just checking in. What weather. Massive hail storm here and now a gorgeous sunset.
I am shattered with this current project, it finished at the end of the month, but there is sooo much to get done and I realised today I had forgotten to do something fairly substantial, puttin myself behind an already tight schedule. Thank goodness a dear friend from Oz is arriving shortly and will be our nanny for the next 2 weeks.

Hope you are all ok juners. gauchita I am a wuss. Given the crazy workload this week, I am delaying TT A once again.
skillbo you will LOVE being in a bigger space. Moving into this house was amazing after 4 of us in our 2 bed flat!

june good news about your trainer. Hope his post-op period is smooth and there is more good news soon
ninja positive thoughts here for your BIL. Hope he got his scan

Gauchita · 22/04/2012 20:40

Evening all!

June, PT is still in our thoughts, hope everything is going well.

Skillbo, oh how worrying for you ((h)) how's your mum now? Are they still visiting you atm then? It must be a bit of a relief to have them with you. Hope she's feeling better.

Snow, how's the second round of TT going? Friday was great here, 0 accidents, yesterday there were two and today only 1. She's mostly doing quite well, I think. I've stopped putting so much pressure on her with the frequent asking now Blush as I realised she was getting quite frustrated with it. It's as if she was thinking "I've just said "no" why don't they believe me" Grin She gave us a few Confused faces so we decided to let her be. So hard, though Grin but she's getting the hang of it. How's work coming up for you in the next few weeks? Any news on DH's work front?

Ninja, moving them too often is exactly what we want to try and avoid re. schools. If she happened to go to the state one we liked (but shockingly over-subscribed, etc) it'd be for this year only (from Sep) and then the chances of her getting there for reception are quite poor. I'd hate to make her change environment/friends, etc two years in a row. We'll see how this week goes with going out and about, as this past week I stayed at home except for when I had to go to work and she to nursery Grin I can say, though, that as much as I was bl**dy dreading it, I'm glad we took the plunge. She'll perfect it with time, but at least we're on our way now Smile

Yesterday we had a workshop with the BF peer support group and I received my certificate Smile I'm officially a peer supporter! I've learnt so much throughout the course and I'm so happy to be able to offer some help and support to other mothers.

Anyway, hope you had a nice weekend. It was awfully rainy up here and apparently it'll continue to be all this week, boo hoo.

June2009 · 23/04/2012 07:14

gauchita congratulations on being a peer, that's so great, these women will be lucky to have you as a peer :)
skillbo how worrying for your mum, i hope she's ok (hugs).
My trainer is still in hospital waiting for lab results. I have 'spoken' to him (messaging) a few times and he keeps telling me not to worry. I don't think I sound too worried I try not to and just talk about training and ask questions to try and keep his mind off the whole thing. Fingers crossed he'll have the results early this week and he's fine and can come back.
Right, C needs me gotta go waves to everyone

Gauchita · 24/04/2012 19:49

Evening all,

It's quiet here.

June, hope things are ok with your PT.

D has caught a gastro bug again, poor little man. We were in hospital last night Sad I called NHS direct after we found a bit of blood in his nappy and they told us to take him to A&E. They observed him for a few hours and then let us go home. Not much sleep last night, though, we got home at 1am

M's doing quite well with potty training. One accident today, one yesterday, not too bad... she seems to be on the right track

On a lighter note, we've booked a short holiday/break at the end of May. We're going to a farm (one of those Feather Down Farms). DH is really looking forward to it as he can already picture M's face with all the animals, etc Grin I like the idea with the exception of the bath being outside (toilet in big tent, though, at least!). We'll see. I'm not exactly the outdoorsy/bug-lover type Smile

On a not so light note, I have a mini rant that I wrote here the other day but then didn't post it as I'm to scared the person would happen to be on MN and recognise it Grin It's a mini rant from work. I might PM you to share vent Wink

Right, off to do some work and then study a bit.

Gauchita · 24/04/2012 20:02

Gah, sucked in here in MN Grin reading a bit wasting time!

