Evening all!

Snow, I know, May already! In a month they'll be 3, how weird is that?! That will also mean we've been in touch for over 3 years now Smile Did your delivery arrive? How annoying! I hate when you're stuck at home waiting for a package and then it doesn't arrive because they booked the incorrect Tuesday... yes IKEA I'm looking at you! Grin

Ninja, hope BIL is ok. How's your SIL? I keep thinking about her going through all this and pg Sad

Skillbo, hope the move went well and you're already enjoying your new home.

Zhen, fantastic to hear N's all dry day AND night!

Right, over here with lots of work. Today I worked from home and between M being full of cold and D being a velcro baby I was close to tearing my hair out Grin Not fun, not fun at all...

M's assessment went well. It was at a prospective school (private). We never got an acceptance letter from the only state one we liked, and that was for nursery, imagine for reception when the whole catchment system kicks in Grin It went well and she was accepted, yay. Can't help but cry a bit when thinking about fees though Grin

We've started looking into birthday party "venues". We found a place called "The Creation Station", which we liked a lot. They throw "artsy" parties and we think we'll go for that one. I sent an email yesterday enquiring but no reply from them. Not the best first impression Grin but will give them a ring tomorrow.

News from work, apparently this will be the other person's last month (as AGM is mid May and DH will put it fw etc). We'll see...

Waves!

June2009 · 04/05/2012 08:34

So much to catch up with, work/childcare/training balance hectic at the moment.
My trainer got back yesterday, tumor removed and it was benign so he's all clear, i am so relieved i can't put it into words. Ninja have you got news for your bil?
Gauchita i didnt receive your pm, you know it could be in my spam and i don't know how to access it, facebook pm please?

For C's nightime tt we did it almost at the aame time as daytime tt, i just forgot to put one on, she wakes up to go to the toilet at might. We had one accident once when we stayed at my friend's house. I think we're just really luck with her potty training in general.
Snow i did also wonder what it is you do, i think you mentionned it before I can't remember. Im still training 6 or 7 hours a week, eating very healthy, havent needed to weigh myself for just over a month (hard work mentally to detach myself from weightloss). More than ever thinking of taking some kind of fit ess course when C goes to pre school full time in september.

Gauchita good news about the school :) we re really hoping C gets in the state school up the road, this is why we moved here in the first place. Were in the catchment but it is very popular and not many places (and a block of flats near it where people rent a place just so they can put their kid in there.)

We're going out tonight with the peeps from the gym, can't wait to be going out. I'll have some o that G&t snow :)

Zhen hope you're settling i the new house :)

Take care juners x

snowwombat · 04/05/2012 17:39

cactus hour here but just a quick note that I have sent PMs. I hope they arrive. Very boring content so don't get too excited Grin

Gauchita · 05/05/2012 07:29

Morning all!

Snow, what's a cactus hour? I PMd you Smile

June, so glad to hear C's doing well with nighttime TT Smile M for the first time ever did a wee this morning and it was a loooong one (nappy dry) so hopefully it'll be the start of a trend Grin
Yeah, catchment is not an easy system. M would have been 5th I think, on the list anyway as first it'd have been children in care, then children w siblings, etc etc, distance I think, was 5th Grin Besides, it's not even a consistent or universal system, every single council around the country can have changes, madness... Hope you had fun last night! There was a MN local meet-up on Tuesday and I went with D for a couple of hours. It was nice Smile

Right, M's full of cold, D for the first time in 12 weeks has had two cough-free weeks, but I'm counting the minutes until he catches whatever M has Hmm

DH stressed at work and having a couple of episodes of "answering back" in a funny tone Hmm Talking time today I think.

Domestic question (and a daft one, bear with me), ladies, you know the fridge wheel with numbers (for the temp)? In which number it should be? I've noticed things are going off a bit too quickly and I wonder whether the temp is too high?

I tried sending my sister her bday present by post and I wasn't allowed Hmm It was a bracelet, so RM said they couldn't send jewellery to the country where she lives Hmm My only other option is fedex for the small sum of £65, for the shipping!!!

