WOW there are some incredible birthday parties planned!

I can;t believe its all come around again so quickly.

BB4 congratulations on the new job. Sounds fab, and it is very 'cool' that you get to work and keep tabs on the kids i mean see them everyday :)

babyblue4 · 04/10/2010 17:39

Happy Belated Birthday QOL The drill sounds... Lovely?? GrinGrin

Dal Need an update on the pig hunt!! Grin

Choc Did you manage to get the train?

I am still at a loss as to what to do for Sofia's birthday. I have to get through DS1 Birthday and Thanksgiving weekend first though. Have just gone and bought a 25lb turkey to cook, and will slowly gather the rest of the groceries this week.

Anyway... Just a quick post from me... yaaaawn... just waking up and its half past noon Confused. Will probably go right back to bed too! LOL. These night shifts are killing me. I come home, sleep for 7 hours, then go mad trying to run errands, get DCs sorted, get ready for work, have a quick nap, and its back out the door. 2 more days of this... sigh...

I think Marco is cutting his fourth molar. His bum is raw, the drooling is uncontrollable, and the biting is in high gear! :( Hopefully the tooth comes out quick because he has been quite miserable the last 2 days.

Off I go to enjoy a few more hours of peace before the brood come home from school. Have just put dinner in my slow-cooker so I dont have much work to do later. Had high intentions of conquering the washing, but I think that will have to wait! Grin

strawberrylace · 06/10/2010 17:56

hello everyone!

Hope you are all well and those with early oct birthdays have survived the parties and presents - can't believe how many nice things DS got, mostly Toy Story related though!

He had his first day at pre-school today, which he seemed to enjoy - didn't want me to stay when I dropped him off "no, you go now mummy", went straight in and got them to turn on the computer for him... When I asked him what he'd done all day said "I ate lunch and made a jam sandwich" - think he takes after his dad with his love of food. I'm obviously really pleased that he seemed to settle in ok, but part of me would like him to appear to miss me just a little bit...

Had an appointment with the midwife on Monday - the twins seem to be fine, I am huuuuuge though. Measuring 42cm at 32 weeks, and every day i go in to work people think I have grown overnight! Have no idea how I'm going to get to 38 weeks without needing a crane to get me out of bed in the morning (or how I am going to get rid of my stretched bits after the birth Confused)

Right must go now and find something to cook for tea this evening. Typically DS wants fishfingers, waffles and beans - he is such a creature of habit....

babyblue4 · 07/10/2010 18:08

Well... I survived my night shifts! LOL... but just barely. So glad I took the last 2 shifts as vacation. Yesterday, I got home from work at 4:15am, in bed by 4:30, and DH got me up at 9am after all the DCs were gone to school and nursery. Was hard dragging myself up, but necessary to try and switch my internal clock back to 'normal'. I kept myself busy cleaning house, and finally at 7:30pm, couldnt keep my eyes open any longer, so I gave in to a power nap for and hour. Into bed at 11pm and I was good for the night! Today I am still a bit sleepy (up at 9am again), but at least functioning!

Now I just have to get organized for the weekend. 21 people for Sunday dinner, plus Matteo and Sofia's birthdays to celebrate. Not sure if I should have 2 separate cakes (as there will be other pies served). I got DS's gift sorted (Wii Soccer game). Sigh... good thing I am off work til Tuesday!

Will worry about Sofia's little party when it gets a little closer.

Strawberry Glad to hear things are going well with the babies :) You need to post a pic of your bump! Couldn't even imagine what it would be like to have all those hands and feet moving about at once Grin.

Its off to the gym for me. Then I have a tonne of washing to do and am making cream of broccoli soup for dinner. And I almost forgot... have to sort through Sofia's clothing. Now that it is consistently chilly out, I rummaged through my bins of hand-me-down clothing for season-appropriate clothing. Will have to do the same for Marco soon as well. Sigh...

chocolatestar · 08/10/2010 06:56

Quick hello before work. Last day for a week - who hooo! Soooo badly needed. Finding work very hard going at the momemt, just so tired.

Show went very well in the end. Lots of lovely feedback and someone actually emailed the head teacher to say how good they thought the work is and that they hoped they appreciated me!

Going out for my birthday tonight. Dareh is on a sleep over. Only the second time he has been away from us overnight. Going for some food then to the theatre.

BB how on earth do you fit everything in! You sound so busy. When do you start your new job?

Strawberry, can't imagine having twins in there either. Do you know if they are identical or not? Can they tell?

Right breakfast then get the boys up - have a nice day everyone!!

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/10/2010 07:58

Its, nice to see you are all doing well and the LO's as well.
Take care, enjoy upcoming parties and halloween. Then all have a wonderful Christmas.

My boys are both fine.