June2009 · 25/04/2012 20:09

Pm away :) gauchita am waiting :)

Gauchita · 25/04/2012 20:43

Oh good, permission granted then! Grin

Gauchita · 25/04/2012 20:55

PM sent!

June2009 · 27/04/2012 01:28

I didnt get it?

Gauchita · 27/04/2012 07:51

June, how odd! I went to check the sent messages and your name was there Confused I've just sent it again.

Skillbo · 27/04/2012 21:28

Oooh Gauchita - wil check my messages as sounds juicy! So lovely to be getting some time away for you all and a farm sounds great! I haven't heard about those kind of breaks before but do sound so much fun but them I am an outdoorsy type so my kind of thing. You never know, it could turn you - I love camping, it's cheap, you can do it almost anywhere, close to nature, kids see it as an adventure, what's not to love!! Sorry to hear D has been unwell - so worrying. Sounds nasty though so best to have got it checked out.. poor little soul! Go M with the potty training.. I think we've cracked it as J hasn't had an accident with her wee for a couple of weeks now and she hasn't done a poo in her pants for a week. I know it could all change but she seems to know her cues now so that's a big step forward! We have eight weeks of sticker charts plastered over the bathroom though Smile

June - any more news on your PT? I hope his tests have come back ok and he's planning on being able to come back to the UK soon...

My mum is back with us now (staying with MIL) but was in hospital for 6 days which was very worrying. She had a bad infection which basically shut her lungs down and because she is such a heavy smoker, meant she couldn't get oxygen into her blood... she had such a bad scare that she's stopped smoking cold turkey which is great news as have always been scared it'll be the death of her so good comes out of bad and all that...!

Feel for my MIL now though as they are back and staying with her longer than expected and my parents are hard work! Also, not helped by the fact my dad managed to delete three years of photo's from MIL's laptop yesterday! She is just so lovely and photo's of her boys and Jazzy etc are her pride and joy so feel absolutely awful...

Snow - hope you've managed to finish off your project (being a proper nosy parker but what is it you do?). There is nothing worse than that feeling of 'oh no' so am hoping you are currently celebrating with a nice fat Wine You're right about the bigger place, just wished our old landlords would play ball... they'r enow saying we are in arrears when we're not and it relates to a fixed radiator in 2009! FFS, isn't that what we pay exorbitant rent for them to fix! Am tempted to just pay them off but it's the principle of the whole thing - although we're supposed to be moving on Tuesday and don't want to lose that so we'll see.. am so Angry though!

Right - best get packing although we're in dire need of boxes. We have lots of bags though so should pull my finger out! Have great weekends all - I'm seeing my best friend tomorrow who I haven't seen since before O was born so am very excited!!

Gauchita · 27/04/2012 21:33

Evening all!

June, let me know if you got it. If you didn't I'll PM you on FB Wink
Zhen, how are things? Hope the redecoration/building work has finished by now and you're able now to enjoy your home!
Skillbo, any news on the house-hunting front?
Ninja, hi! How's E now that he went back to nursery? More than happy I guess, right? Grin
Snow, hope work's not too bad. Any plans for the weekend?

Apologies in advance for the "male-genitalia" related post Grin

DH went to the docs yesterday. He's looking into having a vasectomy. He's a bit scared aren't all men scared of pain Grin after a friend of his said, and I quote, "it hurts badly, mate, don't even think of doing this" Hmm Grin It was a bit funny hilarious to see our doctor have little sympathy for him when he said he was hesitant because of the pain post-surgery ha ha ha. She told him "well, it's minor surgery but yes, there might be some pain after it" Grin

And, about 3 weeks ago, D discovered his willy. I know nothing about baby boys, of course, but sounds a bit early to me Grin It happened when I started bathing both M and D together, and apparently the sitting postion made it quite accessible Grin The joys of boys, huh!? DH winces all the time as D seems to pull his little testicles in a way that looks quite harsh, but he doesn't complain so I guess it doesn't hurt him. DH almost fainted the first time he saw him Grin He kept saying "if I did that, I'd be crying with pain"

No plans for the weekend atm, I guess it'll be a quiet one.

Waves!

