no, not Greenwich! To be honest I was trying to google a similarly named place in Edinburgh but that is what came up! And phew absolutely!

Greenwich Market is lovely though, in a 'browse the overpriced tat and eat olives' kind of way.

BibiBelle · 24/01/2011 22:54

I may have to come purely for research [bwink]

Bibi

On holiday with Mum and Dad, DH, DD, DS, Dsis and SIL in Edinburgh in Feb

Planning what to do.

I came up with the genius idea to go on train trips as

a) I like trains
b) I like maps
c) DS likes trains
d) Dad likes trains
e) train trips in Scotland are very beautiful
f) I really like trains

Dad (who is more of a train genius than I) suggested

Edinburgh to Dundee as it goes over the forth bridge and the tay bridge, both of which are worth doing.

Mum suggested Oban as the route is beautiful and Oban is lovely

Soooo ...

We might be somewhere near your way ... unless the west highlands win

I hear that there is a little shop in a town on this line that is worth popping in to visit and buy some cakes!

Might not work out, but all very exciting if so.

BibiBelle · 24/01/2011 23:39

oh toooooooooooooo exciting [hurrah!]

but I'm torn between the West as that's where I gre up or the East as that's where I am now!!

Oban is lovely however Scotland isn't that big whichever you choose and I'm happy to travel with cakes/children etc [bsmile]

what a perfect thought before bed - dates for your visit asap though so I don't get involved in any stupid cakey baking or something like that [bwink]

BibiBelle · 24/01/2011 23:40

and if we arrange to meet on a certain date you never know, Crisp may well pop up out of nowhere lol

night all [bsmile]

It would be Saturday 19th or (more likely) Monday 21st. But don't rearrange cooking just yet - I probably shouldn't have said until things were definite but ... I've just had a look at the trains. It's not too far or too expensive from the look of it. Will start negotiating with the family ...

saltasaltasanta · 25/01/2011 00:05

and silk was it today for the doc with your DD. I hope that you can all find a way forwards a bit.

Hello ALBS

Would you like a cup of tea?

HippyHippopotamus · 25/01/2011 08:26

bibi didn't know you delivered children now as well Grin

hiya salta, your trip sounds exciting! your reasons for the train made me smile!

RedLentil · 25/01/2011 09:43

I just asked dd2 - 'Whose is that car?' about our postman's car which was parked outside our window. Apparently the answer is 'Someone not very good at zooming away.' Grin

BibiBelle · 25/01/2011 11:39

ROFL - Red she is utterly brilliant!

Hips, sorry to hear you're feeling rough. I feel like have been batered to withing inch of my life whereas all I did was share a single bed with L

Hello all Smile

Just been to playgroup with DS for the first time Blush He had a ball and I had a nice time too a there were a couple of mums I know a bit from school so had a chat, and the mum I really like has invited us back to theirs for a cuppa one day after school as her DD and mine really like each other too, so hurrah, I may be making a new friend Grin

hippy sorry to hear you are feeling rough Sad cbeebies is a v good idea; how do you think I managed a lovely nap at the weekend Wink One day I will manage to watch Toy Story 3 from start to finish...

BibiBelle · 25/01/2011 12:45

ooh lovely to have new friends [bsmile]

got the most hysterical letter from the Trust girl [bhmm][bgin]

OP posts:
FjorgynAndHotWater · 25/01/2011 13:03

Hysterical funny or hysterical crying???

BibiBelle · 25/01/2011 13:07

Apparently the Trust Secretary informed them I had written a lovely supportive letter resigning but that they all knew the real reason I was going was due to the reasons you all know about. The three local councillors voiced their opinions and agreed completely so the Chair said he would write and thank me etc. He was told not to bother as it was too little too late and they would need to discuss him & the poisoned witch stepping down from the cafe board of directors.

I am managing to maintain a mature and professional manner regards the whole thing

OP posts:
FjorgynAndHotWater · 25/01/2011 13:27

Grin so they will get their comeuppance at last, hurrah! Is it too late for them to give you the cafe job at massively inflated pay now, or are you too busy with your private orders and lovely shop?

FjorgynAndHotWater · 25/01/2011 13:32

Sorry, should have been a [bgrin] there in honour of Burns Night

BibiBelle · 25/01/2011 13:37

lol Hots they have a manager in place to start if when it opens but the opening keeps getting put back and put back. Was supposed to Oct, then Christmas then Jan and now it won't be till at least the end of Feb.

And none of the locals turned up for their volunteering open day either.

Nicely done Bibi [bgrin] HAve you got your haggis, tattie and neeps for tonight?

Just been to a new toddlers with DDs as the other one was very cliquey and after 6 months only one person spoke to me and that was out of sympathy for my Billy no mates act. Very firendly and I know some mums too which is great - DD1 said it was 'okay, I suppose but lots many babies for my liking!' Hmm there were only 3 babies and she ran about with new friends ignoring the babies anyway Hmm

Hippy - hope you manage a nap when the littlies do.

Hi Fjorny yay for new friends:)

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 25/01/2011 13:43

All this new friendmaking is very encouraging - I have been stressing a little about having no friends nearby when we move Blush Am planning a ruthless campaign of smiley toddler group attendance. Just hope they don't think I'm a cult member.

BibiBelle · 25/01/2011 13:45

EErr no [bblush] because it's minging but I did manage to get L in a pair of bright pink argyle patterned tights so that has to count for something no?!?!?

OP posts:
blueberryboybaitonSafari · 25/01/2011 13:46

I only asked because all the Scots I have on FB are on about having it all tonight. Never tried the stuff personally.

BibiBelle · 25/01/2011 13:47

Star how couldn't they all love you [bhmm] I didn't know anyone inthisgodforsakenplace here till E went to school and then I started meeting people. They probably thought we were either running a brothel or a couple of vampires coming and going at all hours - you would have thought the uniforms might have given it away [bgrin]

OP posts:
BibiBelle · 25/01/2011 13:48

I'll stick to irn bru like the classy chick I am [bgrin]

DD's GP appt went well this am, have got 2 different laxatives to start with. First one apparently tastes delicious so fingers crossed it works too! Kept her home yesterday as she was so upset but sent her in after GP. Will probably update you with far TMI on the lax results in the morning LOLGrin.
Have done sweet FA today, house is still a squalorous studenty pit, so much so that the new cartridges I bought for Crispy's former printer have actually disappeared somewhere beneath the waves of trash so I can't even print an invoice to get paid at the end of the month. Where is my self-motivation?Confused
