster and Imy today? All I can think is is it something to do with the weather or do babies get growing/muscle pains when they do new things?

knitta how did GP go?

Went to bluewater this morning and now have cardi and shoes to go with outfit so pretty much all sorted. I know I am being unreasonable but my mum is pestering me to have my aunt to stay for the christening but I really don't want to [unsociable old miserable woman]. DH and I like our own space and are boring enough to not ever have anyone over the stay as it feels like an intrusion upon us (I know I'm being ridiculous) especially given we are up and down all evening with alice and then she usually crys a few times during the night (even if we don't have to get up and just leave her). It's just I'm a bit of an anxious mess in life in general at the minute and I really want to be as calm as possible for the christening as I know when I get in a tizzy alice gets in a foul mood in response and I want her to be as happy as is possible. I'm in a state just thinking about having someone over to stay and how I will cope (which again I know sounds a bit insane and I should get over myself). I just feel like I'm on the edge the whole time anxiety/depression/stress wise and a little thing like this, despite being insignificant, is tipping me over the edge and causing me so much upset but my family don't understand and think I'm just being stupid and keep making me so guilty and using the 'well it's you're christening' line. Maybe I should just get over myself (pours Wine and Blush from ranting when you can see I'm being ridiculous).

ledkr thats interesting what you say about teething and dilly waking up really tired and grizzly as that's what alice did all yesterday (and today a bit too). We had a runny poo today too so maybe things are progressing on the tooth front Hmm

jane well done on the zumba. Did you have air con where you did it? if it was anything like down here yesterday it would have been way too hot to zumba otherwise. Plus, I'm suprised you had the energy given all the, ahem, activities you've been up to lately Wink

pussing how did the afternoon off go?

44me yeah at the good news

tad Sad to job

choc any photos of your bridesmaid outfit? [nosey]

PussInConverse · 03/08/2011 15:45

Afternoon off has turned into afternoon with the ILS, with 20 minutes off now! Am here, rather than being productive...
They won't take DD for a walk in case lightening strikes her. Seriously. (we had thunder earlier on). And I feel I may drown in negativity.
Right, rant over, off to do 20 mins of work (have about 2 hours worth).

My next post will be less about me!!

janedoe25 · 03/08/2011 15:48

knitta hope you are ok?

reastie I see where you are comming from, i wouldn't have your aunt to stay. Can she not stay with your mum? I would tell her she would not sleep well with Alice crying in the night and you would worry about disturbing her.
No air-con in the gym hall,it was boiling hot! it's not particularly sunny here but it is so muggy and hot, we need a good thunder storm to clear the air! (even though i am petrified of thunder storms!)

debka hope your having a good day.

reastie · 03/08/2011 16:09

puss lightening?! Shock Hmm

jane I feel Blush about my rant Confused . My Mum is having my grandad and sisters bf (who in fairness doesn't take up any extra space as he comes alot but I guess will be an extra person for the bathroom - but then they have 2 bathrooms) will be over which is making me feel really guilty about having to have my aunt Hmm . We would prob have aunt staying down stairs on some kind of camp bed to try and limit disruption and if Alice really screams in the night like she does sometimes dh takes her down stairs so he can at least watch some tv and let me get some sleep but can't do that if aunt is here (or could but would then disturb her). I feel so terrible for even thinking this and being mean let alone saying it on here Blush

janedoe25 · 03/08/2011 16:34

reastie you sound alot like me, well the old me before Zoe. I used to agree to everything and anything to keep the peace, but now the only thing i am interested in is keeping DF and I happy. We do what suits us and if anyone sees that as me being selfish they can go stuff themselves!
Oh and don't be embarrassed about your rant, its good to get things out.

tadjennyp · 03/08/2011 17:42

That's rubbish about your travel allowance ledkr and Oliver fecking Letwin can feck off get lost with his idea of introducing fear into the public sector. There might well be some waste and lazy arses about but that is no reason to get rid of services that are essential for a decent society or make them much harder to carry out. Angry on your behalf. Ella's dinner sounds lush though!

If it's going to make you more anxious having your aunt to stay, then explain that to your Mum reastie. Maybe talking it over may help you feel calmer.

Good news from your friend 44me!

Sorry about your lack of work time puss. The sort of thing my ILs used to do to me!

Yay to a night out Borg. Grin Anywhere we'd know?

Debka, hope your day has been ok. Sammy has been up from about 4.30 too. I'm on adrenaline at the moment but then it's only 9.30 in the morning here! Check out starfall and colouring pages if you are running out of ideas!

Is Sofia your eldest wiggles? My Anna (5 1/2 going on 15) has a right attitude and lip on her at the moment. Is it wrong for me to be excited at her starting school? Wink

Hot and sweaty zumba, Jane! Wink

I hope all tea times are going nicely. Let us know how you got on knitta.

knittakid · 03/08/2011 17:42

Hello, so many things i want to reply to but am on the blipping phone and txting is such a pita. Thanks for the help/advice and good wishes, gp's given me pwhatsit, the only one that can work with bf that she's happy with.
Where's the list of aproved mn stuff?
We've made the bed safe now for the super roller who now also proudly sports a tooth (sharp and pointy).
Echo what others have said to tad, f4me, deb, reastie ems, and others. Xx Hello, so many things i want to reply to but am on the blipping phone and txting is such a pita. Thanks for the help/advice and good wishes, gp's given me pwhatsit, the only one that can work with bf that she's happy with.

X-posted knitta. Glad you have got some meds that work with bfing. That must be a load of guilt lifted straightaway. Onwards and upwards now.

Envy of Emski being able to run! Which L&O did you watch? Did they make a new series of the UK one? I managed to get that on DVD over here on region one but haven't seen a new one.
