DD, who is nearly 4, isn't night trained yet, am just going to wait for her pull ups to be dry and do it when she's ready as i can't be arsed. She was late and reluctant with potty training. Neither of them seem remotely bothered by dirty/wet nappies...so think it might be a while until they are both fully trained. J sits on loo every now and again, but only because its his preferred position for playng with his will Grin Blush

x fingers for stripey.

Well its house of pox here, J is covered in spots, so waiting for other two to get it. Shit timing as it means I can't visit my dad as thhe baby mighht be contagious and I can't leave her. grrr.

right, off to think up quarantine activities. Anyone have a good home made pizza recipe?

willy not will... that would be weird!

Tree, haven't even unpacked Amby as DD is sleeping in crib (touch every bit of wood and cross fingers) Am thinking that her unsettledness might have been due to antibiotics, we shall see. Am annoyed now as have an Amby I don't need and am trying to declutter...so if anyone knows of anyone looking for one...

ebay it I say HKZ Smile

I don't think my brother wants your clip on Jonelle blue seat now, he went and picked up a high chair without telling me, so I need to post it back to you actually Grin

missjackson · 22/02/2011 09:55

Oh no hkz sorry for spotty kids. Hope they aren't too miserable with it. At least it's all at once... how is your Dad?

I'm sure 120 will help with the pizza! You can make nice faces.

Potty training - we almost had it in Australia as it sort of happened naturally (easy with tiled floors and lovely warm weather!) but then once we started on our road trip we couldn't risk an accident in the car seat, so went back to nappies... we will wait till summer I suppose - he loves weeing in the loo and often wakes up with a dry nappy and has a big pee first thing. Not in any hurry though - changing 3 nappies a day has got to be way easier than a full change of clothes every time he has an accident!

Massively pg here and grumpy. Can't get enough sleep as N gets in with me halfway thru the night (I then kick DH out) and squidges up against me all night long. But don't have the heart to deny mummy cuddles now when everything is about to change. Want to buy a massive new super-king bed for nearly 2K but DH is resistant Hmm... last time I was 8.5 months pregnant I spent a lot of money on lovely but wholly impractical grown up sofas, so I can sort of understand his reluctance Grin. Will wait and see how it works out with LO.

stripey fingers xed for you too, how exciting! My ridiculous symptom-spotting this time around included a bloody nose (not a full on nose bleed) and losing circulation in 2 of my toes! That was in the first week I think. I tested on day 9-10 I was so sure.

Teaandcakeplease · 22/02/2011 10:24

OH yes so sorry about the pox HKZ Sad

hackneyzoo · 22/02/2011 11:26

Tea Please pass the seat on or charity shop it... am on a mission to de-clutter. how is your dn doing?

Can empatise with you MissJ, the last bit drags on, especially with a toddler to chase after. Go for the bed. I really need a bigger bed since there now seem to be 5 of us squished up in it every morning. So go for it...impulse pregnancy buys are the best. Just tell dh you are nesting and couldn't help it.

Right , off to m and s for comfort food pizza making essentials

PatTheHammer · 22/02/2011 12:04

Oh no to the pox hkz! Hope its all mild and passes quickly. Z barely noticed when he had it and DD never caught it from him, so good luck!

MissJ- Yes to a bloody nose, I had that all the way through with mine, every time I blew my nose it was disgusting[vom]. Think its to do with increased blood flow and stuff. How funny I had forgotten all about that!
Oh and just buy a new bed, you know it makes sense as N is not going to stop getting inGrin.

Just been to aerobics this morning whilst DD at a freinds house, think I might be getting addictedBlush. DH off today so we are going into Cheltenham after lunch to get Ballet shoes and other essentialsGrin

hi all. can't believe you have pox hz. on the plus side we can see you as mine have both had it.

Pizza - for v quick ones, you toast a pitta bread, split in half and retoast. that is your base.

sauce - either jar of m&s pasta sauce or v quick tomato sauce (onion, garlic, tin toms, oregano, salt, slick of ketchup or tsp sugar).

garnish - olives cheese ham pineapple mushrooms pear sweetcorn tuna etc in little bowls. pear and gorgonzola pizzas are the best imo

lol at vast bed for you mj

dog sorry joss has mouth thrush.. you are going through it a bit at the moment aren't you!

tinksbabyis2 · 22/02/2011 16:52

Oh no 4 pox!
Glad butlins gd
Dd2 not that fond of potty yet!
Hi miss j

GotArt · 22/02/2011 17:48

HKZ Sucks about the pox. We are all waiting for it around here. There does seem to be lots pneumonia, which I know isn't contagious, but worrying about why so much. Two of DD's friends have it again! At least you know your dad is in good hands for the time being. We have eat pizza lots around here... DD see a commercial and goes crazy and its just 'Pizza mummy, pizza mummy dinnertime!'

MissJ I've been trying to get a king size bed for us but DH says 'No'. lol. We do need a proper dining table though...

Stripey Have I missed something? Possibly baby? Grin

DD and I are still sick. My ears are getting plugged up now. She was up coughing last night. At least today is gorgeous out so we can go for a nice walk. Staying away as much as possible from other humans though.

