Hello everyone, pic of Bentley our kitten on my profile now for you to awww over!

Ninja - we are going to my Dad's for Christmas this year to be with my brother and him. My DH gets on really well with my dad and sees him as a father figure so a good place to be considering that this will be his first Christmas without his mum and it will be difficult for him.

June - Glad potty training is going ok, it does take time so don't worry about accidents.

Gauchita - hope MIL has settled down a bit now and that they get on with your documents so that you can get back to home comforts soon.

Had a bit of a drama on Monday as DD had an allergic reaction to a lolly that I gave her a lick of. She came up in large welts/hives all over her legs and arms. Took her to emergency GP appt yesterday and got Piriton just in case, which GP tells me if given within 20 mins will avert all but the most serious of reactions and got a referral to dermatology but will have to wait 2-3 months. Good thing I got the Piriton as she had another reaction today, both times have been after she has woken from her nap. I am sure it is food related though as it is always within two hours of her eating and she doesn't have reactions in the night/morning when in her bed. DH has lots of food allergies so I suppose it shouldn't be a suprise, but I will be relieved to know exactly what she is sensitive too so I can avoid it, especially before she starts nursery/school.

Feel absolutely huge today, baby on another growth spurt I think as the skin over my belly feels tighter. I am much bigger than last time with DD and she feel bigger when she turns, so I am hoping that she won't be too huge (DD was 8lb's). Other than the usual sciatica, dead legs and hip pain on waking I am pretty good. 27+3 today, still got three whole months to go!

evening all Smile

zhen, your profile isn't public so can't see your pic. Bentley is a very good name for a kitten! Hope christmas is ok for dh, it's so hard Sad How's N doing now, any better? Sympathies on feeling huge, I'd almost forgotten that bit of pregnancy but reading that made me remember, not the best bit! Are you starting to get ready or do you still have everything?

gauchita, at least if dh is busy at work he's not at home making a mess Grin As we know who bought the bowl for mil we can guess it wouldn't have been a really expensive one so we're hopeful a replacement won't hurt too much!! You're only getting sympathies for D with the heat, it's got really cold this week here Grin oh and it's rained a large chunk of the day. Your friends sound lovely, I'm sure they can't expect completely uncluttered, not long to go, hopefully they'll get a wriggle on and get your documents back to you soon!

june, keep going with the potty training, C's doing fine for a start, dd2 was like that at the start but was dry within a week, dd1 had fewer accidents to start with but took longer over all. I always wonder what people think when they're in the next cubicle and your standing there, do you want a wee, are you going, how much longer, you don't need paper you haven't done anything . . . Grin Dh gave up smoking about 4 years ago, but before that he was out on that doorstep in all sorts of weather Grin

snow, how're you getting on, hope all's fine Smile

got a phonecall from audiology for dd3 yesterday, her new mould and hearing aid are in . . . but they can't fit her in to fit it before the second week of january [arrrggghhhhh] just waiting to see what they can do, it's a long wait, will have to see if they get a cancellation! E seems to be sleeping slightly better think he may have been teething again which disturbed him.

Have tried to make profile public, can someone tell me if it has worked now.

June2009 · 01/12/2011 22:45

zhen I can see the cutest kitten on your profile :D

ninja thanks we did carry on with the potty training and C. has not had many accidents, she's got the weeing petty much sussed, only 1 accident today, however numbers 2's are a bit more difficult for her.

gotta go C's up...

I had to copy you TheNinjaGooseIsARoasting

It is colder today, actually feels more like winter is on the way, I love those clear fresh November days, except they are now in December!

June - well done to C, she is doing really well. Poos took N longer as she was used to standing up to do them. I bought Morrisons 99p potty which brings her knees up higher and that helped her to go on potty. Now she can even go in the toilet using the training seat!

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 02/12/2011 16:08

Whoops

TheNinjaGooseIsARoasting · 02/12/2011 16:44

Grin zhen, love it!

June2009 · 04/12/2011 01:05

Just wanted to update quickly that C's been doing really well with the potty training, only one accident thursday and one friday morning, none today and her nappy is dry at naptime so we took that off today too. she was telling us "i love you" loads tonight which was really great, good times :D

X

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 04/12/2011 08:48

Go C, that is great June!

Well two nights ago N told us she didn't want to sleep with a nappy anymore (she doesn't have one for naps). So we went with it and put bed mats down in layers with sheets expecting the odd accident. DH has been putting her on potty around midnight in her sleep for her to wee, which she does on suggestion and we have had two dry nappy free nights!! I was thinking that night-training was going to take a while, but it seems she has trained herself :)

Gauchita · 05/12/2011 20:15

Marking my place for a catch-up later Smile

Gauchita · 05/12/2011 22:35

Evening all!

