I explained it, because we don't have PR voting. They got 4 million votes, more than anyone expected, and nearly half of what Labour got but with First Past the Post, only 1 MP whereas Labour got over 200.

I recorded the debate and have just finished watching it.

I thought Hillary wiped the floor with him. He was ill-prepared and some of his responses were downright embarrassing.

However, I think his performance at these debates may count for little because so many of his US supporters are narrow minded bigots - their minds are made up.

Wasn't Trump behind in the polls at the beginning of the campaign because his advisors were 'letting Trump be Trump'? So what sense would there be in letting Trump be Trump during the subsequent debates?

He's already convinced the rednecks and the nutters; they're onside. In order to win, he must either rein it in to catch floating voters, or hope that nutters tip the balance on polling day.
