Yay for getting the job MissJ - sounds like you've got a fab trip for you all in store. And great to get the opportunity to travel before number 2 arrives, and things get a little more interesting! Don't worry about the cobwebs, I'm used to them!

Have a good holiday Tink Smile

Tree - hope you've recovered from nights.

HKZ - Great to hear from you, sounds like you are having a fantastic trip. Brilliant news on J walking, not so good that he's waking a lot. Is he able to eat solids yet?

Dog - Please do fb me your address. I'm gradually weakening on having a third under immense pressure from DH but I can't see it happening any time soon if at all. I need to get my life back for a while first. Great news on baby turning, I had loads of BH after DS turned, soooo many false labours. Hope you aren't in for the same.

Pat - how are you? Saw on fb you are back home. Is your DH there? Hope things are civil and you manage some more counselling.

No news here really, had 5 days on my own as DH working away and starting to reach breaking point with loneliness. Doesn't help that my PILs also away. DH back at about midnight tonight, so I am finally off duty. I can't complain too much, DS has slept 14 hours straight the last 2 nights Shock I hold little hope for that lasting. Doesn't appear to have napped today though dammit.

Oh, but I did book a trip to Disneyland Paris for DS's birthday Grin well, when the cats away... and it was on a half price offer. Can't wait.

She passed out after shouting for her dummy last night after a few minutes as she was exhausted but she woke again at 5.30am. She came into bed with me and I told her firmly that it wasn't time to get up and she was tired and to go back to sleep and she did after a while and then woke again at a more reasonable time. But after 2 early wake ups and broken sleep I'm bush wacked. I don't think I've ever recovered after having 2 DCs in quick succession and no sleep as my H never let me ever catch up on sleep when we were still together. So a couple of bad nights and I feel sick and an almost drunk feeling. I had to drag myself out of the house today to try and get some fresh air in me. I'm seriously tired and am planning an early night.

She whimpered a couple of times today about her dummy and tonight shouted at me again about it. I needed to hug her and reassure her and stroke her hair again for a while, tell her how proud I am, what a big girl she is etc. Everyday is a little better but it's no where near as pain free as my friends seem to have found it but she has always always had one when tired or very upset to help calm down Sad

I thought about doing the dummy fairy thing when she was younger but I kept putting it off as H wasn't much help and support and I couldn't bear the thought of all this agro with a new born baby to deal with as well. Looking back I'm not sure when would've been a good time, probably age 4 months Confused Nevermind.

Sorry you're sleeping so badly DOG Sad Hope tonight is a better night for you x

missjackson · 09/08/2010 21:18

tea sounds really rough, and you must be so, so knackered. Do you have family that could stay for a couple of days and really take over so you can just sleep, sleep, sleep?

You know you would be very welcome to come and stay for a few days here if you could face the journey. I always think it takes the pressure off when there are other kids to play with.

dog don't blame you for being antisocial atm, I am sure the last thing you feel like is dragging yourself out. Trust your instincts and hibernate - I am sure all your friends will be there for you when you crawl out in a couple of months with the little one!

gosh Lenni, well done for surviving 5 days, I didn't realise! Did see the amazing sleep pattern on fb though, Envy! Daytime naps are my saving grace atm though as I am sleeping too - 2 hours today, lush Smile. Sorry tea, I am sure you could do with a nap - any chance of setting DD up with a movie in your bedroom and napping with DS? I seem to remember dog setting up movie night once for her lot!

Hi all.

Am recovered from the nights I think, although had a very tough last night. Ate half a twix and some crisps in the whole 12 hours, so suffered from headache and sore wee today Blush Poor Dh had a bit of a battle with H too, she was up about 5 times between 10 and 2, and then up at 6 for the day. DH dropped her at nanna's at 7 and went to work.

Was glad to get home, stayed up till noon but then past out. Woke up at 6.30 to see dh in from work and picking dd2 up. He was putting her in her cot as she fell asleep on way home. She has slept since, so when she wakes us, about 11 I predict, I think I'll be pulling a late night!!

MissJ!! Amazing news, congratulations! What an amazing thing to do with your family, am Envy but delighted for you. Would kill to take the dd's around a country. Ooooh!!! How fab.

Big sympathy to you Tea. You must be worn out. I really hope tonight goes better for you.

Great news on Disney Lenni. How excting!! WHen you going? Are you staying in one of the hotels?

Wishing you sleep sleep sleep Dog. I seem to remember using gallons of rescue remedy and night calms.

Did you have a good party HKZ?

Guess Tink is lving the good life on holiday.

DH was back at work today. He only has Aug bank holiday off, until Dec 23rd. I feel so sad for all of us. Fingers crossed for good GCSE grades, he used a week of holidays to sit them. I hope he does, for his own and all his sakes. Have been playing with the numbers to see if he left work now, could we afford in any way shape or form to put him through a proper access taught course starting in sept, instead of the distance course online. The answer is no Sad yet I don't see how we can fit his online study into our family life and his 12 hours days either!!
Pray dd2 starts to settle and sleep a bt more I guess. We'll plough through hopefully.

HUgs to all.

Awww Dog,
what a fab way to spend the evening. Good for morale! I remember when I had a panic attack we hadn't enough babygrows, so I went to Matalan and Sainsbury and bought 12. I loved them all Grin I spent a long time pre-washing and folding them, and then spent a long time bringing myself to send them to the charity shop totally unused Blush
I will never ever part with the stuff under the bed though.

