HKZ lol at the possibility of keeping the new arrival a secret from family. "Oh ya, we had the baby a couple of days ago... sorry I didn't tell you, must have slipped my mind." Grin

Tink What a lovely holiday to look forward too. A bit Envy over here. We are looking forward to our big annual Mama Group family camping trip in July. Its only about 2 1/5 hours north of here, but the town is so quaint and very interesting; there was a large group of Japanese and Chinese immigrants that moved up there during the war and so there is a little influence of those cultures there, which is a little bizarre for a small town in Canada. There is this great little market, loads of local produce and rare products that you find in speciality shops in Victoria and goats on the thatched, grass roofs of the market place... yup, goats on the roofs. Its so funny to be shopping with the sounds of bleating coming from above. The campground has a pool and hot tub and a man-made lake with a little sandy beach. Oh, I can't wait!!

Dog Eewww... hope you get that sorted. Doesn't sound pleasant at all. My dad use to pull his own teeth. It was an ordeal with its own ritual even. Pliers, cotton balls, boiling kettle, dettol. lol. He just went at it. Oh god, I couldn't imagine. He had great dental coverage too with General Motors; never understood why he wouldn't go himself.

We are looking at two places tomorrow. One is a lovely condo actually, but is the top floor with vaulted ceilings and 2 bathrooms! Nice balcony too... We lived here without much outside space to use so no big deal. Besides, we are out all the time when its not raining and we'll be busy with the studios too. I grew up in an apartment, ground floor, but whatever. It certainly forces you to get out. Its secure building too, which is pleasing for me in case UG finds out where we are living. He won't be able to access the building unless I buzz him in.

GotArt · 13/01/2011 17:03

I bought DD tempera paint blocks but all she wants to do is place with the blocks and water, not paint. Oh well, guess it'll come. lol

Teaandcakeplease · 13/01/2011 18:53

DS likes the paint blocks but I think he's been watching his sister and wants to join in but he sneaks the brush in his mouth when no one is looking Grin

That condo sounds nice, I live in a flat, you're right about it forcing you out into the fresh air.

Bought DD a little bike today that was cheap cheap, she's not bad on it actually. She cycled it back from school, with me attaching the wrist rein thingy to the handle bars to help drag along. She looked so cute.

HKZ enjoy the new born visit Smile Hope it helps Wink

Tink, holiday sounds lush Envy

GotArt · 13/01/2011 18:56

When we were at the art store buying the blocks, and some other things, I'd turned around and saw DD with one of the blocks in her mouth. Crazy kids.

Lenni · 13/01/2011 22:51

Work is great HKZ, but so much to do and LA review next week, joy of joys, so loads of planning to do. I'm really enjoying the small classes, it's amazing how much you can get done in a short time. And I already feel like I know all the kids, even though I've only spent a couple of hours with each group. It's quite strange being in a tiny little room and basically having to talk to the same people for an hour, but it is great.

About DD's labour - I did speak to my community mw afterwards. The MWs didn't raise a lot of the continuity issues during the labour as the consultant's calculations of how long my waters had been broken had lost 24 hours so I avoided more intervention. I was told not to mention how long it had been when I tried to correct them, in the long run I'm glad as I would have ended up with a CS, and even though it was pretty dreadful I did have a 'normal' ish delivery in the end. Anyway, that's the first and last time I'm discussing it on here with all these preggars people around.

Back to those people... any babies yet without mentioning them Hmm

Lenni · 13/01/2011 22:53

Sorry, twas dog who asked about work. My brain doesn't work.

Teaandcakeplease · 14/01/2011 07:54

Hi

Stressed and knackered here.

On nights so see you all later.

Really glad you are enjoyng the job Lenni, hope all the childcare is working ok and it's all going smoothly.

hackneyzoo · 14/01/2011 19:50

Lenni, glad job is going good. Small classes are the way forward... my largest teaching group was 14!

Tree, hope weekend isn't too knackering....

Pat how are BIL and DSIS doing? Hope all is ok.

I need help....lovely lovely friend of mine is getting married at rather short notice at the end of feb...in Dublin...hopefully I can go and just pop over for a night with the baby (if it ever shows up)...but WTF do I wear? I need something I can BF in that isn't a hideous sack! Any ideas...I like retro, tea dress style sort of stuff...I am guessing I will be a size 12/14... any idea much appreciated.

OP posts:
PatTheHammer · 14/01/2011 20:29

Grrrrrr, my SMALLEST class is 14Envy

The others are all 30 plus, little buggers! No kids today as INSET though, hurrah!

Tea-dress sounds lovely, have you tried the Monsoon sale? Or TKMAXX if you don't want to spend a lot.

BIL doing ok but no guarantees about the right leg yet. They are discharging in two weeks to help recovery at home and then re-admitting to a hospital in Roehampton for a few months for physio and learning to use the prosthetic. Legal stuff has all started......will take a total of.........drumroll.............4 fecking years! Not sure what they are meant to do in the meantime!
Apparently he is much more with it now, my sister was telling me about his hallucinations when he was on all the pain meds, sounded awfulSad. The hospital also gave him a ketamin overdose at one stage and he has sustained nerve damage to his right arm from so much time in surgery, great isn't it! Also, some wanker wrote of my sister's car in the hospital car park the other week. He was meant to be doing 5mph but was doing about 30 without his lights on at 8.30pm in the evening. what a toolAngry. Anyway, BIL's company have given my sister a car in the meantime and they are still being really good.......for now!

In good news, she had a scan on thursday and there is definitely one very clear baby with a strong heartbeat.Plus a gestational sac, with what could be a baby but not clear so she is going back next week but they have told her it could be reabsorbed. But great news about the clear baby, how fab!!!Grin

So, whats happening? To lazy to read all the chat, hope everyone ok.