Skillbo · 27/04/2012 21:33

Just read your PM Gauchita - I hate it when you see someone just winging along and taking the right royal piss, especially when you could easily do what they do! Grrr - am angry on your behalf actually!

Sounds like a great job - I know you want to drop it but sounds like something you'd be really good at. Couldn't DH just pass across your presentation to the person who decides these things rather than put in a word?

Good luck keeping your mouth shut though - not sure I could do it Smile

Skillbo · 27/04/2012 21:41

(In an effort to hit that magic 1,000 posts) Had to have a giggle about your D and his willy Grin We haven't had anything like this with O yet - but kind of can't wait, iykwim!

I remember way back when I used to babysit this little boy and his sister regularly and he came up to me when he was about 2/3 playing with his willy. He said "When I do this" and feverishly stroked it "My willy stands up" and lo and behold, it did. Makes me laugh now but at the time (and being only about 15!) I was totally Shock

Good luck for your DH's op though - am guessing that means no more lo's for you guys? O is growing up so quickly I will admit to being broody today - until he's sleeping better it's a no but I can't say the thought of another one doesn't make me happy! Time is ticking though and I'm not getting any younger and two is a handful so we'll see (and it will NOT be for some time yet, if ever!) Once again, kudos Ninja, you're amazing!

Gauchita · 27/04/2012 21:44

Cross-posts with you Skillbo!

Wow! Moving on Tuesday! Congratulations on finding what you were looking for. I got all confused there and thought you were still looking, apologies! Oh, your landlord is being so unreasonable. WTAF? Wasn't he/she supposed to be responsible for any repairs in the flat? How could you be in arrears? Is there any way you could resolve this without having to pay them for something that was not your responsibility? How incredibly frustrating for you. Hope you can get it sorted.

Re. work, DH is the one taking those decisions Hmm but he thinks that as I'm his wife there could be a conflict of whatever so he wants to run it by the big guys.

Anyway, thanks to something Ninja mentioned Grin on a PM I had to break my silence and let it rip! ha ha ha But apparently it worked, it was the final straw. Fingers crossed for it to be "transferred" soon (not meaning to be cryptic, just don't want to say too much "openly" Smile).

Gauchita · 27/04/2012 22:08

Yeah, let's get to those 1000 soon Grin

Cross-posting again, sorry. Well, DH's just been referred so God knows when he'll have the actual appointment and then the surgery. It could be months, I guess.

Oh my, I can imagine your face at 15 Grin I really didn't know this started this young, naive me, yes...

Gauchita · 29/04/2012 22:20

Evening all!

We're watching a documentary with Ewan McGregor in Africa about vaccinations. The amount of corruption in countries like the DRC is just unbelievable Sad

Killing a bit of time here on MN as well while the henna does its job Grin

Tomorrow morning M has an "informal assessment" at a school. I won't lie, ladies, I'm bricking it! Grin It'll only be her and the HMistress while we wait. Argh, I don't know why I'm so nervous, they want to assess her development and behaviour etc so she should be ok?

Right, 40 more mins

June, hope you got the PM this time? Let me know.

ZhenThereWereTwo · 30/04/2012 17:18

Hello everyone,

Wow have missed so much!

Big Grin and congratulations to the potty trainers, it is not easy. Big N is out of nappies altogether and although she gets put on the potty at night she still has the odd night-time accident. Next step using the toilet= no more cleaning pooey potties!

Gauchita Sorry to hear about D, so worrying but sounds like he is in fine form now that he has found his willy Grin Out of the loop and don't know the details, so hope the work situation works itself out soon.

Skillbo good luck with the packing and move, shame about MIL's photos if they were not in recycle bin they may not have actually been deleted just moved by accident into another folder. If you do a search for a keyword in one of the file names they might turn up (between big N and the kitten this is a regular occurrence in our home).

Ninja how are you and the family getting on?

Snow hope you are managing to get some down time to spend with your friend as well as working.

June how is your personal trainer? Luckily Poland has well-trained doctors, my Polish GP is excellent.

