Evening.

I thnk I'm getting dd1's 'thing' Got a sore throat and headache and bone ache. SOoooo tired! DD1 is a bit better actually, although her voice is all but gone. She has managed the garden centre for a bowl of icecream and then the station to see the Hogwarts Express. So at least enjoying some time with Daddy. Thanks for asking Books and hoping you and yours well?

Playroom has had a coat of undercoat. Ceiling to do, and then the whole lots again. Maybe twice. Then skirting board and flooring

Was hoping for cork, as it's warma and quiet but more practical than carpet. They ahve the patio doors so I anticipate the outdoors in effect DH measured up and the whole thing is only 10sqm, so I might just go for it.
It's so small! I hope it works out ok. I hope they use it.

Good going on the decorating, come do ours too??

Hope you got the scan MissJ.

Dog - all good advice on the washer. I think hot hot hot wash, half a bag of soda crystals and perhaps some bicaarb of soda. I need to do the same actually. Bt whiffy here too.

tinktellyaddict · 03/08/2010 22:28

Hopefully the H-bomb is settling a bit now. And we can eat. Yay!

tinktellyaddict · 04/08/2010 09:18

morning

very dark here

missjackson · 04/08/2010 10:10

Hi all. Yey, finally had the scan and all is fine! Phew. Massively relieved. Had to wait around all day Monday at the hospital (decided to chance it with GP for a freebie), and then finally they said I had to come back the next day! So sort of wished I had spent the money instead but Cardiff is a long way. Anyway, Tuesday morning it all came together very quickly, and I got to see the little blob. Dates spot on, so 9 weeks tomorrow. Managed not to cry (was so tearful all day Monday but with all the waiting, my tears seemed to dry up! I am now an expert on the cheaper end of the women's magazines - Bella, Chat, Just Look etc etc...who actually reads that crap?!)

stripey glad to hear things better with C - did you see that sleep programme on ch4 last night? I thought it was pretty damn crap - but anyway, the upshot seemed to be that as long as consistently stuck to some sort of plan, they would sleep better.

dog oh I remember that stage so well, totally unable to concentrate on anything. Cleaning was always a good option. And MN of course! Are you doing home birth with pool again? How exciting!

tea camping sounds like fun.. my Mum used to fold our duvets in half width-wise and then sew up the sides with loose stitches she could easily undo afterwards - bingo, a homemade sleeping bag!

tree belt-tightening now sounds a good idea - otherwise having your income halved all at once will be a big shock. Playroom sounds fab. Love your recent pics on fb, garden looks brilliant and DDs as gorgeous as always.

Sounds like some good shopping tink - I need to sell some parenting books on ebay because I am sort of embarrassed to have so many on the shelves - 3 in a bed etc!

Must try to do some cleaning today but am thinking of getting someone in to do a 'deep clean'- it's just impossible to get on top of in this place I find - the spiders just move straight back in. And def need someone to do my oven - it's disgusting. Am off to organise now.

OOOo great news MissJ. Many congratulations

Am ok DOg, thankyou. Feeling better, dh has let me lie in till 10 each day and I am feeling human. I think I was very tired you know. I don't feel crabby and angry, which I had sort of got used to, and sort of thought was just me!

Festival sounds nice.

Nearly work time for me at the weeken, then dh back, and then that's it. No more time together really. Until I get some weekends off again. Maybe September/October time. The weekends are great, they affect the girls less, and bring in a bit more money. I like the place at weekend too, less stress. But dh and I suffer.

Oh well, can't have everything and it has to be done.

PatTheHammer · 04/08/2010 21:27

Aha, here I find you

Hope all well, just bookmarking my place as I am still at my brothers at the moment avoiding taking a break from my problems and supporting my mum, who just got home from her biopsy.

Not good news, Primary Biliary cirrosis; which is a chronic autoimmune condition and the liklihood is that she will need a transplant in a few years. And the best bit is that it is genetic, hurrah! So looking into getting me and my sister tested as it is inherited through females.

The important thing is that she is better for now and symptomless whilst she takes about 12 steroid tablets a day

Anyhow.............Yay for scan MissJ and Yay for no more BF 120

Also lots of other happy stuff from others, Tink your house sounds like it is coming on and Lenni and Books enjoying the hols.

Dog.......not long now, Eeek!

Moosey- I guess you are off on travels

Tree- sorry J is poorly

So, Z has suddenly developed loads and loads of words in the last few weeks which is fantastic. Sadly he sayd 'Daddy' non-stop at the moment as I think he really misses him. He loves a bit of rough and tumble with my brother at the moment but is fighting constantly with my nephew (there is 3 mths between then). they indulged on some full-on baby wrestling tonight so interesting to see what the atmosphere will be like tomorrow.

DH has been told to only phone to speak to the kids, he doesn't like it but, well tough shit really!

Off to the beach tomorrow if the weather holds.

take care x

teaandcakeplease · 04/08/2010 22:11

Lovely wallpaper Tink. Very nice.

