Pistachio I hope your baby makes its appearance as soon as it is safe to do so (when is that, btw?) because it sounds really difficult at the moment for you. This weather has been amazing but I'm feeling really knackered from it all so I can't even begin to imagine how you are feeling very pg and with 2 dc! Enjoy the bank holidays! X

Honeymoonmummy · 22/04/2011 21:43

Thanks guys. I think topless would have shocked the photographer Star! Grin There is nothing worse than a hairdressers appt when you have SPD is there Pistachio, you don't like to ask them if you can walk around. Take care of yourself and try to get as much rest as possible- easier said than done I know!

We've had such a lovely day today, we didnt get out of the door until 1 but went to a local farm, belongs to national trust I think, got bouncy castle which Pops LOVED, sandpit (LOVED), animals (BIT WARY), mini tractor and trailers which DH squeezed into with Pops (Pops LOVED, DH may never walk the same again Wink)

Gave Dylan his first bottle today - the Gaviscon. Pops gave it to him, so sweet. He seemed a bit better than normal afterwards but early days.

Well that's when Q came so I know it's possible :) we can hope, anyway!

HMM - sounds like a lovely day :)

BertieBotts · 23/04/2011 09:31

Hello - I'm back again. Finding the new "Most Recently Active" option in I'm On better for keeping up with threads like this, so I thought I'd see if I can stick around this time!

Can't remember what was happening with me last time I posted, but I have a lovely 'new' man - well, 6 months now. He's really kind and gentle and just such a contrast to XP. XP however went and got a new gf 3 months after we split, she was pregnant within a week(!) and they have now split up. Baby is 4 months old :( He's hardly seeing DS now as well. Maybe once every 4-5 weeks? He also got sacked from his job where he was working for his best mate because he was stealing/embezzling money from the company, so he's now unemployed, and lucky his friend didn't press charges really.

Ryan/DS is doing really well, he loves dancing and singing and is big into Thomas. He's starting to recognise letters which is a bit scary, but OTOH potty training (and sleeping through) seem impossibly far away. I'm actually thinking of switching to cloth nappies just because we borrowed one from a friend and he seemed to like it - and I did too - and it's supposed to make PT easier. I have some prefolds which I've never used so would only need wraps I think. Does anyone else still use them?

Honeymoonmummy · 23/04/2011 13:21

Hi Bertie, welcome back! Sounds like you're well rid of XP and an glad you have new man. I don't know about cloth nappies unfortunately.

I am having a bad day today, just when you thought you'd got rid of whiney HMM. DS has been feeding since approx 1am this morning non-stop give or take 30 mins here and there. Im exhausted, DH is in a crap mood which isn't helping, we supposed to see Peppa Pig this afternoon but not looking forward to it now. He's has a fewgaviscon but so far seems to be worse, screaming when he's not feeding. Sad I just want to sleep Sad

Honeymoonmummy · 23/04/2011 13:22

Actually no, I exaggerate, he slept between about 3-4am and 6-7 am.

BertieBotts · 23/04/2011 17:11

I can sympathise with just wanting to sleep! I moved Ryan into his own bed about 5-6 weeks ago (we were co-sleeping before) and he's now waking more than he did, so I'm getting woken up in the night again. I feel okay for a few days and then it hits me. I have 13 days to finish a couple of assignments but every time I get some downtime without Ryan I fall asleep. Today we had a 2.5 hour nap which sounds great but he probably won't sleep until gone midnight now. He was great as a newborn, I'm getting payback now!

Honeymoonmummy · 23/04/2011 17:42

Did you guys start a new thread without me? [paranoid] Hmm

CSWS, I'm probably not giving the gav a proper chance but
I am wondering about the cows milk protein now. He's been worse if anything today, already had 4 of his 6max doses. His poos are really loose, bit darker than Poppy's were but with 'seeds'
In them, have been frothy on occasion, he is covered in 'baby acne' (as diagnosed by HV and two docs)

HavePatience · 23/04/2011 20:11

:( HMM sorry no good advice, just a ((hug))

Bertie - I used disposables but use cloth at night and naps as a "just in case" now. I just picked a week when I had time and Q was asking about toilets because of a 3 year d at the childminder, so we just did it. I know it's not recommended and people say you should wait but hey, it worked for us :)

Honeymoonmummy · 23/04/2011 21:10

Sorry Bertie, I didn't see your response, i must not have refreshed Blush

HavePatience · 23/04/2011 21:34

We are at 988. Go ahead and start a new one, HMM. I'm too scared to do it Blush And have no clever thread title.

HavePatience · 23/04/2011 21:37

Ronshar are you ok?

