Len, that's an interesting q - Cbt has been a spare wheel for the last 30 years or so, this one will probably be a bit more powerful.

DavidHameron · 11/05/2010 21:47

Well done. Just pissing on the fence post for later...

Hoping Vince Cable has seen sense and rejoined the Labour Party.

MrJustAbout · 11/05/2010 21:47

None of the lib dem appointees within the cabinet will be announced until they know that the lib dems have said yes ... so no news about Clegg, Cable etc.

Heathcliffscathy · 11/05/2010 21:48

god i know you all think i'm a closet tory and you couldn't be further from the truth, but i have to confess to liking hague. he is superbright, and funny. unlike cameron or (slytherin) osborne.

MrJustAbout · 11/05/2010 21:48

I think 5-10 MPs will desert - enough to keep a majority anyway.

Heathcliffscathy · 11/05/2010 21:49

what i wouldn't give to be at libdem hq tonight justa

Interestingly enough the liberals are actually closer to the Conservatives in Germany. They are more about leaner government, less intervention, more help for businesses.

Heathcliffscathy · 11/05/2010 21:49

lenin, honestly, i think it was the other way round.

jennylindinha · 11/05/2010 21:49

marking my place whilst swigging back the booze to try and drown out the past few hours. Like the title but shouldn't it be Lefties 8 tho?

Well done! Although I think we're thread 8... not that it matters, we can skip to 9 next time

Looks like Grayling isn't getting Home Sec (according to Sky News) reckon that will go Lib Dem?

Heathcliffscathy · 11/05/2010 21:50

mdmelindt: but trident/europe/immigration/internationalism/electoral reform/transparent taxation, increased tax all massively non right wing.

taffetacat · 11/05/2010 21:51

Hague is more acceptable than Hamshine but not keen on his nasally telephone voice.

Winch Cable come to us you know you want to

Ewe · 11/05/2010 21:51

Anyone thinking of going to Labour Party conference?

Heathcliffscathy · 11/05/2010 21:51

alastair campbell (who i also like despite his utter snakishness) has gone to the pub.

Quattrocento · 11/05/2010 21:51

I agree with sophable. Two parties both polarised has to be bad for the country. Voted Libdem and can see some real good coming out of all this.

Like it or not, the economy is totally fucked and we do need to deal with that. And the Libdems will curb the worst of the Tory excesses.

If I am a closet Tory - I've been a long time in that there closet and suffering from the worst case of denial in history.

HerHonesty · 11/05/2010 21:52

=i thougth we'd stick to lefties 7 as in lefties heaven. no?

MmeLindt · 11/05/2010 21:52

Sophable
Did you see Mandy's interview just after Gordon's resignation? He pretty much stated that the Lib Dems were not really interested in a coalition and were talking to them to put pressure on the Tories. Could just be Slimy Mandy though.
