Sassy I completely feel your pain! I suffered with spd and it was awful. going upstairs on your bum will help! satin nighties for turning in bed and a carrier bag on the car seat so you don't have to open your legs! I found the physio useless but yours might be a bit better! You're a fab mum & its not for long. You can do it!!!!!

Chelle yey Olly! marathon boy!!!

Having a lovely weekend, nice bbq with my family yesterday, lots of cuddles with my baby neice, the boys stayed at my parents, I went out with the girls then we're back at my parents to go to a hog roast this afternoon! Why can't I lie in anymore tho?? I was awake on and off from 5am!

Heading towards a new thread, its got to have 1st birthdays in the title! How scary is that?????

SeaChelles · 17/07/2011 12:36

Olly says "Thank you very much all!" and Grin He won't do it again to show Daddy though....trying to make a liar out of Mummy me thinks!!!

O is absolutely full of cold. Poor sod. He has done nothing but sneeze today and his nose is like a tap. He is having a restless nap at the min. Put him to bed before I went to see Harry last night and he was awake screaming until half hour before I got back according to DP. Bless him. His top two front teeth are poking through, so I thought thats why he was snotty but he defo has a cold with all the sneezing et al.

On a brighter note, Harry was ace! Makes me angry when they do things that aren't in the book and miss key bits out! Scary snake in it though!!

cinnamongreyhound · 17/07/2011 22:06

Know the feeling SeaChelles. Luke finally stood without holding on infront of dh today, been trying to show him for about a week and he keeps saying yeah yeah whatever!!

Had a really relaxed day today and no fighting!! Going to see Harry potter tomorrow Grin. Got a sad dh as he just realised this evening that dss is with his mum now until 12th aug :(. Keep fingers crossed for sun tomorrow as ds1 has his fun day where they all mess about in paddling pools, ball pools, bubbles and water pistols. Not fun if it's cold, I'm going to help but hoping to stay dry! One more week of early mornings and then I have no children until 9am, yay (not including mine of course) Wink

mapletrees · 17/07/2011 22:31

cinnamon I've been trying not to react when Louis bites, but he only seems to do it when he doesn't want any more milk, so I'm not sure if taking him off is much of a discouragement Confused. It's not been a problem for the last couple of days though, but only because Louis is poorly and has been refusing to feed. Typical mumsnet curse - I'd take the biting now if it ment he was getting his milk and wasn't so unsettled. He's been crying loads at night and almost impossible to put down during the day Sad. I went out for a friend's birthday last night and came back at 1am to find DP (who's ill too) and Louis snuggled up on the sofa, one asleep and the other looking very sorry for himself Sad. Simpathy to all the other poorly babies, and their mums.

Sorry your having such a tough time sassy. When your DP gets back, will he be home until the baby arrives?

Congrats on the win chelle. DP had a day off when Louis had one of his settling in sessions at nursery. We went out for a quiet lunch together and it was great. You shouldn't feel bad about taking a bit of time for just you and your DP, afterall a strong and happy relationship between the two of you is in Olly's best interests too. Have fun at the zoo Wink. And well done Olly!

sassy34264 · 18/07/2011 07:43

no mapletrees he is going to have 2/3 weeks off though. he his saving most of his hols for when the baby comes. ive told him, i want help this time. (he spent nearly every day of his paternity working on the house while we lived at my mums)
babies are still asleep! only 2nd time they have every slept this lated. they went to bed at 8.30 and i havent heard from them all night. (well i have just heard a trump or two) Grin too bad i have to get up as chloe doesnt finish school until wed.

newmum001 · 18/07/2011 08:16

Sassy grace used to sleep till 9.30am but that was when we were putting her to bed at 9 or 10pm she's never slept past 6.30 - 7am since she's been going to bed at 7am!

Had another good night last night, just one little wake up at 11pm then nothing till 6am! We've finally dropped her cot since the sudocrem disaster, don't know if any of you have seen the pictures on facebook but we put her down for a nap on saturday morning and 10 nminutes later she still sounded a bit giddy so I went in and she'd managed to grab a tub of sudocrem, take the lid off and smear it over every available surface and all over herself. It was very funny if very annoying!

SeaChelles · 18/07/2011 08:48

Grrr....just lost whole post!!!! Angry

Can I just share the uselessness of DP's?!

I left for work about 20 mins ago and left DP with Olly for the day. Been in work for about 5 mins when I get a phone call from said DP......

"Guess what YOUR son has just done!"

Me thinking, shit he's fallen and split his lip or something.....But no.... DP has gone in the kitchen to make tea for the workmen and do Ollys breakfast, then thinks "Ooh Olly has gone quiet", goes in to the living room to discove that he has left the hall door open. to find Oliver sitting on the landing looking down at him and laughing..... Angry and Shock Can bloody leave him alone for half hour!

sassy34264 · 18/07/2011 11:10

oh newmum bet that was a bugger to get off! you should thank your lucky stars it was only sudocrem- my parents love to tell people how i did something similiar, except i just grapped what just happened to be down the back of my nappy.......
seachelle i'd be going bonkers! i'd probably have made some scarcastic remark about trying him out with a gerbil or something first before a child. Grin

bananacurry · 18/07/2011 13:12

Ollys just eaten his entire lunch all by himself!!!!! I know he's nearly 11 months & should've been doing it for ages but I have a few hang ups about feeding & mess so its my fault for not giving him the opportunity. I'm so chuffed cos it was starting to bother me that he wasn't. He had cheese, crackers, tomato and strawberries! My clever little boy AND there was hardly any mess, just a few crumbs from the crackers Grin

newmum001 · 18/07/2011 13:44

Aww bless he's so clever! Grace is nowhere near doing that yet, she's still on baby food for meals cause of issues still with gagging but she's getting better and I'm offering various things for snacks (some she copes with others she doesn't) but also I know that she'd eat next to nothing if I left her to it cause it'd be all over the floor!