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/04/2011 23:08

Just saying a quick hello. Have spent the last 2 days sorting baby clothes into labelled bags ready for a car boot on May Day, and they still aren't finished! Is getting v dull now, but at least it will clear a load of clutter from the house, and hopefully make a bit of money too. Pleeeeeaasse let people buy them!

HMM - was Peppa Pig great? Is it the same one we went to, with puppets, or a new one?
Since you've asked my advice, I am going to be stern and say that I really really really think that you should TOTALLY give up dairy for a minimum of 2 weeks, and not make any judgements before that. If he gets better and you then want to isolate whether it is because of the non-dairy or the gaviscon then we can experiment then, but the main thing now is that you want him to get better, because it will put you all in a better frame of mind to think about it.
Your photos were lovely. If I wasn't specifically looking for ones of you bf'ing I would have thought that you were just giving him a cuddle in some of them.

Welcome back Bertie. You definitely sound much better off without XP. I haven't used my real nappies much with ds1. MM/50ft would be the one to talk to, but she doesn't really come on here any more. Or Myjob can prob advise too actually.

Honeymoonmummy · 24/04/2011 03:58

[meekly accepts CSWSs stern advice] yes it was with the puppets. I didn't know you'd gone too csws, Her face was a picture and it was our first experience of "are we there yet? Are we there yet?" in the car on the way there!

I really didnt want to go dairy free cos it made me miserable last time but I think I'm going to try it, will wait till next shop so I can get oat milk and lots of dairy free chocolate!!

What a bloomin rollercoaster having a newborn is!!

pepperrabbit · 24/04/2011 11:11

Morning, just popping in.
Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend and the sunshine, bit hazier here today but still hope to have lunch outside (need to do a fearsome amount of cleaning if guests want to come indoors!)
DD appears to have slapped cheek, Hmm face rash appeared yesterday, all over her neck and chest this morning. Can't tell if the boys are carrying it yet and are poised to have the rash for the first day of term....
My Dad has had to go back to the hospital this morning, he's just not beating this infection and his foot is still swollen, now he has a rash too apparently Sad. Obviously he should have stayed in first time round Angry.
My guest list for lunch is dwindling fast!

Coconutfeet · 24/04/2011 11:13

Welcome back Bertie. I agree with the others, it sounds like you are so much better off without XP. Sympathies about the sleep though. I'm dreading moving S into his own room as I bet he'll be much the same.

CSWS - Car boots are such a lot of work aren't they? But baby/children's stuff seems to sell really well, so as long as the sun shines you should do OK.

Sorry to hear you're struggling HMM and Pistachio - I can't believe it's 38 weeks already!

We've been having a quiet weekend at home, doing very little. Had a little easter egg hunt in the garden this morning and now back to schoolwork. [yawn]

pepperrabbit · 24/04/2011 11:13

HMM - were you really posting at 4am Shock! Or are you in a different timezone? (Land of the Small Babies perhaps [buwink])

HavePatience · 24/04/2011 12:39

Hi all. Hmm listen to csws! Q says "are we nearly there?" sounding very British, which is odd as he's been home for a while now, not at cm.

Pepper I hope your dad is on the mend and getting proper treatment soon.

We are going to the miniature railway today. It opens today until October for bank holiday sun/mon and first Sunday of every month. It's so fun there :)

HavePatience · 24/04/2011 12:44

Csws what did happen to 50ft?
Brave doing a carboot! I'm passing mine on to a little boy at Q's cm.

ronshar · 24/04/2011 22:09

HMM. I too will put my hands on hips and say cut out all dairy. I had to and to be honest after a few weeks it was easy. Did I mention that it also helped me to lose half a stone?
Pistachio, the end is in sight, at the very most you have four weeks.

Hello Berti. Nice to see you again.

Holidays almost finished. Yipee.
We are off to Paultons tomorrow. I shall let you know how much fun Peppa pig world is!

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/04/2011 22:50

star - 50ft is buried under a pile of wool and needs to knit her way out before she can make it to a computer Wink (though hopefully she'll manage to get out from under it for her visit to me next weekend).

Envy ronshar. Have fun and report back.

I've never done a car boot sale before star, so I hadn't realised how much work it would be. I've never even been to one, let alone sold at one.

:( for all the sickness pepper.

Can you explain how dairy free made you miserable hmm, so that we can try to find ways to help you not be so miserable this time? My dc screaming in pain made me far more miserable than giving up dairy did.
Did I mention already that we tried having dairy again for 3 weeks recently? We thought at first that J might be ok with it, but he got more and more miserable and clingy. He was teething too, but last week I cut out the bits of dairy that had crept in and he quickly went back to being his happy self. So it's back to a dairy free existence.

50ftQueenie · 25/04/2011 13:54

Booooo!
