Lovely new thread, thanks IC.
Happy anniversary BG, cheers!
CS I'm really sorry about the bad nights. I go to bits when I don't get enough (6 hours min), it colours everything doesn't it? It makes my mood horrendous.
PA My DH doesn the night resettles too. He is much better at it than me. I expect partly because of the milk but he also seems to have this very calm, soothing technique - he puts one hand on DS's back and goes "hey, hey" in a very slow, deep voice and 9 times out of 10 he goes back to sleep instantly. He won't go back if it the 5am waking, I know at that point the only two options are boob or shouting.
SB I think IC's little girl is first to turn one.
LBH Are you out there? You've been a bit quiet. Hope all is ok.
I did go and get the eye checked out and it is fine. I apologised and the GP was very sweet and understanding. I needed to talk to her about DS's iron anyway. The plan is to finish the bottle of supplement we have and then leave it three months and then test again to see how he does unmedicated.
I am really pleased with how organised I have been today. DS got homecooked lunch and dinner (fishcake for lunch and I did a chicken stew with rice for all of us for supper). I made a rice pudding with vanilla and nutmeg that is cooking right now which I am going to divide into pots and freeze for him.
Uncoincidentally we had pretty good sleeping last night 6.30-5am with a couple of quick resettles and then he slept again from 6am to 7.45 (amazing!) and managed two 45 min naps today.
DH bought me a Kindle. I love it. So far I've bought a book about mindful parenting, Debo Devonshire's autobiography, the new one by William Gibson and got a few out of copyright ones for free. It is so good for reading whilst feeding because you can hold it in one hand while the other is under baby's head.
