It's humbling to look back at the last year and see how our LO's have gone from helpless newborns to action-packed pre-toddlers.

BRING IT ON!!!

dd2 has just taken an hour and a lot of cuddles to settle which is very unlike her. I think birthdays are too exciting (and she still has her real party to come!)

Bearcrumble · 03/02/2011 19:25

DS went to an xx gig in utero. He also 'saw' Lily Allen, The Pixies, Fleetwood Mac and Music Go Music. Not taken him to any festivals or anything since he's been on the outside though we're thinking of Camp Bestival, Sonar Kids and the Secret Garden Party this coming summer. DH needs to pull his finger out and request press tickets.

Had another massive poosplosion when I went to get DS up from morning nap. He's not eaten much bar about half a stage one pouch and a few of those organix carrot stix that look like giant wotsits. He's had quite a bit of boob though, so should be ok. And drunk water.

He was well enough to take for a walk round the park. We went to the little farm and saw the animals. The giant hairy pigs were very groinky and made a poor little toddler cry. Then we went straight to his music class. I couldn't relax because I kept thinking any minute his arse is going to disgrace us. Thankfully he waited until he was home.

I fell asleep myself feeding him to sleep so just going to eat my dinner (potato waffles with baked beans and cheese - classy) and go to bed.

PenguinArmy · 03/02/2011 19:38

DD went to lattitude in utero as well.

Thanks for the good wishes. She has been awake since 5am it is now nearly 12. We really enjoyed wriggly readers at the library, I miss going to all the baby classes, so it was extra special for me.

See you on the other side

InmaculadaConcepcion · 03/02/2011 19:47

Here's to a more relaxing night for you both, Bc! Sounds like he's doing the right thing by not eating too much. Starve the tummy bug out. I'm sure he'll make up for it when he's well again.

Ooh, BG, that sounds a wee bit stressful. I hope the rest of the night is more tranquil.

After last night's shenanigans, we had a peachy bedtime, thankfully - then DD woke up an hour later. She seems to have resettled with the simple expedient of me lying her back down and finding her bunny to snuggle up to, then putting a hand on her for a couple of minutes.

Tonight is the first time she's had "hands out" - she's always been in a Peke Moe sleeping sack previously, but has almost outgrown it, so I've switched her to a Gro-bag type thing. I'm wondering if the sensation of having cool hands will make any difference to her sleep or not. But figured last night was so cruddy, I might as well make the change tonight as I wasn't messing with a good thing (IYSWIM...!)

Here's hoping.

I hope the poorly babies have a better night - and indeed everyone.

G'night.

You've been busy today!

PA good luck with the trip

Grin at BG DD1 comment

Someone asked earlier about switching to milk bottle. DS had his 1st milk bottle tonight and took it as well as his formula one. But he has been used to milk for a few months with his morning cereals. I'll see how his tummy reacts to the change.

bc hopefully your DS will get better. At least he drinks milk and water which should give him the nutrients and keep him hydrated. Good luck for tonight.

bethy I don't know why you have a problem with FB pictures. My privacy settings are (I hope) that only my friends can see my pictures on my profile but as I post them in the group they can be seen. Are you reloading them for your computer onto FB?

schro (aka mama sorry I can remember your new name Blush ) i'm supporting France, DH is supporting Ireland (he was born there and lived there until late teens) so DS will be for both! Grin

DS big event was when he was in the final of the Heineken Rugby Cup in Edinbrugh back in 2009

SchrodingersCatFliesToOz · 04/02/2011 06:58

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SB's DS! ooops DD2 put the caps on. but I can shout that, ins't it?
Slept from 3 pm till 4 pm was really grumpy and fell back asleep on me till 6.30 pm, woke for an hour or so put to bed at 8 pm slept through 6 am. Confused DD1 used to do sleep marathons when she had a growth spurt but DD2 hadn't yet.
DH only snored only once so a good night. Grin
She is insane this morning though with all that sleep, hyperactive! I will brave going outside even if it says - 15 today Hmm

SB we are supporting Ireland 3rd, we met there and our witness at the wedding was Irish. Anybody support the Italians? I have never met anyone who does not even the half British/half Italians...
Sorry about the name Blush easier to remember if you have done quantum physics (or philosophy?), it is about a cat which should be dead and alive at the same time. So the cat bit is more important than the complicated german name.

