Hi all just marking my place!

Grace is trying to drop 2 bottles Shock i ended up getting really upset about it on monday cause the health visitors last week said to make sure she doesn't drop any feeds till 6 months but i've relaxed a bit about it now and decided that i can't force her to take the milk however i am going to keep trying her on the bottles she wants to skip especially the evening one! She''s taken really well to food and i've doubled the amount of porridge she has since she decided she doesn't want a bottle at that time. We're still giving the bottles before food but it's as if she knows what time she gets food now and has decided she'd rather have that than milk. I've been making porridge with water up to now but if she's dropping that feed im going to start making it with formula so she's getting at least some of the calories from it.

I feel like all i've done for the last 5 months is worry about one thing or another (who knew being a mum would make you worry about every little thing) but she's a big healthy smiley girl so i'm just going to try to relax a bit now.

She's rolling from back to front every now and then as well and she sat up on her own on monday!

I went into work on Monday to discuss going back part time and my boss was less than impressed, he said he'd thik about it because the law requires him to so that basically means it won't be happening and i've got to go back full time Sad

Mammy i'm so glad your feeling a bit better, you'll figure out how to manage on less money and as long as you and your family are happy then thats all that really matters.

Marking my place too

FriggFRIGG · 16/02/2011 09:42

why heeelooo there....just marking my spot,be eback later! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 16/02/2011 09:58

Was going to suggest that you made up her food with formula newmum001. I wouldn't worry about it, although I didn't wean him until 23 weeks ds1 was only have 3 milk feeds a day by 7 months. You know your daughter and although hv are there to advise a lot of what they say is their personal opinion ime. Being a mum is the most wonderful thing in the world but I have never worried so much or felt so guilty in all my life. It doesn't get easier I'm afraid. So sorry about your boss, very silly that the law only states that employers have to consider part time hrs. A friend of mine wanted to have everyother Thursday off by working longer hrs other days but her boss said it would make life too difficult for her team so they let her have every Thursday afternoon off. This meant she commuted from Cambridge to London for a mornings work and was travelling nearly as long as she was at work :(

Feeling rubbish today buy one minded child is home with mummy today. Taking ds1 to dr at 11 as he was ill again last night but he's fine again this morning. Luke was up at 11, 3 and 5 last night too :(

beaditAli · 16/02/2011 10:07

cinnamon must have been a night for it! Jack thought 4am was a wonderful time to start reciting his vocabulary! Not impressed this morning Sad
The sun is out up here today which makes a HUGE difference to days like these Grin Hope it's a nice day for you too!

Going to attempt to get on an autobus today! Haven't been on one for ages and have no idea what the protocol is re: prams. Any insider tips so I don't get it wrong and embarrass myself??! Grin

No sign of enamel here yet but lots of ear tugging and fist chomping!

OP posts:
newmum001 · 16/02/2011 10:13

The thing is cinnamon he's got a temp in at the moment and i know for a fact that when i go back she'd want to do the days i wouldn't be in. I was wanting to do 3 days but he said it'd be better if i did 2 so he could offer 3 days to the other person to make it a more attractive offer for her but i swiftly told him where he could shove his 2 days! So i've now got to write him a letter outlining what i want and he will consider it but like i said i know he won't go for it.

I think i'll take Grace to get weighed today just for my own peice of mind, i know what you mean about the guilt, me and DP went out on Saturday and i felt like we were being completely selfish for needing a break. Grace was fine and had a great time with her nana but i couldn't seem to relax!

Better to be safe than sorry with your DS, hope he's feeling better

comixminx · 16/02/2011 10:17

Marking my place too - thanks for the new thread!

