July 2010: Drool it, maul it, crawl over it - that's how our threadbabes would eat a creme egg. But why the Creme Egg?!

Oh good lord there's at least 300 posts since I went away.

I'll be back in about, ooh, 2 weeks when I've read them all.

Chulita · 06/06/2011 06:14

dylthan I was lying in bed last night wondering where you'd got to. I didn't realise you were in the RAF too!

wss nice to have you back again!

S didn't wake up overnight but was up at 5.30. I had been letting him cry til 6am but he's started waking L up who then can't hack the mornings so I've got up with him today.Really wish I hadn't.

needle you are a complete and utter loon. Shred at midnight?!?

Relax cake ladies, we've still got 44 posts left, that should do us til 10am ish.

Welcome dilli, some of us have chronic cases of verbal diarrhoea so you can't ignore this thread for long or you never catch up!

Argh, L's up anyway, what on earth was the point?

MelissaM · 06/06/2011 06:43

(post typed at 3am but wldn't post so.sorry for spelling etc)
Mini survey1

Walking: almost! Cruising like a pro, has been taking 2.or 3 steps for over a week then managed 10 (even turning round) today a few times. Gonna be soon :-)
AF: not yet (and hopefully not for at least 3 week when I'm back from holiday [hopeful emoticon]
Teeth : 8

Survey 2

No of bf's: 3 to 5 (6.30/7am sometimes a top up around 9/9.30 if he asks for it, 1.30/4pm (depends when he fed earlier, & when he want it) 6.30pm and 1 short feed/drink overnight.

All this goes out the window when he's ill though and he could deem every couple of hours, but not have a decent feed iykwim

Position etc: usually he lays across me and sometimes lying down morning deem it when he's not well (or we're camping and I cba! Pinching biting fish hooking etc all goes on here. The biting mainly if he gets startled when feeding e shouts or junta around

Had a rather hectic/full.on day.today. dh set off early for charity bike ride. Phoned at 7.30am to say clutch had gone. E was so hyper Eas driving me nuts. L's abx have.kicked.in so changing pooey nappies every hour or two (and sore tummy making him whingey) picnic room forever to prep and mil was late coming to.pick.us up and when she got here didn't do much. In fairness.she wasn't feeling great. Had to all drive to where dh's car was to get carseat, pushchair, E's bike etc. When got there had forgotten spare key and Dh hadn't left his (was at friends garage. Ended up sending dc's with mil (were in her car anyway as I didn't have seat for L) and coming home for spare then.going back.to garage and then on to gosport. By 1 I was exhausted.and hadn't even managed a cuppa
Day.did improve though and I even left L to cio and he only took a few mins to fall asleep :-) you'd have been proud if me Mlic.
Unfortunately can't sleep as.had a coffee.when we got.home. should've had decaf!

Right gonna try sleep again cos I've got a busy day 2moro (L's.development check at.other.side.if town, it probably the hardest part.to get to by foot and my.Physio. was meant to go to a church group in the morning too, but will be over by the time I've walked from the hv's. Coffee in town instead me thinks (decaf his time!)
Oh, worst thing about clutch is its on the estate and we're driving to southern Brittany Sunday evening! Our little car doesn't even fit the pushchair in so don't think we'll fit clothes & bedding for the holiday in it. Am sure things will work out tough!

Dylthan · 06/06/2011 07:53

I was only in for 18 months chuilita so I don't really count it. :o

I joined at 16 and left after me and dh got engaged there wasn't many places we could be posted together and I didn't like the thought of being married and living at opposite ends of the country and then both of us away at seperate times of the year for four months at a time.

And before the feminist jump up my job was a job I could get easily in civvy street his wasn't that's why I was the one to leave :o

Dylthan · 06/06/2011 08:03

I feel I should also be explaining my absence. On the days Ive been working I have felt to tired to mn (I know who can be to tired to mn!!)

And on my days off I have spent it catching up on housework and iorning (yes mlic I'm still firmly on your team ;-) )

Anyway I now have a shiny new smartphone and get the train into work so I can mn again now yeah! Although the connection is ridiculously slow but I suppose that the highlands of Scotland for yah.

Chulita · 06/06/2011 08:12

dylthan I'm not sure I want you back - ironing and too tired to come on and chat, hurrumph!

mlic I quite lucky in that L doesn't wander the house if she wakes up wide awake, she gets up and tucks every teddy she can find under a blanket and sings them to sleep.

