congratulations from the stripey household! so pleased birth went at least slightly to plan Smile we await pics and further details. lovely name, btw.

shocked that people are allowed to play music on the ward.

PatTheHammer · 21/01/2011 20:12

What a lush name, I teach two Hebe's and they are both such lovely girls. It fits really well with J and L too. Bet you are both so chuffed, have J and L seen her yet?

3 hours is great stuff too, but ouchy ouch at the size of her, hope it was her body rather than her head IYSWIMSmile!

Playing music on the ward is justShock!

I need it after 48hrs with the DC's whilst DH went on a mega-jolly in London. They have driven me mental!!!

missjackson · 21/01/2011 20:39

Yey! Congratulations HKZ! Lovely, lovely name. How long will you have to stay in? Glad you have nice private room away from the mentalists.

Oooh I'm so excited for you!

Ouch at size though - I am hoping mine is smaller than N at 8'7... I'm sure she'll just slide out pretty easily after the damage he caused....

Waves to everyone.. sorry for ongoing lack of proper catch up, it's just been manic.

tinksbabyis2 · 21/01/2011 21:03

Congrats again and pretty name
Bracken was 8lbs7!!

Teaandcakeplease · 21/01/2011 22:18

Lovely name. Ironically I thought the weight was perfect as Jacob was 9lbs 8oz. Seemed a lovely a weight for a girl to me Smile

treedelivery · 21/01/2011 23:04

Many congratulations HKZ. Lovely news.

hackneyzoo · 22/01/2011 05:05

She breastfed fed well at midnight and is off high dependency. Smile midwives and nurses here are being amazing. The lovely midwife who delivered Hebe came and found us when she came back on shift to check how things were.

WOw that's great news. Had to restrain myself from texting you this morning at 5.30 as woke up and wanted to know how you are getting on! Very glad she is off high dependency. Glad your midwife is looking after you! Great exitement here at the thought of new babies.

GotArt · 22/01/2011 16:27

HKZ {grin] Good to hear all is going well and you were able to get a private room away from shite music on phones. WTH. I would go mental. Beautiful name.

6 days till we move! Yeah!

treedelivery · 22/01/2011 19:19

Great news about her being out of the high dependancy, fab. Really pleased she is feeding well, what a lovely lovely name too.

Great news too, on all the house moves. Good luck packing GotArt.

Had a hard-ish day trying to celebrate the birthday, turn sout dd2 is scared of large Thomas Tank balloons and birthday candles. Cancelled her party as it was too much, and am grateful I did. She has been a goblin, it wasn't a good party day!

stripeywoollenhat · 22/01/2011 19:32

i think they're all too small for birthday parties, tree - c has only just recovered, really. on thursday when she got up (at about 10.30, having been awake 3-8am) and there was only dp and me in the house, she was clearly extremely relieved - "two mummies" followed by hugs... it was cute, but really, all the cake and attention was clearly doing her head in.

stripeywoollenhat · 22/01/2011 19:45

but happy birthday, as well! i hope she settled down and liked some of it for you

hackneyzoo · 22/01/2011 19:53

Poor Ds hasn't even had a whiff of a birthday. We will relaunch on Tuesday when mil gets here and do presents and a little tea...he won't notice it's 4 days late Grin
am typing from scbu. Hebe is now in a normal cot on the low dependancy ward. Her breathing is fine and she is bf well. All tubes and wires are out. She just has to stay in for obs and antibiotics until Tuesday. I have been discharged so am coming in for feedings, luckily we are only a few streets away from the hospital. So I am waiting for shift change to finish then I will feed and then go home and collaspe. Feeling Sad as she will have a top up tonight as I haven't been able to express enough and my milk isn't in x yet. Hopefully it will come tomorrow. Just makes me feel guilty.

Do you guys fancy a birth story? I haven't joined another an thread but feel like writing the story to mark the moment Smile it might not be for some time though! Right off for final feed!

Yes definitely to birth story! You are doing great. Don't beat yourself up about the top up. All will be well Smile.

treedelivery · 22/01/2011 20:07

Awww hkz. Are you tempted to come in for the feed?

Roll on Tuesday!! Soon be here Smile

Teaandcakeplease · 22/01/2011 20:17

Love to hear your birth story when you have time to post it Smile

Try not to feel guilty, your milk will be on before you know it.

stripeywoollenhat · 22/01/2011 20:19

tuesday not that distant, very glad she is now tube free Smile that bit before your milk comes in is a nightmare, as i recall, c spent it howling like a banshee... don't stress too much about it, it'll come in soon and everything will be fine

and yes to birth story, at your convenience Smile

Teaandcakeplease · 22/01/2011 20:19

In I meant.

Posting from phone Confused

treedelivery · 22/01/2011 20:20

Big yes to birth story Smile always love a birth story.

GotArt · 22/01/2011 20:34

Yes to birth story. Grin

We didn't do too bad with DD's birthday but that may be because it comes before Xmas. We have 3 weeks of down time before Xmas so no overloading. I'm also a bit lame in the Xmas decorating as I only want it up a week before and down New Years day. We also had her birthday at Tumblebums, renting the space and asked for no pressies; we, Mama Group, figured with the stream of birthday's from August to December, (DD's is the last before Xmas) that it would cost a lot so we do Twoonie ($2) parties and each of us does something different with the money. With DD's we bought a new coat for the Coats for Kids at the Single Parent Resource Centre.

GotArt · 22/01/2011 20:35

Where the heck is Moosemama?

PatTheHammer · 22/01/2011 20:40

Oooh, eh...............Someone mention birth story..........
Ready when you are HKZGrin. Great news that she is doing so well, as are you! Your milk will be in v.soon I reckon so don't feel bad.

Happy birthday to H, hope that B has had a lovely party too x

Stripey- C sounds so funny, she is totally all partied out bless herSmile

GOTART- Great news on themove, bet you can't wait!

DD has been to a party today and is hyper-crazy now after all the sugar. Still struggling to sleep bless her even though she is shattered! Just went up 10 mins ago and she croaked that she was still awake and did I know that in India they had Tuk-tuks!!!!!!!???? WTFGrin!

Nice day today, traipsed round farmers market this morning, had lunch dropped off DD at party and took DS to supermarket. All normal stuff but just very pleasant and laid-back after a crazy busy week. Toad-in-the-hole for dinner too which was yum!

My sisters 8 week scan was good, still a second sac there, which has grown but they are 90% sure its a singleton pregnancy. Heartbeat in the visible baby is strong and goodSmile
