Hope you are all well, off to bed for now

hello moonbells!
As neeps says, this is a great place to hang out - like having a good cuppa (or glass of wine, or beer etc) with friends.

I had a DS in Oct 07, and a DD and DS (twins) in Oct 2010. Oct is an expensive month for us, as me & my DH both have birthdays then too!

LisaLessLumpy · 11/02/2011 17:01

Welcome Moonbells Smile

My Ds 2 is Ben, born Oct 5th 07, also have DS1 Sam who is nearly 6.

neeps, hope Jana is out of hospital soon, so you can be one big happy family again.

Don't know whether I mentioned that I had to get Ben a blood test last week? well I did and I was dreading it, didn't want to put him off needles or doctors, but after all the worry, the numbing cream they gave me was miraculous, he did not feel a thing Grin also tests have come back clear so that's good.

Just had letter through for his pre school boosters though. Anyone else had theirs yet? I'm dreading it, but at least the blood test was a success so he shouldn't be scared of these ones :)

Dalrymps · 11/02/2011 17:52

Welcome Moonbells! This is a lovely thread, we're all a friendly bunchSmile feel free to post as much or as little as you like. Sometimes we have quiet spells but it always picks up again!

I have 2 ds's, Ds1 was born 30th oct 07 and Ds2 born March last yearSmile

Dalrymps your DS was the day after mine then! With him being ELCS I had the choice of 29th or Nov 2nd; I went for earlier as I didn't want to risk going into labour and then having an emergency CS.

Had a pants pregnancy though - hyperemesis - so just the one for us!

strawberrylace I am October too! So is our wedding anniversary... gets a bit crowded!

Might not post much but nice to see how other little ones of the same age are faring as I am a working mum (I always say two fulltime jobs!) so I don't get to do much socialising with other mums sadly, just occasionally see my NCT group.

laptop battery moaning so off to plug in...

Moonbells- ah cool, only a day apart then! Both my ds's were two weeks late and had to be induced, groan!

Inzi- ha ha haGrin what was Jane one about??!

Dylan's latest story is that Batman is going to Tesco to get a whoopee cushion for his cousin??!!

neepsntatties · 12/02/2011 02:46

Inzi that's brilliant! Dareh was watching me change Jana earlier in the week and asked me 'where's the babies penis' so I explained that the baby had a vagina like mummy and he had a penis like daddy because he was a boy etc and he announced in a loud voice just as the nurse was coming in ' daddy's got a big penis'. I nearly wet myself laughing.

Hoping they might turn oxygen off tomorrow, then we are on the home run. I really want home to my little boy.

Dalrymps · 12/02/2011 08:29

He he Neeps, that's a great one! They're so funny at this age.

Glad the home is in sight for you, hope it's not much longer nowSmile

Just waiting for the boys to finish their breakfast. Dh at work this morning, can't wait for him to finish!

Hi to everyone

Hello Moonbells and welcome.
I have just the one DS too (being the old baggage of the group and too ancient, among other reasons, to have another Sad)...he was born on 26th September but like Inzi, I wasn't leaving this group just because they induced me a 38 weeks (pre-eclampsia Hmm)

Neeps...just saw your update on FB, I so hope the Dr is wrong and you will have Jana out of hospital and home in much less than a week. How are Dh and Dareh now? Any news about about the architect?

NC hope things are settling down a bit and you are a little less stressed. How did the meeting with the lawyer go?

LLL So glad the tests came back clear Smile Alex had his preschool boosters a few weeks ago.. said "ouch" with each one but was absolutely fine (more interested in getting a lollipop than crying anyway)..though he did have a bruise on one arm that itched a lot for several days after Hmm

My brothers partner had her 20 wk scan yesterday and they are having a boy...nice pressie for his 40th birthday tomorrow eh?

QueenOfLists · 13/02/2011 20:20

Moonbells - welcome! I have one dd, Anya, born 7 Oct. Hope you enjoy it here Smile

LLL - good news about Ben's blood test and glad it wasn't traumatic. Anya had her jabs a couple of weeks ago - ex-h took her and she cried but was ok soon after. That's it now until age 10 (I think).