Right, how do I get her to poo in the potty? She's been accident-free since Thursday but still poos in pants/pull-ups (I don't count that as an accident because it's quite a big thing to get your head around)

CakeandRoses · 06/06/2011 08:18

any suggestions for the new title? like any of the suggestions below? Grin

think i've worked out that A is still intolerant to berries and that i am too Confused i ate strawberry jam in cake/scones a couple of days in a row and she's been unsettled and in pain which we assumed was teething as it was different to the trapped wine she was getting before. anyway, i've suffered from atypical facial pain (basically phantom tooth ache) for yonks but had managed to almost get rid of it thru reducing stress but still get a flare-up now and again esp if i drink more than half a cup of proper coffee (it's triggered like migraine) - the last few days it's been terrible and i realised that it might be the strawberries affecting us both as they're a common migraine trigger. i can not believe i've got to nearly 40 without realising this.

weirdly, strawberries are one of the few things F won't touch so i wonder if he's intolerant too and he's instinctively avoiding them.

the good news is that she wasn't up in the early hours in pain - she's still asleep now Shock and F slept til 7am for first time in weeks

should i drop the dream feed or not? she's sleeping thru aside from that. i just would prefer to feed her at 11.30pm than 6.30am when i know she'd sleep later if she's not hungry.

welcome back wss did you have a great time. are you 40 now??!

crap early start for you chulita Sad hope you catch up later

mlic what's been up with dh? F's like E sometimes when he wakes up - starts rambling on about books or going downstairs to his playroom

Lady A finally awakes so off to get her up...

I'm going to sleep train S like a fricker this week, it's our anniversary next week and I'd like to surprise DH with a night away. The feeds S really wants at the moment are the lunch and bedtime ones so I reckon if we beetle off once he's in bed I could get away with him not feeding til we get back around 11am. I might have to do it a couple of days early which doesn't feel quite right but we're only at the parents' at the beginning of the week.

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/06/2011 08:39

Morning,

Sorry been away alot v busy doing nothing much! Wedding planning Im going to say.

Mini survey1

Walking: he is with his walker.
AF: no, I guess all the time Im bf I wont.
Teeth : 3

Survey 2

No of bf's: well this varies alot but during the day about 3, during the night anywhere between 1 and 6!
Position etc: during the day the usual position. During the night both lying on sides.

WhatSheSaid · 06/06/2011 08:49

I've caught up (kinda) now.

No, cake I am not 40. It was not a birthday weekend away, just a "last bank holiday weekend for nearly 4 months" weekend away. I am 39 for 13 more days yet!

I still haven't got a bloody clue what to get dh for his 40th (in 3 wks).

I like the "dogging" thread titles and I don't think MNHQ would give a shit, they have seen far worse than that Grin.

Chul's survey

G is walking (still only a few steps, crawling for speed)
AF came back about 3 wks ago
G has 6 teeth

Spirael · 06/06/2011 08:50

The English language has a lot to answer for, Cake!

Anyway... Regarding the thread title can I politely remind people that I read this at work? And would rather not lose my internet access. Wink

July 2010: The time's drawing near, we're reaching the end of our babies first year.

July 2010: They're leaving us gawking, our little babes are walking and talking.

July 2010: Hasn't time flied? It's summer already, we're heading outside.

WhatSheSaid · 06/06/2011 09:13

Wouldn't it be "Time has flown"?

CakeandRoses · 06/06/2011 09:27

ok, i like the dogging ones too but understand it might not be the best at work... here's my clean offering:

July 2010: We might not know what time it is in NZ or why the Creme Egg but we do know almost a year since the gas, epidurals and c-secs for which we begged.

OP posts:
Spirael · 06/06/2011 09:34

Yep, but that ruins the rhyme, WSS! [artistic license]

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/06/2011 10:02

I like spiraels first one.

CakeandRoses · 06/06/2011 10:30

to save you reading back wss, here's a summary of the last few days:

mlic and chul coined the term brunchnic

tsc told us she tried to set her dp with gay men for 6m when they first met after which he wooed her with the immortal line 'you're not a cunt'

dh sleep-trained D, for about 2 hours Wink

we all fell out slightly over women's role in society which was mainly needle's fault Wink

spirael reconfirmed her geek status with tales of meeting dh in a role-playing society

chul made us all swoon with her love story involving 1000s of miles distance and bullets

CakeandRoses · 06/06/2011 11:20

A has FINALLY started saying mamama and nanana today

Chulita · 06/06/2011 12:15

Does it have to rhyme? [spoilsport emoticon]

Hooray for mamamama noises, they're the best in my humble but entirely correct opinion :)
