knackered - everybody in this house thoroughly overstimulated today - cake in most cases... small girl finally asleep though, thankfully, and soothing glasses of wine quaffed...

hope you all have small sleeping ones. going to get some tea, back shortly

stupendous numbers of cakes, lots of awkward extended family chit chat, and small girls taking stuff off each other it's all downhill from here, isn't it?

can you go and have hot chocolate and read something compulsive but intellectually undemanding? i seem to recall doing something along those lines towards the end of pregnancy: at least it made being awake slightly more pleasant...

JUMP.

It was me. I am a nerd.

Good to see Tink hitting the shops.

stripeywoollenhat · 02/08/2010 22:41

thank god someone is... haven't been in a non-supermarket type shop for years, seemingly.

Yes it is odd when I go into town instead of Sainsbo's. Go in about twice a year, that's it I actually get confused on how the ticket machines work. LOL

I tend to buy stuff online where possible, as a single mum with 2 toddlers, it is my idea of hell to go into town...

stripeywoollenhat · 02/08/2010 22:54

i think that's why it's been so long, tea - dd gets bored/hungry in pushchair by the time we get to town, an who can browse with a toddler shrieking at them

tv, dog? moronic box set? i can also remember losing the reading mojo at the end, suddenly: no interest whatsoever in the identity of the killer...

does he need more to drink, dog? i think slight dehydration can make your breath a bit off - and i imagine it's barely detectable and you are just pregnantly sensitive, you know?

better drag larger after all that cake arse off to bed. 'night all

Well, I am an old bore. So I fnd Agatha Christie novels really really soothing. They remind me on Sunday afternoons waiting for dinner, in front of the fire. Watching a BBC Miss Marple

I guess whatever you find soothing and not too taxing.

DD1 stinks whenever she is about to get a cold. The dentist said it is nasal dripping, getting stuck in manky tonsils.

And on that note....I thnk I'll go to bed!

DD1 is next to me, in all her dragon breath glory, and dd2 is giving dh hell from her cot [hmmm]

DD1 is sick btw, has run a temp for 24 hrs andnhas a very sore throat and rasping cough. Poor thing. She's suffered today.

They smell of smoked plastic fish. I have a wolf like sense of smell, and have given it some thought.

Yuck! I buy Huggies nowadays. Pampers used to give my DD horrendous nappy rash all the time for some reason, with her delicate skin. DS isn't half as sensitive but its habit now to buy Huggies.

Lenni · 03/08/2010 11:05

Dog - do you use detergent when you wash your nappies? I used to and they used to start to smell after a while. Use ecoballs now and wash on 60 (bad, evil person) and no problems. If your washer starts to smell then a cup of white vinegar in the detergent drawer and an empty cycle on 60 works wonders - and cleans off all the limescale. [preens] yeah right!!

Lenni · 03/08/2010 11:06

Oh also - I put nappies in on cold rinse first and then do 60 cycle with ecoballs, maybe it is that that stops the smell??