FT - I've not actually got my profile up and running on the website yet. I was going to do it tonight but they've rejected the best photo of me for being a bit blurry. (Possibly why it's the best one Biscuit).

Inzi - Grin at Jane - I bet dh is hoping she doesn't repeat that too often!

Anya has hit the 'imaginary monsters' stage. She had bad dreams last night and refuses to sleep in her own bed tonight because of the bears that live in the garden. They're proving to be difficult to get rid of because I'm not allowed to see them or make them go away, and they're only scared of Christopher Robin.

Neeps/NC - thinking about you both x

FloriaTosca · 14/02/2011 11:00

QoL ..oh dear Confused..why arent you allowed to see the bears? I think a life size sketch of Christopher Robin might be on the 'to buy' list if it continues...I hope she gets over it soon. Alex has bad dreams but they are usually when Dh has let him watch Ben10 Angry but he is now at least begining to accept that dreams are not reality and even tells me "I dreamed I was riding a lion last night...Thane didnt like it!"....personally I think Thane would rather Alex ride a lion than keep trying to ride him!Wink

Neeps..how is she today? and how are you coping?

NC..saw the update on the other thread, verySadthat the strain is coming between you. The offer is always open...you all need a bit of time away I think...hope the stress isnt too much...I hope you are taking rescue remedy.

For those of you who didnt see it on FB...Alex excelled himself in the parental mortification stakes this weekend Blush..we went to a bathroom showroom to get some ideas about what we can do with the disaster that is our main bathroom, the sales lady was lovely and was showing us different models on a computerised planner while Alex ran around the (fortunatley) empty show room...I kept looking round doing the "dont touch that" routine between glances at the screen and suddenly he wasnt trying out shower cubicles he was sat on a display toilet trousers round ankles and a grin of self satisfaction on his faceBlushBlushBlush...I buried my head in my hands with a cry of "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"...Dh had to investigate (after he had PHSL!)...fortunately no solids but ...AAAARRRGGHHH!BlushBlushBlushWine

neepsntatties · 14/02/2011 14:41

Sorry to laugh at your humiliation Floria but that made me snort out loud! Brilliant!

She's been off oxygen for 4 hours now so 20 to go before we can escape.

Sorry to hear about the nightmares QOL, dareh does have bad dreams but they tend to be things like he can't find his ice cream.

EvaLongoria · 14/02/2011 20:58

NC hope all is sorted with ex, havent read the latest on the other thread. Good luck with the course, cant think of anything as have brains like mush right now. Are you graduating this year? I am a bit gutted that I am not finishing off with my fellow class but will finish next year with the part-time class.

Neeps Hope Jana is doing much better. Its really awful when you cant do anything for them and need to rely on docs. Hope she stays off oxygen for the remainder of the time so that you guys can go home.

Moonbells Welcome to the thread, these ladies surely are amazing. If I remember correctly I am one of the last who joined as well. I have a DD who was born on 28th Oct but by EMCS and expecting our second next month.

Lisa I probably miss the blood test post again. Glad that he wasnt faced at all. I remember DD not crying at her 1 year Jab, not sure how she'll be at her pre-school one. We actually got her letter today. Will call tomorrow to get an appointment.

Inzi that made me laugh. DD says the funniest things as well. The one at Xmas was DH's sister gave him a lovely watch for his 30th and she was so excited about it because DH never wear a watch. But for the first week after she said out of the blue "Daddy I love your c....k best" that is suppose to be clock. He could not stop laughing and I had to explain what a clock was and what a watch was and now she say she loves his watch. They just have this game where they always ask each other what they like best. Neeps Dareh's one made me laugh as well.

QOL Hope you get some sleep with Anya. Aaliyah also having dreams and it must be weird ones cos she normally very crying and we cant settle her then until we both awake and keep her with us.

Floria that made me laugh. I cant imagine how humiliated you must have felt. Oh the joys of 3 year olds.

NeedCoffee · 14/02/2011 21:06

Hi lovelies :)

Am just popping in so I don't lose you all.

Welcome Moony, I have dd age 10 and Shannon was born 5th Oct :)

FT-That HAS got to be the best story for humiliation when he is olderGrin Thank you for the lovely offer, May come to see you in the half term if you're free, in fact is anyone up for a meet up in the half term?? Not taking rescue remedy yet, keep meaning to get some, will try and remember to look tomorrow.