Saoirse did leaving a night light on for orlaith work? I'm still considering ways of making grace's sleep better. Don't get me wrong we've had a couple of decent nights sleep but I fear we're not out of the woods yet! X

Debs75 · 18/07/2011 15:19

Saoirse Lucy doesn't like the pitch dark but dd2 does so that's another reason for me feeding Lucy to sleep.

Newmum you need to take the plunge and try not to panic when she gags. Lucy gags still but then she spits it out and tries again. She also doesn't eat as much as I feel she should but she has put on weight and I know she makes up for it with my milk

bananacurry · 18/07/2011 15:37

Olly gags. He usually does it when he puts too much in his mouth or on things like cucumber that he can't manage. Most of the time he just carries on. Up until about 8 months and when he was poorly the last couple of weeks he'd gag and throw everything back up. Thats one of my hang ups. It really upsets me when he's eaten a really good meal then I give him something stupid & he's sick. Quantity is my other hang up!!! Grace will get there.

The other thing he's done today is walk off with his baby walker! We've been standing him at it & he's just stood before. Today I stood him expecting the same & off he went! He's properly cruising too! I know thats nothing compared to the amazing walking babies but its a start! Wink

Chelle I hope you're going to give your dp a big slap when you get home. I don't agree with violence but all the what ifs make me feel sick!

newmum001 · 18/07/2011 15:50

Debs I don't panic anymore as she always brings whatever it is back up but she's nearly always sick when she's gagged and throws up more or less everything she's eaten in the last couple of hours so it's not really worth giving her exclusive finger food yet!

Banana grace pulled herself up on her baby walker the otherday and ended up with a bump on her head, you'd think she'd realise it moves seeing as she bombs round the house in it. It was like slow motion, I turned round and she was stoof up holding on to it and before I could get to her it was moving and she was falling! Well done olly for cruising, I bet your ds1 loves it now he's mobile?

Oooh! Chelle, I forgot!!! I dreamt about you last night! I packed your wrap under mine so it got a bit squashed. You were less than impressed so I told you to f**k off!!!!!! I don't usually use that language so you must've annoyed me! Grin

SeaChelles · 18/07/2011 20:02

Banana My wrap??? WTF is a wrap? Like a sandwich? Or like a sarong type thing? Always knew you were odd..... Hmm Wink

bananacurry · 18/07/2011 20:08

the edible variety!!!! I only squashed the end & you went ape!!!

watersprite · 18/07/2011 20:08

Hi ladies,

Not been on for a while so hope you dont mind me posting! Grin
I've been sooooooo busy with starting back at University and my final placement.

I've been applying for jobs for over a month and got shortlisted for 5 which is pretty good due to the job crisis! I've been for 2 job interviews, one last Tues and Thur but Thur evening the sister called who interview me and said I'd got the job (Emergency Admissions Unit at Salford Royal) Shock I will here back from my local trust tomorrow. I'm sooooo excited as it's taken me 5 long years to get here. I finish my placement September 16th and then I will be a newly Qualified Nurse Grin

Maria-Ann is sleeping quite well, she's been going to bed at 7-8 and sleeping till 5am having 50z of formula then back off till 8. Tonight she went at 6.20 so here's hoping she slleps through Wink

Maria-Ann has been really unwell recently, she has been to A/E due to breathing problems that just seem to affect her at night. The staff just said that it was a summer cold but I think differently! I've taken her to my own doctors and told him her symptoms. I been thinking it's hayfever as Casey and I suffer really bad but of course they don't like to diagnose in babies, however my doctor was really good and prescribed her a antihistamine which is really helping her Smile i've also bought an air purifier that also helps.

watersprite · 18/07/2011 20:10

beaditAli · 18/07/2011 20:14

Just done a monster catch up and everyone sounds so active! Grin
Jack is still not cruising but crawling at a million miles an hour. Mum has taught him to hold on to his bike handle bar whilst she whizzes him around their garden and he thinks he's a concert pianist when he's there too. Very funny! Grin
sassy hoping things don't get too difficult for you. You'll breeze through once bump is born as you're so well practiced!

chelle unreal that Olly can even do that by himself never mind that DP's are so good at letting mishaps happen! Have you got a trampoline yet??? Smile

Can I start a new thread?
Thinking someone might have beaten me to it but i'll try next: ...........

Blimey that was early, still 100 posts left here!! We went to Harry potter tonight and it was great, love a happy ending. Also randoly stopped in the forest for a moment of passion Blush

Luke has been dancing today! Will try to video him and post it on fb soooooo funny. He has also attempted 3 separate steps each one resulting in him falling flat on his face (well if mummy hadn't caught him just before). He has also discovered how to open our kitchen bin and that is now the most exciting thing ever!