Wow amazed at your gigs! DH is going to be Envy.
We just go to our local band stands with DD1. I am not a fan of music. DH thinks I don't hear music properly because I hear in mono and most of it is noise that way.

BC CS hope your DS DD are better now.

Bon voyage PA

Happy Birthday, Stonebaby's baby!!! Have a fab day x

SchrodingersCatFliesToOz · 04/02/2011 08:14

Forgot to say, I bought that and she actually let me brush her teeth with it. It might help some of you too. Wink She still refused to be brush with a normal brush but there is hope Smile

InmaculadaConcepcion · 04/02/2011 08:49

I think we've cracked teeth-brushing for the moment, Shro. DD quite likes chewing on her teething-type brush anyway, but now I've found some organic, no-dodgy-stuff-at-all mandarin-flavour toothpaste for babies, she seems to enjoy having a bit of a rootle round with the brush, then sucking the paste off... Grin

bethy, re your FB photo probs...
If you want, you can email your pix to me and I'll put them up for you...?
My email is kate dot salisbury at yahoo dot co dot uk

A much better night for DD, thankfully. After the quick resettle at 20.30, she only woke once at about 01.00 and went straight back in her cot after a 15-min feed. Where she stayed until waking up for the day at 06.00. She seems happy enough in her Gro-bag thingy (it's an IKEA version), except she doesn't 'alf FIDDLE when snuggled up in bed with me now her hands are free...!

Poor DH has got rotten tooth-ache at the moment and had the least sleep of any of us last night. He's got to last until Tues, which is when he goes to the dentist. Meanwhile, he was at the Pharmacy first thing to get some strong ibuprofen. He hates any sympathy too, so just mooches around looking grumpy. A teething husband. At least DD's teeth don't seem to be giving her any problems at the moment.

How are the poorly babies today?

Stangirl · 04/02/2011 09:00

Happy Birthday SB's DS!

BC how is your LO? I thought my DD was on the mend having slept most of yesterday, not throwing up and drinking formula and water but when I was getting her ready this morning she threw up her breakfast after formula, 2 bites of toast and a sliver of banana. Have had to miss all the settling in period at nursery - so I hope Monday goes ok.

Schro I love your new name - but I have always been a physics geek . There a brilliant book called "In Search of Schrodinger's Cat" that explains quantum physics in simple terms- have you read it?

I won't be joining you in the rugby viewing as I have banned it from my house. My wonderful and long-suffering DP used to quite like rugby (he even lived in Richmond) until I came along and banned all viewing or discussion in my company. Just one of my many, many quirks he has learnt to deal with.

ChestnutSoup · 04/02/2011 09:13

Happy Birthday BabyStoneBaby!

All good here. My DD wasn't one of the opnes who was poorly Schro but thanks for thinking of me!

DH is going to watch the rugby in a pub in London after work today. I'm just not into it (don't mind it, but get fed of the sport obsession that DH has) so I'm hopefully having some of my local mum chums round for wine and nibbles while the DDs are asleep.

Very admiring of all your interpid tales from pregnancy (and beyond). The most intrepid thing I have done is taken both DDs up to Canary Wharf to see DH for lunch. This involves a 15 minute walk to the station, a train, a tube and about a million people in business attire when we get there. I was a bit aghast at how busy it was!

Stangirl · 04/02/2011 10:01

The FB group has gone all strange for me. I can't find a link to it from my profile and if i click the link from a hotmail message then all i get is a list of members and no access to anything. Can anyone advise?

InmaculadaConcepcion · 04/02/2011 11:23

I don't have a link from my profile, Stan, but there's one on the left when I'm in "Home" mode....

OP posts:
BabyGiraffes · 04/02/2011 11:25

Happy Birthday SB's DS!!!

BabyGiraffes · 04/02/2011 11:29

CS my dd1 is 3 1/2 so not far off yours Smile

Stangirl · 04/02/2011 12:23

There's no link on the left in "home" - only one to create group

SconesForTea · 04/02/2011 13:50

I'm finding it hard to keep up with you people! I was trying to look at all the photos last night but I don't think I got to the end before dinner was burned ready.

