woodlands thats weird as D had several BAD nappies today one was very runny and the others were just full of the food that he had yesterday. I tried him with a stage 3 jar with whole peices of sweetcorn and some really big bits and i ws really pleased that he ate it no problem at all, going back a few months and i ws so worried that he would never move from stage 1! however it came out pretty much as it went in so maybe his digestion isnt up to it yet??
Unfortunatly D is early waking again, 5.30 this morning again, anyone know any special tricks to try? I have gone back to the books and have slightly altered his nap times today, earlier and shorter morning nap and longer afternoon nap so we'll see what happenes in the morning. They say u have to do it for 4 days to know if its working or not so im gona have to rely on the CM to do it too.
memphis thats horrid about the night terrors, hope it doesnt become a habit. What weird stuff has happened?

Trudyla · 16/05/2011 20:14

cake When will you be going back to work? Hope that doesn't mean we'll lose you on here.

tsc Hope you'll get things sorted.

woodlands I've had this nappy panic once. Hope you got to the supermarket in time.

viksam This is the thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/parenting/1207181-2-under-15-months/AllOnOnePage
After the first three months when I felt very sick, I don't actually feel that different. My belly is big (today I had the first stranger ask me if I was pregnant again, then looked at M. and said, wow you're gonna be busy. According to the people on that other thread, this is gonna happen a lot) but otherwise I just feel normal. Though I do think I felt the baby flutter last night for the first time. Sooo cute. I'm 16 weeks btw.

chulita and MLIC (and whoever else is making their own quiche) Could you please point me in the direction of a foolproof quiche recipe that uses milk and not cream. I will need exact instructions on everything, even how to make the base. I realised that the lovely Portugese caf quiches are costing us a fortune and I would love to try and make my own. Also, can you freeze them? Thanks.

Well, my day was rubbish. The person I was gonna meet didn't show up without telling me. Now I know that with children something can always happen, but at least have the fucking decency to let me know. She still hasn't called or texted. I hate that. I don't even particularly want to hang out with her cos she is a very difficult woman, but she arranged it all so I thought, go on then.

The friend I wanted to meet tomorrow cancelled as well (at least she called me in advance and had a good reason). So my sociable week is looking really bad.

See, there is a reason why I usually don't meet people that much. It's just fucking trouble.

Sorry about the rant. As you were.

memphis83 · 16/05/2011 20:28

trudyla I would be fuming about that woman cancelling on you! Lovely that you felt the baby flutter today.
vik this house was an old missionary, local nuns lived. We've got a state of the art alarm after the attempted break ins but in the past week the alarm keeps going in the night, when we come down (its the internal sensors going off) the tv has been on a few times, lamp knocked over etc, the alarm shouldnt go off if tv was on, but tv was off when we went to bed. L has a few terrors a week but this one lasted for ages. I know it sounds mad but, out tv never normally goes off and the lamp is a heavy chrome one, just trying to find another explanation for things going on!!!
chulita believe me im not calm, one of the fillings is below an existing one that goes under the gum im bricking it, all because its been 6 months since I could last floss properly and ive only just been able to brush my teeth for 3 mins without being in agony as I do it!! Ive got to have the 2 fillings on the 20th june but ive got to wait for the gum to totally heal for 12 weeks before i can have the crown!!

Trudy I make a quiche where you don't have to make a base or pastry of any sort, it's called Impossible Quiche. The flour just kind of settles to the bottom during cooking and makes a crust, not proper pastry but end result is v nice

You mix up flour, butter (actually I use oil, slightly diff recipe), eggs and milk and then chuck any ingredients you have in the fridge in, onion, mushroom, peppers, bacon, cut-up sausage, sweetcorn, whatever. The recipe is in cups as that's what recipes are done in here, a cup of milk is about 120 ml I think. Amount of cheese doesn't really matter, as little or as much as you like. Not sure what the three quarters of cup of flour equates to but Google would tell you. I don't necessarily use the fillings in that recipe, just whatever I have.

It is easy easy easy, takes 10 mins and chuck in the oven.

viksam · 16/05/2011 21:36

Thanks Trudyla I will check out ur thread. I have my first MW app tomorrow! eeeekkkkkk, that means im gona have to face up to it now! The problem is, and i hate to say this because it makes me feel like an irresponsible teenager, but im not sure when my last af was!!! from my calculations and very scetchy memory i could be as far as 9 weeks this week. I wonder if the MW can have a prod around and make a guess, otherwise I'll have to wait till the scan, which i hope they can book ASAP coz untill then i really dont think I'll believe it.
memphis thats weird and freaky, i was home alone a few months ago and i woke in the night to the sound of the TV on downstairs, scared the crap out of me, i just put it down to one of the animals in the end. Talking of animals, i really need to rehome one of my cats before the baby comes, i feel really bad about it, but i need to cut out as many stresses as possible.