Good work so far Lenni. Tree hope weekend goes well, bummer about CTC, I am soscared about ours as DH due a good bonus this year. How is everyone else?
HKZ- get a move on will youWink

Dog, how is your abcess? They are painful as hell, never had a tooth one but had some on my back, yuk!

Gotart- UG is a tosspot and cannot believe that row, how is it all now?

Spoke to Books on FB the other day, nice to hear from her, she is on enforced MN ban at the moment to get more done!

Lenni- fat boy comparing day sounds goodGrin, we have no plans in half term yet, not sure when MissJ back.Oh, I have a naked photo to email you of the 3 in the bath which you must pester me about, is your email on FB?

Oh yes, got my masters acceptance today, shitting myself now I have seen the work involved.

Oh and started my exercise regime in earnest after a break since August when DH wasn't here and I coldn't be arsed. Aqua aerobics on a wednesday (funny and not too hard) running on a thurs (bloody hard!) and swim on a sat or sunday morning (whichever is easier). Also thinking of circuit training on a sunday evening but I will see how this week goes first..........I WILL wear a bikini this summer! Put on 7lbs over XmasBlush 4lbs gone already but still 3 to shift and then to tackle the stone that I have put on since stopped exercising in august.

Teaandcakeplease · 14/01/2011 20:38

Pat you looked gorgeous already in my opinion so you'll look amazing by the Summer with this fitness regime Envy

Does this mean she might be pregnannt with twins if the other sac isn't reabsorbed?

It all sounds so hard with your BIL and the added drama with the car too. Keep us all posted x

I know nothing about fashion and tea dresses so I can't help HKZ sorry Blush I live in Evans clothes Shock I'm a size 16 except my jeans are now a 14 recently. No clue. Sorry, Pat's suggestions sounded good though.

PatTheHammer · 14/01/2011 20:45

Tea- Thats great that you have dropped a jeans size without trying! Well done. I need to get back to a size 10 to feel comfortable. Not so worried about what I actually weigh but I do know that I was a stone heavier before Christmas than I was in July. I really want to tone up my stomach too as it just still feels really wibbly wobbly, two years down the line!

YEs, could still be twins but they are not sure whether the sac was empty or not, they sould know next week apparently.Amazing how quick they grow and develop at this stage innit!

Oh, forgot that Z has moved up to the toddler room at nursery since monday. He has settled reasonably well, cries when dropped off but really happy when picked up. And today, no tears this morning Smile!! He looks so grown up with all the big boys and girls and he is talking LOADS all of a sudden. Missing his keyworker lots though bless him, she was part of the family as far as he was concernedGrin

Teaandcakeplease · 14/01/2011 20:49

Ahh Pat I find divorces are a great weight loser Wink Just kidding I just can't be bothered to eat a lot, that's why I've lost weight - so do not try this at home Blush Bless your little man and missing his key worker. Bella misses hers from Pre School still. He sounds like he's doing so well.

Teaandcakeplease · 14/01/2011 20:50

P.S How cool if it was twins?

GotArt · 14/01/2011 22:43

Pat All the best for BIL... boy oh boy with hassles of the hospital and then having to deal with a jackass writing off the car while its parked there. Man. At least they have a new baby to look forward to.

UG hasn't made a peep, nor has his GF. The funny saying DH and I keep saying now, between ourselves, when DD starts to cry, is "You can't cry anymore V, you're disturbing someone who has to wipe asses all day." GF works as an, oh I don't know what its called; she's not a nurse but works under them. She hates her job, but come on, we can't be held responsible for choice to school and become something she really wasn't keen on. You've got to know what is going to be entailed in your job before you go to school. It will be interesting when we leave because they won't be able to use us as an scapegoat for all the unpleasantness in their own lives.

The one flat we were going to look at got rented but the condo was great. Brand new. They're still finishing and landscaping, walking distance to mall, park and Langford Lake, where I go running and take DD swimming in the summer. Bus stop right out the front door. Top floor, (the heat wasn't on but it was warm in there so that is a good sign). W/D, DW and even a garbarator in the sink! Never had one of those. Pretty posh. Large window, lots of light, underground secure parking, visitor parking around back. So very excited. I'm crunching numbers and we'll ring today. We want it, but need to be sure we won't leave ourselves too strapped, but once the gallery starts to generate money, income tax this year and an increase in child tax benefits plus my selling work that I will finally be able to get back to, we'll be fine. DH is always pessimistic when I'm optimistic and vice versa.

Teaandcakeplease · 14/01/2011 22:45

Oh wow it sounds great GotArt, love the sound of the condo Envy Do it do it do it Smile

Auxillary nurse is it? Confused

GotArt · 15/01/2011 04:54

Ya, I think so. Not what we call them here, but I know what you're saying. I just realized its probably not so clear about the comment DH and I say... UG, in his stream of yelling at me, had said something along the lines of his GF working 12 hour days wiping people's asses and she should be able to get some undisturbed sleep. It cracks me up, (hahahah, crack, hahahaha) that that would be the reason she needs sleep, cause she's wiping asses all day, like she is an assembly line worker or something that has a conveyer belt of asses going by her she wipes. lol. Sorry, that's mean, but a little funny, visually.

Teaandcakeplease · 15/01/2011 08:14

I figured he'd said something along those lines. LOL at the vision of the conveyer belt ass wiping Smile

hackneyzoo · 15/01/2011 10:21

Flat sounds good GotArt...link to pics Grin

Still pregnant, although I did manage to get DH to induce seduce me earlier....so lets hope that works. Got MW coming later (hopefully) for another sweep too..oh joy!