June, that's fantastic news!!! Yay for C! and

Zhen, wow as well! Night training done already! Absolutely fantastic, well done N! (And great timing as DC2 is coming soon Wink) M has come round I guess and is now telling me she wants a poo and she sits on the toilet and goes Now we have to work on the wee; today she spent all afternoon in her swimsuit after we went to the pool and didn't do a wee until she was going to have her bath before bedtime... pity she went right outside the bath Grin even the bath would have been better than the floor but oh well Grin Oh, the kitten is gorgeous!! So so cute. How's N with it?

Ninja, thanks for your messages on FB Smile Same to you June! Smile Man, I hope they can do something about DD3's appointment to get her aid fitted. Second week of January is over a month from now

Right, we're officially nomads, the DC and me Grin Hmm We moved from our friend's house to DH's dad's house on Friday. I was so frustrated last week as my friend went from saying "stay as much as you need" to showing little excitement at us staying Confused You know when you can tell? Well, I felt that. And even though I made us as invisible as possible, I cleaned, tidied up, washed up, hung clothes if they were in the machine, picked up after M and kept the flat in the same state they left it every morning, I could feel some odd vibes. So I told her we were coming here for a few days and that we'd be back this Wednesday (they are all going away as it's a "long weekend", i.e. UK bank holiday) so we'd be there in the flat and take care of the cats as well for her. Then, we're coming back on Monday (my bday) and staying until Sunday only to go back to hers again until we leave on Christmas eve.

Believe me, I'd stay here maybe, just for the sake of staying in one place, BUT, DH's dad lives on the outskirts of the city, far far away Grin and I can't see anyone here; so I'm arranging to see friends etc on the days I'm at my friend's.

The silver lining is that over here we're being made to feel really welcome Smile DH's dad's partner helps me with the DC a bit and that makes SUCH a difference. We have the pool (it's scorching hot here atm) and that helps too Grin

DH told me it snowed quite hard last night at home Smile

Right, DS is hungry, not a shocker at all Grin

morning all Smile

june and zhen, fab news on the potty training front!!

gauchita, so pleased to hear you've got things sorted but a big booooooo for your friends messing you around! It's lovely that side of the family have been welcoming and not as loopy as mil and are helping out. No snow down south yet but it's freezing this week, make the most of that heat, think you might be in for a bit of a shock when you get back Xmas Grin

Heya, yeah we're doing ok with potty training, I'm not afraid to take C. outdoors anymore, she can hold it until we find a suitable toilet. Number two's are still a bit hit and miss, we think she has it sorted and then she goes and a near miss. Kids teach you "patience", don't they :)
We just went on an overnight trip, (so long car trip with no nappy which went well), spent a night at a hotel all together and her behaviour was good overall, we took the bus and went swimming, all very exciting stuff for C so poor little mite is really tired now.
She has also started dropping her naps anyone else not sleeping during the day anymore?
On the days that she has had her nap, her nappy has been dry so I don't always bother putting one on, her night nappies are dry sometimes but not everytime so we're going to keep them on for a while longer I think.

Christmas looming and still not got a present sorted for my 25yo brother, any ideas welcome! :D

Gauchita I hope youre having a better time and being on the outskirts is helping keeping your mil out of sight!

Gauchita · 11/12/2011 23:02

Marking my place for later!

Gauchita · 11/12/2011 23:52

Evening ladies Smile

June, that's fantastic! How great C's doing! Smile What type of things does your brother like?

Zhen, I saw you on Nickel's thread Grin

Ninja, thanks for asking, again Smile And thanks for the nn suggestions, although I must say we might have to let the last one go, as I don't have a "panza" anymore Grin (panza = bump) but you didn't have to know that! Grin Can I ask what the first one would mean? Blush

Not feeling Christmassy at all here! Maybe it's the fact that life is a mess atm Grin or the fact that it's SO hot here! Grin 'tis hard to feel the Christmas vibes Grin

Keeping every single thing crossed so that the passports come back on time and we're able to fly on 24th. Otherwise I'll have to get new tickets, which will cost a blinking fortune Think of us, ladies, and think hard so that I get that email with the tracking link for the documents tomorrow or Tuesday Wink

Also, it's my birthday tomorrow Grin I was going to have lunch with a friend but she cancelled today, boo hoo. So no plans at the moment. We're also moving back to DH's dad's tomorrow. I decided I'll be there until we leave as moving backwards and forwards all the time is blinking knackering and I'm already tired enough, thank you Grin

MIL keeps calling but I ignore calls with loads of great excuses and keep making arrangements through my SIL, except for this weekend as SIL went away so I arranged things by email. We went to the Zoo with the DC, it was melting hot, absolutely horrible, but had I said "let's do it some other time, it's too hot" she'd have used that against me big time so... that's done now and now I'm going far far away from the city Wink

Hope everyone is well and not too cold Smile Any snow yet down south? DH had some last week, but it was a one off Smile

Waves!

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 12/12/2011 00:29

Saw you too Gauchita, happy birthday again!

How about GauchitaCascabel for your Christmas nickname? Hope that you get those passports before the 24th. No snow in London, not even that cold yet really.

