Omg zhen what a nightmare hope dd is ok now. One of c's friends bumped her head on the floor and had a massive blue and red egg of a bump come up. If it had happened to c i would have taken her to hospital. Luckily the little girl's mum us a gp and had seen that many times before so she wasn't worried and although it looked awful she was absolutely fibe. How scary for you, can't beleive no one helped, what is wrong with people ffs!!!
ninja i must admit that I can't keep up with our juner's children's names
Is dd3's school a bit funny if she gets in late? Wr are a bit worried that we might have had a few more cars go down our road because they have put one of those electronic flashing signs that tell you how fast you are going in the main road parallel to ours, for a ehile we thought it might mean they were planning on putting some humps.

Hi June, hope the antib helped and you feeling better

Just been away. Nightmare of childcare made worse by nanny being stuck abroad+not able to look after kids. Woke up to her email Friday.interviewed temp nanny Fri night and fortunately kids liked her. The last minute nature of some of these trips is so hard. I don't think there is an easy answer. Full time nanny-if only work paid enough and I actally worked full time. tricky.

gauchita, hope you've managed some time to relax. Saw this thread and thought of you at least mil is now a distant memory! Must be lovely to be home again after all that time, D's probably wondering what the hell is going on, it's bloody cold atm.

snow, hope you're fully recovered from your trip and you're managing nursery on the right days

E has decided he doesn't want to sleep in his bed, he strips his pjs off and goes to sleep on the floor on his pile of muslins He looks so cute curled up but the reality is that he is freezing cold and should be in his bed! Oh and the pile of muslins will be all the clean ones that he's got out of his drawer. He's ok to be put in his bed but he must be frozen, daft child.

Skillbo, how are things?

I'm so jet-lagged I can't even believe it. Flights were fine, Lufthansa managed to cock everything up by confirming D's cot on the morning and then somehow giving it to someone else by the time I arrived at the airport and did the check-in Not impressed at all. One of the ladies from the crew moved us to a row with 3 seats available so at least the DC had room to sleep (all-night flight). I, on the other hand...

I've been lazy and haven't asked DH about the itinerary for London. Will do that tomorrow and will PM you.

For the moment I'm trying to catch up on as much sleep as I can Off to bed then

Quick post as trying to get our bedroom decorated before kitchen gets ripped out on Monday. DH has suddenly realised that DD2 could come any day and we should really get a move on with the decorating!

How's everyone? gauchita when are you going to London?

Here dh has decided to stop smoking,(again) and he is really moody & paranoid (thinks im going to go and have an affair with my trainer cause I went to the shops and put some perfume on yesterday), and hasn't actually stopped smoking so he is frustrated with himself on top of that. Argh!!!! What do I do?? I have tried reassuring him that I'm not interested in anyone else but him but it's not stopping him feeling paranoid. . (I haven't done or said anything to make him think this by the way.)
Hope the rest of the juners are having a good time and no snow, it's kind of sleety today here! Hope it doesn't snow.

Think you might be right about DH, he is currently filling around windows so that there are no drafts in front room! Starts decorating N's bedroom tomorrow too, so I am going to SIL's to escape with N over the weekend.

Kitchen units mostly done, think they will be starting decorating later today or tomorrow.

June, you can only reassure DH through your actions so maybe you arrange a babysitter, get dressed up, put the perfume on and go out for a nice suprise night out together. Giving up smoking makes you grouchy generally so it will pass as the nicotine cravings weaken.

june, I'm with zhen, giving up smoking is awful for the rest of the family too! Dh gave up 4 years ago, he was really snappy for a couple of weeks but it soon passed. Put him on the naughty step, one minute for each year of his age, that should give him time to think about his behaviour

it's cold, have I said that yet! Dd3 has had a bad week, her 1:1 has been off sick since wednesday and she's not coped very well despite the schools best efforts I have everything crossed she's better by monday! Dh is having an 80's music fest on you tube moaning about how no one writes decent songs any more

Lots of snow here now.thankfully we got into town early and stocked up on yummy things at the farmers market.started snowing about 930am, the kids loved it. I don't think I ever tire of being snowed on either!you would think it might get less exciting after 8 years,but no.
Well, we aren't moving north, DH came second at interview. His job here has been extended another 6 months think goodness, so he will keep applying for suitable jobs as they come up.

Got the fire cranking, coffee on, Bacon sarnie anyone? Kids asleep, think I might have a nana nap too

don't worry snow (very apt name today!) I plan on being here for a fair while longer, however the odd waft of bacon sarnies and gin may be enough to lure me out Dh must have been gutted to come second! At least you can stay put for a while longer with the bacon butties and warm fire.

the roads were awful yesterday afternoon round here but are thankfully clearer today. Traffic has been slightly nuts, we live on the same road as a park with a big dip in the middle (foundations of an old manor house) and loads of people have driven over and the road is parked right up, not a problem usually as it's a wide road but as the traffic has been diverted the buses can't get through where the crossing islands are as people have stupidly parked there I predict a few missing wing mirrors by the time it gets dark!

Ninja, oh people are going to be mad when they see their mirrors gone should have known better huh. Hope DD3's 1-1 is all better by tomorrow, fingers crossed. Glad to hear the schools is fully behind her and tried their best to make it as smooth as possible when she was off, hope DD3's new week is better.

Snow, sorry to hear about DH's potential job, but I guess the silver lining is you won't have to move yet again in less than 6 months. How are the DC? Ohhh a warm fire, I love open fires, is that what you guys have there?

Zhen, hope the works are all over now. is dh still nesting? When's your due date??? You must be close now, I remember it being Feb!

I'm listening to A not have his arvo sleep. Z is poorly+into her second hour. A is now in his big bed.it is mostly going ok, just too tempting for him to play in his room.

gauchita, funnily enough the council have put cones out now to stop parking in the tight spots I think the bus drivers must have complained as well! How's the snow and fog this morning? Not much of the snow has settled over night, just a light dusting in the sheltered parts of the garden, the dcs are most disappointed it's not enough to close the schools

snow, spectator fun most definitely, bit like when we lived opposite a school watching the arguing over parking there I'm still under my pile of blankets! How's Z, any better? E often has a play in his room before he goes to sleep, not as much as he did at first, the novelty wore off pretty quickly although we do sometimes find him asleep on the floor

skillbo, how're you doing as family of four now

well, we are the house of ill this week. Dd3 has had a temp since saturday, seemed well enough for school wednesday and went but was hot again and hasn't been well enough to complete the week. Ds1 and E missed school on tuesday because of being ill and having a temp but are both better again. Dh only managed a couple of hours in work on monday before coming home with much the same thing which is unusual for him, normally he just carries on and moans for england about how ill and dying he is while I tell him to stop moaning, it's just a cold offer sympathy. So I took dh and dd3 to the doctors yesterday, dd3 has an infection somewhere but he didn't know where so we're just keeping an eye on her for now. But [sigh] dh has pneumonia, only a very small dose but still pneumonia I will never be allowed to forget this every time he so much as sniffs from here on in so he's got antibiotics. The doctor asked what he took for his asthma but he won't use his inhalers so doctor said he probably doesn't have asthma then . . . until he listened to his chest and decided he really should use them and also prescribed steroids for him.

so that has been my week, fun eh? waves to all
