Welcome to the thread for ladies who's lo's were born on Oct 2007!

Some of us have been here from the begining and some have joined along the way. New ladies always welcome to join in and chat with us, we're a friendly bunch!

:0)

Hey ladies, here's the new thread, had to start it cause the old one is nearly full and Inzi has been in touch to say she can't post on it as it won't load on her phone. She has been booked in for a section on fri!!!

Hope you are all well, off to bed for now

Chocstar - I am so sorry you're feeling so awful Sad we've had a similar thing but not so serious. I'm really hoping it turns a corner so you take your other medication soon xx

chocolatestar · 11/09/2010 21:07

Your site looks great. The products are so, so lovely. You are really talented. Makes me feel especially useless!

LisaLessLumpy · 13/09/2010 13:04

BB4 - Hope your first day back was good, I have every confidence that you will have been fine and enjoyed it :-)

Chocolatestar - Hope you feel better soon.

Muppet - your stuff is fab and the website is great, what a great little enterprise, I hope you have every success with it. Also glad your Canada trip and wedding all went well in the end.

Inzi - Hope you had a fab birthday and are enjoying little George.

I took Ben swimming this morning for the first real time one on one with him. They have a free toddler session on Monday morning at Sam's school so I thought I best make use of it. He did really well he surprised me. I am going to go and put their names on the local pool waiting list for lessons I think to bring them on a bit quicker.

Love to everyone else xx

QueenOfLists · 15/09/2010 22:10

BB4 - how are you coping with your nine-day work marathon? Hope it's going ok and you're not too exhausted.

Choc - how are you feeling? How long do you have to be on antibiotics for? Have you stayed off work?

Muppet - glad you had a good holiday/wedding after all the worry. lol at throwing up in a bin - at least you caught it in something Hmm! - how fast was it revolving Confused? I've been keeping up with littlewhitecottage on fb - I think it's amazing - will have a look at the website when I get the chance. Agree with everything choc said about it!

LLL - fab that Ben did so well with his swimming - lessons sound a good idea. I've not been for ages with Anya - would be more motivated to go for lessons I think rather than just general splash about, but none of our local pools do lessons for under-4s.

Anya is having taster sessions once a week in the preschool room at nursery before she goes in permanently after her birthday. The staff (and I) were expecting her to be a bit quiet and reserved for the first few times - apparently within two minutes on her first day she was the loudest one in the room - she shouted/sang/shrieked/danced/ran round nonstop for hours.

I had my first choir rehearsal this week - loved it! Auditions are after next week's rehearsal - but I figure as I was sitting about 3 feet from the conductor this week Shock, she's already made up her mind so I'm not too stressed about it.

chocolatestar · 16/09/2010 23:06

I am jealous of the choir!

I am off. Dr signed me off for a week. I went in on Wednesday but was sent away again. Glad though as I want to totally clear the infection. Much better now, still gettng sore head though.

No news here. Dareh told me tonight he was a jelicle (what the cats are in Cats) cat. Think I am brainwashing him. He is also into coal right now which is weird. Think it is because of trains.

QueenOfLists · 18/09/2010 20:07

Choc - glad you've got some time off work and that you're feeling better. Are you back in on Monday? Lol at Dareh being into coal.

Anya fell asleep on the sofa this afternoon at 5pm. I moved her into her bed half an hour ago and she barely stirred. She's missed her injection and her tea - what's the betting she wakes up at about 11:30 starving hungry?! I'm sure she's sleeping more in the afternoons since she started her injections. They are working though - I measured her this morning and she's grown an inch in just under a month Shock. Plus I got her feet measured this week and she's gone up from a 5 to a 6+half since April. GrinGrinGrinGrin

babyblue4 · 19/09/2010 00:32

Bother... I added a huge post last night and it didnt save on here AngryAngry

Hello Lovely Ladies Now that RL has gotten in the way, its been so hard to try and post. I have been able to follow everyone elses post on my phone whilst in bed, but I hate typing on that small keyboard.

So I have been back to work for a couple of weeks now and its been ok. Working 9 days straight was long and tiring (especially since my days in uniform are 10 hours long). I have taken a couple of courses (which near bored me to tears but were mandatory). Now I am going to enjoy a weekend off!! Woot Woot! The sad thing is that it feels like I never left! LOL. I am riding with a coach to teach me the ropes again, so that really helps.

