If you are considering voting for someone else, or not voting at all?

OP posts:

Read it with parody in mind it works better. Although it’s a fair few posts so a commitment to the cause.

Yes I think it’s the only way.

Reform are on a downward trend, they’ve hit their ceiling and will not go any higher. Many of their supporters also won’t be around come 2029, and younger people coming of age will all be voting majority left.

It’s really not looking good for your side of the political spectrum, so sorry! 🤗

The delusions are strong with this one.

CopperWhite · 30/10/2025 17:54

Sanction Israel and pay some attention to the human rights abuses and war crimes committed by people we call allies.

MaturingCheeseball · 30/10/2025 17:55

I dunno… look what happened in Wales with Reform coming second.

In other places if Reform/Cons split the vote and people vote tactically, then it could work out well for Libs/Greens. Plus their odd bedfellows the Gaza Independents/Islam MPs. Then there’s SNP who will retake Scotland and Welsh Nationalists.

loulouljh · 30/10/2025 17:56

They can't do anything. I certainly did not vote for them and I am simply disgusted by the lot of them. Truly awful. Useless. Without morals. Liars.

BrinkWomanship · 30/10/2025 18:02

Prioritise growth above all. The rest of the problems will feel less acute.
Overhaul the civil service to increase efficiency and effectiveness. I’m tired of my tax money being thrown into a black hole with no value for anyone.
Tackle two tier policing and the rise of antisemitism.
Address illegal immigration.
Reinforce women = adult human female.

That’s probably enough for one term - because that’s all they’re going to get.

ItsFridayIminLoveJS · 30/10/2025 18:03

Don't think labour would ever change my mind.
Just lies and false promises... over and over and over.
The most unintelligent political party ever.

That’s what I’m basing it on. If Labour don’t manage to get a handle on the current zeitgeist then the left will band together and form a coalition that will keep the Nazis out of power. We did it in France and we will do it here too.

BunfightBetty · 30/10/2025 18:06

I'm a centre left voter, but didn't vote for Labour in the last election because of their eagerness to throw women under the bus. For me to vote for them I'd have to see more positive action to show that they are committed to women's rights, and they'd have to start taking stimulus measures to grow the economy, to improve GDP and productivity, and attract investment, rather than do their best to stifle it.

Who is “we”?

MaturingCheeseball · 30/10/2025 18:11

@Swiftasthewind - do you like the policies of the Gaza MPs or those who will be standing as YourMuslim MPs?

Meadowfinch · 30/10/2025 18:19

Stop lying.

Fire RR & appoint a competent chancellor

Limit WFP to those with incomes of less than the level of the minimum wage.

Cut back the Motability scheme, it is massively abused.

Remove all asylum seekers from hotels and put them in ex-military camps with limited access to local towns. Speed up processing for everyones' sake.

Withdraw ILR from every first generation immigrant convicted of violence, drug dealing or trafficking, slavery, fraud, fire arms or sexual offences or any other crime given a custodial sentence of more than 5 years.

Cancel HS2 - it is terrible value. Return properties to those who want them back.

Cancel the farm tax for working family farms.

Consider an extra 1p or 2p on income tax.

MissyB1 · 30/10/2025 18:23

Swiftasthewind · 30/10/2025 10:26

Precisely. Ban X, reintroduce the Islamophobia legislation and open secure and effective routes for refugees from Gaza. Do what you were voted in to do and ignore the clowns at GB News who will always pitch a fit no matter what you do. After 14 years of Tory austerity the country is crying out for a real left wing government to bring grown up policies to the table.

This!! 👆 Starmer needs to remember it’s the Labour Party not the Tories mark 2 or Reform lite party ffs! Trouble is he says whatever he thinks people want to hear that day. He’s a huge disappointment, but then again I’ve always been suspicious of him, you can’t trust a backstabber!

reversegear · 30/10/2025 18:28

admit to being useless and let us get on with our lives.

ThisLemonHare · 30/10/2025 18:33

If they took the wind out of Reform's sails by getting a tangible grip on immigration issues I might hold my nose and vote for them. But they lost me over their contempt for women and I'll never trust them again.

scalt · 30/10/2025 18:34

Get Boris Johnson before the courts and in prison for something. There are many things to choose from.

Explain why the populist clown Nigel Farage is not fit for government. Like Johnson, he looks to see where the wind is blowing, runs in that direction, saying “follow me”.

NorthXNorthWest · 30/10/2025 18:35

Redberryhot · 30/10/2025 08:42

Sort out immigration and the small boats.

Recognise that woman = adult human female and protect single sex services and spaces.

Put more money into policing and security.

Clamp down on public sector waste and mismanagement.

Reorganise the NHS and accept that some kind of privatisation/insurance scheme is inevitable.

Scrap the triple lock (which no government will do because pensioners vote).

The private market in healthcare doesn't work. It will be student loans all over again. It supposed to work one way but ends up screwing over everyone but those that can afford full healthcare.

HS2 is good for the North. Not everyone lives in the South East.

My MP is Lib Dem what are you talking about?

Upstartled · 30/10/2025 18:45

Julen7 · 30/10/2025 17:39

I think @Swiftasthewind is just posting rubbish to suit her own agenda. Lib Dem/Green coalition upcoming apparently.

Oh, is that poster not joking? There has never been any poll with Greens at 27% - dream on. How much of the British population does anyone think could get behind manifest-your-boobs-bigger Polanski?

Yet countries like France seem to have an excellent health service which isn't fully free. Yes, I know they have higher taxes.
I do think a hypothecated NHS tax could be a way forward but would probably make Labour unelectable again.

ninjahamster · 30/10/2025 18:49

Be a lot stronger. They feel like a very wishy-washy party, KS is so passive. No energy about them all.
I would like to see them focusing on the poorer and vulnerable members of society. Actively working to bring down the asylum application lists. Be bold.

You might want to look at France again. France is in a whole heap of trouble too from healthcare to pensions. They have already tried to raise retirement age because of the problems they have.

DarkFruitcake · 30/10/2025 18:54

If you want the answer OP @surreygirly has pretty much covered it all.

This is what the majority want, and this is what Labour are not listening to.

But what does it gain? Ten minutes cut in travel time. Is that good value?
