it appears I posted the last post... so here's a new thread

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
pepperrabbit · 18/04/2011 21:04

Did I scare everyone away!?
Does a little light dusting in the meantime...

HavePatience · 18/04/2011 21:34

Sorry to hear about your dad, pepper :( I hope you can coax him into getting tested. How very, very scary.

We were in London today because needed to be at US embassy to replace dh's lost passport. He gave the forms, paid the fee, gave the photos and then waited about an hour... Finally, his number was called and the guy said "good news! Your application has been approved" then he asked dh loads of questions about when he last saw it...etc before taking the envelope and telling him he'd get his new one within 14 days. ??? "approved"??
We were laughing at what would have happened if he wasn't approved... Just be a citizen of.... Nowhere? Haha!

Spent the rest of the time at natural history museum looking at all of the dinosaurs and animals. Q was in heaven. :)

Pepper - It must be frustrating for you trying to convince your dad that he should have the test. Good luck!

Havepatience - How odd that your dh needed to be approved. Thank god he was!

Pistachio -How long is it since ds dropped his nap?

I spent the day yesterday with my two teenage neices taking it in turns to supervise ds and decorate our kitchen. Amazingly we got the whole thing decorated in a day (it's quite big). I've got them coming over today and tomorrow for more jobs, although I'm tempted to get one of them to look after ds for a couple of hours so I can just have a break.

HavePatience · 19/04/2011 14:15

Teenage neice's sound fab, cf :) great idea - have them around every day for a few hours!

Pistachio - how awful! :( will they do "quiet time" to give you a little rest? If I put Q in the middle of a lot of books he will stay there semi quietly for quite a while...
Q has been napping 2-3 hours still from 1pm or 1.30 until 4pm. Then sleeping from 7.30/8 (we start bedtime stuff at 7 as it's a month long holiday for him now) until 7.30/8am Shock
I really think he's paying us back for all of the lost sleep at night and wicked early mornings in his first 2 years!

HavePatience · 19/04/2011 15:35

nieces
Hmm

Honeymoonmummy · 19/04/2011 16:27

Blimey Star, I thought we had a newbie then!! Wink

Not much to report here, taking Dylan to cranial in 30 mins, I can't believe he's 4 weeks old tomorrow!

Pepper, I'm sorry to hear your dads been unwell, how scary for you and grandchildren.

Don't be Blush pistachio! :) I use cbeebies, too when needed. And Q has a nap! I'm actually not fussed about it at all (I thought I'd be so worried about hours of tv before having him). But some days he watches a few shows when he first wakes in the morning, sometimes not, sometimes just before lunch other times not, usually in winter or rainy day before bed for itng. On days like today he's outside all day other than nap. If he's ill, I tend to just let him watch tv whenever he wants. He isn't interested in sitting and watching anything for longer than 10 mins at a time anyway (right now).
But I just don't worry about it. I know it's not excessive and if I "limit" it to an extreme like my parents did, that's not good either. I don't want it to be a big deal.
Fingers crossed this works out well. But, like all parenting choices... Who knows?! Grin

Good luck at the CO, HMM. I always noticed a change immediately after our visits with Q. When he had digestive issues and wouldn't poo for a long time, he'd poo right there with her every time. The first time when she was sorting ventouse discomfort, he stopped crying and was a different baby that same night.
Fingers crossed for you and Dylan x

Lol pistachio! When Q says that, I'll do the same!

Have fun cleaning the kitchen ... Or... Um... Supervising Grin

Myjob what have you been doing for your holiday? How is B enjoying being away from school? I know he loves it, but is he really tired by the time holidays come around?

I was considering peppa pig world for next week but not sure.
We're going to see Thomas at watercress line tomorrow, so that's already expensive. I'll see how week goes.

Pistachio, I love your version of nesting - Passive nesting - why didn't I think of that?! Grin

Star I hope that you have a lovely day with Thomas Smile

My Job, I'm sorry to hear you're exhausted, I hope you get some rest soon. Boo re laptop, you haven't had it that long have you?

Honeymoonmummy · 20/04/2011 02:56

Oh no immediate change in DS following CO, he did say it was worth taking him tho and we're going back next week.

Coconutfeet · 20/04/2011 16:16

Smile at nesting by proxy Pistachio.

HavePatience · 20/04/2011 20:27

Fab day with Thomas. There was so much to do! I've posted photos on fb :) I didn't take too many as was just Q and I (because so expensive!) so was busy with him but was soooo much fun!

ronshar · 20/04/2011 21:52

I am here in spirit if not actually here.
Nice name change.

I have nothing to say at all of any worth. I am beyond tired. I am not looking forward to the summer holidaysShock

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/04/2011 22:07

Looks like a great day star.

Honeymoonmummy · 22/04/2011 12:11

Sorry to hear you're so knackered Ronshar. Star, it looks like you had a lovely day, I love the photos, looks like the same engine that we get in Wales. Just picked up some infant Gaviscon from the chemist, saw the doc yesterday after he screamed his way through a weigh-in (gained 7oz Smile) HV told me to get him to docs.

Honeymoonmummy · 22/04/2011 20:29

Where the blinking heck is everyone?? We have thunder here. we've booked to see Peppa Pig concert tomorrow, I can't wait to see Poppy's face. Am about to put the newborn photoshoot pics on FB INCLUDING THE ONES WHERE I'M BF - EEK!! We were about to show them to FIL in a screenshow on our big screen telly via the x-box, I said to DH won't he be a bit weird abou the BF ones, DH says "no, he won't even notice that's what you're doing". Put pictures on screen and Pops pipes up "mummy milk, mummy milk" [slaps forehead emoticon]

Honeymoonmummy · 22/04/2011 20:34

Uploaded. Oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap. Should've left the BFing ones off Blush

HavePatience · 22/04/2011 21:03

Hmm they are all beautiful and you can't see a thing in the bf ones - just baby feeding but no "exposure" iyswim. Actually I was quite impressed at how naturally discreet you are bf at such early days. At that time with Q I was sitting topless crying from pain on the sofa Blush