No teeth here yet nor even much rolling, but plenty of babbling and cooing. Haven't started proper BLW yet but am offering her little bits from my plate / bowl each time. Doesn't add up to much at all yet! Don't think she'll be dropping any feeds very soon.

newmum001 · 16/02/2011 10:19

beadit it sounds like a tooth is possibly on it's way, grace's just popped out one night! i was so shocked and excited that i cried Grin

No idea about the autobus but i shouldn't imagine prams being a problem. I take grace's smaller pram on busses as her big one takes up loads of room.

comixminx · 16/02/2011 10:19

beaditali, re prams on buses you need to be aware that if there's already a pram on board you might need to fold yours up! Or you can wait for the next bus of course. I often use a sling when on the bus for this reason.

lumpybananapuree · 16/02/2011 10:24

OOOh! Pretty new thread! although no roly poly or colgate here either Sad I did find Toby trying to clean ollys teeth with his toothbrush this morning. perhaps he knows something I don't!

back later. going to pixifoto!

saoirse86 · 16/02/2011 11:26

Oh banana that is so cute!

beadit what's an autobus? Blush Is it the same as a normal bus? Confused Your urbo is quite small so that should be fine I would've thought.

I've set up a fb event for our meet-up and just invited everyone in the group in case there are people who will want to come but haven't been on the thread for a while. Sorry to those who already have said no, I wasn't sure how to change it.

Debs75 · 16/02/2011 12:39

No rolling or teeth here yet either, although she is chomping in my fingers so teeth might be soon.
She has found her voice in the last few days and is very chatty and singy now.
I bathed her in the big bath last night with DD2 and for the first time she actually liked it. I may have to bath her more often now.

cinnamongreyhound · 16/02/2011 13:17

Ds1 has a chest infection so glad I took him! I'm feeling worse so I'm cuddled up under ds1's duvet on the sofa. Minded little girl is playing with train set, ds1 is watching cbeebies and Luke is in his cot asleep. Not the best advert for a Childminder today, and not looking forward to the school run :(

mapletrees · 16/02/2011 13:28

beadit, maybe Jack was talking to Louis - he was up (for an hour and a half Angry) at about that time chatting away loudly but happily and shuffling around in circles. Was still a better night than usual as I only had to get up 5 times and feed 3 Smile (was up every hr on Sun and Mon Sad)

24 weeks today Grin

mapletrees · 16/02/2011 13:29

That's pants cinnamon. Hope you both get better soon, x

FriggFRIGG · 16/02/2011 14:15

wel Arlo is doing lots of rolling, front to back.and back to front, its very anyoing as he will not lay still for a nappy change any more!
he just desperatly trys to roll over!
when hes on his front his tummy is totally off the floor and he's up on all fours trying to crawl madly !
and when he's on his back (rare) he try's to sit up,but once he is sitting he wobbles over,we play a game now, called baby left? baby right?! to guess which way he will fall Grin

today i met a very odd woman,i wouldnt normaly say this, but how do you politely terminate a freindship...Confused

Arlo- 24 weeks 16lb 5oz

FriggFRIGG · 16/02/2011 14:16

Dixiebell · 16/02/2011 15:39

Hi all. Arlo #2 had his third set of Vaccinations today. Was a bit moany earlier so I let him sleep on me rather than putting him down. Have now been trapped on the sofa for over 2 hours. Need a wee, and gasping for a Brew, but don't want to wake him, he never sleeps on me any more, it's like the old days! :)

beaditAli · 16/02/2011 18:10

saoirse yeah..... just me being weird.... we call them autobuses or peasent wagons Blush
I loved it and Jack loved it too so will definitely be hoping on the bus more often! Easier than trekking in and out with the car seat etc etc and no city centre parking! Yeay!

Hope you got your Brew dixie

lumpybananapuree · 16/02/2011 18:10

FriggFRIGG ha ha ha ha ha! (at the boobies) Whay was the woman strange? need more info if we're to advise on friendship termination!

Cinammon hope you're all feeling better soon!

Well we had our Pixifotos done & they're fab! only spent £100 so was quite impressed.

newmum Don't worry about the milk, after what I posted about Olly, he's back on it now! have you tried this routine:

5am (or when wakes! 3am this morning!) milk
8am breakfast
10am milk
12md dinner
2pm milk
4.30pm tea
6.30 milk

Thats what I do and did with Toby. just seemed more logical than trying to do both milk & solids at the same time. Although I know that works for some, mine haven't got massive appetites so works better.

Stop all this rolling you little babies, My ollys one of the oldest, you're showing him up!! Envy

beaditAli · 16/02/2011 18:37

hopping!

lumps Jack will teach Olly! Wink