Neeps, glad DD has been off oxygen for a few hours, fingers crossed it continues so you can go home :)

WWaJC-You had quite a nice pic on your profile on FB one time I think...one where your hair was long and it was a bit windy? Can you use that?
Aww bless Anya at the monsters. Can you have a special teddy what's job can be keeping monsters at bay?

Need to get some sleep, at college tomorrow. Missed last week due to the pox and have to leave early as need to collect dd from school personally as I don't want to take any risks so far. Am still keeping other thread updated with goings on as don't want to drag our thread down. Will try and get back on in the week x

NeedCoffee · 14/02/2011 21:09

x posted Eva. I finish my foundation degree this year if I manage to get my assignments done, not holding my breath though :(

Inzi-missed your comment about Jane, lmao, it cheered me up :)

EvaLongoria · 14/02/2011 21:10

Just an update, sorry that I dont post very regularly but college just kept me so busy. No idea how NC have time to do all her work. I started off being really good but then just get so tired whenever I am busy with an assignment that I need a rest during the day but then ends up falling sleep for the whole day unless I am physically woken up. At night I work until 4-5am because I cant fall asleep. So now its all behind me I can give Aaliyah some TLC cos my poor baby has been so neglected.

She is a bit better now but been sleeping whole day. She got me so worried last night. DH was in Sheffield because he had to attend a Ford course today so they went straight after work. And her temperature just kept on climbing even after doing everything. Because I dont drive and couldnt get to a doc at 9pm they sent out someone to have a look at her. But we decided to keep her home and monitor some more. By 2:30am she had a temp of over 42 degrees but shivering with her teeth clattering. NHS immediately sent ambulance out again and decided with the symptoms of her eyes hurting and throat it was best to get her checked out and cleared of any immediate danger. My FIL collected us at 6am.

Just to update on pregnancy. I had a meeting with the VBAC clinic and they wanted to discuss my options with another c-section or not. My mind was kinda made up to have C-section on 39 weeks which is 11th March. But I wont have any help with DD to take her to nursery and things and last time my wound reopened and was infected and only closed when she was 5 months old. However after discussing it with them they told me that the risk is higher with c-section cos of my wound and potential scar tissue. That they would recommend I try for normal but that I will never be allowed to labour for more than 8 hours and that again only if their is progress. That if I go past my due date which is the 18th they will only allow 5 days after. So for now I have a c-section booked for 23rd March if baby doesnt come before. This just got me all worried again but nothing I can do really. Actually this time around very scared of normal birth but will try so that I can heal quicker.

Any one of you had c-section and then VBAC?

EvaLongoria · 14/02/2011 21:18

NC are you going on to finish a 3rd year at your local Uni. I am doing the Foundation Degree in Computing and suppose to finish this year and then would have started in September with Oxford Brookes straight into their 3rd year for an Honors Degree in Computing Science. Now not sure if I will do that because I am only finishing next year the fees will go up in 2012 and I really need to be working by then. We cant always have everything we want.

NeedCoffee · 14/02/2011 21:56

Eva-Not sure yet, am hoping a local college will do the final year or a final year of something that I can latch onto as the college courses are so much cheaper than uni.

My friend has just had VBAC, she says that she was wishing for a C section during labour but afterwards is so glad that she did it herself. Have you been doing any antenatel classes to help you if you do go into normal labour? It may be worth looking into. Regarding nursery, you'll just have to do what you can, if she misses some days then so be it or how about asking any of the other nursery mums if they can help you out if need be?
I know what you mean about not being able to have everything, I want to do so much and there is just not enough time. I truely hope my kids do not throw away there early years of education, as in, get uni out of the way rsther than doing it like I do. Right, really am off to bed. xx

FloriaTosca · 15/02/2011 17:28

Hi Eva, sorry to hear Aaliyah has been so poorly (I tried to offer some support on Fb but the posts kept disappearing Confused) Glad to hear she is ok now and very glad to hear that most of the hard work for college is over for now. I understand you worries about the birth...I think we all did quite a bit of that at this stage of the proceedings...I'm sure whichever way it happens it will all be just fine...and it is good to know that no matter what you will have your baby by March 23rd, which is a very auspicious date to be born on (who? Me? born on March 23rd? Fancy that!!! Wink)

NC you are most welcome any time. Smile. QOL are you joining us?

