Happy birthday June!!!! Have a lovely day!!! Thanks

snowwombat · 17/12/2011 20:27

Happy birthday june, hope you are out and enjoying your meal. Was C ok?

Watching strictly,in peace, DH at the supermarket as sainsbury kindly cancelled our order last night +could not offer any other slots before Christmas. Joy. Who to vote for ?jason ?chelsea?harry. They were all fab.

My sister arrives tom for a few days then the ILs here for Christmas. DH sensibly left Xmas decorations at the flat so want and bought a few cheap things today. Bit pissed off though,as A really into Christmas and he enjoyed decorating the tree last year. We hv put the tree on a.sideboard as Z is on a mission to destroy it. She turned one on thurs. Can't believe it.

ninja the kids concerts sound lovely.how wonderful for DD3 and her award.what a difference the right school makes
zhen sounds like baby growing very well!
gauchita belated happy birthday to you.how is BA this weekend?sending you a big hug.
skillbohope you ok,have been thinking if you

We had a great trip, thanks for asking. Kids loved seeing the family.they were on good form while I went to work in Tokyo, behaved well for my dad and step mum. I really enjoyed the work trip, although 8 days was too long to be away from them (for me, the kids were fine).really really happy that z decided to keep feeding when I returned.

Must go make some dinner as jet lag wants to close my eyes right now

June2009 · 18/12/2011 10:27

5 minute's respite...time for a cuppa and some breakfast (finally!!)

It's only 10am and we've done so much with C already, she is really demanding and full on at the moment so we're watching timmy the sheep on youtube. Is this age particularly hardwork or do I need to be stricter?? I feel like I've been saying "no" all morning (to writing on the table throwing things, that type of stuff).

Thank you very much for all the bday wishes :)
ninja I was going to tell you on the chat but their app on the phone/ipad isn't great and I couldn't make it work anymore.
C was absolutely fine in the end, when we left they she was eating the babysitter's dinner on the sofa watching tinkerbell :)

We had a brilliant night out in quite a trendy place (unusual for us), we giggled about the overuse of fake eyelashes, and fake tan! Some of the clothes these barely-20yo wear are SO short it's scary now that I have a daughter! I really hope she develops more of a classy taste for clothes.
The food was really lovely and the decor really special.

Anyway better be off, still not finished my xmas cards or wrapping the presents (now "new year cards" I think...) and the house is a tip.

gauchita I've emailed you, sending you lots of {{{hugs}}}.

Skillbo · 18/12/2011 23:29

Hello ladies - am so sorry for the huge gap in my posts but it has been quite hectic here! Only finished work last week so have had a few days off to get shopping, wrap stuff, spend time as a family of 3...

Am still the size of a house although my due date is tomorrow so am hoping that things start to move... J was on time so here's hoping, eh!!

Haven't had a chance to really catch up on a lot of your posts as it's been so long but am impressed with all of you who've sorted potty training. It's something I'd love to get nailed but J just doesn't seem to be ready yet although am hopeful in the new year. She starts nursery in the first week of Jan which makes me a little nervous as I don't want her to feel shoved out of the house due to the new baby. She is definitely ready though (she's going to a slightly inner city version of her fancy pre-school as they came up with a place and it means we can ger het in for three days for the cost of one at the other place!!).

Happy Birthday Gauchita and June - hope you both had a great time...

Sounds like you're soaking up the sun in BA, Gauchita - but tough to be away from DH and also not knowing about your passports.. hope they arrive before Xmas eve so you can come back.. haven't had a chance to read about your MIL but hope you're ok!!

Sounds like it's been a bit hectic at yours, Ninja - although might have to go and check your profile picture as am intrigued!! All those little nativity bits sounds lovely though - am looking forward to the start of all that next year...

Snow - as always , am very impressed with your globe trotting.. always sounds so glamorous! Must be nice to be home and in your new place for Christamas thoghh!!

Zhen - had to smile about the baby in N's belly, J has similar thoughts and seems convinced DH has one as well.. .bless him, he has got a small sympathy belly but nothing like mine!!

