Education Secretary Kemi Badenoch!
Home Secretary Suella Braverman!
Levelling Up Secretary...Jacob Rees-Mogg!!!!!! 😂🤣😭😭😭

Populist Prime Minister Truss has apparently already appointed her joke of a cabinet. Never did I think there could be a Home Secretary worse than Priti Patel!

Barely any mention of the climate throughout this whole diabolical leadership scrap, other than the fact that Liz doesn't like the look of solar panels. 🤦‍♀️FML.

What have the Tories actually achieved during their tenure? Except Brexit which has made things worse. Anyone??

I don't find Keir Starmer inspirational but he's clearly decent, credible, honest and competent. He understands we need a green economy, investment and jobs asap. He doesn't pick a fight with our European allies. A coalition led by him including Lib Dems and Greens would also be fine by me. Some adults in the room at last, please!!

Contrary to Daily Fail scare mongering the polls suggest he wouldn't need any deal with the SNP.

Surely the country is ready for a Labour led government at last???

Not voting labour Until they get out of Stonewall, stop being misogynistic and homophobic and start to represent 50% of the adult population and start to safeguard children.

StrangerThisWay · 04/09/2022 00:13

The naivety is on your part.

No naivety here. I'm so, so angry about Labour's absolutely zero support for women, for their crap understanding of working class issues and for Starmer's complete lack of any backbone. But for the love of god, voting the Tory Party in is not the answer. If there was a credible socialist option I would take it.

Iadorerain · 04/09/2022 00:16

The Labour Party thinks the electorate should listen to the Labour Party., any body who thinks TWANW have been insulted and told not to vote for them. I’m sure this is reproduced in other areas of policy making as well.
The Tories listen to the electorate, this is demonstrated by the Tories defence of womens rights to sex based facilities.

StrangerThisWay · 04/09/2022 00:23

The Tories listen to the electorate

A huge portion of the country is terrified of the rising energy bills which will tip them into poverty. Are the Tories listening, are they hell. They have no comprehension of what it feels like to not have money for the basics, to be earning a full time wage and still be in poverty.

I'm not going to quote/copy your last reply to me because it's large, but can you genuinely not see the issue in your response?

All those groups of people feel like they have been labelled as those 'slurs' by the Labour Party and it's been made clear to them they aren't welcome.

The Labour Party have alienated the vast majority of their core voters because the people in charge have an ideological position that they feel is 'correct' doesn't match that of the people who would usually vote for them.

you can't call people bigots, transphobes, gammon and racists and then cry when they won't vote for you any more and yell about how the tories are worse and it's not fair.

Absolutely agree with this.

Why do you believe that they aren’t listening? Have you any evidence for this or is it just what you imagine to be true?

Given the windfall tax and cost of living payments your claim doesn’t seem believable.

Iadorerain · 04/09/2022 00:31

If they were listening to women, they would not be saying TWAW.

Iadorerain · 04/09/2022 00:31

I mean TMAW

Iadorerain · 04/09/2022 00:32

oops I’m tired, off to bed now , but Labour are not listening to women

Toseland · 04/09/2022 00:45

Labour have lost the plot - men as women's officers, rapists in women's prisons, men self-iding as women, expulsion from the party and sending people for re-education if they don't believe?! 100,000 members have left. #nothankyou

Truss has ruled out energy company windfall taxes, apparently fracking will be the solution to our energy problems. Cost of living payments only cover those in receipt of certain benefits/credits. But handouts aren't the answer in any case. A government shouldn't be enabling businesses to pay employees non-living wages and giving subsidies in order for them to make huge profits. It's absolute insanity and morally bankrupt.

Nat6999 · 04/09/2022 00:49

The latest polls say if there was an election Labour would have a 176 seat majority. We need a Labour government, if the Liberals, Greens & SNP would vote with a Labour Government the remaining Tories would be wiped out especially as many of the current cabinet would lose their seats in the election.

That has literally nothing to do with the point being made. The claim was that they are not listening; if they weren’t then they would not have had the windfall tax or cost of living payments.

I don't disagree with you. But sacrificing the environment, workers' rights and that's a huge one, abortion rights (Rees Mogg is rapidly pro life), sacrificing our rights to unionise and protest, sacrificing our rights to free (at the point of delivery) healthcare. Can you not see what is at stake here? The Tories have lied through their teeth, they can't even be trusted on women's rights, if they change tack we will not have the right to protest.

Clymene · 04/09/2022 01:00

Still no one has said what's great about Labour ...

dropthevipers · 04/09/2022 01:02

Vote for a party run by a bloke wearing a tin foil hat? Er, no

StrangerThisWay · 04/09/2022 01:13

The windfall tax was a deflection against bad press at the time, it was also offset by an 80% investment allowance, further encouraging the investment in fossil fuels. And the date was cynically timed to be after dividends had been announced. Don't ever believe the Tories are doing anything that doesn't benefit themselves.

What so great about Labour? At this point they are the least worst option.

Sorry, I don't understand the tinfoil hat reference.

Clymene · 04/09/2022 01:50

'The least worst option'. Christ, what a ringing endorsement! Grin

That just about sums my position up

Ndd135632 · 04/09/2022 02:01

Was at the Grand Prix today and had to watch my 13 year old daughter walk through grown men pissing in urinals to get to the piss laden toilets. Unisex toilets. No thanks Labour. No thanks.

StrangerThisWay · 04/09/2022 02:03

The least worst option'. Christ, what a ringing endorsement!

I know, it's fucking dire isn't it? But what the hell is the alternative that won't keep the Tories in power?

Hawkins001 · 04/09/2022 02:04

Instead of one party or another, we need the third way.

worriedatthistime · 04/09/2022 02:05

How can they join with SNP ? Im confused as snp is not a party in england and wales

worriedatthistime · 04/09/2022 02:09

@83DanishMum I don't know anyone on middle incomes or lower who want higher taxes
Money alone cannot fix the nhs and its about time people realised this