SIL rang yesterday to ask about when a good time to come out west would be. She wanted to come with MIL June, just after baby comes. Shock SIL, fine... MIL, good grief. She's alright for the most part, but can be a handful sometimes and as she gets older, seems moreso. She is a chain smoker and loves her wine too. I told DH that I don't care if they come, but they can't stay here as we just don't have the room and I'm not to keen on having the place turned upside-down for 2 weeks with newborn and toddler in a 2 bedroom condo. DH will be working and I'll have the gallery to deal with too so won't have loads of spare time so it won't be so bad.

Made my first batch of marmalade yesterday. I am shocked how much work went into 4, 250ml jars! Won't be making that too much.

Hello to everyone else. Hope everyone's Tuesday was fab.

missjackson · 22/02/2011 19:33

just had to say, with mouth watering.... 120 pear and gorgonzola pizzas = lush! Waitrose do them actually and they are best ever.

GotArt · 22/02/2011 19:38

They don't have a decent gorgonzola at the shop I was just at; just a SuperStore... big box place where you buy mammoth sized stuff for a little less. Went for juice. Don't know what we are going to have for dinner.

120 · 22/02/2011 20:22

we had roast chicken wraps for dinner. It's fab as even H manages to get salad and chicken in, then manhandles it into his fist. good fun! yes he eats salad. god knows how or why. DD's most famous line this month was that 'school is more yuckable than salad' which says it all really. Her saving grace is that she loves brocolli soup! And comes out with great quotes Grin.

MJ, waitrose? shame on you.. get thee to the kitchen Wink. Asda do amazing gorgonzola, and great frozen felafel too.

Right in laws have gone en masse to the pub so am off to bed with a book. night all.

tinksbabyis2 · 22/02/2011 21:28

Hey 120, thanks for recipe...am after one for the dough though, do you have one for that? you guysare welcome to come by for lunch or tea if you aren't too in lawed up...or you want to escape Grin

Pear and gorgonzola does sound good. Favourite salad is pear with gorogonzola or canembert with rocket, pine nuts and balsamic. mmmmmm

poor J is completely spotty, even in his mouth and he seems to have d&v as a symptom too, poor boy. Lots of washhing.

Lily and hebe don't have it though. Does thhis mean they can go out or do I have to keep them in quarantine just in case? (please god noooooooooo!)

Just got a big fat windy proper smile off Hebe

OP posts:
treedelivery · 23/02/2011 13:44

Oh poor J, sounds awful.

I'd put the amby up, maybe in a different room? She might enjoy a swing about and you could mumsnet Grin

Good luck Stripey, all is crossed.
Glad you had a good time DOG.

I feel like poo, so I haven't read properly. Sorry BlushBig waves to all though.

tinksbabyis2 · 23/02/2011 16:39

hi hkz poor j i would probably keep them in too

just about managing today
not too bad staying in house more hassel to drag girls out
off to a friends tom

120 · 23/02/2011 19:24

basic pizza/bread dough:

1 tsp dried yeast
1 tbsp strong plain flour or wholemeal mix
1 mug warm water
1 tsp salt

Mix and leave for 10 mins until bubbly. Add another mug of warm water and the salt. Mix well then stir in flour gradually until you have a firmish dough which is still a bit sticky. Leave to rise until doubled (this depends how warm the place where you leave it is).

Divide into tennis ball sized pieces and work into circles or squares. Garnish. Cook in v hot oven for around 8-15 minutes until lovely bubbly.

obviously very scientific! you can keep the dough clingfilmed in the fridge for 24 hours so you can make and be ready to go!

hackneyzoo · 23/02/2011 19:42

ta 120!

OP posts:
120 · 23/02/2011 19:44

whoops, should have said at first you just mix yeast, flour and water (no salt!) and leave that for 10 mins.

you can add sugar, you can add olive oil. I don't think you don't need either really.

120 · 23/02/2011 20:25

Whist on the subject of recipes.. can I recommend you all have a go at these lamingtons MJ I'm sure you already have during your trip!

120 · 23/02/2011 20:35

hz lets do lunch or eve drinks next week. with or without poxy kids.

120 · 23/02/2011 20:46

just seen I didn't put full amount of flour in either HZ sorry. half asleep, only had 4 hours last night, but prob more than you are getting! You need to add as much flour as it takes to get the right consistency..

GotArt · 23/02/2011 21:56

All this pizza talk and I'm essentially snowed in over here. I can't believe we woke up with snow! I jumped out of bed to pull the blinds for DD to see the train go by at 8.15 and there it was, a foot of snow! DH took the car to work but said the city is so quiet. We don't get it here... we've already started The Bloom Count; my parsley was coming up and mint poking through the dirt!

I've been all over mumsnet today. DD is still sick so either happy to play by herself with dolly's or watch tv. Kinda nice to have the break. Right now she is climbing on the chair and over the couch and around to do it all over again. Whatever keeps you happy. DH hates it, but I don't mind. It burns her out a little.

120 Love DD's sayings. Grin