Any rate - I really MUST go to sleep - just in case it's the last chance I've got for a while Xmas Grin

TheNinjaGooseIsARoasting · 21/12/2011 16:47

evening all Xmas Smile

snow, happy birthday to Z, hope she had a fab birthday, wow that year went fast!! What did you think of the dancing, I think Jason should have made the second round. Why is it always us that miss the kids more than they miss us Xmas Confused it's like the first day of school, the majority of kids skipping in happily and the crowd of mums at the gate having a communal sob Xmas Grin

june, yay for C being fine and a good evening out! This age is hard work, it's not just you Xmas Grin this too shall pass and be replaced with something different

skillbo, hope all is going well and we'll have new baby news very soon Xmas Smile

gauchita, have everything crossed for you, it WILL be better this time Xmas Smile

I'm currently watching the gate cam at the dump as I've just sent dh off there with a load of our rubbish, how thrilling for him Xmas Grin think I just spotted him, there's a few seconds between each shot so not that easy to tell. He said he would wave Xmas Grin how exciting our lives have become!!!!!

the dcs are all suitably hyped ready for the big day, I don't think E quite gets what's going on but he's joining in anyway and having a ball!

waves to all Xmas Smile

snowwombat · 21/12/2011 20:01

skillbo fab to see you here.hope you enjoying some quiet time with the 3 of you before bubba arrives. Any twinges? I hope you have a good labour experience. ?sthampn?

would love a labour thread to live vicariously through. I think we will settle with our two.I would dearly love 2 more but cannot face another stressful pregnancy.very blessed to have them.

ninja thanks for the birthday wishes for z. She had a great day.sounds like lovely Christmas chaos in your house

gauchita thinking of you my dear

june so pleased you had a fabulous birthday dinner.sounds like an interesting venue!

zhen how is that belly of yours?are you all settled in the new place now? What gorgeous phrases are N using now? A finally has enough words to sing songs.I love listenening to him sing away,so cute.

Think I might go to bed.z up 4 or 5 times a night at the moment. Teeth and cold not helping.

GauchitaCascabel · 22/12/2011 21:12

Marking place.

June2009 · 22/12/2011 21:38

right, help - I think...
C has discovered her, errr, ladybits. She was in the living room, burst into the kitchen, sat on the floor, legs akimbo, and said "look daddy!!" "what is it?", while pointing Grin. dh said ooh, don't touch it it's your flower. "but i have to show you!!" "no we don't show it ok, mummy's going to have a look ok". Grin.
sooooo, we went to the changing table and I cleaned her and put some cream (it was a little bit sore), later on the toilet she said " it's my flower, im going to put a spoon in it and i'm going to take it off". so i explained that it's here to stay and we don't take it off...
i wasn't expecting that for a few years yet, what do I say? is there a book with guidelines on how to approach private body parts and why we don't show them to our friends without her thinking it's shameful or dirty??
I'm not sure i want her to call her clitoris a flower, it's not a flower...dh had to think of something fast though so that will do for tonight!

what's your take on it??

skillbo how exciting, any news yet?
gauchita thinking of you xxx
ninja im dreading the first day at school, our lot will be the youngest ones of their year won't they, awwwwwww.

TheNinjaGooseIsARoasting · 23/12/2011 12:12

morning all Xmas Smile

just in case you haven't found it this year yet, norad track santa Xmas Smile not long to go now!

june, I don't know if there's any books but there's plenty of threads on here if you have a look, generally the advice is to keep it as factual as possible and not give body parts names which could lead to confusion in general discussion, dh's face must have been a picture though Xmas Grin It's more about having a discussion about personal space and boundaries, you can include other things, nose picking is always a good one Xmas Grin or giving strangers kisses etc. It's hard thinking that this time next year we'll have had to apply for a school place already for our los, where does the time go?!

snow, wasn't such lovely chaos when dd3 puked all over dh the other evening, I didn't laugh much Xmas Grin I call it pay back after the years of reflux she had that generally ended up all over me! Hope Z's teeth are through and she's sleeping better Xmas Smile

gauchita, good luck for today, I have everything crossed for you Xmas Smile

skillbo, hope all's going well for you Xmas Smile

zhen, hope you're all sorted for christmas in your new place Xmas Smile

waves to all Xmas Smile

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 23/12/2011 14:40

Hello everyone Xmas Smile, hope all the Christmas prep is going well.

Had a spanner put in the works of my Christmas shopping today when DD woke up at 5am with diarrhoea and vomiting.

