Hey, anyone else got a non-walking child? Or is DS the only one?

I wrote on another thread that my mum walked at 18mo - and her mum was told by someone, "Never mind, she probably won't be a cripple"

DS is hilarious - can stand happily (as long as he's occupied by tower-building - when he realises he's standing up, he sits down!), cruise, etc - just won't let go and walk!

YG - really hope DD's bottom's better soon. How is your bosom? (Not sure how to put that...!).

TracyK, yes, DS is fine (for now - I think that he'll probably have another temp spike when his next teeth come through ).

ds on holiday for the week now - dh in charge and I'm at work - wonder how he's doing? he gave ds 5 oz of milk for lunch. hmmm - didn't he know ds doesn't live on milk alone now??

LOL! DH sometimes does totally bizarre things with DS - I know he doesn't listen to me at all!

have been still posting on the old thread. hard to keep up today. tracyk my dp still tends to give dd3 just milk when he looks after her. she doesn't even like milk really.

can't really comment on the bosoms so hope am not offending any posters by ignoring Very Important Bosom Talk

Glad to hear it's straightforward, YG - DS had a half-hearted suck for a nanosecond this morning, then stuck his bum in the air and looked at me between his legs, giggling like a loon! He had a much longer feed yesterday morning - will offer till he pats me patronisingly, like he does if I offer in the evening now - makes me laugh!

Maybe he was thirsty yesterday morning Hunker - it was much hotter then (well here anyway).
He sounds a cheeky monkey!
I don't know what ds thinks of boobies now - he occasionally pulls my top down and peers down my cleavage!!

Yes, could've been thirsty - who knows with these little blighters? The word cheeky was invented to describe DS... He's SO funny

dh and I just spent all weekend laughing at ds - they are at such a cute age just now!

I know! DH keeps saying "I think this is my favourite age" about DS...it just gets better!

HM - this age is just so cute I'm wondering how to feel about bump sometimes...I know it'll be all fine but it is hard imagining two at the moment.

Yes, hard to imagine two, isn't it? I still have to remind myself I'm pg sometimes - very odd as I thought of nothing else when pg with DS!

He's learning so fast - today he has learnt "nappy" - he pats it when I ask where it is, what a cow says (his "moo" is hilarious!) and the sign for "fish". Wonder what he'll learn tomorrow?!

Hi LJ - funny how adept at cruising they get - DS can run as long as he's holding onto the sofa... Seems more trouble than it's worth - letting go looks as though it would be simpler.

ds likes to stand up by the washing machine and turn all the knobs

Oh, yes! DS also has a button/knob fixation - he LOVES plugs and turned the grill on the other day too!

He always wants to go in the kitchen and check out other people's washing machines too...!

ds - sticks his head IN the w/machine , turns temp knob, takes out washing , turns cooker on - we switch off @ the wall- climb d/room chair onto d/room table !
shuts himslf in/out our whole hse is his personel ball pit ,
the idea of coping with 1 of these AND being 6 mths pg !!??? madness

No knob fetish here - shoe fetish though. ds will not let us put his shoes on - HE must do it. He will sit for ages trying to get his foot in it and won't accept any help. He also loves putting dh shoes on and tries to walk. silly arse!

am giggling at the knob fetishes. is it just me who read those posts the wrong way. dd2 also deprograms the washing machine. luckily she found us the child lock on it we hadn't known existed (we eventually worked out why we couldn't make it work after she'd been fiddling). so now we can lock it during cycles, hurrah.

ADs - anti-depressants.

dolbear i think all mums do the been there done that thing. my friend with 3 boys told me recently that she and other mums of boys thought mothers of girls weren't really experiencing parenthood!

eh? thats a very odd thing 2 say , I was v please with a boy mind , another version of me running around WAY to scary , thanx re AD's
don't mind the w/machine , its the fact that he can turn our oven knob so instead of cooking we have been grilling or v/vera , has caused some v funny looking food !

Fennel - re: having boys - I sometimes sneakily think that!! Only because people we know with girls have such lovely quiet little things, that can actually sit still for more than a couple of minutes, and like doing things like painting and drawing!

I know - it's probably all a myth and they're absolute terrors when we don't see them And if we were ever going to have a third (WHICH WE'RE NOT) I'd want another boy! Got quite clucky last weekend seeing a Mum with a teeny tiny newborn in a park - so young he had an 'old' face, if you know what I mean!

The fact dd was supposed to be visiting her new nursery this morning completely excaped me, so I had tochnage the times again. I'm sure they musn't be looking forward to this absolutely barking new mother!