Next week is when I will hopefully hear about the job I applied for. The posting was done as of today. Hopefully I will get an interview next week and will start the job by the end of the month. Not sure I mentioned this, but I was able to introduce myself to and speak to the supervisor who is holding the interviews! LOL. I will take every advantage to make sure I get this job!! LOL

So now, here I am... approaching my first day off in over a week, and I am sick as a dog. Have been coming home the last few days and going straight to bed. Thank God for my DD1 who has helped get dinner ready and has taken care of the babies until DH gets home at 8:30. (I took her out to lunch today to show her my appreciation.) Not sure what I have, but have been achy and coughing and my chest feels like an elephant is sitting on it.

Anyway... enough about me!

Dal How are the boys?? Has Miles settled into a favourable routine yet?

Inzi How is George? Is Jane enjoying her new little 'dolly'?? :) Hope your new family is adjusting well.

QOL CONGRATS on Anya's growth!! WOW!! Thats brilliant! Hope it continues for you. Glad Anya seems to be enjoying preschool. Sofia cries each and every morning when DH drops her off at nursery. She then cries every evening when I pick her up and she does not want to leave Confused.

Choc Hope you are feeling better as a sinus infection is not fun at all.

Muppet We also really enjoyed your company during your visit. In fact, DH asks regularily how you and your family are doing. Hope your next visit will be a bit longer Grin so that things wont seem so rushed! Congratulations on your website, its wonderful and very professional. Your items are just gorgeous! You are very talented. I'm sure I will be sending you some fabrics real soon :)

Anyway... off to bed for me. Have a tonne of laundry to do tomorrow as it has been sadly neglected this week. So glad that at least my house is clean (for now) as my cleaning lady was hear today (I LOVE SAYING THAT!! [grin}).

Hello to all I have missed... Strawberry, Floria, Lisa, NC, Eva

LisaLessLumpy · 19/09/2010 13:47

QOL - That is fantastic news about Anya's growth, what a difference in a month that's amazing :)

BB4 - Glad you are settling into the job again, hope you feel better soon x

strawberrylace · 19/09/2010 16:08

hello ladies hope you are all doing well.
just dropping by between washing small baby clothes (figured I needed to start getting ready a bit, so I can see what other things I need) and making party invitations for DS's 3rd birthday (can you believe they're almost 3?)
QOL - that's brilliant that Anya's grown an inch already - must be making the daily injections worthwhile
Choc - glad you decided to take the time off - you need to get fully better so you don't get worse (says she who didn't do this and ended up with pneumonia...)
BB4 - bet you are exhausted after 9 days of work straight - no wonder you're feeling ill
LLL - I'd like to take DS swimming again, but they are doing work on our local pool
Muppet - the littlewhitecottage site is lovely - once the twins have finished with the baby clothes I will send something your way...
Hello to Dal, Inzi, Floria, NC etc etc xx

QueenOfLists · 19/09/2010 20:11

BB4 - glad your marathon 9 days went ok and you're getting back into the swing of things - sorry you're feeling so rubbish on your weekend off, sounds like it might be flu? Crossed fingers for the new job.

Strawberry - how exciting getting baby clothes ready Grin!

FloriaTosca · 20/09/2010 09:45

Sorry sorry sorry...been away an age and now dont have much time ot catch up properly

WWAJC fab news about Anyas growth and about choir...enjoy!
BB4 Well done on the 9x10hrs [opposite of envy emoticon]hope you are feeling better and sincerely hope the news about the job is the best [fingers crossed emoticon]
Strawberry. wow/awww at baby clothes already! How long have you got to go now?
Choc Hope the sinuses are less painful, if only so you can get the gaviscon down again...plain old steam and saline nasal spray is what I use with my rubbish sinuses. Feel better soon.
LLL Alex loves his swimming too...he starts lessons without me in the water with him soon it is amazing how quickly they pick it up...necessary for us too as we are surrounded by rivers and reservoirs.
Muppet your holiday sounds amazing Envy and how lovely you got to have that heart to heart with your brother..I'm sure he really appreciated your presence. Also envy your meet up with BB4.the web site is fab...I have dug out some material from the boxes in the loft and will be sending it soon.
Inzi..I hope George is letting you get decent nights sleep and Jane is still enjoying being a big sister...sooo impressed at your first day coping alone FB status! 2 weels post section and you are wonderwoman!!!
Hi to NC and Eva and anyone else I have missed

busy busy here as we have the birthday party next sunday (yes ALREADY Shock)and I have promised a pirate party...cleaning today and then I've got making his costume, pin the X on the map game to make, hornpipe statues to organise music for, a cannon ball relay from cave over gangplank to pirate ship, pass the booty (parcel)to wrap and a treasure hunt to sort out....

