There is a lot of the tone on this thread that is justifying why he was shot. ‘He was hateful’ - coincidentally the same words inscribed on the bullets.

People on Mumsnet were 💯 celebrating his death but they were deleted and so people toned it down, but it’s still there, the undertone that he deserved it because he’s so ‘hateful’.

So do you speak out about your view on trans ideology? Or do you hide away with your views and let someone else take the bullet from actually hateful people?

What absolute nonsense. Just because I disliked the man and am not sad about his death doesn’t mean I condone his murder. Stop with this. This push by the right to frame him as a Saint and anyone who isn’t sad enough about his death is somehow complicit. Ridiculous

I do speak about my view on abortion yes.
But I don’t expect anyone to agree with me, and I don’t judge anyone who has an abortion. I also don’t try and influence people. That probably sounds completely alien to you, but it’s actually totally normal irl with non ideologically captured lefties.

It’s not that hard to not expect everyone to agree with you,

I also don’t try and influence people.

So what are you doing then on this and parallel thread about abortions trying to refute each concern and each post disagreeing with you?
You say that you expect people to disagree with you but you always come with counterpoint.
Is this CK technic?

This is a chat forum not rl

you asked about rl 🤷‍♀️

Do you see the way people talk about me being on threads “all over mumsnet” , “posting on parallel threads”

It’s weird to be criticised for posting on a chat room. It’s almost like you just don’t like my opinion and want me to shut up 🤔

How ironic

Oh for goodness sake you are so desperate to cast those who find Kirk’s views unpalatable as the villains. No one was trying to silence you. Have you actually seen what is happening in America? Have you seen what Trump is doing with the media, with Kimmel? Did you watch the memorial service? What did you make of Stephen Millers speech? Trumps? Did you find it all acceptable and in line with your values?

@Climbingrosexx

Erika Kirk was not witness to her husband’s shooting. She was in Phoenix, Arizona supporting her mother who was receiving medical treatment. I assume her young children were with her.

Ok I stand corrected. I do however stand by my belief that celebrating this is about as low as you can get

It is the Charlie Kirk belief (title of the thread) that trans women are not women that got him killed

It wasn’t. It was the fact that there are more guns than people in the US that killed Charlie Kirk. Without the American gun culture Tyler Robinson was raised in he would still be at home in his room playing video games, perhaps bitching with his partner about Charlie Kirk.

Charlie Kirk said, “I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights.” Those rights aren’t God-given, they’re man-made. And they need to change. How I don’t know, but America will continue hurtling into the abyss if they don’t.

I already said in my original quote I don't know a great deal about him. I have seen him inviting people to have perfectly reasonable debates but given the hatred there is for him there has to be another side to this. I pride myself on the fact I am happy to look at both sides and not just lay into someone just because they may have a different view which seems to be the way of the world now

There’s no other way to kill people?
it is so ridiculous to blame this on guns.
The gun didn’t make him do it.
ideology did.

He’s been taught about transphobia by the liberals. And fair play, he truly thought that CK was a threat to his existence, he’s been indoctrinated to think that saying a man cannot be a woman is hate speech and those words are violent. Hell, even on here people are dreaming up that Charlie Kirk was somehow going to impose / force his Christian values on you…if you really think that then annihilation is the right thing to do. Hence the celebrating makes sense

Well you do literally sit alongside the killer in thinking he was hateful….so…yeah maybe you are a bit wrong?

Nobody knows what his ideology was, his parents say he was left, his friends say otherwise, they’ve found no ties to any particular group as yet. His online activity suggests he was far right, the released texts suggest left.

The only thing that’s pretty definite is, he’s clearly not someone who should have had easy access to a gun.

🙄 That same old rubbish that "guns don't kill..."

There actually is no other easy way for an ordinary citizen to kill another at a big range (as CK was from the killer) than by firing a gun. He couldn't have stabbed him from a distance! He would have had to get very close and past CK's security. A gun made it so much easier 👍

There is also no way one can fatally stab as many people in a short space of time as one can by firing a gun, so all those school shootings would have been infinitely more difficult/impossible to execute by any other means than firearms.

😂😂😂 this is the weirdest take ever!! Accusing me of “literally sit (ting) alongside the killer” because we both found Kirk hateful. It’s such a leap. Just because two very different people share a like or a dislike does not make them in the same camp! How odd to think like this!!

If I were to take a bet on who had some morality I’d likely not bet on a person who shares the same hateful views as a cold blooded murderer 🤷‍♀️

I’d take my chances with someone who shared the same values of dialogue and debate like Charlie Kirk

urbanbuddha · 23/09/2025 19:19

ideology did.

He had instant access to the gun and bullets, he had been schooled since the age of 8 in how to shoot it and was apparently a reasonably skilled marksman, but crucially he had grown up in a country where the rule of the gun is accepted, even honoured.
We cannot imagine that here. Whenever there’s a shooting of note in the US online chat from Americans is full of well-informed talk about the details of the gun and its bullets - a foreign language to us. Our schools have no practice sessions for an active shooter scenario.
It must affect the mindset of the population to live in a country where it is so easy and so common for people to be lethally armed.
It is the ideology of gun rights that is destroying America.

Charlie Kirk laughed at the deaths and suffering of thousands of children in Gaza and you are furiously supporting “sitting alongside” someone who finds this amusing. What does that make you?

"It's funny, I used to say that hey, if you as a gay person would go to Gaza, they'd throw you off of tall buildings, right? Now they don't have any tall buildings left, so..."

[Laughter]

"Is that too soon? I'm sorry, maybe you shouldn't kill Jews, stupid Muslims"

These buildings were full of families. Kirk is playing it for laughs. I see your morality

Hmm - that doesn't really work when the far left gets to decide what is or is not and who it labels or not as racist or homophobic or bigoted.

It's also very much a far left stance that their opinion or view is the only "truth".

Well said 100% this. Leftists always argue from a point of emotion rather than logic, that's why Charlie Kirk literally smashed every debate and why leftists wouldn't debate him. They had nothing to offer.

i mean, I’m fairly sure he’s laughing at his own joke, but given the punchline of the joke is people dying….

really?
he’s laughing at the hypocrisy / stupidity of the liberals and their ‘gays for Palestine’, a place where actual homophobia exists.
You know Muslims don’t tolerate homosexuality I’m sure, so that was what that was about,..but sure, support actual homophobia in Palestine and go after Charlie Kirk - good logic

And yes, if you are going to do the depraved acts of October 7th there are obviously going to be consequences.

Most normal people see this clearly

That clip was posted as a response to one of my comments and I confess I was gullible enough to be taken in, however I showed it to someone who does a lot of research and that clip was part of a much wider picture but the full story and truth wouldn't fit the narrative. He wasn't laughing at babies being killed, that was never mentioned.

The smirk accompanying these lines. He’s joking about the destruction of Gaza, considering it an edgy comedy moment by throwing in the “too soon?” comment. I don’t think anyone here would condone the awful events of October the 7th, but it cannot justify the genocide in Gaza -innocent babies, children and citizens. To make jokes about it, is morally bankrupt.
Funny how Kimmel was cancelled for saying the "Maga gang" were "desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them" and trying to "score political points from it"
So genocide is ok to joke about and you have Brian Kilmeade saying on Fox about homeless people "Or, involuntary lethal injection - or something. Just kill them." He wasn’t cancelled because the right only silence dissenters. But, but, but how dare Kimmel make a joke about MAGA’s response to Kirk’s death. You must never criticise the great leader. If you have any doubt about the accuracy of Kimmel’s joke you need to watch the grifting going on at GK’s memorial.
