If one candidate had favoured keeping America engaged militarily, while the other had opposed military action, especially in the Middle East, which one would you have considered to be more realistic?

You also don't seem to know much about my life, or how sheltered it has been. But it should be easy to find out.

I really don't know of anyone who thinks they can go up to ISIS and talk them out of it, as you suggested the leftists think, though.

Please don't misrepresent me. I said he would end it overnight with a few phonecalls to the fatcats and billionaires who fund it and scare the hell out of them and then he would do a deal with the Russians where they would go after them after their funding had been cut and they would then be taken out. However, he has also asked his generals to come up with a plan to take them out in 30 days.

Trump will take them out one way or the other.

No. Not untrue. True. I can categorically say Deepan, Ive ignored what must now be hundreds of ridiculous 'questions' on these threads, quite simply because both the question and the person asking it is simply being a dick.

In order to now navigate these threads, once a poster has identified themselves as being a dickish derailer, I simply scroll on by. I strongly suggest, if you dont like my posts, you do the same and scroll on by.

Occassionally, if Im utterly bored, I may linger and read a couple of these daft ones, and respond. (Knowing full well the response Ill get...its all very predictable) But thats it. Theres no science to it.

So if a critically important question has been missed by me, that you feel slighted by, I apologise. But from what Ive scanned today, its the same old same old, demanding to know what colour knickers a poster is wearing, and why?!.

Im not here to debate if Trump was unfaithful to his MIL or if, because he ate bagels this morning hes supporting Israels current postion. Im here, because I enjoy discussing the world changing events going on at the moment and Trumps impact on those. Claigs insight into the world of Trump, is second to none. Southall, misss, magz and others are well informed, and certainly finger on the pulse of what is actually happening in the big wide world out there. Not some warped world view where Hillary won the election, the EU is thriving and all nations and those who live in them are prosperous and happy, and healthy, and safe.

"Overnight" does mean overnight, claig, not "in 30 days" or "when the Russians get round to it". Maybe these threads would go better if you acknowledge that you used the wrong terminology rather than berating others for not knowing that you did.

This is worth reading. Huge conflicts of interest that will no doubt dog the Trump presidency. Invites to go big game hunting with the sons to commemorate the Inaugaration. Revolting. His kids are selling access to the President. That's apart from sitting in on meetings with PMs of Japan and Argentina. Conflict of interests doesn't even begin to cover it.

Mark my words, these next 4 years will go down in history as the Presidency when the business and whole family benefitted but not the country. Talk of passing on his business to his children are meaningless as foreign governments and investors will know exactly how to influence them.

Even Exxon has acknowledged climate change. But just because the oil elites have finally come to accept it, it certainly doesn't mean that they invented it.

Scientific elites are on the side of the people. Mostly because they are common people too. And understand the consequences of not doing anything about climate change.

These are the same elites who have led to improved survival rates for cancer sufferers, for car users, for mothers and babies. That developed and implemented vaccines that got rid of one disease and much reduced the impact of many others. That have done the basic research that led to many of us being able to contribute to this thread on our phones and on the go.

Check what happened to civilizations that dismissed their scientists and have stopped science. And compare to those who have fostered science and curiosity.

Certainly, scientific revolutions have occurred through a new "maverick" challenging established knowledge. Despite natural initial resistance, those who were right demonstrated their case.
And that is what happened with climate change. The scientific community is only too eager for better predictive models. As is the business community. Who wouldn't want to know when a draught is going to affect coffee prices, or when a typhoon will affect tourism?
Who wouldn't want to know exactly what will happen to the Earth's climate?
But it's incredibly hard, because climate is a chaotic system. It means that it's very complex and it's very sensitive to initial conditions. (The old butterfly in China causing a tornado in the US metaphor)
But all the best models so far predict fast climate change. Different in different regions, but the key is the speed. And that some regions are likely to become inhabitable or quite different from today.

Climate change is basically an accepted theory these days. It was a hard fought battle.
As is the human contribution to it, although the extent is still debated and investigated.
It is the last thing that is caused by an elite conspiracy, as the corporate elites have had to be convinced. Definitely not the other way around. :)

Yes Exxon has known for a long time about climate change, as I'm sure do pretty much all of the oil industry, but has put its own short term interests first in hiding its evidence and propagating denial. so I think if teh President says that, then we are all "allowed" to say what we like within MNHQ guidelines.
