Zoe has safely arrived late nast night, she is beautiful. Hospital was v busy so things did'nt get underway till wed lunchtime. Less than an hour from waters being broken to delivery!A little intense.

We home tonight, A loves her and hasn't tried to poke her eyes out yet.

Be back soon. Thanks for all the lovely messages of support. Tea and hot buttered toast was the best tasting thing after the birth Xmas Grin. Hot too!

bigcar · 16/12/2010 21:27

morning all Xmas Smile

strawberry, no snow here, it snowed for a while last night but it didn't last or settle [yay] it's just -2 this morning Xmas Hmm lovely! At least you don't have to worry about getting to work, sorry to hear they've paid you off though. Have you started packing for your move yet?

snow, hope you've had a good night home with Z and A takes a liking for his new sister Xmas Smile

weyhey, last day of school run today! Just the pick up to do and then no more school run for a couple of weeks. Dh is off down the church soon to watch the carol service that ds1 is doing, I'm staying home with E, in the warm, it's freezing in that church. And they don't let you take buggies in either. E will be over the moon having all the other dcs home during the day.

eventually heard from panel about dd3s school move, after an awful lot of chasing I found out they have deferred until Jan arghhhhhh. Not a happy bunny, still haven't found out why Xmas Angry

waves to all Xmas Smile

Hi all!

June, happy birthday!!! Lots of blessings and happiness for you, lady Xmas Smile

Sam, sorry to hear about work Xmas Sad We've had no snow today, we did yesterday but it didn't settle, fortunately. Poor your DH having to walk to work! Will there be any buses by the time he has to come back? Fingers crossed.

Snow, hope you're all doing great at home.

Bigcar, woo hoo! No more school run after today! Xmas Smile How odd they don't let you go in the church with a buggy! Do they expect mothers to hold their DC throughout services? Xmas Confused or let them run amok even? Xmas Grin I think you did right staying at home warm and cosy with E Xmas Smile

Right, off to start thinking about lunch It's really cold here, we woke up with -6 brrrr... I should go to the supermarket but the cold is putting me off Xmas Grin

Back later, waves!

GauchitaBell · 17/12/2010 10:53

Oh, forgot!

Bigcar, so annoying for you re. the panel decision! Grrrr hope you get some answers as to why it was postponed. Angry for you.

bigcar · 17/12/2010 11:24

gauchita, it may well be different when it's one of their own services but for the school one it's no buggies so yes, lots of los running amok! It's just started snowing here and is settling for now so we shall see what happens later.

june, happy birthday Xmas Smile hope you have a lovely day and enjoy your sushi Xmas Smile

strawberry, going by my exacting standards Xmas Hmm that's definitely an excellent start Xmas Grin Glad your dh made it home ok!

would you believe, the school run was an absolute nightmare. It came over really dark and snowed really heavily after a light start that didn't settle, so went out with headlights on and wipers going, very icey slippy roads, car sliding all over the place on the way home, was awful. Now, now the bloody sun is out and the roads have almost cleared again Xmas Biscuit

We put C on the horse and she stayed for a minute and didn't cry so there is hope.
I think we're going to keep it (in the "spare" room where it's still going to be in the fucking way .

bigcar I used to do the school run when I was an au-pair

Thanks for the birthday wishes, I've been running around like a headless chicken trying to get the house ready for my friends staying over tomorrow.
C was surprisingly cooperative staying out of the way, well, kind of...

It snowed in north london this morning and for a moment we thought we might not be able to get sushi at all but the main roads are clear so we're going still :)

I'd better go finish the housework now.

Take care and have a lovely weekend (strictly final anyone?)

bigcar · 17/12/2010 17:51

oooh yes, will be watching strictly. Can't decide who my favourite is though this year.

enjoy your sushi and the rest of your birthday Xmas Smile

Had a fab day yesterday and lovely sushi in the evening Grin dh got me some lovely flowers and we watched a film in bed on the new ipad, was lovely!
I got stupidly upset (after a couple of glasses in my defence) that none of the inlaws actually remembered my bday, then sil saved the day and sent a text at 11pm.

bigcar I think my fave is Kara (spl)

ooh, baby's up!

bigcar · 18/12/2010 12:00

june, sounds wonderful but sorry to hear the ils forgot, at least they didn't all turn up on the doorstep demanding to see the rocking horse in pride of place in your sitting room Xmas Wink

I like Kara too but I also like Pamela and Matt as well, just can't make my mind up at all!

Anyone else snowed in?
The snow fell "thick and fast" (they kept using this term on the radio!) this morning and there was no grit. We managed to get out to do a bit of shopping before it got too bad to drive but my mates who were going to stay over for my bday didn't make it.
We have a LOT of cake for just the three of us!!!

We tried to go to another local friend's 1yo lunchtime party on foot but it was too cold for C and she started crying and complaining about her hands so we turned back.

There is something very charming about falling snow in the garden, isn't there.
Who built a snowman? :D I'll have to post a pic somehow, ours is great Grin.

Hope you're also enjoying strictly, I like Kara and Artem's love story :D

AllSheepareWhite · 18/12/2010 21:42

Well done Snow! - glad to hear Z and all the family are doing well. A lovely name, lots of cuddles from me and N.

Have only just caught up with the wonderful news as we have all had horrible flu with vomiting and diarrhoea thrown in.

