His new political party with Zarah Sultana.

Except it doesn't appear to even have a name and now Zarah Sultana is having to go around twitter correcting journalists saying it's not called Your Party, while not actually clarifying what it is called.

I'm sure it will be extremely well organised.

Oh god Corbyn's one of the big reasons Boris was elected in 2019. He was absolutely toxic to the Labour vote.

In retrospect considering who we have had leading UK since 2019…

Boris, Truss, Sunak, Starmer …. I mean…

Also, Corbyn wanted to do something that would have been incredible…

open up the City of London. Open up its books. Take away the remembrancer role…

since the UK civil war, the City of London has not changed - it is the only UK borough that doesn’t have to open its accounts, it’s a corporation not a local authority and it’s residents can’t vote. It has a remembrancer who can go into House of Commons and report back to the City of London in the policies in development, for the benefit of the city of London. When we know that London houses over 25% of UK economy and that the City of London is at least a third of this..breaking the 500 year secrecy that the City is shrouded I. would have massive benefit for fairer distribution and transparency of uk wealth. Just this one thing could have been pretty transformative but no. Sigh.

The hard left wankers fled to the Green Party.

Did they?

Yeah, which is probably why the Green Party now seems to care more about Gaza than the environment.

People from all points on the political spectrum voted for Brexit.
I personally voted Remain.

I meant which political party gave us Brexit...... the main reason the super wealthy have supposedly left the UK... though there are no figures on whether they still pay UK taxes or not.

Oh and an Exodus is not 10,000 out of 2.8million... it's a very small percentage but of course using words like Exodus portrays a doom and gloom situation.

Care to name the taxes you said Labour put onto the backs of middle income earners??

Lemontcat · 24/07/2025 18:52

MyNameIsX · 24/07/2025 18:33

Well, you are evidently not a fan of capitalism, and you appear to believe in egalitarianism….

Pyongyang Is not egalitarian, so I am not sure what your point is?

Radioundermypillow · 24/07/2025 18:53

I'd be interested in finding out the name as I might consider voting for them.

twistyizzy · 24/07/2025 18:53

Alexandra2001 · 24/07/2025 18:14

Rubbish, middle income earners, those on around 60kp.a, are paying no more tax now than they were under the Tories.

Very few of these will be able to afford private school either or be employing people.

Or can you name the taxes Labour have targeted for Middle Income earners....

As a leader banker said recently "Brexit is the main cause of bankers and hence hi earners leaving the UK..."

...and who gave us that??

Edited

I earn 35K and been hammered by VAT on school fees.

‘I want wealth and power to be redistributed’

Your words.

And this is how extreme right wins: divide the vote for the left, tories still not recovered, reform wins and we get a lovely Trump franchise

And this is why we need to reform our political system to use some sort of proportional represtnation to elect our politicians. Then people can vote for whichever party they actually support as smaller parties can get people elected and have influence on government policy.

But we won't because tradition.

Nope, still not getting it. You will either need to be open with a full answer, or we will need to leave it there.

You re in a tiny minority, 35k is about 27k p.a net give or take, not much left to pay for even one child as a day pupil in the cheapest of private schools.

Plus your income really isn't in the middle income bracket, its below average.

No it's average. That's pretty much bang on average UK wage. Husband was on more than me so we equalled out as middle earners. Well he did until made redundant this week due to NI increase!

Is hyperbole your noun du jour?

Otherwise, do try to look on the bright side - the rain is good for ones garden.

Chin up! Many of us are looking forward to watching the socialists eat themselves.

I am looking on the bright side, I was enjoying myself. Don't you have anything else to look forward to? That's very sad. Try getting out more.

Wow you ve been hit very hard...

Middle income of around 60k isn't a household income.

So again, what taxes have Labour put on middle income earners.... i doubt i'll get an answer, so i'll tell you... its none, Labour haven't increased any taxes on middle income earners, other than school fees VAT which they had a mandate for as it was in their manifesto and will affect a tiny minority of average earners.

UK average income is £37.5k, so again, you re below this.

As you wish.

Resorting to insults.

I have learned that bitterness inevitably comes from posters who are not exactly winning at life.

Dont be one of those people, Milo.

“OK, so we have already demonstrated that we are incapable of producing a proper launch event for our new party with professional branding, media, socials etc, in fact we haven’t even got a name for it, or a leader, but we are asking you to vote for us to run the country.”

What can possibly go wrong with this new party? 🙄

I think they’ll struggle to find a better name than Your Party. I mean it’s actually not that bad.

SpottyAardvark · 24/07/2025 19:21

In the highly unlikely event that these muppets get their act together sufficiently to actually get this new party off the ground, we should run a sweepstake on how long until the first split.

I give it three months.

It would be great if you could stop giving me instructions on how to behave. As for resorting to insults, I'm only following your lead. Take your own advice.

No thanks, it's hardly productive. I'm disappointed you haven't accused me of being from a Communist dictatorship though. Ah well.