Scan sounded very cute Miss J. Hooray!

DOG - festival sounded fab

Tree - hearing about your life makes me feel exhausted and I'm not even you! No weekends off until Sept? That is pretty full on

Pat - so sorry about everything you're going through right now with your H and your mum Just to reiterate what some of us said on previous thread, feel free to post on here anytime, we'd all love to get alongside you at this awful time ((hugs))

I've just watched on 4OD Who Knows Best, Can't Sleep Kids. Very interesting. Puts my problems into perpective with wanting to get rid of DD's dummy now. She doesn't wake for it but I keep thinking it's time to get rid of it. She only has it for naps.

I've read more today and now tonight, I have quietly lurked but have promptly forgotten it all on writing a reply So sorry if I've missed anyone.

Lenni · 04/08/2010 22:17

Oh Pat, that is sad news about your Mum. Not what you need at the moment either, I hope she recovers quickly from the biopsy and things improve with DH. Do you have more counselling booked? Any plans yet on what you will do? I hope you are getting some space from it all, although must be horrid to have the kids asking after him. Lots of love, have been thinking of you all the time. Look after yourself.

MissJ am squirming with excitement! Wonderful news! Am counting the weeks off to visiting my Mum and you, that is my most exciting week of the hols!

Books - glad your DH has come round to the idea of the kids being hard work! Whay did it take him so long?! To be fair my DH realises they are bloody hard work but he doesn't acknowledge it to me nearly enough for my liking.

Dog - D'you want to borrow my homeopathic thingy again? Let me know and can post!

DH away from tomorrow until Monday and I've got the joyeous VAT return to do in his absence, what fun. I get all the great jobs around here I'll tell you.

treedelivery · 04/08/2010 23:13

Oh Pat What hard times you have at the moment. I sort of thought the counselling had gone ok, but I must have got that wrong. I am very sorry to hear of your mum, but of course it's great she is home.

I am off in the week though, so it isn't like I'm pulling 7 day weeks. Yet

I had forgotten to say yay to you 120, I'm glad your bfng career has come to such a happy close. A good innings, I think we'll all agree

I made the 120 brownies, when H was having her 7 till nighttme sleep. I undercooked them. Still much too runny after a fridge session. So I stuck them back in for 10 mins. We'll see.
H now up for her nighttime til late romps around my bed DD1 awake coughing, dh putting skrting boards on.

Great wall paper tink

Hello to all

120 · 05/08/2010 08:14

Hi all, very busy at the mo with doing up flat to move, work full on, kids full on, house hunting full on.

Pat I am very sorry to hear about your mum. We are here if you need us. Sorry too about your situation with DH too, hope it resolves quickly.

MJ fab news on the scan!

Tree, sorry to hear H still romping, her antics do make me smile though! If you do the brownies quite deep, or double or triple the recipe, you need to cook them more like 25 to 28 mins. When I do them too runny, I just have them Gu style, heated with ice cream for pudding.

Hello Lenni, Tea, Books, Tink, Stripey and DOG. Hope I haven't missed anyone!

teaandcakeplease · 05/08/2010 10:40

DOG you've made discussion of the day! How funny are your DCs reanacting the circus act? Dangerous but funny

treedelivery · 05/08/2010 13:35

Hi

I am about to go find an eco bakery, apparently there is one in a village about 5 miles away. The lady bakes on Thursday and Sat, and sells from 2pm. There is talk of rubharb muffins

put the brownies back in for 10 mins.. Just had one out of the frdge, perfect fudgey inside crunchy cake outside. Nom nom! H-bomb had some too.

Sounds busy 120, good luck with it all.

tinktellyaddict · 05/08/2010 15:44

afternoon

my mum has gone she has done so well just paper on other walls to paint
has painted a small bit looks great

received my tops from next today really nice taking on holiday

tree - enjoy bakery

pat - sorry for troubles with partner and mum!!

treedelivery · 05/08/2010 19:07

Got my bread. Little shope is sooooo cute. It's in her garden, in a sort of very large shed, with aga and general loveliness.
Bread nice, but not actually to die for. Should have gone for muffins. Trouble was, I'd just had the brownies, so was feeling all sugard out.

Am tred tired tired. Yawn. So wish the week wouldn't pass too. How will we all manage without dh havng time off till Christmas? It's been so so sos os ososososo nice having someone about to take up the slack at breakfast. I've been able to actually put some face cream on and look in my wardrobe to choose clothes and other shockers like that!

Got a message from the local college to say the access course starts soon if he'd liek to sign up. If only we could afford for himt o do that. He could be at home so much more, do 2.5 days in college, and study and get a part time supermarket job or something.

No such luck. 50 hr weeks, plus distance studying of about 15-20 hrs a week. Should be fun. Be worth it.

teaandcakeplease · 05/08/2010 21:28

Tough times with my DD. Started a thread but tumbleweed, despite bumping.

Tricky day very tricky. Need to go and eat.
