mine were in the sale newmum not sure of their name. they are the 9months to 12yrs ones, so hopefully wont have to buy them again. can use old car sear for new baby and give best friend the other one. i cant remember if i said or not but she had her 12 week scan the other week and everything is good.(shes had 2 miscarriages since jan 2010)
so tired today, woke up about 3.30 and couldnt get back to sleep and then babies woke up at 5.30- groan. cant sleep with builders here, dad is coming this morning to do what we didnt do yesterday and mil and bil are coming for a visit this afternoon, so got no chance. ive got washing that needs pegging out and im sat looking out of the living room window at the sunshine but just cant motivate myself to get off the snuggler. babies have had milk and im dressed- i think thats enough progress for now! Blush

I'm the same sassy, go to bed at 10 and grace has woken up at 11 on the dot the last few nights so I lie there for an hour waiting for her to wake up then I go and settle her and then lie awake till 12 cause I've been up and can't drift off! It's doing my head in!

wanted to ask those with boys- have they become aware of their willy? jacob cant wait to get his hand on his everytime i change his nappy! said to dp, you lads start early playing with your favourite toy!
newmum i hate hate hate being tired i get anxious if i know im even going to be! i just cant function. not boding well for someone about to have 3 kids under 16 months but hey ho. im hoping dp has learnt from last time and i'll be a bit more supported this time! he'll be bloody for it, if he hasnt.

newmum001 · 12/07/2011 08:45

Grace has started messing about down there when I take her nappy off but I think it's just cause it's normally covered up and then all of a sudden it's not! She doesn't do it during the day just at night in the bath! It's driving dp mad haha!

Ds1 has only just found his & I'm too quick with olly to give him chance cos if i'm not he's off across the room bare bum!!

We had a bad night last night. ds1 was awake crying at 11pm. I had to "blow it" I've no idea what i had to blow but I just blew hard a few times and it was ok. Took me about 10 mins to settle him down then he was awake again at 12 absolutely devastated cos he wanted his lollypop!!! He ended up in our bed that time cos he was so upset!!!

I don't worry too much about forward facing v rear facing car seats. If they were that dangerous the forward facing ones wouldn't be allowed. Also the accidents all depend on area of inpact etc.

We're going to sundown adventure land today. I'm not really looking forward to it cos there's 1 adult to every child except for me. I have 2! I'm sure it'll be fine cos the others will help. I just find it hard when I'm on my own at a place like that trying to keep them both safe & happy!

Debs75 · 12/07/2011 09:51

Car seats are a bit of a contentious issue. I find the best way to look at it is to ignore the bit where a seat says 'suitable from 9 months' and look for the bits which say 'suitable until 15kg'. Lucy will stay in her stage O till she is nearing 15kg, which will be months yet, or until she is too tall for it. I know a fair few people in RL who were soo anxious to change the seats as soon as their dc turned 9m, even though there was loads of room left for them.
I like the RF over FF as wherever the point of impact is the car will stop which means you will be thrown forward with force so in a RF seat the child is thrown back agasinst the seat so less chance of neck injuries. Unfortunately there are some really crap seats out there which score stupidly low on crash tests.

Debs75 · 12/07/2011 11:07

Sorry to post and run. lucy did the hugest poo and I had to have a shower after.

SeaChelles · 12/07/2011 11:42

Sassy - Oliver plays with his willy sometimes when I'm changing him and has had several erections......Blush freaks me right out.....

Debs Grin at you having to shower....! That must has been "megapoo! sent directly from hell!"

I hate being tired too, I cant function and get upset dead easily over nothing....and Im really really mean....no REALLY mean! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 12/07/2011 13:35

Luke does at every opportunity sassy34264 but ds1 didn't until he started potty training. Luke slept until 5 and then had a feed and back to sleep until 7 so I'm not too tired this morning but it makes EVERYTHING so much harder!

Debs75 · 12/07/2011 13:43

seachelles it was disgusting. She is scoffing kfc chips atm so in for another one later

SeaChelles · 12/07/2011 13:55

Debs Ooh KFC chips! I've just had a meatball sub! Tell Lucy I didn't save her any!! Grin

SeaChelles · 12/07/2011 14:07

Cinammon - I was wondering if you have any tips. Olly has 3 bottles a day now and has all three at home no problemo, even asks for them. However, while he is at the childminder he should be having one 7oz bottle early afternoon - however he wont take it from her? She tries to give it to him just on the sofa while the other kids are playing - so I suggested today that she goes somewhere quiet with him to see if that helps (which is ok because there are two other girls there who look atfter the kids too) - but if this doesnt work do you have any suggestions?
Thanks m'dear.