Luckily DH has taken it upon himself to do the food shopping while I stay at home with the towels and sick bowl at the ready. Not sure who got the worst job there Xmas Grin

Here's hoping that it works its way out by Christmas day, so we can go to my Dad's for Christmas dinner.

On the plus side DH built N's wooden kitchen that we got her for Christmas (took him 6 hours, it was so fiddly!), this one, so that is keeping her happy in between the d&v, even if it is a bit of an early Christmas present. She has been going round telling all her teddies how proud she is of her kitchen Xmas Grin

Skillbo hope things are happening for you and that you will have a lovely newborn in time for Christmas Xmas Smile

Snow Happy belated birthday to Z, 1 year, doesn't time fly Xmas Smile Belly is good thanks, have a scan at 32 weeks on 3rd Jan to check for low placenta, where we will get to see her again so really looking forward to that.

Ninja sounds like Christmas will be fun round at yours, I love the big family atmosphere. We will be going to SIL (who has 5 kids + 1 grandkid at her house) the day after Boxing Day so that N can run around screaming with her cousins Xmas Grin

June Xmas Grin at C, N knows about hers too, we call it her 'minnie' as that is the name her older girl cousins use. She knows that we don't show it to anyone but mummy (although DH does clean her after potty/toilet and bathes her too) and that mummy has one too, but she doesn't show it to everyone. Now that she is going on 3 we always make sure that she is properly dressed around male family members, except DH so that she is aware of boundaries, but having older cousin role models helps.

Gauchita hope the new appointment went ok x

GauchitaCascabel · 23/12/2011 22:43

Evening ladies,

Skillbo, woo hoo! Hope you're cuddling a little baby soon, if not already Xmas Smile Sending birthing vibes if baby is being stubborn Xmas Wink

Snow, oh happy belated birthday to Z! I totally forgot about her day... she has the same birthday as a friend of mine so I was sure I was going to remember Xmas Blush Hope she had a great day. Bless her so determined to break the tree Xmas Grin

Ninja, oh I bet Christmas at the Ninja household is fun Xmas Smile Who won SCD? I made DH watch X Factor for me and send me reports via email Xmas Grin

June, M realised a few months ago, we had a few weeks of some "poking" Xmas Grin but she was very little verbal at that time so there was more talking from us than much interaction Xmas Grin She left it alone a few months ago and only mentions it (using a word in Spanish) when having a bath, etc.

Zhen, oh poor N. Hope she's a bit better now. I bet she's thrilled with her new kitchen Xmas Smile How's the bump?

Right, new appt this morning, it went well. The lady who saw me was very apologetic on behalf of everyone here and in the centre overseas. She took lots of time to make sure everything was there and fortunately agreed to sign and stamp a covering letter + checklist I had taken (one for them and one for me). Now I have to sit and wait and pray One month one day to go

Here Christmas is celebrated the night of 24th, children wait awake and open presents at 12am etc etc. FIL and partner will spend it at one of his partner's son's (hope that makes sense ha!) but I'll be staying here and going to bed as usual. Thankfully they understand and aren't making a fuss of it. I don't feel Christmassy at all, M goes to bed between 7 and 7.30 so won't be OK staying until 2am until we get back. She'll be moody, falling asleep on a sofa and I'd have to deal with both DC on my own as DH is obviously not here to help. I can't expect FIL or partner or partner's DC to help me as they have their own children and I'd hate to bring the mood down or to have to put a poker face on just because we've been invited. So I'm staying here and going to bed early Xmas Wink

I think M has a sty, and this morning after the appt she slipped and fell on the street and has a bump on her forehead so between the two she looks like Mike Tyson after a fight, bless her.

D is huge, he weighed 8kg two weeks ago Xmas Shock I'm scared of weighing him again, I swear ha! I didn't bring clothes for such a long time for him and things are on the tight side now... clothes are so expensive here I'm trying not to buy anything, we'll see how he goes Xmas Grin

If the thread is quiet tomorrow I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and enjoys it fully Xmas Smile All the best wishes for you and your families Xmas Smile

Waves xxx

Skillbo · 23/12/2011 23:06

Just quickly popping in to say STILL waiting... J was smack bang on time so even though it's only been four days over, it seems like an eternity!