FloriaTosca · 15/02/2011 21:16

forgot to say earlier; this mornings conversation with Alex.
Me; " Dont touch that toaster Alex you could be burned or electrocuted!"
Alex; "Electrolighted? Will it turn me to toast?"

It made me smile and for some reason reminded Mum of a conversation with me at the same age when I had driven her mad and she said "If you don't stop that I'll batter you!" only for me to burst into disproportionately hysterical tears ..it took a while for her to understand that I didnt want to be dipped in flour and fried like a fish.

NeedCoffee · 15/02/2011 21:27

LMAO FT. Bless (Alex and the little you) Shannon was adamant that some trousers that looked too big yesterday would indeed fit her. She grabbed them and told me to 'watch and learn!' Also when I picked her up from school the conversation went like this:
S 'The boys and girls really made me cross today'
Me 'Why?'
S 'Cause they where shouting at me'
Me 'aww, why? Was you annoying them?'
S 'Noooo, I was having a poo!!'

ConfusedGrin

FloriaTosca · 15/02/2011 22:27

NC...saw the 'Watch and learn' comment on FB and it is still making me giggleSmile...and the mind boggles at why she was being shouted at while having a poo!!!Grin...that actually reminds me of Alexs' friend who, last week, on being asked what he had done today when he came home from nursery said with great relish " I did a poo. It was massive!!!!" ...... they are just sooooo funny at this age. Long may it continue.

Off to smother my hair in conditioner as Mum has just rung to say Dbs step-d has come home with crawlers...we were with them for dinner on Sunday Confused...I've checked Alex over and cant see anything but my head has been itching ever since I put the phone down [shiver emoticon] Hmm

oh and the fridge/freezer (Dhs 20+yr old one from his 1st house!Shock) has finally given up the ghost....water on the kitchen floor, no internal light etc....so I have just had to transferr everything to the 'spare' fridge and freezer (from my last house)...blooming nuisance with Dh in Germany but at least it saves me having to give it a serious clean and defrost.....and yipee! it looks like a trip to Costco for a lovely shiney new one is on the cards!!!Grin..every cloud eh?

QueenOfLists · 16/02/2011 10:35

Well the bears seem to have been a one-off (thank goodness, if they were too scary for even me to see them!) but Anya's having very disturbed nights. She doesn't always wake up but she'll call out or mumble in her sleep so she's clearly dreaming. I presume it's a phase while her imagination gets going - during the day she's always playing imagination-type games, you know, farmyard animals talking to dolls and all her toys going on pretend picnics/treasure hunts/etc. The bad nights are leaving her really tired during the day, she's exhausted by teatime.

FT - Grin at Alex in the bathroom showroom - that's classic. Love the toaster comment too. Hope you get a lovely new freezer!

Neeps - how are things going today?

Eva - how scary having Aaliyah so poorly in the night - glad she is ok. Can't advise on VBAC, sorry - bet there are loads on mn who have though, have you tried posting in childbirth section?

NC - I remember that profile pic - I went off it but must have been not too bad if you've remembered it! I will go back and have a look... When is half term? I might be around if you're coming over to see FT. And I did try getting one of A's teddies to scare away the bears but they were all too frightened Sad.

NeedCoffee · 16/02/2011 11:00

Ft-Yeay to new fridge :-) Is Costco good? I've always wanted to go but none round here.

QoL-Tut I used your old name the other day, sorry! Aw poor scared teddies. It must be a phase that is common as Shannon has them too. She didn't wake last night thankfully, or if she did, she didn't wake me. Half term is next week, what days are best for the two of you?

Well Shannon is at nursery all day and I should be getting on with college work. Meant ot be writing a business plan. Some people have gone into groups at college but I didn't like to committ to anyone in case I moved early or whatever so am doing it on my own. Have decided to open a 'mobile KFC style takeaway' It's hard to get any enthusiasm for it, so am strugglnig to even start doing it properly. Going to have a pot noodle then start Wink

Hope everyone is well and I see that baby Jana is home, yippee! :)