Happy birthday BabyStoneBaby (with a nod to CS Wink). I don't think I've missed any birthdays... I need to save that list somewhere sensible.

No advice on the FB group, sorry SB. I'm one of the least technologically-minded people I know. If something doesn't work I ask DH or my brother Blush

Bon voyage PA!

CS I'm Envy of your mum chums round for wine and nibbles. I have yet to coax any of my mum friends out in the evening. Whereas I'm raring to go. DH can babysit. Am I odd?!

DH is out at a gig tonight and I'd like to do some baking. I'll probably end up drinking gin and watching telly, though Hmm

SchrodingersCatFliesToOz · 04/02/2011 14:32

It is the week end! No more trekking on ice by sub zero temperatures. Yoohoo! pass Wine around to celebrate Grin

Sorry stan I don't know is it possible you have unregistered yourself by mistake or logout of the group?
No I haven't read the book but I would like to. DH refuses to buy me a kindle, I did hint it would be good for my birthday... hoping he changes his mind (I will keep hinting). TBH I haven't read anything since DD2 is born Blush I didn't have the very long BF sessions I had with DD1 when I could read a book or 2.

CS slightly Envy too.

Have a nice night scone what ever you decide to do. Wink

Bearcrumble · 04/02/2011 15:14

Happy birthday Stonebaby 's DS.

DS still poorly. Two voms today so far. My tummy is feeling gippy now. It's horrible to see him miserable. Temp slightly elevated. Seems like we just got over one horrible sickness bout only to get another.

CS Have a lovely evening with your mum friends.

Likewise, Scones. No, you're not odd. I like to have an evening out now and again (about once a fortnight). Haven't actually been out with just mum friends in the evening though. It's usually either me and DH or my old friends who mostly don't have kids.

I will probably try to get an early night. We're watching the box set of the Sopranos and just started series 5 last night so might watch one more episode before I go to bed.

IC Sorry about your husband's tooth.

Stangirl You're still listed as a member and admin of the group, so I don't know what's up.

Stangirl · 04/02/2011 15:21

Have a lovely weekend everyone. So far all I'm doing is taking DD to the doctor's at 5pm but I'm sure things will look up. I may have some sloe gin tonight - my pregnancy favourite - everything else tastes shit (apart from cider but that's a summer drink).

Scones perhaps you could set a regular date for a group of mates and whoever can make it goes out? My friends have done this - we call it the First Fridays Drinking Club. There's about a dozen of us, some Mums, some not - and we gather monthly to get pissed and eat food in central London. We mostly bitch about men and fall over.

AbsB · 04/02/2011 15:26

You lot are so fast!
Happy birthday Stonebaby's baby! Grin
I went to see Blur at Hyde Park when I was 8 weeks pg and thought I was going to miscarry during Song 2! Amazing... We are going to Primavera in Barcelona in May but might have to get my ex-MIL to babysit... DP isn't keen on DD going to gigs yet, she'll have ample opportunity when she's older...

On the bf front, things are looking up as I've given DP hell all week about his attitude and he knows he's in the doghouse... So he is being super nice about it. Not really helped by DD shouting "boob" and lifting my top! Hmm

really enjoying everyone's pictures on FB and feeling really broody! Think I'm ovulating so in for a shag this evening... Can't remember, is that too late? You'd think I'd remember after spending nearly three years ttc.

BC, your pooplosion stories are very entertaining! Grin

AbsB · 04/02/2011 15:28

Ooh BC, sorry x-posted... Sorry you are not well...hope you have a good weekend.

IC, love the idea of your DH teething... Is he drooling?

BabyGiraffes · 04/02/2011 15:51

Talking of poo... dd2 just did a large one that looked surprisingly like the chocolate fudge cake she had yesterday Hmm. I don't think it agreed with her much so for her party tomorrow I will make something different.

BabyGiraffes · 04/02/2011 16:06

Schrodinger my dd2 has just joined yours in trying to eat soap..Grin

StoneBaby · 04/02/2011 18:31

Good luck ttc Abs

DS had a good birthday, he had a few presents (mostly books) and enjoyed 2 and 1/2 chocolate cupcakes. I've posted some pix on FB. Thanks for all the wishes Smile