June - J has been sort of playing with hers in the bath for a while and we don't really discourage her but do try and tell her it's private. I remember saying something similar to my mum when I was small (probably about 5) and how it felt nice and my mums response did make me a bit repressed so swore I would never be like this to any of my DD's.. it's a tough one though but so far no public displays - not sure what I'll say if or when that comes about!

Guachita - so are you in BA for another month.. that must be so hard! And if your home is anything like mine I would be loathe to buy any more clothes as we have tons sat here waiting for little legs to fill them up!! Midnight would be a killer for us too but I could be tempted to wake them maybe? mind you, if you're having problems with the inlaws, then I would definitely be going your way!

Zhen - that kitchen looks fabulous although SIX hours.. your DH must have a lot of patience. Hope N is well and truly on the mend!

Snow - more belated birthday wishes for Z.. bet that first year has 'flown' - bet she hasdone more air miles than me!!

Ninja - had to Xmas Smile at looking for DH on the cctv!

Can't believe it is Christmas Eve tomorrow - hopinbg everyone has a wonderful time and hopefully I'll have news for you when manage to get back on after the festive season!

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 24/12/2011 22:50

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have a lovely (if slightly crazy Xmas Wink) day with your families tomorrow.

Thanks for all your good wishes, N hasn't vomited since 4am this morning and is eating a little, although she still has the D in D&V, so we will be going to my dad's tomorrow Xmas Grin

Skillbo here's hoping that DC2 holds off now until after the Christmas dinner and choccies Xmas Wink

Gauchita glad your appointment went well, very savvy of you to have made them sign and stamp the checklist. Hope you had a restful evening and that you have a good day with the kids and inlaws tomorrow.

snowwombat · 25/12/2011 00:15

June2009 · 26/12/2011 09:07

Hope you had a lovely christmas and you're enjoying boxing day. I thought about you gauchita, hope you're doing ok despite the circumstances. skype is great isn't it.
We had a lovely time, mil and fil both came over (separately and at different times obviously.) sil and her bf came over for a drink and stayed over for the starter which was lovely.

C wants to make cupcakes so I'd better get going :D

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 26/12/2011 20:58

Hope everyone had a good day yesterday and you are enjoying Boxing Day :)

Christmas was interesting this year to say the least. Spent Christmas morning in paediatric A&E with DD as she wasn't holding down any fluids due to D&V. Docs were happy with her hydration (was syringing in dioralyte every 5 mins) so said we were ok to go to my dads for food.

So off we went and ate yummy duck my brother had cooked, having had hardly any sleep the night before it was great just to relax and have food provided. Luckily DD picked up and kept water down, but no Christmas dinner sad

Spent all day today cooking with DH for my dad and brother. DH cooked goat curry, rice and peas and jerk prawns, yum smile and I cooked snails which were a bit too chewy [hmmm].

Back home now, DD is eating yay! smile

Skillbo · 27/12/2011 23:01

Happy Xmas all!

Am STILL waiting to meet the new arrival so have had a lovely few days although J hasn't been right either... vomiting on Xmas eve, fine on Xmas day (well, no vom and able to get some food in) but turn for the worse yesterday with a high temperature and a call to the out of hours doctor... Calpol is wonderful stuff though and got her out of her floppy, roasting state but she's still not right! I know it's that time of the year but is rotten timing with Xmas and all! Zhen - hope she's on the mend now!

Gauchita - love the idea of dinner over Skype although obviously would be better in the flesh but very sweet!

Contractions have been off and on for a couple of days so fingers crossed there will be some news in the next day or so - my parents have been on the phone every day since last Monday so am getting desperate! The constant badgering texts and calls are almost as bad as the endless waiting!

Anyways - could moan for Britain right now so will sign out and wish you all a lovely few last days of 2011 xx

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 27/12/2011 23:30

Sorry to hear that J has been ill too Skillbo, poor little 'uns. Maybe the baby will hold off until she is better and you can be more relaxed. Hope it all happens soon for you x

N is much better today, ate 3 small meals, no vomiting or diarrhoea. She has lost loads of weight, but I am sure she will make up for it tomorrow as her stomach expands again Smile

TheNinjaGooseIsARoasting · 28/12/2011 09:28

morning all Xmas Smile

GauchitaCascabel · 28/12/2011 11:44

Morning all!
