Watch out folks, you heard it here first. My husband is a senior economist and is seriously seriously worried about what's about to happen. We need to do all we can to avert a major economical disaster. GB has got us here, do not let him take us further into crisis.

Bullshit.

What a stupid troll post.

MrsLiberalTheWaitress · 05/05/2010 21:35

AARRGGGHHH!!!! Shut up with all the scare tactics!! Very bad form.

sanfairyann · 05/05/2010 21:36

oooh sorry bit confused here - weren't there a whole lot of riots while the tories were in power? or does it not count if it doesn't happen in the home counties?

tiredlady · 05/05/2010 21:36

Your husband can predict rioting?

How very clever...

ShowOfHands · 05/05/2010 21:36

Is election fatigue something I can have a tablet for?

animula · 05/05/2010 21:37

Oddly enough, I have 3 economist friends, who all say the exact opposite.

Guess the future is still debateable land.

Though definite 9/10 for alarmist thread OP.

policywonk · 05/05/2010 21:37

'Senior economists' have been full of complete bullshit for the last few years.

sanfairyann · 05/05/2010 21:37

also please tell your husband he needs to check up on the meaning of 'economical'

MaryMotherOfManchego · 05/05/2010 21:37

That's cos her husband is a kaiser chief.

SenoraPostrophe · 05/05/2010 21:38

oh, hardly. we have nothing like the debt greece has.

gb didn't get us here on his own: it was thatcher who deregulated the city. cuts as deep as the tories are proposing will bring their own problems (unemployment being a big one).

Lilyloo · 05/05/2010 21:38

FGS

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 05/05/2010 21:38

Daftpunk, put your proper name on.

tiredlady · 05/05/2010 21:38

MMM

animula · 05/05/2010 21:38

Do I have permission to say that my dh is a top physicist and he says that if DC gets in a large black hole will appear in central London, sucking us all to the other side of the universe and elongating us all in the process?

CanNeverDecide · 05/05/2010 21:39

Actually, being serious that it's a real concern. Certainly not scare tactics. And I don't live in the home counties and never have.

The problem in Greece is on the brink of spreading to other countries in the EU, that's a fact. Our budget deficit is currently under reported (covered up) and is actually much closer to 12%, which is the level Greece is at. Our country could very well catch Greece's cold, very very easily.

Any more spending will push us over the edge.

I am not making any of this up, google it, ask friends etc. and you'll find out it's true.

The world is in a situation right now that it hasn't really been in before. Everything is very unpredictable.

are you secretly a torie politician..... no offence.... just wondered it on your other thread earlier as it kinda seemed odd what you were saying.

Dont mean to cause offence.

DuelingFanjo · 05/05/2010 21:40

oh my god, no, please. Oh no. What am I going to do? Will my home be safe. OP, please... what can I do? Shall I go and tell my neighbours because I am really scared now? Oh no! Shit! Shit! Shit! I am freaking out. Riots? real riots? Oh please what do you think i should do now. Tell me who to vote for to stop this from happening because I am a mass of anxiety about this and I can't let this happen, help me ... please for the love of God hlep us all.

expatinscotland · 05/05/2010 21:40

FFS.

ShowOfHands · 05/05/2010 21:40

My DH is a police officer and if DC gets in they're going to replace him with a cyborg. Senior officers will be based upon Arnold Schwarzenenenenggenener circa The Terminator period. DH will be a bit more Johnny 5 Is Alive.

poorbuthappy · 05/05/2010 21:40

Will Dr who turn up and rescue us? Cos that would be something to look forward to...

ahundredtimes · 05/05/2010 21:41

My husband is a professional rioter, and he says that if Labour / LIb Dem get in he thinks there will be less opportunity to start fires on the streets. And all his arsonist friends agree with him.

policywonk · 05/05/2010 21:42

LOL animula

Ex-DP is a computer developer and he says that if DC gets in all the computer code in the UK will rise up and throttle us.

CanNeverDecide · 05/05/2010 21:42

Lol, not a Tory politican, no!

Wow, the sarcasm, guys. It's cutting me.

Vote for who you want, support who you want. I don't care. But anyone and everyone should ALWAYS keep an open mind and keep looking around them. That's something I get the sense a lot of MNers don't do.

Our budget deficit isn't underreported - it's in the papers today. But a deficit is not the same as debt - "I am not making any of this up, google it, ask friends etc. and you'll find out it's true."

MaryMotherOfManchego · 05/05/2010 21:43

Right.

Off ot Sainsburys to panic buy bread and milk.