FT - can't wait for the party, it sounds fab! I'm not putting anything like that effort into Anya's Grin.

Inzi - didn't know about the bf but not surprised you stopped, that's amazing how much he's having! Hope the gp sorts you out tomorrow - it's a rather drastic way to lose the baby weight (very effective though!) Glad you're feeling generally ok then - it sounds as though George might be a better sleeper than average if he's feeding so much.

chocolatestar · 20/09/2010 21:39

It's so scary that they are all nearly three! Dareh is excited about his birthday already. He wants a roller coaster. Likes to keep things simple you know.

QOL that really is great news about Anya.

Inzi - sorry to hear you have been so run down. Glad you are not too exhausted though. Just keep resting as much as you can and don't do any housework!

Floria that party sounds amazing. Poor Dareh doesn't get much in the way of a party. No space for people to come over so usually just family. Got a wee bit of time yet though as he is not until the 21st.

Not much to report here. Got a show in a couple of weeks and there is not enough time to rehearse it, especially as I missed a week. I will be glad when it is out of the way. I agreed to direct it way before I was pregnant, seemed like a good idea at the time!

strawberrylace · 21/09/2010 16:25

hello all
just back from our 30 week growth scan, twins seem to be growing well, which is good. they have flipped themselves into a breech position - not a problem as i'm having a c-section, and of course they can flip back - but at least it explains the painfull kicks to my bladder, i thought at least one had moved position but they both have. So funny to see them lying there together. Also my pregnancy diabetes test was ok, so I can carry on eating the twixes then (my current food obsession)

Floria - your party sounds amazing - i think i might translate your games into ones with a Buzz Lightyear theme - which is what Olly wants for his birthday/party. I am pleased as I got him a Buzz from Tescos for free when they were doing the 'double your vouchers' deal. (he doesn't want a Woody, just more Buzz things - he says 'mummy, i like Buzz Lightyear, the babies like Woody')
I have promised him we will make a 'number of sleeps till your birthday' chart tonight, as he's so desperate for it to come!

Choc - not sure how you're going to wrap up a roller coaster very easily!

Inzi - George sounds like he's getting on well - don't blame you for giving up on the BF if he's that much of a milk monster! Hope the doc can sort you out - you need all your energy...

Hello everyone else! hope you are all ok

LisaLessLumpy · 21/09/2010 19:52

Inzi - wow at George :o but I felt your pain at the crying and bleeding nipples, you should be proud that you managed 6 days, I didn't even manage 24 hours with Ben.

Glad all is going well and I hope you feel better soon, I could do with that sickness bug though, I have put on loads of weight over the summer and am now as heavy as I was 2 years ago :( Back on my diet this week though and am feeling very focused after seeing the horrible truth on the scales on monday Grin

FT - Wow at the party plans, we are just having family around for Ben's birthday and he wants a Fireman Sam cake so that is my project for next week. He is also mad on Toy Story and has therefore got lots of TS related pressies :)

Strawberry - 30 weeks already!! that's gone quick, bet you are really excited to meet them Grin

chocolatestar, hope your show goes well.

Hello to everyone else xx

Ben declared his love for someone today Grin an older girl! Was in the car on the way to school and out of the blue he said 'mummy, me love Annabel' (the 5 year old daughter of a friend) :) and when we got to school and we saw them he went all shy and kept hiding behind me Grin so cute :)

My boy is growing up far too fast :)

muppetgirl · 21/09/2010 21:34

QOL ? Fab news on the Choir, I would love to have been that good Smile Wow at Anya?s growth, that?s amazing!

Chocolatestar ? I?m hoping you are feeling a little better and resting!

Babyblue4 ? Not surprised you?re tired wow at 9 days straight! Hope you?re feeling better too ?we?re all ill at the mo aren?t we??