LisaLessLumpy · 10/10/2010 21:06

QoL - Happy Birthday to Anya, glad to read you had a good day :)

herjazz · 11/10/2010 22:13

Hello ladies

Glad to read here and on fb that the birthdays and parties are all going well

Choc- yes the rainbow in my room is a light type thing. Wish I could link for you. It's on the bright minds website and in the catalogue. In fact just google rainbow in my room and you'll get. Would be more of a pressie than prop and sure there's no shortage of stuff you could buy there!

Strawberry- that actually sounds rather svelte for 2 babies really! Wow. Not suprising you feel huge. I've felt like that at yr stage of pg with my small singletons. Not long to go now tho. Hope you can bank up a bit of r and r when yr maternity leave kicks in

bb4 that sounds exhausting! Belated congrats on the job

There's a pic of shrek and Winnie cake on my fb. It looks like I'm v ott but my sil has just set up a business doing cakes. She is v v good at it. I wouldn't know where to start. We had loads of people at the party- hence all the cupcakes. Dreaming of a tiny party if any at all for next year. But my family is huge, and then there's friends children and now children from pre school and their siblings! Think it was all a bit overwhelming for j. But he was asking daily about a party and his cake since his sisters in may. So we thought it would makehim feel all important and not pushed out by the new baby. And then paradoxically be a good way for our friends and family to come and meet the new fella ;) luckily my mother is a star and sorted it all out so wasn't too stressful.. for us at least anyway

Am typing blind again so need to wind up this post

herjazz · 11/10/2010 22:23

Same to you ladyevenstar

Hey hope yr drill is a big proper one and not some pink thing QoL ;) and yr plumber sounds a thoroughly nice chap

Hello LLL and everyone else

Dalrymps · 13/10/2010 11:17

Herjazz- saw pics of the party and the cake on fb, it looked fab!

We're just inviting close family to Dylans party but even then that means there will be nearly 20 people squashed in to our little house!

We are also having a mixed theme... Toy story balloons, Disney cars and ghostbuster fairy cakes, cars and spongebob plates lol! He has also requested an aeroplane balloon... Oh and mil might be making a ghost cake as he likes ghostbusters and his birthday is the day before haloween. I thought if just have a bit of everything he likes!

We have foun out we can order toy story toys of disneystore.com and get it delivered to uk for not much shipping so it looks like I may have found the pig! (and a few other bits)

By the way, it's probably a bit late now but my dh mentioned that Home Bargains (if you have one) have big talking Shrek figures for about £7.99....

Hi to everyone else Smile

Strawberry - hope you're not too uncomfortable, not long now!

Off to make a cottage pie for sil now, my niece is 13 days old now and she has a toddler too so thought she'd appreciate a fresh hot tea!

Back soon, thinking of you all x

Inzi Glad to hear you sound so very adjusted to having the 2 DCs! I was a little concerned when I read about your diet though! Please tell me you are not trying to live on 600 calories a day??? Not sure what you meant about the food packs so you will have to explain that to me.

Dal Glad to hear all your Toy Story bits are all coming together!

So I survived the first week of my new job! My co-workers seem to be very nice and friendly. The office is laid back as well. The other new guy and I spent the week visiting our assigned schools to introduce ourselves (I have 33 schools assigned to me!),and trying to get organized with our lesson plans. We sat in on a couple of lessons that were being taught by other officers to get an idea of what needs to be done. This week I will hopefully shadow a different officer everyday while they teach. On Tuesday I am already slotted to teach my first class on my own as the 2 regular officers are both away on a conference. Should be interesting! LOL. I will be teaching 6 year-olds about Pedestrian Safety and Stranger Awareness. Too bad I cant video tape it and post it for your entertainment pleasure!! I am having fun right now... hopefully that continues! I just learned that I could possibly have this job for the next 5 years... which would be incredible!!

So my Thanksgiving dinner went off really well. The food was good, DH and I were super organized, and the weather was fab so my guests could sit in the garden whilst I was cooking. Could not have asked for a better day. Everyone left about 10pm and DH and I were up cleaning up the house until 2am!! Thats the part I dont like! But when you have 21 people for dinner, I guess it cant be avoided. Will post some pics later today on FB!!

Thats it for now... time to go for a run and then we are taking the DCs to the park to play in the leaves. We have had frost the past few nights, so winter is quick approaching. Today its about 15 degrees and sunny, so I want to take advantage of the nice afternoon.

to everyone else!

Hi All

I keep on trying to read on here and by the time I am done then I have to do something else again and end up not posting at all.

So will try now again before I get ready for college.

Firstly happy birthday to everyone that had birthdays by now. I did congratulate on FB but just incase I dont have you on FB.

