Debs75 · 19/07/2011 09:03

I'll be baking her first cake as I did for all the others. Only got 3 and a bit weeks to get everything sorted. time certainly flies.

watersprite · 19/07/2011 09:28

Loving the new thread ladies Grin

My nan will be buying Maria-Ann cake, she has bought Casey one up untill she was 7 so kinda a tradition in our household.

I've already started buying things for Maria-Ann Birthday September 21st, I know it's a bit early but seen some really good bargains and couldn't resist Grin

Maria-Ann is really feeling her two top teeth coming through, I've looked and there they are coming through at the same time, plus they look swollen Sad I'm using Anbesol liquid!

Waiting for a phone call today from my local trust to see if I got the job, then I can decide where I want to work! fingers crossed Grin all my old group September 07 have graduation today, they have been qualified 10 months already!

On nights tonight, Wed and Thurs and late Sat.

sassy34264 · 19/07/2011 09:33

watersprite · 19/07/2011 09:43

Thanks sassy I've already been told I've got a job at Salford Royal but it will be good if I get a choice Grin all the hard work has really paid off, still in shock! x

sassy34264 · 19/07/2011 11:58

oh god. families! and its not even mine. just had a inbox fb message from lee's cousin. she got married on fri and we never got an invite. she has just sent me a sorry message with an explanation. basically almost the whole family has feel out with mil or shes feel out with them. even her own mum. so much so that they all turned down our invite to the twins christening, and now we are not being invited to weddings cos of her indirectly through lees sister causing some trouble over nasty messages to another cousin. my family is so boring in comparison- thank god. i geton with everyone and we still try and see them every now and then as dp is expertly skilled at keeping out of it. but i do feel very sorry for him as he effectively has no extended family and i even asked once, do you think they would come to your funeral if you died or stay away cos of your mum? im trying to tread very carefully with what i say but i am trying to get them to see how we see it. bit scared though as they are a lot tougher/ feistier than me! gulp.

Dixiebell · 19/07/2011 12:01

Can I just echo Sassy's cinnamon!! Grin Wink

I know cinnamon I was so keen! Thought i was seeing 982 but it was 892! Too many hours spent with tiny little beads sending me blind.... I also meant to say "nearly one year olds!"
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh well Grin
Naughty girl you! Can't beat a bit of alfresco romance tho! Wink

I might not bother with a cake either sassy especially as DH doesn't have a sweet tooth at all so i'd have to eat it ALL.
........back to the grind now. Folks have Jack today so I went to bed for 2 hours this morning. Blush Blush

Another CINNAMON from me!!!

I've decided what cakes I'm doing. As there's only 2 weeks between the boys birthdays they're having a joint party so Tobys having a Mickey Mouse cake & Olly a road in the shape of a 1 with icing cars on it. Its hard when they're only 1 cos you don't really know what they like. Olly loves brumming cars tho!

Do they have an 11 month development spurt. Literally in the last 2 days Ollys started walking with the walker, cruising, feeding himself (Huge huge huge paddy at tea time when I tried to feed him. Wouldn't have minded but it was spag bol! Oh the mess!) and holding his own bottle!!!

I've also replaced his 3pm bottle with cows milk. He's only 6 weeks off 1 and at this age Toby only had milk twice a day so he doesn't need formula for nutritional value. Only going to buy 1 more tub then when thats gone cows milk all the way!!!!!

newmum001 · 19/07/2011 19:28

How has he taken to cows milk banana? Formula is vile so it must taste amazing! Grace isn't doing any of those things yet although she went into the kitchen cupboard today and helped herself to a cracker!

Another cinnamon from me, you rude lady! Glad you had a good night Smile

Had a horrible night again last night, won't go into details cause it gets borning but she woke up 4 times then got up at 5am! She's been a bloody nightmare today cause she's so tired! She has got a tooth pushing against her gum and the back ones haven't broken through yet so I hope once they have she'll go back to normal

My friends doing grace's cake, it's a 2 tier princess cake with a tiara on top and a wand! It's all pink and sparkly! It's a tad over the top but whats the point of having a friend with a cake baking business and not taking full advantage!

bananacurry · 19/07/2011 19:43

He just took it! didn't bat an eyelid! It was room temperature too. He won't usually take anything any colder than a cup of tea!

