Corbyn announces Your Party

His new political party with Zarah Sultana.

Except it doesn't appear to even have a name and now Zarah Sultana is having to go around twitter correcting journalists saying it's not called Your Party, while not actually clarifying what it is called.

I'm sure it will be extremely well organised.

Given the democratic nature of Jeremy Corbyn, he wouldn’t choose a name. It’ll be put to the members to choose a name as it will be their party.

noblegiraffe · 24/07/2025 13:36

I've just been to his website. It is 'sign up to our mailing list', 'Corbyn's statement' and 'Donate here'.

Given that the party doesn't even have a name it is extremely unclear where those donations will be going.

PartyMcPartyFace!

Corbyn should be well aware of the dangers of letting any old person have easy access to voting rights within your party.

This is exactly the sort of coverage that you want accompanying the launch of your exciting new party isn't it?

It'll all descend into a Monty Python sketch a la "The People's Front of Judea v The Judean People's Front"

So Corbyn hasn't announced 'Your Party'...

Great thread.

TheBuffetInspector · 24/07/2025 14:52

24 hour party people.

Sorted!

Great thread.

That's the point. People thought (quite reasonably) that he had announced "Your Party" because that is the name of the website and he had given no further indication as to the name of the party that he was announcing.

It was a total balls-up on his part.

It's not a 'total ballsup' OP, there seems to be some kind of miscommunication.

It’s only a ‘balls up’ to people who aren’t familiar with how Jeremy Corbyn works. I’d have thought it was blatantly obvious to those people who are familiar with his methods. I’m very surprised that Paul Mason was confused by it.

“Some kind of miscommunication’ about the name of the party you have just launched is a major balls-up.

That’s not what you want people to be talking about, is it?

Doesn't sound very promising if they can't even decide on a name. Sign up here. Give away your money to folk more deserving than you. Hmmm.

Not really as it's pretty boring. It comes across as crowing over a non issue.

Google ‘Corbyn launches party’ to see how many papers have it as “Your Party” 😆

I tell you what doesn't bode well, a 19 year old in charge of a council. Get your laughing gums around that circus.

ililili · 24/07/2025 15:08

So he can’t even launch a party without confusion over the name? Does he remember why he lost the election before this one? People literally said they would vote Labour but not Corbyn. Crack on with the bellendery.

MyNameIsX · 24/07/2025 15:09

Split that Labour vote!

Go Jezza, go!

CaveMum · 24/07/2025 15:09

The words "piss-up", "couldn't" "brewery" and "organise" come to mind...

It may be a "non-issue" for some people (nay, perhaps a lot of people) but if you can't even accurately communicate the name (or lack thereof) of a new Party at its launch, how is anyone going to take your policies and proposals seriously?

Precisely. Will be interesting to see how it plays out with the unions etc

You really think his target voter gives a shit about that? They really dont.

Split that Labour vote!

Go Jezza, go!

From what I’ve seen of projected vote shares they would take more votes from the Green Party than Labour, which makes sense as that’s where all the hard left wankers fled once Starmer got in.

Oddly enough I personally dont care about shit like that. It's an embryo, embryos can turn into anything.

It's a good way to get people talking though. Even if they are sniggering. Still talking.