Dal hope you managed to get the pig by now... Sometimes some of the things are only on the american websites. And even though it seems cheap it adds up to ship it. I wanted a Dora thing for Aaliyah and saw that they only sell it in America and finally decided to let it go.

LLL Well done to Ben being so clever, reminds me of my brother when he was younger. You could not make him believe that someone dressed up was real. Glad you too them to Gullivers Kingdom, which one was that. We took Aaliyah to Gullivers land in Milton Keynes end of August and she loved it but refused to take a photo with Dora or Diego. Maybe they are just too big for them

babyblue4 Cant you believe you ran a marathon, I am so unfit. Hopefully next year after baby. But well done to you. And congrats on getting the job. Also dont think I have you on FB, will try and look you up. Cant believe all the things you do during the day. I get exhausted right now just looking my housework. Please tell me your secret.

Strawberry Glad DS is settling in well at pre-scool. Its amazing how quickly they grow up. Good to hear the twins are doing okay and can only imagine how big you are. At least that would mean they would be both good weights at birth.

herjazz glad to hear the party went well. I think if I was at home we would probably end up having the whole neighbourhood as well, because the family are so big and friends and kids and pre-school. But here the family is very small. Luckily for me at party times.

QOL Happy belated birthday cant remember if i said it on FB. I love the present your dad bought. I love presents like that as I do my own DIY because I will wait forever for DH to do. Since we've been together I've bought my own lawnmower, strimmer, electric screwdriver and toolset. And herjazz, no they not pink. LOL

inzi glad that George is doing well and that Jane is coping well with the new one as well. Hopefully it will go like that here as well as Aaliyah is a little mummy to everyones baby. The childminder has a new baby and the brother gets a little jealous and therefore started fighting with her because she wants to play mummy all the time and before that the two of them played quite well together. Good luck with the diet.

EvaLongoria · 18/10/2010 12:12

On my side all is going great. I am huge at 18 weeks and started showing very early and apparently that is quite normal for second babies. Hopefully I will get back to my pre-baby body after this one as I feel really depressed being bigger than a 10.

All our midwive checks were all good. Had very clear 12 week scan and listened to the heartbeat last week at 17 weeks because DH forgot we had an appointment the week before and he booked me into a mums-to-be spa. I had an amazing time there and had no backache for at least a week. Wish I can have another. Will save some money. I am however experiencing some pains above my fanjo. Initially what scared me is that it felt like a lump and with some history of cancer I am obviously very worried. I showed to midwife and she said it is my pubic bone and if it gets any worse that it could be SPD. It is getting worse by the day and I pray that it is not SPD because I take Aaliyah to school and must get as much college work in as I can before the birth.

Re: parties. I cant believe its that time of the year already. The way I have been feeling I really havent been in the mood for a party. But she talks daily about her birthday. Last week she said to me "Mummy, all my friends are going to come to my party and they going to sing 'Happy Birthday Aaliyah'" I realised that I could not be selfish as I gave her 2 parties before when she was younger and now that she knows what I wanted I cant not give her one. I then looked at what to do and paid for a hall £29 for an afternoon. One day she wants a Peppa Party the next day its a Dora one so gonna see what I can get. Also got a magician for an hour to entertain the kids but only having about 15 kids if not less. Some of our friends and 3 from pre-school and 3 from childminder friends.

She also want a scooter and a baby annabell or a baby born. HAvent made my mind up which one we getting yet. Baby Annabel seems a little bigger so might get her.

But now need to leave for college, got an exam this evening at 6pm and also need to finish personal statement for next year for UCAS application.

Hi to everyone else that I missed and will catch up soon again

Bogwoppit · 23/10/2010 12:57

chocolatestar · 23/10/2010 20:30

So glad they are all ok!

NeedCoffee · 23/10/2010 21:58

Awww Strawberrys status has given me a kick up the bum to come find you all again. Can't believe I keep losing you all.

Hi to everyone and happy Birthday to all the little piggies.

News here is I'm back at college, busy as usual.

Had a bit of a drama with Rich breaking his jaw when he was drunk, doesn't know whether it was a punch or fall that caused it.

Shannon is at a really lovely stage at the moment that makes me really happy, wish I could have her so lovely for ever but the teenage years are inevitable aren't they.

Which brings me to DD2. We've been looking at high schools for her,she is more interested in what her friends are doing rather than what is available to her and the best choice for her. However, we're really lucky in Hull with a lot of schools being regenerated or rebuilt. I really would prefer her to go to an Academy but she seems to be more comfortable with an established structure so I put her choices down first. There is of course the chance that she won't get any of her choices as I didn't put her catchment area school down as it has a bad repuation.

Anyway, am off to have a look at what you've all been up to and will try to get back on before I lose you all again.

Love to all x