JodeyBogeyPicker · 19/07/2011 19:44

Marking x x

On the eating front, Harlyn is fab with feeding himself. He does sometimes store food in his cheeks like a hamster and keeps stuffing his face until he realises his mouth is completely full, he gags, continues to chew, swallows then starts again. He prefers to feed himself but it takes so much longer.

And fair play cinamon at your forest passion. Is Harry Potter THAT good??? I did go out with the girls from work on Friday and literally jumped on my DH when I got home Blush. he told me I can go out every Friday night if that's what a few vodka and cokes does!

Also had to do a 9 mile walk with school yesterday so got a very sore lower back and toes Sad. on the plus side, off to London with the year 8's tomorrow to see Wicked! So excited but I'll miss putting Harlyn to bed :(

cinnamongreyhound · 19/07/2011 20:46

Ds1's 1st birthday cake. We are having people over so they will eat it all with us, thinking of just a 1 for Luke but not fully decided yet.

It's not something I make a habit of but fun sometimes Blush! Harry potter was good JodeyBogeyPicker but not in that way. Have a lovely time at Wicked!, very Envy

Congrats watersprite!

Was going to ask about cows milk bananacury as ds1 doesn't drink it at all and I was wondering whether to introduce it sooner rather than later as a drink for Luke to stop him from turning his nose up at it as ds1 did!

Was wondering how you were getting on with your work beaditAli, is Jack enjoying time with his grandparents?

sassy34264 · 19/07/2011 21:30

ive given my two cows milk once- when i'd run out of formula. neither seemed to notice the difference.
ive just come back from chloe's end of year/primary school play. it was quite funny in parts. they did a skit of how bad the nativity plays usually are, like saying come in and then the knock coming after. Smile i had to take babies as there is literally no one to have them. they hardly made a sound. i did have to sing baa baa black sheep twice quietly in jacob's ear as he did get a bit restless but everyone commented how good they are- it lasted an hour and half.
its chloes last every day of primary school tomorrow! so milestoney! and im officially getting old now that i have a child in high school.............nooooooooooooo. stop the world, i want to get off. Grin

mapletrees · 19/07/2011 22:03

Can I just add....... cinnamon!!!

mapletrees · 19/07/2011 22:18

I've been planning Louis' cake for ages (too much time out walking with the pushchair Blush). I'm going to make him a hot-air balloon as he has a hot-air balloon mobile and he's loved it since he was tiny Grin

We took him to the dr this morning, and she thinks he has an ear and respiratory infection Sad, so he's got some of the banana medicine I've heard so much about. Hopefully that, together with the calpol and ibuprofen will sort him out. I just hate seeing him so pitiful Sad Sad

That said, he must have perked up for a while today.. He might not be walking yet, but apparently he can climb up onto the coffee table Shock. DP was looking after him as I had to go to work, and he looked away for a second, and when he turned back, there he was!

So chelle, did you have a fun Wink Wink trip to the zoo?

comixminx · 19/07/2011 22:58

New thread already! and I second (third, fourth, fifth) the cinnamon!s! Go you!

Otherwise, marking for later.

Dixiebell · 19/07/2011 23:01

Argh, separation anxiety alert!!! My little boy has gone from sleeping solidly for 12 hours + to waking every 2 hours (tonight at least) absolutely devastated and sobbing. Only thing he'll stop crying for is bf, but starts up again as soon as I try to put him down. DH and I are so flummoxed, he's always been such a good sleeper and self-settles by thumb sucking, we have no techniques to try! And cuddling, stroking, patting, talking to him, nothing works so I end up resorting to feeding then putting him back and letting him cry until he drops off. Such a shame as he was great on holiday, maybe it's the change of scenery? And we were going to go out for DH's bday on thurs - only our second evening out since Arlo was born - but wouldn't want to leave him with my mum if he's like this.

Debs75 · 20/07/2011 14:28

Cinnammon How long before another pregnancy announcement{wink]

bananacurry · 20/07/2011 16:21

I keep having to hold back the tears. I failed last night. I only have 6 weeks left with my babies then its back to work!!! I know they'll be fine & I know I will be too but I'm working 3 days in a row which means I'll probably only see them for 2 hours a day for 3 whole days! This last year has been the best of my life. I'm so happy & I don't want to close the door on that chapter. I hate the fact that life moves on and that things don't stay the same forever! Sad

Dixie Olly did the same a couple of weeks ago. He only did it for a couple of nights then was back to normal.