Lots of tidying up to do here, a friend of ours is coming over and staying on Monday and Tuesday with us. We have to sort guest room etc etc

I'm doing my first "professional" assignment (in my field) since going on ML next Tuesday. So happy and excited. It's only an hour and it's far away, but those are the dues you have to pay to get project managers to call you back afterwards Grin

Off to start the cleaning! Waves!

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 05/05/2012 14:29

afternoon all Smile

I have a very stressed dh, liverpool better win this afternoon!

gauchita, iirc a fridge should be between 3-5 degrees C so it depends if the dial refers to its own scale or to degrees C. Fridge thermometers are really cheap to pick up if you want to be sure though Grin How much!!!!!!! For a bracelet? School system is a nightmare, even for those of us that have been doing it for years, we live in a bit of a grey area where we can be in the catchment for some/all of three schools . . . or none. For dh remember it's one minute on the naughty step for each year of his age Grin Good luck your assignment, let us know how it goes Smile

june, good to hear your trainer is ok! Evening out look good Smile

snow, where did the time go, E will be 3 THIS MONTH!! I'll have some of that g&t if it's still going, well done on getting to the end of your project, sounds really interesting!

skillbo, how's the new house going, all settled in now?

zhen, must be a relief to be finally rid of builders!

you know we can just start a new thread if we want to Grin And we should really sort out another meet up, anyone got any ideas for a location?

bil still doesn't have a plan of treatment yet, he finally got the rest of his scan at the end of this week Angry so we'll have more of an idea next week hopefully, although they may want to biopsy first so that'll drag things out more. But it's looking like they think there are 2 tumors now and his white cell count is up so it's not great news so far. Sil is ok but so stressed out, she's just finished work so hopefully she'll get a chance for some rest as she's not long left now.

I'm quite worried about dd3, she's had a couple of nasty falls at school this week including cutting the side of her face Sad We're sort of hoping this is the result of a growth spurt rather than anything more serious affecting her stability. On the up side she had her first session of horse riding therapy with her school this week and had a ball. Little minx had been saying no every time we mentioned it at home but got stuck in when she saw her friends doing it. With a bit of luck it'll help with her stability issues.

E has made the accident book twice this week, not bad for a kid who only goes to preschool twice a week [sigh] But at least dd2 and ds1 are camping with the scouts this weekend so it may be a little quieter here, at least the amount of sighing will be reduced to almost nothing Grin

hope you all have a good weekend Smile

snowwombat · 05/05/2012 21:58

ninja I am Angry at your BIL having to wait so long for the scan. I am sure he and your SIL don;t have the time or energy to jump up and down at the speed of things but a call to PALS or their GP might help if anything is delayed further. They can't be hanging about in limbo. I really feel for you and them.
Poor DD3, I hope the poppet is ok. The falls are common with growth spurts, are her trousers looking short Grin toes sticking out of her shoes? Grin. I hope it is not any more serious than that. Is she ok otherwise? I'm sorry that I can't remember, does she have seizures? So pleased about the horse riding, I think it is brilliant for the kids and there is no doubt it does fabulous things for core stability. Did anyone read M elanie Reed's column in the times mag today- she does RDA and went on a mechanical horse and then experienced days of delayed muscle soreness in her abdominals- a great sign that those muscles were being worked after not being used for some time.

june so pleased your trainer ok. How was your night out? Slimline G+T? Glass of wine in hand here, trying to do some invoices and shamefully watching BGT Blush

gauchita Cactus hour- that wonderful period usually between 5-7pm when the kids (and me) are a bit prickly and chaos ensues Grin coincides with dinner/bed/bath each night.

skillbo are you surrounded by packing boxes? how is the new place?

Best try and get some more work done while kids sleeping. Both of them full of cold and night or early morning (430am) waking this week. Urrgh.

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 06/05/2012 07:59

thanks snow Smile I really can't tell, just hoping someone takes a look at dd3 soon and says wow she's grown Grin she better not have grown out of her boots yet after the 6 month wait we had to get them! We're back with the orthotist in a couple of weeks, it could be her piedros aren't supportive enough as they went for a much cheaper different stlye this time round [sigh] RDA is brilliant therapy, I've heard so many good things, just hoping it does the same for dd3, her core stability is pretty poor and she's a lot of sensory issues too so hopefully a win all round. Dd3 is high risk for seizures but so far only a handful of dodgy maybe maybe not episodes! Bil isn't the sort to complain, if they keep delaying though I shall be suggesting PALS!