Strawberry ? babyclothes!! Awwwwww. Broody Smile Great news that the twins are okay but I hope they move to a more comfortable place for you. I remember Ollie was uncomfy but to have 2 dancing around your bits and bobs

Floria ? I can?t believe we?re into party time already!! The pirate party sounds fab though, how many do you have coming? Henry?s birthday is 5th Nov and on a fri this year so we?re at the school bonfire night. It?s a fab night as it?s a massive bonfire which he?ll love. Not sure when to do a party for him as he starts at nursery 2 days before ?Ollie?s school one ? and won?t know anyone. Would it be awful to do one a month later?

Inzi ?Glad it?s all going okay and George sounds fantastic! Sorry to hear re your back and tummy troubles but I?m really happy for you that the nights aren?t to disturbed x

LLL- How cute is Ben? Can?t wait to see piccies of the Fireman Sam cake Smile

We?re all fine, Ollie has learned to ride his bike and is fab at it, Hen is a nightmare at night as he wakes and then shouts till I come and get him and bring him into our bed/sleep in with him. Not sure how to get over it as with Ollie we would let him cry it out, we can?t with Hen as he wakes Tobes and Ollie. Any ideas?
Love to all
x

QueenOfLists · 22/09/2010 20:41

Choc - Grin at Dareh wanting a roller coaster - I hope you're not going to disappoint!

Strawberry - so glad your scan went well (Shock at 30 weeks, how that's flown!) - must be amazing to see them playing in there together, how wonderful.

Lisa - good luck with your diet - you did so well last time I'm sure you'll have no problem losing the weight again. Awww at Ben having a crush - that's so sweet.

Emma - A party a month later sounds like a good idea - gives him time to get to know a few people. Well done Ollie riding his bike. Not sure what to suggest with Hen - Anya's just been through a phase of waking in the night, I think she's confused by dreams, but she seems to have settled down again now - how long's Hen been doing it?

Well I got an email today to say I passed my audition! I was very relieved - the audition went well and wasn't as arduous as ones I've had in the past, but there were 3 of us auditioning, all sopranos, and we'd been told there weren't really any more places for sops/altos until some more tenors joined. At best I was expecting to go on a waiting list, so I'm thrilled! Don't know if the other 2 got in - have to wait until next week's rehearsal.

I managed to scare Anya into tears tonight - she was being Princess Holly and turning me into animals with a wave of her magic wand and I did a rather too good impression of a tiger. She ran off screaming and crying, looking terrified Blush.

Mine · 23/09/2010 20:43

Hi everyone,

i've popped in for a read/catch-up but its impossible to do that as this thread moves faster than i can manage!

Just a quick one from me..

muppet, Eren had exactly the same problem as Henry. For months and months the same patturn of 3-4 wake-ups at night. He would insist i lay down with him when he goes to be and wake up several times at night crying for me when he realised i'd gone back to my own bed. The only way to shut him up was to give in. I'm afraid i gave in for far too long. Working full time, i just didn;t have the energy to deal with it, then i just snapped and had enough.

I tried the technique where i sat on the floor right next to his bed when he was going to bed, and promised i would stay there until he fell asleep. This was far better than lying in his bed (because it would put me to sleep!). He still woke up in the night, but i stuck to it and just sat by his bed for 2 nights.
Then i moved to sitting in the middle of the room facing the door so he couldn;t see my face, just my silhouette, This was the 3rd night. He woke up twice again. On the forth night i sat by the door. He woke up once. On the 5th night i told him i was waiting for him on the stairs, and would make a coughing sound every now and again just to reassure him i was still there,. Now 6-8 weeks later, i tuck him into bed and go downstairs, make a cuppa and put my feet up by 8pm!! I NEVER thought that would happen until he was 35 !!

I'm not sure what they call that technique, but i'm sure i saw it on an episode of Supernanny once and was amazed it really worked.

FT - wow at your Pirate Party!! It sounds fab. Alex is going to love it :) I hope you're feeling better too now.

Inzi, it sounds like George is thriving. re bf'ing, i remember that bleeding nipple feeling all to well, even after 3 yrs. Its horrible.

Bigs hugs and waves to everyone else :)

Things with me are not great. I have had possibly one of the worst weeks at work in my life. I have a bi-polar schizophrenic member of staff who i was trying to conduct disciplinary action on at work. He came in to work the next day, collapsed and was bleeding from his back, stopped breathing and was slipping in and out of consciousness. Luckily i managed to resuscitate him and the paramedics came and took him away. He said he tried to commit suicide. And i am responsible for this and i can not seem to make much sense of it. He is in hospital at the moment and i selfishly hope he stays there for a while.