GauchitaCascabel · 12/12/2011 00:39

Zhen, do you speak any Spanish, by any chance? So pleased for Nickel!! That was the longest birth thread ever! Hoping the sore underneathsies, as she calls them, get better soon for her

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 12/12/2011 01:01

Un poco Gauchita, I studied a module in my last year at Uni, but have to confess that I didn't do much work on it! Have been to Spain twice too.

Ouch, yes sore underbeneathsies no fun, I have been frantically doing pelvic floor exercises since I started reading her thread today. Not long to go for me and I want everything to be lovely and stretchy, especially as I think DD2 is going to be over 8lb's at the rate she is growing.

TheNinjaGooseIsARoasting · 12/12/2011 14:59

afternoon all Xmas Smile

gauchita, oops Blush I'm not convinced I've mastered english on occasion let alone spanish Xmas Grin GauchitAtChristmasCharades cheat at christmas charades, much like my kids do Xmas Grin Hope you have a great birthday and the passports turn up, best present possible I think!

june, fab news on the potty training, still waiting for E, may have a go over christmas. Only thing I can think for your db is an amazon voucher, not much use I don't think though!

zhen, funny how certain things make us think of our pelvic floors Xmas Grin Hope all's going well, what does N think to the new baby sister?

we took E and dd3 to see father christmas yesterday, neither of them looked too sure but they were quite happy afterwards when we were talking about it. They also had reindeer in the shopping centre, not sure it was particularly fair on the animals but the dcs faces were a picture Xmas Smile

June2009 · 17/12/2011 13:55

hey snow welcome back :D how was your trip? what are you up to for xmas and stuff?

ninja I got him some ipod speakers in the end, not feeling 100% that it's really "him" iyswim, but hey, it's a gadget, what male doesn't like a gadget? right? Everything else is sorted, just expecting one more delivery and food delivery on Tuesday. Well that's the first year I'm so organised, something is bound to mess up!!

In other news it's my b'day today:D Spent the morning with C. getting cake and going to see her my friend and her new son which was lovely, going out tonight to the restaurant and C. has just said she doesn't like her babysitter anymore and she doesn't want her to come, Hmm, I wonder how this will go tonight!

Potty training, well I think she's all right now, no accidents in a while. Sometimes she'll be doing something and stops in her tracks and you know something is going on so we ask her if she needs the toilet and she says yes and runs there, not sure whether she would have had an accident if we hadn't asked iyswim.

talking about potty training, I have a bottom to wipe now so better go before C sits somewhere knickerless...
take care juners!

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 17/12/2011 14:33

Welcome back Snow hope your trip went well, must have been lovely to see family :)

Happy Birthday June Thanks. Hope it all goes ok with the babysitter tonight and you get to enjoy your meal.

Ninja hope Christmas preparations are going well, is DD1 home yet? N is looking forward to having a little sister, although she does seem convinced that she too has a baby in her belly Grin

Any news Gauchita?

Skillbo must be due soon, I wonder when we will hear of her new arrival?

Hope Vene, AllOverIt and MrsMc are all well, been a while since we have heard from them.

TheNinjaGooseIsARoasting · 17/12/2011 18:59

evening all Xmas Smile

snow, just back in time for the strictly final and Jason then Xmas Grin Trip back doesn't sound good but hope the rest of it was much better! No news that I'm aware of no pressure ladies Xmas Grin

june, happy birthday, have a great evening out, sorry I didn't realise earlier Xmas Blush The good thing about being 2 is that our dcs are becoming bribable Xmas Grin comes in very handy when they take a dislike for babtsitters in all sorts of situations. E will currently do almost anything for a chocolate out of the celebrations tin Xmas Grin Gadgets, got to be good, dh is always drawn to any shop that looks gadgety, he once decided he wanted a cement mixer Xmas Hmm don't know why, he just thought it may be useful.

zhen, dd1 has been back about a week but is staying with her boyfriend until christmas eve so we're just getting visits which is nice. My friends ds was the same when she was expecting his baby brother Xmas Grin tis very sweet though!

skillbo, hope all is well with you Xmas Smile

gauchita, really hoping there's passport news soon!!

bit of a manic week here as it was the end of term for E, dd3 and dd2, poor old ds1 has the hump as he's got 2 more days in school. Went to dd3's nativity, she was a sheep and mary at the end, it was brilliant, she was dancing around having a ball. Such a difference from last year where she just sat there looking nervous, and to top it off she got the headteachers award (with another girl in her class) for settling into her new school so well [proud] I love that school, it's made the world of difference to dd3. Managed to get dd3's new hearing aid yesterday [yay] not that she wants to wear it but we can bribe work on that!

E has his christmas singsong at preschool, it was only a 5 minute thing but was lovely, even if he did just manage to sit there with his thumb in mouth Xmas Grin Almost sorted for christmas apart from fresh food which I'll send dh out for so just have to finish sorting the dining room that is still cluttered with loft stuff so we can sit in a clean room for christmas dinner!

if anyone fancies a giggle have a look at my profile photo, guess which one is me Xmas Grin