Chelle will he take the milk in a beaker. Sat on her knee but feeding himself? Grace won't take a bottle off anyone other than me. She won't even have one off dp even if she really wants it. My sister was looking after her last monday and she had to let grace hold the bottle and feed herself and she seemed happier to have it that way,

Grace just had a complete meltdown when I put her down for her nap. In the space of 5 minutes she got completely worked up and would not calm down! I was a bit scared as her breathing was irregular and I ended up holding her at arms length caling her name over and over until she snapped out of it! Her sleeps are all over the place, sometimes she'll go down without a peep, sometimes I have to rock her to sleep then put her in her cot and other times I have to sit on the rocking chair in her room holding her for an hour cause she won't let me put her down! She's super clingy too! Give me strength!!!!

Nope newmum - he flatly refuses to take milk out of a beaker. Not sure why, just thinks it should be in a bottle I guess! Hmm But he does hold the bottle himself anyway most of the time. Going to pick him up in an hour so we'll see how he has got on today!

bananacurry · 12/07/2011 18:35

Chelle I shouldn't worry about the milk. If he's happy without it then leave it. He doesn't need it now like he did when he was younger. you could always ask her to give him a yoghurt or something if you're worried about the calcium.

newmum001 · 12/07/2011 19:10

on the subject how many bottles/feeds is everyone's LO's having now? Grace is still on 4 at the minute but she's not too bothered about the 10.30am one now so thinking of dropping it when her sleep settles back down.

newmum001 · 12/07/2011 19:21

just been having a snoop round other message boards and there is a sleep regression/seperation anxiety at 9 months. I googled it and all the articles describe Grace exactly!! I shall just go with the flow i think, keep trying her in her cot first and rocking if it isn't working. I actually feel relieved that thats what it is as i was really starting to feel quite down about it.

SeaChelles · 12/07/2011 19:25

Not to worry - he took it from her today. She gave it to him a bit later in the afternoon and also realised she was making it up too warm for him. My fault really - I should have told her that he prefers his bottles room temp. In fact he even prefers his food room temp rather than hot now I come to think of it.

cinnamongreyhound · 12/07/2011 19:34

Luke dropped his 10ish bottle about 6 weeks ago and doesn't always ask for his 4ish one. So he's having 3 most days and sometimes only 2 newmum001.

sassy34264 · 12/07/2011 20:08

mine have 3 a day usually and sometimes only 2. i read that they should be having about 20oz until they're 12 months somewhere a while back, so i have 3 7ozs a day, but there is nothing to say you couldnt give 8 or 9ozs over 2 bottles imo.
they become more aware of who everyone is at 8months ish newmum ie, who is mum, dad, stranger etc. and according to some psychologists (piaget coined it) they have object permanence at this point. it means they know that just cos they cant see something doesnt mean it doesnt exist. they conducted experiments at different ages to see the change. so they would hide a teddy bear behind a cushion and if the baby doesnt try to look it doesnt have object permanence. what they would say is that grace now comprehends that you are somewhere else, and before she didnt understand that concept.
there is another experiment (well there are loads tbh) that you can do to establish if your baby knows who it is- its called being egocentric. put some bright lipstick on the babies nose and put them in front of a mirror. if they ignore it, they dont understand that the baby is them, if they try to wipe it off they do. Smile

newmum001 · 12/07/2011 20:19

She's just started to look for stuff if you hide it, usually my phone which is chewed to bits. Gonna try the lipstick thing tomorrow it sounds like fun!

bananacurry · 12/07/2011 21:07

Olly has 3 bottles. 6oz at 5am, 4oz at 2pm and 6oz at 6pm. Thats when he's well. He also has milk on his cereal proabably 3oz actually so he's almost getting his 20oz a day!

He's not eaten anything today tho. He's still poorly. I'm rubbish at going to the drs but I think I might have to. What he did eat he threw back up cos he's so bunged up he's gagging on everything. Any good solutions for not being able to breath??

I'm going to try the lipstick thing tomorrow. He's had the grasp of object permanence for a while now. especially when i try to hide the remote!