Well our decorating is finished and we are enjoying not having the builders in our flat. Little N slept for a 5 hour stretch last night (long may it continue). I have been taking big N out lots to playgroups.

Big N has just made me laugh, she said (in response to comment that she was tired just after she had asked for an ice lolly) 'yes my eyes are tired, but my mouth isn't'!

Gauchita · 30/04/2012 19:29

Quick post!
Zhen, argh, I don't know why you didn't get it, I've just re-sent it.

Back later

snowwombat · 30/04/2012 19:29

Hi girls, I've just finished my project, one day ahead of schedule. What a relief. Off to make large g+t, can I get anyone a drink? They are happy with what I have ddone and offered a few more days work. Hurrah!
zhen great to see you.glad the n's are well. You must be getting desperate to have your flat workman free
gauchita well done to DH for his 'bravery' Grin. Go M and her tt
ninja you ok?
skillbo did you sort out the landlord?all sounds a bit dodgy
june how's your trainer?

G+t calling. Now going to have some time to show my friend our lovely countryside, weather permitting

Oh and DH has a job interview next week.

Skillbo · 30/04/2012 21:37

Evening, evening!

Snow - Well done, I will join you for a big fat drink.. I will have a Cosmopolitan, if you've got it! Better not go too overboard as tomorrow is MOVING DAY - it's been so long coming and cannot wait. We don't have new tenants in our place yet so have kind of got 2 places for a while so whilst we've packed the essentials, it's going to be a while until we've got everything moved. We really need to find someone though as rent on two places is just not feasible for too long Sad Didn't want to lose the new place though so have just gone for it - just hope we don't live to regret it! Didn't sort out the arrears issue but thankfully, as it's not rent arrears, the new landlords are happy to let us move as planned - phew! That is fantastic news about your DHs interview though.. is this still local so you won't need to up sticks?

Zhen - am impressed with N basically being dry at night! We haven't been brave enough yet and with the move might leave it a bit longer but I guess we're going to have to take the plunge soon! Did you wait until your nappy/pull ups were pretty much dry in the morning or did you just go for it? Big N is a clever little thing, isn't she Smile Reminds me of J a little, not the being clever bit but the talking - all she does is talk and DH says she basically 'looks with her mouth' Grin Thanks for the computer tip as well but as my dad basically reset her computer to factory settings, not sure they'll be there - I think she has an IT guy at work who is going to look for her... fingers crossed!

Gauchita - How did M's assessment go? We get little updates every now and then and obviously at the end of days, but never something so formal! All our lo's seem still so small but I guess they really aren't, are they!

Hope all other Juners are fab - seems quite quiet here at the mo but as I go awol for months at a time, can totally understand!

Right - have had a whole can of beer (so perhaps I better skip that Cosmopolitan!) so am off to have a look at AIBU and get my judgey pants on! Have a lovely rest of the week... Oooooooh - next time I post, I'll be in my new house - HOORAH Grin

ZhenThereWereTwo · 01/05/2012 01:09

Well done snow! Good news about your DH's interview too.

Fill me up please Grin.

I know I should really go to bed and not drink G&T as breastfeeding, but hey can't a girl live a little?

Good luck today skillbo, you are brave drinking a whole beer the night before your move!

snowwombat · 03/05/2012 16:59

Hope everyone enjoyed their drink.
ninja have the 5hr sleep stretches continued? I used to have an occasional weak G+T immediately after the evening feed so I knew I would have a few hours for it to dilute between feeds Smile. You must be SO pleased to have the decoratin finished and the builders out
gauchita any progress on the work issue. Have you remained quiet on the subject? How did M's assessment go?
ninja you ok?any BIL/SIL news?
skillbo I hope you survived moving day. Did someone mind the kids?

I am supposed to be working and we have stayed in all day waiting for a bloody delivery. 5pm, still no sign but it is on a truck somewhere Confused

snowwombat · 03/05/2012 17:00

oh and june how are you doing? Any news on your trainer? How is your training going? Are you running?

snowwombat · 03/05/2012 17:01

and it is MAY, oh my, how did it get to be MAY already? 6 weeks till A is 3. Bloody hell. Confused how did that happen??