Dalrymps · 25/09/2010 11:17

Just popping in,

Mine! Great to heat from you, don't worry about catching up, not many of us have time to post like we used to anymore...

Good tip for muppet on the technique, I think it's called the 'gradual withdrawal technique'.

That's horrible what happened to you at work and him saying it's your fault too when it's clearly not is awful. Hope the situation gets resolved soon.

Dh has just had a week off so we've had a great time together Smile. we seem to have spent most of the week collecting the toy story figures for Dylans birthday, spent a ridiculous amount Grin

Still having trouble getting an 'evil dr porkchop' ( the pig!) Hmm

Bb4 - hope you've settled back into work ok now, sounds tiring!

Inzi - hope all is still running smoothly [ smile]

Qol - sorry but I laughed out loud at the idea of your tiger impression being too good! Poor Anya, sure she's ok though he he

I've forgotten half I've read now! I'll try pop in more often, I am thinking of you all x

OP posts:
Mine · 25/09/2010 21:15

i think i saw the the pig from Toy Story on sale at Harpers Bazaar shops.... or have you tried getting them on-line from Disney Store? Sometimes they sell stuff on their website that you can;t get in store.

Glad you had a fun week of with DH. Did you do anything nice?

I'm off to make a nice big cup of coffee and cut a HUGH slice of cake!!

Dalrymps · 25/09/2010 22:23

Ah thanks Mine, haven't heard of those stores so will have a look online! Yeah, tried the Disney store and every other store I can think of online, even called some up to check the stock they have in store Grin

If I search on eBay it comes up in America a lot but the sellers know it's rare so are selling it quite expensive with big shipping fees Sad

There seem to be loads of copies etc too, lol, can't believe I'm so obsessed about a plastic pig! If anyone happens to be in a toy shop in the near future could you keep an eye out for me? It's the 6'' figure that comes with coins and a little black hat Smile (think it's classed as a deluxe figure). I don't mean to get it, just let me know if you see one anywhere Smile

Hope you are having a nice weekend, mmm to the cake, I just had a lovely curry and a snickers .

We've just spent the week decorating the kitchen and having family time. Took Dylan for some
New winter boot/shoes today.

Hi to everyone

OP posts:
chocolatestar · 26/09/2010 17:23

Hey ladies, fallen a bit behind again. Hard to keep up when I am at work. Can not wait for this show to be over as it is making me very nervous! Went to the theatre where it will be on and the stage is huge. Directing is worse than performing, I feel so totally exposed and the buck stops with me so it is very scary.

Can I ask ladies who have more than one sproglet if they got a double buggy? Do you think I will need one with Dareh being only three?

Don't think I will be able to get a roller coaster but going to try and get a train set that goes up in the sky if you know what I mean. Fingers crossed. He says he wants a rainbow party - any ideas for that?

Dareh wants his tea so will pop back to catch up proper.

chocolatestar · 26/09/2010 18:34

Oh god I just found out what sil is doing for her dd's birthday. Hiring out the local leisure centre and hiring a bouncy castle. Mum called to warn me as she has already been rubbing it in to my brother who won't be able to afford anything like that and so I am waiting the same. We will be having family over to the house and that is all we can manage.

QueenOfLists · 26/09/2010 19:06

Mine - Shock at the week you've had at work. You must be relieved that you managed to resuscitate him but he's obviously not well. I don't think it's selfish to hope he stays in hospital for a bit - sounds like he needs treatment to me.

Dal - Smile at collecting Toy Story figures for birthday. He'll love them. Have you managed to get the pig yet?

Choc - when's the show? I'm sure it will be amazing. Hiring the local leisure centre sounds overkill to me for a 3rd birthday - surely Dareh would prefer to be at home anyway? I know Anya would - her little brain's going to have enough bombarded at it on her birthday without taking her out familiar surroundings as well.

Had a wonderful time at Alex's party today - FT went to such effort making everything pirate-themed - the games were fab. Trying to organise 8 toddlers to collect 20 cannonballs was truely hysterical Grin. It feels like the birthday season has started now!