I've been watching the voice and keep forgetting to turn over for BGT, I love the audition stages, a guaranteed laugh for me that part Grin Will I Am is making me laugh on that, him and Tom Jones with their name dropping competitions!

E was up at 5 this morning but I am so glad it's not me camping this weekend Grin waves to all Smile

such lovely weather for a bank holiday [sigh]

June2009 · 07/05/2012 19:56

It rained just when we went out to the mayday fete ... Such a shame.

Gauchita · 07/05/2012 22:44

Hi ladies!

It's been the longest bank holiday ever! Grin apologies for the quick and non-personal post but I'm on my phone so can't scroll back to see posts.

We went to work (no bh in the business Grin), then I escaped with the DC to a friend's house for a cup of tea and some play for the children, then back to work to meet the friend who's staying with is today and tomorrow. Phew! Tiring already huh? We had dinner together and then came home to put DC to bed and have a chat before bed (I'm currently with D who woke for a feed Grin)

M's PT is going quite well.

Tomorrow early start for my assignment. Quite excited actually, my first in my 'proper' field since D's birth Smile

Hope everyone's well.

Ninja, really hope your BIL gets the attention and care he needs soon.
How's DD3 now? Is her face ok?

Back tomorrow, waves to all!

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 08/05/2012 07:49

good luck for today gauchita Smile

Gauchita · 08/05/2012 14:34

Thanks Ninja. Saw the pics of the DC back from camping. WOW @ all that mud! Grin I bet they had a great time, right?

Assignment went really well. I felt such an adrenaline rush, it felt great Smile

Back later!

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 08/05/2012 14:45

it can't keep raining till the end of may surely!! Your version of camping sounds much more civilised anyway, I should hope they've got good drainage Grin The kids had a great time, they were even offered the oportunity to come home on sunday and the whole group refused and stayed until yesterday afternoon. Being scouts they had so much organised I don't think they had much of a chance to think about being wet. I'm not looking forward to getting all their kit washed [argh] Good to hear the assignment went well Smile

Skillbo · 08/05/2012 23:11

Evening ladies - apologies for being a but quiet but its been all go with the house BUT - we're in and its fab! Don't know what to do with all the extra space but I'm sure we'll fill it in no time. Still got quite a bit of stuff at the old place and no news on replacement tenants either Sad but hey ho, worth it!

ninja - i had such a blast at brownies but hated guides and wish scouts had been own to girls back then - your 2 looked like they had a great time! Kind of nice (?) to hear E is as accident prone as J although hope it's nothing serious! am also loving the.voice but the timing is always over bath time so miss big chunks... Boo! Hope bil doing better and second (or third) involving pals if.needs be!

gauchita - glad work was so much fun for you... Am dreading going back but still a couple of months away, thank goodness! Hope M's potty training still going well... We have dry nappies most mornings so perhaps should just try her as she does wake up asking for it. June - does c have a potty in her room or does she go to the look? Ours is.now downstairs and don't like the idea of j trekking down them at night!

snow - love cactus hour Grin

Agree with everyone that it's Shock that our babies are 3! With the.move, have come across lots of baby photos and makes me realise how much j has grown! Not sure of birthday plans - may just be friends and games at our place now we have room... Agree with gauchita though - it's nice to think we've all been chatting this long Smile

Think o will be up in a minute - am under the covers again and he keeps making grunting noises so will love you and leave you ...

snowwombat · 09/05/2012 17:50

sorry to be absent. Sick kids, lots of work this week and getting DH ready for an interview. We are waiting for the phone call. This is horrible. He did not feel he gave a good interview at all, so no confidence in getting the job. Shit. Better go bathe the kids, will help pass the time. They are supposed to let them know today.
sorry for me me me post

Gauchita · 09/05/2012 17:53

Oh snow, thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed for him.

Back later!
