July 2010: C'mon threadbabes: eat like MLIC's; drink like TSC's; smile like Memphis's; laugh like Cakes's; crawl like nearly all of them (except Cake's)... but mainly: sleep like Spireals

well done giving blood spirael - i want to do it again now that J is over 9 months. But I will have to find a time that DH can look after J - or did you take M with you? how did that go?

My contribution to our joint account (from which mortgage/bills etc come from) is now coming out of my savings. DH does offer to give me money but that woukd come from his savings, so I don't see that it makes much difference really where it comes from - I just need to watch what we're spending.

Chulita · 17/05/2011 22:11

wss I've got blueberries, they're freaking fantastic! You need at least 2 for them to inter-pollinate but we get tub-loads every year and they look really lovely. I must net mine actually cos the berries have set and the blackbirds will have them the moment they start blueing up.

spirael I make rice pudding sometimes with coconut milk in it, tastes lovely!

vik bleugh, can't believe D wasn't screaming with a bag full of poo! Grin at weewee

I'm off to bed too, I get up around 5.30-6 every day at the moment including night-wakings so I'm a zombie. DH still isn't back from work but he'll probably crawl in at some point and wake me up.

I went in my lunchbreak, Woodlands, so M was at nursery. :) [cheat]

For finance, my salary goes into DH and my joint account...that DH organises. He then gives me an allowance for the month!

I should however point out that he's an accountant, I put all household stuff on the joint account (my allowance is for stuff for me) and I wouldn't want to deprive him by trying to take control of the finances, when I see the pleasure he gets from mulling over huge complex spreadsheets, analysing spending, predicting future costs and squirrelling money away. Hiya all,

Sorry I haven't been on my blackberry was away being fixed and its hard getting on the laptop with ds and dp.

Not much been happening here. R still pulling herself up on the furniture but not walking yet. Well done to all the walkers.

I have an appointment with weight management tomorrow so looking forward to that. Also the wedding is on friday, can't wait!

All th talk of cooking is making me hungry Smile

MelissaM · 17/05/2011 23:57

Not dairy free here. Think I keep talking about trying it, and start cutting down for both if us but then old habits creep back in. Need to plan food better I think and stay away from chocolate, cheese cream, milk, yoghurt. Hmm, doesn't leave much from our staples.

Chilli is probably the thing I make most often. I sometimes use quorn instead of meat, but it upsets dh's stomach. He's also not a big fan of pasta, rice, or baked potatoes so all the cheap filling meals are out! I wld happily be veggie again but can't be arsed cooking two completely different meals for us, and possibly something else for the children. Maybe I just need to be more organised...
Thanks for the new thread cake

Chulita · 18/05/2011 08:06

melissa it's worth trying, I found it made a huge difference and if it doesn't change anything it's only 2 weeks out of your whole life without dairy. Don't forget if you do, you have to cut all dairy out, just cutting down won't work. You can do it though, we're very big dairy eaters and I didn't know how I'd ever manage but once you work out which biscuits food you can have it's simple really.

I would pay good money to sleep beyond 5.30. I've tried putting him bed a bit later but seeing as he doesn't nap in the afternoon I find it hard to push him beyond 6.30. He's usually awake by 2pm at the latest and he just can't hold on til 7. With DH on nights there's no chance of him getting up in the morning and he hasn't for the last 3 weekends for one reason or another but I'm desperate for a tiny lie-in.

stac hope today goes well and they give you some help getting those pounds shifted!

melissa, the reason i asked re dairy was that i know of children with recurrent ear problems which improved after dairy elim. I know it sounds as tho I know 100s of dairy-intolerant children but i think it's just because people talk to me about it when they know i'm vegan.

Grin at god food and the mouth sweeps mlic

morning, dont go sneaking onto the new thread yet, there is still plenty of talking to be had here!!
I was a veggie but my ex used to eat quorne everyday and didnt eat much veg at all which i didnt get!!! I spoke to dh last nigh I worked out his pack up is now costing well over £20 a week!!! so ive said something has to give, either his pack ups or meals so he has agreed to 5 veg meals a week and 2 meat ones!!
meeting my group today, and my friend is taking L to family group friday as im having my hair done and its going to take hours so i cant expect to let him play on his own that long!!
oh and we are the same as mlic we dont share money, its my car so I pay for it, I but the food, electric, gas sky, phone and net he pays rent, council tax, water, he earns a hell of a lot more than I have but its his money not mine, he pays for one food shop a week, the way I see it its his money he has earnt it! after xmas things are going to change though he will give me a bit of spendo too!

Chulita · 18/05/2011 08:57

Samsonite likes eating wool at the mo.
Lusita keeps saying 'go swim now please' 'more swimming again' 'like swimming mummy'.
I'm grumpy.
It's going to be a long day.

I hate job hunting more than night feeds, I spend 8 months trying to find a job when we first got married before deciding to just start a family and worry about jobs later. So demoralising, fingers crossed you get something you really enjoy tsc. Could you ask the GP re allergy testing for Fongles? They should be able to do a skin test for suspected god dog allergies.

Chulita · 18/05/2011 09:30

I've got to go to the dentist in an hour or so just for a clean - I booked it myself cos I thought I probably should but I'm absolutely dreading it. So glad it's just a normal thing but I shudder to think about your teeth memphis I'm a complete dental wimp, I really am.

Chulita · 18/05/2011 09:32

L just won't shut up today. I think she can sense that I'm grumpy and is determined to wind me up. DH is awake but he's got a big presentation tomorrow to work on. Typically he's at work all night tonight, then has to do this presentation at lunch tomorrow then on nights again tomorrow night Hmm so when is the man supposed to sleep? Freaking stupid people.

Chulita · 18/05/2011 09:32

If I find you're all posting on the other thread there'll be trouble...

Chulita · 18/05/2011 09:33

Good, no one's posting at all and I'm just talking to meself...

malibustac · 18/05/2011 10:29

Aw chulita your not talking to yourself.

The weight management meeting went well. She suggested I see the psychologist before going to the meetings as I have very low self esteem. She thinks confidence building may help me stick to a better diet. So 6 weeks wait for that.in the meantime I should see GP about metformin for pcos.

R has taken to waking for milk so last night I only gave her water. She kicked up a fuss and do had a moan so got sent to the settee.

Spirael · 18/05/2011 12:09

M has woken up the last two nights for milk too, Stac!

I'm hoping it's just a growth spurt, I can't handle these overnight wakes. Wink
