Completely bizarro. And if she's not well she needs to be removed and be assisted.

Colderthanever · 17/10/2022 17:17

I also think she’s going to resign. This is not normal behaviour and it’s not the behaviour of someone fighting for their role.

she just sat there looking down and blinking whilst penny and Jeremy tried to defend her.

Circumferences · 17/10/2022 17:21

We need a general election urgently.
It's not going to happen.
We're stuck with these total numpties.

Croque · 17/10/2022 17:22

She's playing the cardboard cut out version of herself until she is forced out. Graham Brady only came back from holiday today. It will probably take a few days. Hunt is doing well (so far).

vera99 · 17/10/2022 17:23

That was excruciating though looking at her stupid blank face, her eyes darting everywhere weird nervous movements of her jaw. Think it has dawned on her that her whole life she's been deluded about her own abilities. Happened to a boss of mine decades ago who was full of himself and a bit of arse and then one day came into work and it was like he just wasn't there. It lasted for weeks - he was functional but only just. Classic nervous breakdown. Probably x1000 when you've blown up both the economy, your party and your reputation.

She didn't look at all there. Like she really wasn't well, mentally. I hope she resigns, for all our and her own sake looking at her today. (Entirely of her own making, I know).

bellinisurge · 17/10/2022 17:24

I think she's ill and for everyone's sake (including hers) she needs to step down. Now.

Croque · 17/10/2022 17:25

"Trussonomics" makes me so angry tough. She is painfully economically illiterate which was obvious from the start. She should not have a mini school of thought attributed to her. It implies that she made an informed choice in going for a particular bunch of policies over another.

vera99 · 17/10/2022 17:25

Karma is a real bitch.

I also thought she might not be well and possibly medicated. Jeremy hunt and penny mourdant to be fair to them have managed it well. Jeremy in particular.

but yes I am wondering if truss has had a nervous breakdown or something, she didn’t look animated or even mentally there.

xalo · 17/10/2022 17:27

Jeremy Hunt is surprisingly good! Calm and courteous.

Croque · 17/10/2022 17:28

Fangirl Dorries still pitching/pining for Boris on Twitter, I see. 😍

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 17/10/2022 17:29

the latest polling figures are bonkers

MayThe4th · 17/10/2022 17:31

She needs to go, and this is going to go down in history.

But she really doesn’t look well.

ClaudineClare · 17/10/2022 17:32

Agree that she did not look right at all.

I agree and I liked his little flash of annoyance at rhe mp who said he’d said it was austerity again. He took her down neatly.

he seems to be saying it like it is. I’m ok with that.

Agree completely... she is out of her depth, as she was as Foreign Secretary or even Trade, her deals were terribly damaging to UK industry and farming.

As much as i dislike Truss, i wouldn't wish a breakdown etc on her.

she's so going down in history.

George Canning's ghost must be dancing a jig in the afterlife as he realises he's soon to lose his 'shortest serving PM' crown.

This isn't real is it? We are having some mass hallucinations probably has something to do with the water they have screwed up.

I'm starting to wonder about this. Or the world has ended and we are all living in a computer simulation run by Dominic Cummings

MayThe4th · 17/10/2022 17:38

Well, having just watched some of that back I think it’s safe to say that Jeremy hunt was giving his audition speech. He is pm in all but name now, and IMO will be within the month.

Croque · 17/10/2022 17:41

I would have thought it was less damaging if she had put in a no-show. There is nothing like comparing yourself to Thatcher then putting on a great show showing that you are now invisible.

Colderthanever · 17/10/2022 17:43

Just had a look at twitter, many folks concerned she’s unwell and heavily medicated. Lots of praise for Jeremy and how penny handled her words, she took starmer down with confidence, she can orate at least.

it’s a terrible situation and the tories need to sort this now, Brady needs to act and quickly for everyone’s sake.

Lonelycrab · 17/10/2022 17:44

If she is genuinely unwell then her colleagues need to step up and help her resign, and get the help she needs.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 17/10/2022 17:49

Her family should be telling her to chuck it in now and move on.

xalo · 17/10/2022 17:56

Truss must go now. So refreshing to listen to MPs asking difficult questions in a civilised manner and accepting Jeremy Hunt's confident and reasonable replies. I suspect there will be dark times ahead but the Tories could do a lot worse than him.