June - happy birthday, wouldn't worry about inlaws forgetting birthday, I asked DH today what date mine was and he got it wrong! In his defence he was only one day out does have a very large family (24 brothers and sisters and counting) with lots of birthdays in the same month as mine.

Bigcar- very frustrating about DD3's school move. Glad you got home safe from the last day of term school run.

Strawberry - Sounds like exactly what we did when we moved 8 months ago. Keep the horse, N has a rocking horse that she can only get on if we help her up. She saw her favourite characters from the Backyardigans riding a horse as knights in one episode and now loves getting on the horse saying 'knight' :o

Hey to every one else, hope all are well.

Strawberry - cabin fever must be setting in can you get out on foot locally? Travel is all over the place at the moment. We are meant to be travelling to Dorset tomorrow to see my mum dependent on a) trains and b) whether my mum has managed to get a flight back from Inverness to Bristol today and then drive back to Dorset. Exactly this time last year she got stuck in Scotland for several weeks as the airport closed due to snow. Heaven knows why she decided to risk it again. Yes, DH has 24 siblings, mainly through his Dad (4 siblings are his mum's), who is still producing to DH's shame, he finds it embarrassing that his little sister is about the same age as N. I don't even want to get onto cousins etc...

Hi all!

Strawbs, nooooo poor you! It snowed over here but not as much as a few weeks ago so things are pretty much OK. Hope it stops soon!! so that you can travel this week and have a family Christmas celebration Xmas Smile Have L's nightmares gone away now?

Allsheep, wow, 24! No wonder he has problems remembering dates Xmas Grin Are you girls feeling better? It's really going round and round here. M and I got better but we're all snotty again Hope you're enjoying your time at home Xmas Smile

Snow, hope you're all warm and cosy at home Xmas Smile

June, glad to hear you had a lovely birthday celebration with DH and C. You guys got a lot of snow as well this weekend, right? Some friends were going down south and had to cancel with all the disruption going on. Hope you enjoyed the cake Xmas Smile Yum!

Bigcar, oh, I see, it's a rule for school services only, which is a bit odd given lots of little ones are expected to be present Xmas Grin The pic of DD3 is so cute, she looked lovely. Glad she had a nice time Xmas Smile Were you also snowed in this weekend? Hope not too much.

Nice weekend. DH spent home half Friday and all Sat and Sun, which hadn't happened for the past 3 months Xmas Shock He's also a bit poorly now; he has a dry tickly cough that has been keeping him up the past couple of nights. Off to the doc's today.

I've finished all Christmas shopping now. I only have to wait for things to arrive now Xmas Grin LOL. We'll see if things arrive on time!

How are you all getting ready for Christmas? Lots of carols here all day, M loves them.

Uh-oh, she's taken out all the socks from the airer, I'd better go.

Hope you have a nice beginning of the week!

Waves

snowwombat · 21/12/2010 08:30

well, you couldn't have a better excuse than this weather to cuddle a newborn inside all day!

Thankfully, we are not completely snowed in, making it out for short bursts (and two trips to the hospital yesterday). A is at nursery this morning, DH has taken him, and Z and I are pottering around the house.

strawberry how is cabin fever at your place?
gauchita how are you and M feeling? Thanks for all the tea and toast!
allsheep have you been able to go to Dorset? Hope your house of sickness is on the mend. Sounds horrific.
bigcar very annoyed on your behalf about the panel. Why can they never make these things easy or transparent? How are all the christmas preparations at your place? Kids getting excited?
june OMG, the rocking horse! Not very subtle is it Xmas Grin Birthday celebrations sound lovely.
mrsmc how is X settling into nursery?

We have narrowly missed a readmission for jaundice. Z is v chilled, perhaps a little too laid back about feeding! Poking and prodding her to try and encourage some more feeds, but I fear we may be seeing the early signs of a determined personality- she feeds well when she wants to Xmas Grin.

Right, speaking of which, better go and see if she will have a feed. Thanks for all the lovely messages, just feel so blessed to have this precious little girl.

bigcar · 21/12/2010 17:23

evening all Xmas Smile

snow, hope all's well and the hospital trips were ok. Give Z and A a hug from us Xmas Smile

allsheep, that's one big family! Don't know about dates, but I struggle with names with just my lot, I've been known to point and say, you, it's dreadful Xmas Blush

june, no snowmen this time here, just neat piles to clear the drive Xmas Grin just a little snowed in over the weekend, roads are mainly clear again now.

gauchitabell, hope you're all feeling better, how lovely to have dh home Xmas Smile even though mine is driving me nuts and I'm getting nothing done

strawberry, hope the snow's cleared round your way, it's not too bad here now, have you managed to get out yet? Enjoy your trip to your parents Xmas Smile

well, the dcs are all nicely hyped now with christmas just round the corner! This time next week it'll all be over Xmas Wink Xmas Grin Dd1 will be spending christmas with us, wasn't sure if she'd be with her boyfriend so the los will be happy. She's off to winter wonderland tomorrow, hope it's not too cold then! Upset a good friend this morning, she lives overseas and is flying back for the hols tomorrow, I told her it was -2 here yesterday, she said something unrepeatable Xmas Wink well at least she knows to bring her big jumpers!

waves to all Xmas Smile