CakeandRoses · 16/05/2011 21:38

quick break whilst dh gets me some wine, tea and choc cake Smile

memph that sounds really scary. I've always been a total wuss about spooky stuff, even tho normal, real stuff doesn't scare me. what will you do?

and your poor mouth... Sad

OP posts:
Trudyla · 17/05/2011 07:43

Thanks for the quiche suggestions MLIC and WSS. I will try them all but I think I will start with yours WSS. The no pastry thing does it for me. Will report back how it went.

vik Why do you have to rehome your cat? Sad Is she being nasty to the baby? For the first few weeks after M was born I was so scared that she had a cat allergy cos she was so sniffly. I don't know what I would have done. My cat is my world. Good luck with your MW appointment today. Let us know how it goes.

memph The spooky stuff would properly freak me out. Is there anything you could try to fix it? I don't know, maybe something like cleansing the atmosphere?

cake Sorry about making you feel broody Grin Go on, you know you want another!

I don't know why I feel the need to convince you all to have another one, too Grin

Nothing special planned today (cos my friend cancelled), the weather looks grim. What can I do with a 9 months old on a rainy day? Any ideas?

Cheerio.

CakeandRoses · 17/05/2011 07:52

vik that's very sad re your cat. why is that particular one a stress?

what time does D go to bed?

trudy sorry about your rubbish day. did you hear from that woman in the end?

mlic found the little book yet??!! percy and thomas have gone missing here and F's been kicking off (with dh not me) all morning as a result.

all ok there wss?

everything ok stac? been queit

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 17/05/2011 07:59

Morning everyone

Seems D has a cold, or hes teething, or both. He had a cold last time just before his bottom teeth came through, dont know if its any relation?

Also, does anyone have an apple crumble recipe? DP loves it, Ive never made it and the shop bought one is not the same.

WhatSheSaid · 17/05/2011 08:04

All good except for permanently-early-waking babies (who are just going to bed now, it's 7pm here).

I made bread today. From scratch, without a breadmaker or anything! It's pretty easy, just involves some waitign around while it does it's "rising yeasty business".

Will be back once we've put teh kids to bed.

memphis83 · 17/05/2011 08:15

trudyla, cakes and viksam well I didnt know what I was going to do, I was hoping by putting it on here you would all say oh its in your head, not that its freaky, im glad DH is not away this week now!! Other strange thing was yesterday evening the pup was looking out the french doors started crying, jumped on the sofa tried to claw behind is ans was so scared he pissed himself, he was shaking, not sure what he could see!!!!

L feel and smacked his face on the toilet bowl last night while i was running his bath and his bottom teeth went through his lip!! he woke in night in agony and he has only just woke up!!!

memphis83 · 17/05/2011 08:23

good luck today viksam
and **cakes was that a hint that maybe you have got til July to be pg with a 3rd before you have to go back to work? Grin

CakeandRoses · 17/05/2011 08:25

Poor L, memph that sounds really painful - not lucky in the mouth dept in your household at the mo

what are you going to do if the spooky stuff continues?

gah - crap about your early mornings wss. i would find that far worse than disrupted nights for some reason. Envy of your fresh bread tho

dh sometimes teething produces cold-like symptoms and sometimes they are more prone to bugs when they're teething so it prob is related.

on the teething front here, A slept thru (yay!) so i think her 4th tooth has broken thru tho i couldn't see properly when i looked earlier. F has another 'corner' of his molars thru, so we're exactly 25% of the way there .... talk about painful progress.

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 17/05/2011 08:29

xposted like mad

trudy and memph Don't!! I'm seriously broody at the mo but know that i really don;t want 3 children so that rather defeats the object, non? i even asked dh about whether he felt like he would like another one but he's firmly in the 'nope, we're done' corner now, which is just as well as before A he always said he wanted 3.

sorry trudy i had to grin at 'my cat is my world'. I love mine too tho Smile, sometimes it feels like he's the only one not doing my head in - and then he goes and has a fight and breaks his ear. sigh...

best of luck today vik v exciting

cakes the mouth front in this house is terrible, after i got L to sleep the pup jumped on dh as he sipped his tea, knocked his cup into his mouth and his mouth was bleeding too!!
So if your back to work in the summer and if that house is still on the market would that be a possibility?

I'm glad your dog is better MLIC. Did you find your book yet? In other words, tell us your meal plan Grin

cake Aww, that's a shame. I'll give up trying to make you broody then.

I feel the same about my cat cake. Whenever I think she is no trouble, she thinks of something naughty. She likes to attack the shower curtain when I'm in the shower. With all of memphises spooky stuff, she properly scared me this morning. I heard teeny tiny steps when in the shower, but couldn't see her, then she was suddenly there, like a ninja cat Grin

Well done on the bread WSS. Weren't you the one who said you can't cook or bake? Hmm

So has nobody got any rainy days ideas please? I M. will be bored.

CakeandRoses · 17/05/2011 09:47

that's good about your dog mlic. My old cat had a heart murmur for yonks but still lasted til nearly 17 when his kidneys gave out.

I hadn;t thought of it like that re 3rd baby and dh but you;re right, it does make it easier. tho i do have a little devil on my shoulder telling me if i reeeaaally wanted to get pg then i could persuade dh no probs Grin

trudy i don;t like giving ideas for stuff to do with babies as mine were both so easy, everyone just groans and says it would be ridiculous to do with theirs! But if you insist... i tend to stay in the house all morning regardless of weather and just let A play and nap whilst i bake/do household chores/MN, then have lunch together then go out in the afternoon - if it's rainy then we'll probably go to a cafe/shopping mall or maybe the cinema.