Have spent to eve making a work related statement for my own records. Not a great way to spend the evening. But important. Ho hum.

I am thinking of trying to pick up a few extra shft, if possible, and then seeing if DH can take few days unpaid leave. His industry are generally totally unable to accept the concept of reduced hours, or the need to be somewhere else. He gets no contract sick pay for example.
But if I earn a few extra quid, they might let him havea few days off. My extra will cover it. So fingers crossed everyone!!

OMG yes he is!!!!

Oh they'll faint with new-fangled working conditon shock if he asks for that Grin

Still though, if he is entitled to it, I think we'll do that! We have to be so so so carefull. His industry will always be first n, first out - or face fits, stay in, face doesn't, off you go. So I'm always worried about him getting a name and getting bumped out.
Like the last place Sad. The time before that the whole place closed, but last June it was just him Sad

It's a bugger.

DO you like colour on the kids DOg, look at this Grin I still remember aching for those Frugi wrap over vests. You shoudl get a load Grin

Miss J - My parents are in their late sixties and have various health related issues, so they cannot help me. I can't think of anyone who could look after both of them for me in all honesty. However I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to visit Smile I do have a lovely tent (no idea what the set up is at yours Confused I think my sleep depirved brain isn't functioning)

DD woke last night at 11.45pm very distraught for her dummy, I took her out of her bedroom, so she wouldn't wake DS and calmed her down in the hall with hugs etc. After 10 minutes or so I popped her back to bed, she woke a little later this morning, which was good. Still feel exhausted. Off to spend the day with a friend I grew up at Sunday School with. Haven't seen her for years, hopefully it'll be a good day, despite the weather being very drab here.

DOG - I cannot get rid of any of my tiny baby clothes either and there's not a cats chance of me having another baby with no H anymore. Bless you

Tree - hope you you can somehow work something out with your H, studying, days off etc Sad

missjackson · 10/08/2010 10:09

tea facebook me and let's arrange something then! It would be great fun. My place is only small but we are in the middle of the Brecon Beacons and it's beautiful - it's basically like a holiday cottage!

dog teeny tiny baby clothes, too cute - I can't wait to start getting stuff ready for mine but feels like such a long way off. I have also just remembered the horrific rash I got last time around - if that happens in the middle of my job, it's not going to be much fun!

tree fingers crossed something works out - just a couple of days here and there would make all the difference I'm sure. Remind me what DH does again? If he's going to leave the industry anyway, then there is not much to lose by insisting on your rights for the parental leave thing that dog linked to.

Must go and buy breakfast before I faint.

Hello everyone.

I'm drowning in dirty clothes and clean unironed clothes. And my house looks like a tudent squat. I've run out of rooms to sit in!!

MissJ - dh is a cnc machinist, he makes metal into a different shape. That's all I know HmmGrin It's apprentice level and not well paid [£9.50, though was £14 before all the crap] Mind you, I had to study forever and carry huge sacks of stress, for a few qud more. So maybe he is wiser Confused.

Looked on the Aussie skills list today. Dh and I are both 'wanted'. If it wasn't for my mum I'd go. Although dd's would have aussie accents......maybe in a few years..Grin

Would you go and help Tree and Miss J if closer DOG Wink

DD still grumpy about dummy, I'm sure it wasn't as bad tonight though Hmm

stripeywoollenhat · 10/08/2010 22:03

wish someone would come round here and clean up, it's vile. but c has just gone to sleep after howling for the evening, followed by a great big vomit.... such a shite evening after a small-scale rubbish day. ah well, these things happen. but we have visitors tomorrow and i'm out in the morning so i hope they are forbearing sort.

tea, sure dd will get her head around the rehoming of the dummy in the next few days

tree, it would be disturbing to have children with aussie accents, wouldn't it? going to be weird, i think, for c's dad - he's got a northern english accent and c is bound to wind up with a dublin accent... your evil links for dog have wreaked further havoc with credit cards here...

hope all well with everybody

H is asleep, and we had a takeaway pizza to celebrate, and because we were all too frazzled to even go in the kitchen. Let alone face the empty fridge.

So glad you are OK Dog. Hells Bells. Got stuck in holiday traffic myself today, after the car boot I tootled along to with H [dd1 is still away]
Rather than hating the tourists, I feel such pity for them. ALl those lines of traffic, to not be able to park and then spend £15 trying to win a 50p teddy. Not great.

That website is lethal isn't it Stripey? Sorry! Have to say an Irish accent has to be more attractive than a northern, and I speak as the only northern/english accent in an entire Irish family Grin

Had a good look at H in her Greenbaby outfit today. Retro styleee blue tunic with butterlies and leggings. Actually, its a grower. I take it all back, the cotton seems better for a wash or 10, thicker and softer. SHe looks really dinky in it.

We can now say [clearly]
Mummy
Daddy
Jessie
Heyooow [Hellow]
Bye-Bye
Bub-berls [bubbles]
Nen-nen [dummy Confused]

Plus miow, oof-oof, the odd baaaar and some other gobbledeygook that I can usually understand. Strangely enough. We also have some very funky dance moves I must try get on FB, mainly based on the Haka. She has the full on wide stance, knees bent thing going on. No tounge wriggling [yet]

You?
